Morgan is looking for a good live in nanny for his daughter Ciara. Well his best friend so happens to have a little sister Blake who seems to be the perfect fit. Morgan is very protective of his daughter, as her mother is an actress and really doesn’t want anything to do with Ciara. That is until she gets married and decides she wants to try and be mother of the year. Morgan already has full custody and refuses any visits that aren’t supervised. Blake wasn’t planning on falling in love with anyone or have children, until she meets Ciara, and Morgan.<br />It’s a slow romance but oh so good. It will give you many laughs, and smiles until your cheeks hurt. What a beautiful story!

Mr. Barsins’ Toy Emporium by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Jaimie Salmon-Colburn

Mr. Barsins' Toy EmporiumMr. Barsins’ Toy Emporium by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is such a cute book! I got it for my 8 year old, but after reading it all together by 11 year old enjoyed it as well! I have gotten and read a few of this authors books and I must say that you can’t go wrong with any of her stuff. She’s such a wonderful children’s book author!! I can’t wait to read more with my kids from her. This small children’s chapter book takes place in Mr. Barsins’ Toy Emporium. This toy shop is a world a magical world where imaginary friends are real. The book follows four children in their quest for imagination and adventure. A world where it’s all four season and there are creatures all around. Lily, Jack, Audrey, and Nick are all drawn to the Emporium in different ways, but their stories slowly connect at the shop. The book is full of magic and adventures, but like everything there is a price to pay for the imaginary friends and it isn’t money! This book captures you in it’s grip and you just can’t wait to read it. It only took a couple days for my children and I to read and that was with us taking turns reading chapter by chapter.

When I tell you, I inhaled this book. I absolutely inhaled it. Cruel Love picks up right where we were left at the end of Cruel Hate. (Man, that cliffhanger!) While there are some obstacles for the characters to overcome, they overcome them quickly and lead you to exactly where you want to see them. Except for the latest cliffhanger! Setting you up perfectly for the next installment! I’m dying to find out what happens next!

Wild Lavender (Heart & Hand Series Book 1) by Nicole E. Kelleher – Review by Barbara Bohls

Wild Lavender (Heart & Hand, #1)Wild Lavender by Nicole E. Kelleher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is a great escape from the reality of every day life. You will be swept away into a historical fantasy romance. The book will have you turning pages to find out what happens. Not only is the story about romance but, there is adventure, secrets, second chances, mystery, and evolution of characters. You will want to know what happens when two people who met once and couldn’t forget the other one, meet again. It will have you wondering what is going to happen to the traitors in this story and who is it going to affect. Being able to be get lost in the words on the pages and so caught up in the story that you won’t get much done until you finish this book, speaks of how well it was written. This is the first book in the series and it will have you wanting to keep reading every book that follows. I know that I am going to be reading the rest of this series. It has been a long, long time since I have been sucked into a fantasy romance book. I can’t stress enough how amazing this book is and how if you are remotely considering reading, you should just go ahead and do it.

Cruel Love (Hidden Valley Elite #6)Cruel Love by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is amazing and will have you hooked from the jump. There is the mystery, the intrigue, the spice, the love, and the character growth. It picks up right where it needs to. If you haven’t read Cruel Hate, you will want to do so before reading this book or you will not know what is going on. I wasn’t sure what to think going into this book based on how the other one left off. I was not disappointed. It was so worth the wait on every sense of the level. The characters are relatable. You are ale to find traits with all of the that resonate with you. These books keep getting better and better with every single one of them. It is a fast paced read because you are sucked into their world and can’t wait to see what is going to happen and who is going to do what. You are going to find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation. You just want to be able to scream at the characters sometimes because you are so caught up in the moment. If you haven’t read any of this series, I highly recommend that you do. You won’t be disappointed and it will go on your reread pile. I know that every book is on mine. They are just that good.

Cruel Love (Hidden Valley Elite Book 6) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

So this is book 6 in the series:  Aspen and Phoenix continue with some added drama because of the accident. Especially since Phoenix doesn’t remember anything including Aspen and the fact that she is pregnant. Now there is more issues then before because his recovery from the accident takes precedent over everything. Can they survive this traumatic experience and move forward? Read to find out but make sure you read the first two books first. I will let you know that the ending really threw me but I can’t wait to continue reading the series to find out what happens next.

Cruel Love (Hidden Valley Elite Book 6) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Jaimie Salmon-Colburn

Cruel Love (Hidden Valley Elite #6)Cruel Love by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First let me start by saying that this is NOT a stand alone book. You have to read Cruel Hate and I also suggest that you read the prequel Cruel Start as well. Although Cruel Start isn’t NEEDED, it gives you some back story that just makes the overall story that much better! Cruel Love is the continued story of Aspen and Phoenix. In book one (which is left on a huge cliffhanger!) Aspen is pregnant and Phoenix is the father. Phoenix unfortunately loses his memory in an accident. YEARS of memories just wiped out clean. Everyone walks around him on eggshells hiding things “for his own good”. To him everyone is just lying and keeping secrets. Pushing his brain to remember causes headaches and blackouts, so keeping certain things from him for the time being is a must. So what do you do when the father of your child doesn’t even remember you or that you’re pregnant? Eventually Aspen will start to show and there will be no more hiding. Secrets are piling up and the past is also knocking around to come to the surface. Can Aspen deal with the pregnancy alone? Phoenix isn’t any help in his current state. He has to put school and football on hold as is. So how much will they both have to give up? Will she be alone caring for a baby they both wanted to keep before the accident? Things have changed between them and she’s worried about when he finally does get his memory back! Things will heat up and break down on so many levels. This book is so good! I have loved this WHOLE series (Hidden Valley Elite) so far and I can’t wait to read the rest of it!! If you love enemies to lovers with plenty of back and forth heat and banter this one is for you! I suggest reading them ALL and in order because you get to learn about the other characters in the book and how they all line up with each other. The prequels are wonderful small starts too, so read those as well!!! But again in order!! You will not regret it! I know I sure didn’t. 🙂

An amazing set of dystopian type books about fixing what we view as our body issues. A totally creepy Dr. Kite wants to help women fix their issues. The books build on the previous stories and it’s great that they now come together. I found them exciting and thrilling just because of the creepy factor. The characters are easy to relate to. We all have these issues being dealt with and look for easy fixes. This author did a fantastic job with this story. I couldn’t put it down.

Wild For Me (The Balefire Series Book 3) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Barbara Bohls

Wild For Me (Balefire, #3)Wild For Me by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First thing first, this is the third book in the series and each book can be read as a stand alone book. I feel that if you start with book one in the series you will have a better flow but, you don’t have to do that. Each book in the series does a great job at making sure you could pick any of then up and just start reading. Now, for the fun stuff. This book has steam, passion, second chance romance, and obviously the life style of rock n roll. So it has everything to keep you turning pages and not stopping until you finish it. There is humor in this book that actually made me chuckle out loud because you can legit see these things happening in real life. I am not going to say what parts made me giggle because I want you all to experience it for yourselves when you read this book. The character development in this story flows and seems really authentic. The spice is at an amazing level but is still tastefully done. I hope that makes sense. This book has everything in it that I would ever crave from a rockstar romance. It even had things I didn’t know I needed but will now require in other books going forward. This was a quick read because I couldn’t put it down and I know that once y’all start reading it; it will be the same for you. Don’t miss this book or this series, it has become one of my favorites and will be one that I will read over and over again.

Heart’s Rescue (Fallen Hearts) by Meredith Hart – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

I chose this book because I thought the cover was pretty. I realized it wasn’t my type of book, but that didn’t stop me from reading it. I felt like it started off slow so I had a hard time staying focused on the story line. It has an enemies to lovers theme, there is action, danger and drama. I really thought I would like this book. Maybe I just need to give another read through and hopefully find her other books as well to read. There is a twist in this book but I really don’t want to give it away, so I won’t go into much detail about that. If you are anything like me when it comes to picking out books, try this one. Let me know what you think.

LIES-TRUTH-LOVE by Marina Hanna – Review by Barbara Bohls

Lies - Truth - LoveLies – Truth – Love by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book has everything that a reader would want in a romance novel. It makes you ask yourself the question of whether you could continue to love someone after you find out they have lied. Do you want to take that chance on whether they will lie again or even if you are getting the full truth, that is the dilemma that the main female character is facing. The way the story is written, you will feel everything that she is feeling. The words just jump off the pages and turn into emotions that you aren’t prepared for in a book. This is what I loved about the book. I was absolutely able to loose myself in it and kept turning pages because by the 2nd chapter, I was fully invested in what was going to happen. I felt like Olivia was my bestie and we were going to find out what was going on. You also feel yourself rooting for them. Normally when a character lies, I find it hard to forgive them. I struggled with it in this book and you will see why when you read it. I am really trying to not give anything away. Just please, please read this book, you won’t be mad that you did and you want be able to put it down.

The Guardsman (The Olympic Peninsula series Book 2)The Guardsman by Cat Treadgold
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me start off by saying that you don’t NEED to read the first book in this series, BUT I would recommend that you DO! You really get so much more information and backstory on the characters in book one, that will help to understand them in this one a bit. Plus why not just start at the beginning? This book follows Liam who is Ali’s sister from book one. After an explosion (read book 1!!), Liam was thought to be dead for years! Ali and her husband Joe hire an investigator to look into things and by a small chance they find him! Being well into her pregnancy Ali couldn’t go after him, so they sent Joe’s sister Teresa. She wanted to travel and see the world, and this gave her the perfect excuse. Two birds, one stone. Finding him scarred physically and mentally he agrees to come back to the states to stay with his sister while he figures out his next plans for life. Teresa heads back as well and helps Joe and Ali find the perfect place for them and their soon to come twin girls. She finds a great three story compound with a few guest cabins on plenty of land. Being VERY pregnant with twins, she welcomes all the help that both Liam and Teresa provide staying in the guest cabins. Ali and Joe head back to have the babies at the hospital and that leaves Liam and Teresa all alone. Unfortunately Teresa has a few scary accidents, some of which could have killed her. Has she always been so accident prone? Or was someone trying to send a message? Finding a man with a camera on the property they start to think it’s just paparazzi. Liam sets up security and even picks up a couple guard dogs, but these accidents just seem to find her where ever she goes. Even in town! After a man pushes her off a dock into the freezing water, she finally goes back home leaving Liam alone. Liam does everything he can to keep himself busy and keep his mind off Teresa, but even night life in town doesn’t help. Going on a three day hike is his next plan. Ali, Joe, the twins, and Teresa come back to the compound the week he’s heading for his hike and it just happens to be Ali and Liam’s birthday too! With a weekend dinner party planned the house is full with friends, the new nanny, and the twins. Talk about busy, busy! I could go on and on about this book! So much happens! So much suspense! Like who is trying to hurt Teresa? What was Liam doing those three years when everyone thought he was dead? Is he really an assassin? Or spy? And what will become of both Teresa and Liam? Will the past come to bite him in the butt? And will Teresa find her calling?? Will she go back to Paul? Or maybe the yoga instructor! You have got to check this book out!! I personally can’t wait to read the next book!

Killer Smile by Allan Evans – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is an amazing book!!! It took me a little bit to get into I will admit. I couldn’t put it down after I got into it. In fact, I hated to put it down.  Cade Dawkins is a State Patrol Investigator for Minnesota. He doesn’t resemble a cop but boy does he know how to be one. He is giving an opportunity to run a task force but really its just him at least a for a little bit. It becomes evident that there are some serial killers lurking around and its up to him and his team to find them and put them where they belong. There are twists throughout the book and I for one was very shocked about the ending. I never imagined it would end how it did. I feel like I need to mention that there is another book before this book “Killer Blonde”. I have a feeling that I should have read that one first but I definitely will read it now.

There are twists throughout the book and I for one was very shocked about the ending. I never imagined it would end how it did. I feel like I need to mention that there is another book before this book “Killer Blonde”. I have a feeling that I should have read that one first but I definitely will read it now.

Love & Stilettos by Evelyn Lindell – Review by Barbara Bohls

Love & StilettosLove & Stilettos by Evelyn Lindell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book took me a bit to get into but once I was into it, I was hooked. It does start a little slow but it picked up and I didn’t look back. It did start flowing easily and it became a very easy quick read. It is written from the leading females point of view. There is no switching, which worked in this book; but I do like to have both points of view. The chapters have titles so you get to ponder what they mean for that chapter. The betrayal and scheming in this story is really what got me hooked. I love a good smack down as you will. I love seeing nasty characters fall. lol. The things that Mia goes through is a lot for any one person and it does draw you in to see what else she is going to have go deal with and how she is going to handle it. There is humor in this book as well which is needed when everything keeps happening. Like I said earlier, it does start out slow but picks up and you won’t want to put it down. I would definitely not over look this book. It was a good read.

Russian and Royally Complicated (The Crowned Hearts Series Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee and Christy Anderson – Review by Barbara Bohls

Russian and Royally ComplicatedRussian and Royally Complicated by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in this series. I would highly recommend reading these books in order as they will make more sense. I want to spill all the beans about this book but I don’t want to give away spoilers. The enemies to lovers forced proximity genre that this book has, gives a fresh take on it that makes it feel like you’re reading that troupe for the first time. Just like with the first book these authors writing together is seamless. It really feels like one author wrote the whole book. Not only do you have enemies to lovers, you also have secrets that are boiling to come out and tons of steam. The main characters have growth not only for themselves but there is growth together. I love a story where you can see the growth from all avenues. This book is written very, very well and will keep you turning pages to see what happens next, whether that is the amazing steam that seems to just come off the pages or the secrets that you know are coming. There is an air of secrecy in this book that leads the reader to know that she big things are going to be revealed in this book. I highly recommend this book and the first one to anyone who is looking for an escape from reality for a bit. You will find yourself caught up in what is going on that you won’t want to deal with anything other than turning the next page.
