This book may be shorter in length than others. But it certainly is jam packed with detail! The author does a beautiful job weaving this tale around classic Norse mythological figures. I was immediately transported by the author into the universe she created when I began reading. I found the writing to be effortless, rich, and full. This was the first book from this author I read and I look forward to reading more.

Promised to cruel King Nøkkyn’s harem, Sol Eriksen is out of options, and nearly out of time.
When she meets a distractingly handsome stranger in the Ironwood Forest who claims to be a legendary monster, Sol thinks he must be a madman, or a demon. She knows she shouldn’t listen to him. Or trust him. And she should not, under any circumstances, kiss him again.
As King Nøkkyn’s grip around her tightens, Sol finds her last chance at freedom may lie with her mysterious new lover, the man who calls himself Fenris.
Samantha’s work has been described as, “breathtakingly lyrical stories that breathe new and unexpected life into the old gods and the mortals who cross their paths.” Born and raised in Colorado, Samantha MacLeod has lived in every time zone in the US, and London. She has a bachelor’s degree from Colby College and an M.A. from the University of Chicago; yes, the U. of C. really is where fun comes to die.
Samantha lives with her husband and two small children in the woods of southern Maine. When she’s not shoveling snow or writing steamy sex scenes, Samantha can be found teaching college composition and philosophy to undergraduates who have no idea she leads a double life as an erotica author.

The Wolf’s Lover: An Urban Fantasy Romance by Samantha MacLeod is the second book in this series. Samantha has yet again done a great job in this paranormal fantasy romance story where mythical gods roam the world. This spellbinding read will have you wondering, where what you thought was good turns out to be bad and what you thought was bad turns out to be good.
Karen loves her job, wolves are what she knows and loves but so is the mystery man of her dreams, but when she discovers something amiss and what she sees before her eyes, turns her world upside down. But there is one thing she does know and that is she will fight to save all that she loves and if that means her life, then so be it.
This story is a great modern take on mythical creatures and romances that defy time and worlds and is full of strong emotions between the characters and their loves. Loki and Carolyn characters we come to love from the first book, show up and make life interesting.

It had me hooked from page one! I love paranormal romances and this one takes another love of mine of folklore and ancient Norse Gods. I mean how can you go wrong with the god of mischief? The author really brings the story to life and I just love how she brings the chemistry between Carol and Loki. I just loved the whole complexity of Carol’s character when she thought she was hallucinating. I mean isn’t it every girls dream to love a God?
The whole story line just had me glued to the pages and I couldnt wait to see what would happen next. I really liked how Carol played a part in saving not only Loki but the Nine Relms. The book fulfilled my adventure quota for the week and I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
The Trickster’s Lover: A Steamy Paranormal Romance by Samantha MacLeod is the first book in the series and I really enjoyed it. Samantha created a paranormal fantasy romance story where there is a different take on the most misunderstood Norse god, Loki. A world in which you don’t know what is fact and what is fiction.
Caroline is done with men or so she thought. When deciphering/translating a book she has finally gotten her hands on her world is changed forever. A world in which she no longer knows if she is dreaming or going crazy. But one thing she does know and that is she will fight to save all she loves and if that means being in a fight for her life then so be it.
This is fun read and I enjoyed this story and seeing the character of Loki in a different light. I can’t wait to see where she goes with other stories.
