This is my third read from this series and it takes a personal turn for Hani this go round. I love historical books especially because N.L. Holmes writes about it so easily. This as well as the others keep your heart pounding and racing through the suspense. Very enjoyable read!

This is the third book of the series. This starts very dramatically as Lord Hani is through these tombs. This hit so close to now with the pandemic going on it eerie how much of the Universe is similar how the world is now.

I absolutely loved reading the book Scepter of Flint which is the third installment of The Lord Hani Mysteries by N.L. Holmes. Like the others in this series you won’t be disappointed, this book adds more battles, mystery and action to this series. Again, this author is amazing with details either on the characters or storyline, its still amazes me. The plague is currently threatening Lord Hani’s kingdom, and he loves his people, but can he help them all? But as if that isn’t enough there are also tomb robberies, can he figure out who is doing it? This book has so many twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Scepter of Flint (The Lord Hani Mysteries Book 3) By N.L. Holmes 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Scepter of Flint (The Lord Hani Mysteries Book 3) by N.L. Holmes. It is the next story in a series that I have loved since reading the first book. It takes you back to another time and country. I am impressed by the information given about both the time that the characters live in as well as the current events that happen as well. In this story Hani finds himself trying to find out the truth behind a series of tomb robberies. He has to be careful of who he trusts as well as dodging a plague. I love the character of Lord Hani as he is a man who believes in justice and doesn’t want to see anyone unfairly charged. He also has the help of those he cares about and those that he knows he can trust. This is another fast-paced book that kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. Many of the additional characters have been brought forward from the first two books and I enjoy reading about the changes to their lives. There are suspenseful moments as well as sad moments. Don’t miss out on an exciting and entertaining story that you will not want to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

I have enjoyed this series from the first book. This one is no different. Hani is back in this story that is full of action. If you have not read this series, I highly suggest reading all of the previous books. Hani is a great character that is trying to figure out who is behind the tomb robbies plus witnesses are turning up dead. Will he figure out who is truly behind all of it? The twists and turns kept me turning pages wanting to know what was going to happen next. The characters are so supportive and made the story realistic. You don’t want to miss this book. I highly recommend it.

Holmes – Review by Bobbi Wagner
During the Great Jubilee of the Aten, a mysterious series of tomb robberies takes place, and witnesses begin to die. With plague ravaging the palace, where Hani’s daughter is a physician, and Egypt’s ally, Naharin, collapsing into the hands of a usurper, Hani must make sense of what is happening. And who in high places is his real enemy
N.L. Holmes is the pen name of a professional archaeologist who received her doctorate from Bryn Mawr College. She has excavated in Greece and in Israel, and taught ancient history and humanities at the university level for many years. She has always had a passion for books, and in childhood, she and her cousin (also a writer today) used to write stories for fun.
Today, since their son is grown, she lives with her husband, three cats and a dog. They split their time between Florida and northern France, where she gardens, weaves, plays the violin, dances, and occasionally drives a jog-cart. And reads, of course.
