Sacrifice Bunt (Ground Rule Book 2)Sacrifice Bunt by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Zara has her career and her love and leave them attitude but there is only man that has managed to get under her skin is Noah Ashe, since college and him walking in on her in a compromising position and walking away she has had this innate compulsion to fight with him. So when Hannah her best friend asks her to fill in for her in big business meeting will she make it through dinner or kill Noah.

Noah has had feelings for Zara ever since her found her in his apartment in college naked waiting for his room mate, over the years it has become a cat and mouse game with her to annoy her as much as possible his own kind of foreplay, but when she accompanies him to a business deal he cant let his pent up attraction hid anymore and with the single kiss his world is spinning out of control on its axis, but when Zara shuts him down will he get a second chance.

Zara is still dreaming about the kiss but can she break her own rules and decide to give Noah a try or will it end in tears and ruin friendships.

This is the second book in the Ground Rule series and is absolutely brilliant. I am glad that these two characters are the second story as you get a hint of the frustration of these two characters in the first book but they just explode off the page in this book.

I always love a strong female character and Zara is that to a tee but it is always lovely to see the vulnerable side and the fact that she is lonely and that Noah fills that void without her really understanding or knowing that she needed it was brilliant to read. Noah’s character although is tough and strong alpha having flaws with him was lovely to read and be empathic with a male mental health is now coming to the forefront.

Although as I said this is the second book in the series this book can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the first book and get to see the blossoming relationship of Celia and Kyle. Thank you for this story and hope to read more in the future.

I really enjoyed the first book from the Ground Rule series so I figured this one would have to be a great one as well. It did not disappoint. It can be read as a stand alone but I do recommend reading the first book so you know a bit of back story about some of characters. Noah has never forgotten Zara, not that she could be forgotten after their experience together. This is a super fun romantic sports story.

This series is nothing but amazing. I loved the first book and wasn’t sure I’d enjoy this one as much. Boy was I wrong. Zara and Noah made an appearance in the first book and they finally have their shot to tell their story. Zara is probably one of the strongest female characters I’ve been able to stand reading. I loved her from the beginning. She is the type of girl who isn’t looking for love. She wants to get what she needs and move on. She met Noah many years ago in college and thought he didn’t remember who she was. Boy was she wrong. There was a reason why he left her standing there after the fire the way he did. He wanted nothing more than to get to know her but, everyone has some baggage / stressful things they can’t bare. When Noah and Zara finally have to be in the same room without any buffers the sparks will fly. Zara tries to push Noah away at every turn but, Noah is a lot stronger and a lot more patient then she thinks. This was such a great 5+ star read. Cannot wait to read the next book.

This is the second in the Ground Rule series, a lovely addition to the series. Each book can be read as a standalone as each book focuses on a different couple. Characters from the first book do pop up so I would recommend reading the first to get a clearer picture of who everyone is.

I love a good ‘enemies to lovers’ trope so I knew I’d enjoy this book. The plot was enjoyable and flowed well, as did the author’s writing style making more an easy read. Although it isn’t exactly enemies to lovers, it was still a fun story to get lost in.

I loved the characters of Zara and Noel and am so happy with the conclusion of their story.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the third book!

This is the sound book in the Ground Rule Series. I recommend reading the Walk Off first because there is a cross-over of characters and it will help you better understand these characters.

Zara is a highly independent woman that knows what she wants and goes for it. She is not afraid to admit that she loves sex and does not care much for relationships. As a woman in a male-dominated field, she has to work harder and have a backbone of steel.

Noah Ashe is an MLB player and friends with one of the men that Zara works for. Noah is a private person and avoids the spotlight and tabloids as much as possible. He is intrigued by Zara because they have a history. He walked in on her naked in this apartment one day when she was waiting for someone else. From that day on he has wanted her. The confidence of this woman was like a beacon to him.

What happens when someone who sees you in a vulnerable state comes back into your life? Is the tension just sexual or is there more? Will he be able to melt her ice-cold heart or will she remain anti-relationships?

Read this book to find out if Noah gets the girl. You will also need water to help cool you off. There is a lot of spice and steamy scenes. Read in public at your own digression.

This is the second book in this series which is just as great and maybe a little better. I enjoyed this author’s books as I know I am in for a great romance story. I enjoy her writing skills and attention to detail that make her stories pop. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A story about two people a little reluctant to open themselves up to romance. What will happen with these two if they do? I enjoyed how they pulled me into their world of romance and their one night. This is a fast paced story that is engaging and had me wanting to know what happens between these two. I enjoyed watching their chemistry and growth throughout. Don’t miss what happens with these two characters. I highly recommend this book.

Baseball romance
The second book in the Ground Rule series and we have Zara, a confident sports agent who knows what she wants and that’s no strings attached. Then there’s Noah, straight shooting and comfortable with who he is. The author has a flare for writing deep characterisation and storyline without making it wordy or confusing. I was engaged from the start and wanted their HEA. Looking forward to Book 3! Recommend.

Sacrifice Bunt is the second book in the Ground Rule Series by Bree Kraemer. This is a superb contemporary sports romance with a bit of an enemies to lovers element, chemistry, sizzle, friendship, banter, humour, emotion, drama, angst, and more.
As expected from Ms. Kraemer- Zara and Noah pulled me in right from the beginning and had me fully invested in them and the outcome of their story.
Bring on Book #3!
Happy reading.

Thank you, Bree Kraemer!

This is book 2 in this series, and while it can be read as a standalone, I doubt you will want to!

Years ago, Zara Dewan met Noah Ashe in a memorable way, by being completely naked in the apartment while waiting for his roommate, though she didn’t know he had a roommate at the time. Their meeting was short, and memorable for another reason as well, a fire that destroyed the whole apartment building. Since that day, Zara has hated Noah, because he carried her out of the apartment without clothing, gave her his shirt, and then disappeared. They have crossed paths many times since then, because Zara is a sports agent, and Noah is a professional baseball player. When the pair is thrown together due to Zara’s friend a business partner (and Noah’s agent) being sidelined from an important meeting due to an issue for another client, the spark that had been simmering just under the surface lights and the pair end up sleeping together. What Zara never saw coming was her developing feelings for Noah, who already wanted to be with her in more ways than one. There is some strong language, and plenty of steamy scenes, with a guaranteed happily ever after.

Sacrifice Bunt is the second book in the Ground Rule sports series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend as always starting at the beginning and working your way through.
Bree writes complex characters that are relatable, sexy, strong and sassy and know what they want. The story is steamy with fun and humour yet at times emotional and intense. It is well written and the story flows seamlessly making it easy to become lost in the story.
Zara is an independent woman who likes what she likes and make no apologies for it. One night that shouldn’t have happened is now threatening all that she likes. Or is it?
Noah wants the sexy woman that doesn’t want him. What started out as one night of fun become much more to him than he anticipated.
I can’t wait to see where Bree takes us next in the third book Grand Slam.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 Stars

Sacrifice Bunt is book 2 of the Ground Rule Series and I simply loved the story of Noah and Zara.
This sports romance full of friendships, enemies to lovers, sugar, spice and everything nice that I love and devour. I highly recommend reading this series in order as the characters from the beginning are woven into this book as well….

Noah and Zara meet a few years prior on a chance encounter that to Zara, what not her most shining moment…but Noah does save Zara, but then disappears. Years later, Zara and Noah meet again, and even though they never forgot about each other……Zara is standoffish, hurt and puzzled on why Noah disappeared….Zara is also not into relationships and is totally focused on her job, in which she worked so hard to achieve. Noah tries to swoon Zara, knowing she was the girl for him…but plays it out to see if he can get the girl he always wanted.

Zara gives Noah one night together, but will it be enough? Will Zara eventually break down her harden walls around her heart to give Noah a chance?

I truly loved this book and I am already looking forward to reading book 3! I am definitely going to circle back on other books as well from this author…..Highly Recommended!!

Zara and Noah’s story is a slow burn romance. Their story is unique as to how they met. I found it entertaining and a quick read. The chemistry is there. Once that spark is reunited**BANG! I did love how the author put mental health and self-care into the story. I thought that was a nice touch. The supporting characters were great. The interactions between Heath and Noah were…Legendary!!! There is quite a bit of steam for the romance lovers. Quick and entertaining read. Perfect for a weekend book.

Zara Dewan liked sex.

What she didn’t like were relationships.

She’d never been in one nor did she plan to.

From her job as a sports agent, to her friends, to the no strings attached sex, she liked her life as it was.

There was just one problem. Noah Ashe.

She told herself over and over that she didn’t want him. The only problem was, she wasn’t sure he got the memo.

Since the moment Noah had walked in on Zara naked on his couch, he’d had a thing for her. A big thing.

The problem was, she despised him. Vehemently.

One night, all that changed. One kiss led to more and soon Noah wanted it all from her.

What would it take for each of them to sacrifice a little of themselves for love?

Bree Kraemer writes contemporary romance, sometimes with a lot of hot, steamy sex and sometimes with just a little. She lives in Ohio with her husband and 3 kids, all who are teenagers and make her want to pull her hair out. Hence her use of the F-word and the drinking of margaritas.
