New twist on vampires for me. Hunted by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk has a lot going for it. I love the characters and the unique plotline of the story. Sounds like a great new series that I will be watching for and reading. I would like to see a little more world developing going on but there is lots of good dialogue. Reader beware there is some hot and steamy adult situations in this one.

Hunted (Hunted Series Book 1) by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk
4 Stars

I’ve always enjoyed books written by these authors. They know the best way to pull you in and keep you interested. I found this story to be quite ordinary its take on vampires. The world knows of them and the vampires have been trying to integrate since prohibition. They have gained certain rights and are fighting for more. Trying to show the world that they deserve love and life even while hunters chase them down.

Even after one hundred years, Edith still mourns the loss of her love. She’s constantly living in the past until she meets Darren. He makes her want to shed her reservations and live in the moment. Being a hunter, Darren never thought he’d meet a vampire he didn’t want to kill; until Edith. Unfortunately for them both, they are breaking clan laws. The clan leader will do everything in his power to stop them.

This is a story filled with desire, longing and danger. It’s hunters versus humans. Will you choose to be the hunter or the hunted? Another excellent book to add to these authors collection.

This is a different look on vampires. Well a few of them anyway. The characters are plentiful and Edith is not a typical vampire. She lost her fiancée and has always kept an eye out for his family. Years later she gets a chance…an unbelievable chance but will she take it. It means doing something she never thought she would do. Darren has lost his parents to vampires. He dislikes them and became a Hunter. I think he was shocked meeting Edith and it left him feeling strange.

There is a lot of movement and action. But sadly there isn’t an ending. So there must be a second book in the works. It might be a soft conclusion but not a happy ever after. In fact, in the epilogue is where the title came from.

Overall it’s an okay story. It’s just not what I was expecting. I liked Edith and Darren. They are complete opposites. I just didn’t get any *feelings* from them. Or really any other characters.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I sincerely love when these two get together and write these amazing and gripping novels that I soak up like my favorite drink on a hot day. HUNTED is the first in a new series from Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk. These two always create these worlds that carry you away and make you feel as if you are right there with the characters as you read. I will be honest though, vampire books and movies, etc, are not my fav… I know how could I but honestly to me this is a trope that is overplayed usually…. NOT the case here. This felt fresh and adventurous, and most of all it felt as if it could have been real and believable. I was swept up into this world where vampires walk amongst us and we don’t deny it. Unfortunately, for them they still need to protect themselves from being hunted and eradicated. I loved the characters in this and was completely engrossed from the very first chapter until the final few words of the last. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next novel and see where it will take me!

Hunted is the first book in the Hunted series by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk. It is a great fast-paced paranormal story- with vampires, hunters, the supernatural, mystery, tension, romance, drama, action, adventure, wonderful world building, family, originality, and intriguing characters.
I love the stories that this talented duo cooks up- and this latest collaboration is definitely one of my favourites they have produced. I can’t wait to see where the series leads from here. Who doesn’t love a good vampire story?

Thank you, Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk!

5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book HUNTED (HUNTED series Book 1) by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk. It is a story that had me hooked from the very beginning. I love the characters of Edith, Dan Paxton, and Darren Paxton. I grew to care about what happens to them with each chapter that I read. The storyline is exciting and will have you wondering what is going to happen next. The author does an amazing job of making both the story and the characters come alive. There are also additional characters that are introduced. They include those that are helpful to Edith and the others as well as those who have a more personal and selfish agenda. The author does a wonderful job of making you believe in vampires as well as setting up the story behind the characters that you read about. Don’t miss out on an amazing story that is entertaining and addictive to read. You won’t want to put this book down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

This is not my first book by these two authors but it is one of my favorites. I enjoyed this vampire/human paranormal story. This is a well developed story that I had a hard time putting down. I was pulled in right from the beginning and kept engaged to the end. What will happen when a hundredth anniversary party turns into a missing person? Darren thought he was just chaperoning his brother, Dan, until Dan comes up missing. Darren is determined to find his brother, get in and get out, a clean escape. Will Edith hold the key to finding Dan? What will happen between her and Darren? I enjoyed their characters and watching them grow throughout the story. They really made the story for me and easy to read. I highly recommend this book and these authors.

Nothing better than a sweet short mystery to take me into the weekend. I love mystery, psychological thrillers, and thrillers, but once in a while I love the sweet mysteries. The writing of cozy mysteries have piqued my interest for several reasons. The main reason is the gift of the author to tell me the story and hold my interest in a short story format for the mystery. In this story Reverend Margot Quade was invited to dinner, which turns out to be a murder at dinner. Will Reverend Margot Quade be able to solve the mystery? Will the tension between family members be too much? I highly recommend you read this mystery to find out the answer to these questions and more.

This is a cute and wholesome mystery and I love Sarah Biglow’s writing. I love a murder mystery and with a reverend out to solve it makes it even better. The story was easily developed and I enjoyed the way the mystery unfolded. After returning to her hometown, Margot is pulled into a mystery she feels compelled to solve. Complicating things worse is a snowstorm in the victim’s house which could lead to a deadly demise for someone. Margot’s own cousin is in charge of the investigation which could lead them to bump heads. This was a fun page-turner with wonderful characters who will keep you entertained from start to finish.

Into the Lion’s Den: ( A Christian Cozy Mystery) by Sarah Biglow is the first book in the Reverend Margot Quade Cozy Mysteries series. This is a sweet, easy read that you will able to get yourself lost in for a few hours. This is a nice, clean mystery book so for those who prefer their books on the cleaner side then I would definitely recommend this book. This author did really well with keep the book that way without losing the interest of the reader. The book was still interesting and fun to read and the characters were all still enjoyable. I really liked as well that even though it is pegged as a “Christian Cozy” story, never at any point did it feel like it was being forced upon you. Of course the topic was there, and was prevalent in the book, but the author did a tasteful job of including it. For me this actually made the book all the more enjoyable.
I have read a few books now by this author and I have enjoyed every one of them. This is obviously the start of a great new series and I cannot wait to read more!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Into the Lion’s Den is the first book in the Reverend Margot Quade Cozy Mysteries series by Sarah Biglow. Reverend Margot Quade, after serving overseas, has come home to Port Marie, Vermont in hopes of finding where she belongs. A friendly dinner with a unit member of Margot’s turns into a murder mystery. Now Margot is among a murder and is forced to spend the night due to a horrible snowstorm. Her cousin, who lost contact with Margot while she was overseas, is the officer on the case. They must put their differences aside to help solve the mystery. Margot is determined to figure out what really happened and who is the murder behind it all. I loved reading this quick, cozy mystery story. Margot is such a strong female character, but I appreciated how the author uncovered some of her struggles from having been part of the military world. I thought the mystery wasn’t totally obvious which made reading the story much more interesting. I look forward to reading other stories in this series.

This was a great little cozy mystery that I read in one sitting. It was so gripping I couldn’t put it down. The characters are well written and their stories easy to follow which makes the books a enjoyable easy read.

Margot was an army chaplain. When she returned to her home an old army buddy invites her to dinner at his home with his family. Who would have guessed this innocent invitation would turn into a murder mystery. Everyone has a motive and a means but who committed the crime. This book will keep you guessing right up until the end and the ending will shock you.

Into the Lion’s Den is the first book in the Reverend Margot Quade Cozy Mystery series by Sarah Biglow. This is a little different from the other books of Sarah Biglow’s that I have read and enjoyed- but as I love everything crime and mystery, I couldn’t wait to dive in.
Margot Quade has just returned from a tour of duty, serving as Chaplain in her overseas deployment. She has only recently arrived back home, still adjusting to civilian life and trying to find where she belongs now. So, when a fellow ‘brother-in-arms’ who she became friends with whilst in service, invites her over for dinner so he can introduce her to his family- Margot accepts. What should have been a relaxing dinner with an old friend soon turns into a murder investigation, as one of the guests is found dead. Added to the tension is the fact that a severe snowstorm has moved into the area and Margot will be suck at the house with all the other dinner guests, one of whom is the murderer. What happens here makes for a intriguing read.
This is the quintessential ‘cozy mystery’, and I really enjoyed meeting Reverend Margot Quade and following along on her story. I think this is a great start to an intriguing series. I can visualize this making a great television series or movie.
Looking forward to catching up with Margot again in the next book!

Thank you, Sarah Biglow!

It is definitely different from the other cozy mysteries, where faith and mystery are blended neatly. The story is very succinct, and Sarah pulls it all together nicely.

This is a mystery story about Margot and what happens when she goes back to her hometown. One thing she never expected was to find herself in the middle of a mystery. One dinner and a snowstorm turns deadly for someone. She cannot resist a good mystery and has to solve this. How will this affect her relationship with her cousin? Will they find justice or will Margot’s past have something to do with it? I enjoyed these characters very much. I had no problem connecting with them as they made the story feel real for me. They are strong and keep the story moving. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Spring's Calling (Seasons of Magic, #1)Spring’s Calling by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Boston Police Detective Ezri Trenton is about to reconcile her past by trying to save the future with a case deep in dark magic and an old prophecy.
Ezri has by choice isolated herself to not only do her job but solve her mom’s murder.
As the only prophet Savior of the magical community, during a time of both light and dark, the order of Samael works to keep the Druidic demons at bay but that leaves the Savior to be put to the test to save the community.
An unknown force is out on a murdering rampage. Ezri attempts to stop this force without revealing her true identity but it also throws into question more about her mother’s murder.
In a race against time, will she put who she is on the chopping block to save the community and the world as a whole?
This book is a multi-layered trip on the mind as you travel between fantasy and the real world (in book form) but it’s entertaining from start to finish. Quite the page-turner as it keeps you tuning in to see which way Ezri goes, great action and suspense, unpredictable and great world building between two worlds of fantasy and the regular world. This book was nothing short of incredible.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second in the series in which Ezri Trenton, a detective who’s also part of a magical community, takes a case when young girls go missing. I love the mix of crime and fantasy, as I did with the first one, though I probably liked that one better. This is action-packed and fast-paced, and I really appreciated the mix of characters from different backgrounds. I’d read the first book but the writing is great.

Ezri is a detective and the Saviour, she’s trying to juggle both elements of her life and I think she’s doing a pretty good job. Sarah Biglow has done a absolutely fantastic job with book two, it flows so easily before you know it you are at the end. Great work.

Summer’s Stolen is the second enthralling addition to the Seasons of Magic series by Sarah Biglow. This is another action-packed urban fantasy, with paranormal elements, and interwoven with crime drama, mystery, suspense, magic, danger, tension, intrigue, good vs evil, sinister forces, and more.
I really recommend reading the first book in the series, Spring’s Calling, before embarking on this adventure- as there are references in this story to events that took place in the first book, as well as recurring characters- so having all that information on board will greatly enhance your reading experience of this story.
It’s been 3 months since the fate of the world hang in the balance, and Ezri averted the apocalypse and saved the day (Book One). She has taken her place on the magical community’s council, as well as working on balancing her responsibilities as a police officer, with her duty to the magical community. When young girls begin disappearing, Ezri is on the case. Her investigation sees her teaming up with FBI Agent Cartwright, and being led back to the order responsible for all the chaos in book one. Can she survive another round with the sinister forces? You will have to read this book to find out. It’s definitely worth the read.
I’m really enjoying this series and am looking forward to more ‘Seasons of Magic’ stories!

Thank you, Sarah Biglow!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second of the Seasons of the Magic series and I find myself enjoying this series a lot. It is full of action, interesting characters and keeps the readers on the hook till the very end.
Ezri is on another case with her friend Jacquie, cousin Desmond and other members of the authority. There are children who are missing one after another. The video footage shows them disappearing. Ezri has to use all her magic, her power and her strength to trace these missing children. She pairs up with an FBI agent Cartwright to follow the trail of the whisperers who will eventually lead her to the people who have been kidnapping the children. We get to know about other magical communities in this book, like the African and the Hispanic people who follow magic in their own accord and the friction between different communities.
I love this book, which has both a thriller and a fantasy element to it. In fact, even without the fantasy element, this book and the characters would have been equally exciting. Ezri comes across as a strong-willed independent woman whom everyone can rely on, the savior which the western magic descendants need. Overall a very good read, full of twists and turns! A good sequel to the first book! I am hoping there will be two more in this series, and cannot wait to read the third!

I loved following Ezri and her partner Jacquie as they worked meticulously and efficiently to solve their case. They were thorough and I loved their personalities. You would think after saving the world, you would get a break. Unfortunately that’s not the case for Ezri Trenton. She’s taken her seat on the Council and is trying to find balance between her personal life and being a detective. Some girls start disappearing in the vicinity and when one of them turns out to be her partner’s niece, Ezri jumps on the case. Turns out they are part of the magical community as well and this leads Ezri to the dark underbelly of the city. Heading into dangerous situations again, she learns that the Order of Samael is not finished with her. Can she survive round two?

A story filled with action and magic, it also had the added mystery of trying to figure out who took the girls. Another book to keep you on the edge of your seat. With wonderful characters and an amazing storyline, this is definitely a must read.

Summer’s Stolen (Seasons of Magic Book 2) by Sarah Biglow – Review by Cindy Rushin

Summer's Stolen (A Seasons of Magic urban Fantasy Novel)Summer’s Stolen by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The fun never stopped for Ezri as she continued her journey to becoming the chosen one. The second installment of Ezris story started out with a mystery and continued with some intrigue and suspense. Ezri continued to grow in her powers and in her role as the savior for all her community. This was a really good sequel to the initial novel and I cannot wait to read the next part of Ezri’s story by Sarah Biglow.
