I am a big fan of paranormal books and this one just joined my favorites list. I found the plot to be my favorite part of it. A Mage detective agency in the inner city among the ordinaries (is that like muggles?) . The story was action packed and pulled me in from the start. I found myself fascinated with her magic and the vines/thorns. The whole rival storyline was mysterious and part of why I had to keep reading. What was going to happen? This is a pretty cool book for paranormal fans. I hope to read more from this author.
This series has always been very entertaining. This is book 1. You can read them stand alone but I recommend reading them in order. Emma is a very courageous and independent young woman. She may have some fear but she doesn’t show it. She’ll get to the bottom of mysteries. In this one, she’s working to figure out what happened to her momma. I love the characters. They are so well-written. Dora, Jeremy, Tony, etc. are relatable and feel like they could be your family. Some delicious recipes are also included with this book. The plot can get you right in the heart because it will get all your emotions. This is Emma’s family mystery that we are solving. A wonderful book that will be a classic. Meant for the younger crowd but the older people will love it too.

Agent Red is one of the most powerful suspense books I’ve read this year. Teagan is just trying to live her life and all of a sudden she is sucked back into her prior life as a spy. I found the story to contain lots of drama, adventure, suspense and mystery. It had everything I like to find in a book to keep me intrigued, and I was from the beginning. I found the characters well-written. I felt like I was reading about real people. They were very relatable. This was a fantastic book that I believe will enjoyed by others. I highly recommend it.

Be careful what you wish for. Bax wanted something remarkable to happen in his life. A creepy looking homeless guy gave him a ring and now all kinds of drama is coming into his life thanks to the Jinn. This is quite the entertaining story. For YA Fantasy, it will keep them enthralled. I couldn’t put it down. I had to finish it in one night. It was that good. I love how the young man was attached to him family. He wanted to do the right thing but still messed up. He tried to to fix things. The tone of the story keeps you interested and involved. The characters are very well-written. Overall, its a terrific story that anyone who reads it will enjoy. I’ll be passing it on to my friend’s son.
Dinosaur Friends: A Present for the Volcano This is a very cute book of friendship and science. Conifer and Spike are two friends that see a volcano erupt. They are trying to get out of the area. Spike has an idea. They try to improve the volcano’s mood with a gift. Making a “necklace” for the volcano ends up saving them from the lava. The story involves dinosaurs, volcanos and rocks. What more could kids ask for. Parents will see the kids get some fun out of science reading it. It’s a win win. The illustrations are bright and colorful. Bite size text. It’s the perfect book for storytime.
Dinosaur Friends: Saving Conifer’s Eggs A forest fire threatens Conifer’s eggs. Spike helps Conifer figure out how to safely move them. Again, the kids are learning science in a fun way as they read about the dinosaurs trying to figure out how to get out. A win win because my grandson loved this book. He’s pretty black/white in his thinking so he took it a step further: how can they float? They are very heavy. These books are really good for starting conversations.

The author has written a beautiful memoir of her life. Yes, there are sad parts to her life but she focuses on learning and moving on. Like most of us, she has good and bad times. She overcame a heart issue. She includes beautiful pictures that also tell a story of her travels. I do like the fact that she gives you the basic facts to update you to the lastest in this, the 3rd of her memoirs. She puts herself out there and shares it all with the reader. I like the fact that she is still encouraging to the reader. It is a story that I will not likely forget. Iwill have to go back and read the first two books now. Well done, author.

Oh, this author knows how to write a paranormal romance that will please a reader. Romano and Raven are the latest pairing in the Masters of the Consulate series. The drama, romance, adventure, and mystery all make for tremendously entertaining reading. Vampires, wolves, and witches with the mob thrown in are involved in the crazy war to find out who is behind trying take out the Vampires. Descalia, Lucianna, Embry, Lucas, Trentino, and others came to fill out this intriguing tale of love and suspense. The plot was enthralling. I was engaged from the beginning. I love this series because you can pick up where you left off just like you went to visit an old friend. Oh, but there is a cliffhanger and I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. This is one of my favorites. You must read this. It would get more than 5 stars if I could give it.

I found this to be the sweetest billionaire romance. Our heroine is a sweet working girl. She’s just trying to get ahead. The sister of her boss hooks her up on a blind date with his billionaire friend. The whole “blind date” restaurant concept, what a crappy way to have a date. These two were pretty good sports. I found their chemistry charming and entertaining. He doesn’t want gold diggers and she doesn’t want to be viewed as one. They have some issues to work out. The tone of the story is contemporary and very engaging. I couldn’t put the story down. I’m looking forward to reading the series. Great romance that I recommend.

Oh my heavens, this is quite an entertaining romantic comedy. Winston and Marissa are a couple that grew up together and dated. They broke up and ended up together again, due to circumstances beyond their control. Winston has come home again to help his mom. Marissa is in a tizzy thinking it’s all about her. The adventures are many. They help solve a mystery. I love the humor in this. I love a good romcom. The humor, romance and a touch of mystery make the plot very entertaining. I found myself intrigued and wanting to keep reading. I loved the characters and how relatable they are. What a fun story. I will be looking for more from this author.

“How can you be sick of superheroes?” Ashali is in Florida for Spring Break and sees reports everywhere of the Blue Horseman. She goes out with her friend to a bar and this hottie, Jase, sits down. Ashali is a strong, independent character with a few issues but she goes for Jase. After a little conversation, he invites her to see his parents archeological collection (uh huh, we’ve all heard that.) She doesn’t know his secret identity. He’s a millionaire with a secret. But, alas, she is kidnapped. This is where the rom com drama begins. I loved this story. The humor, mystery, and romance make for a story that will have you chuckling. My family though I had lost it due to my laughing while I was reading. The characters are well-written. If all superhero’s could be that hot, I’d be in trouble more often. The plot is well-developed. A quick read that you’ll enjoy.

This is a truly classic book series. First, let me say that I LOVE the fact that the author includes cultural facts about Hawaii and its people. The stories are romances that feel absolutely classic. They all deal with a factor of guilt over their friend, Eddie’s surfing death. The emotions that are felt in this story can be powerful. Keoni, Declan, and Claudia are characters that many can relate to as well as their partners. I did find it fascinating to read romance stories based in the 1960’s as that’s not usually a common time chosen. It was interesting to read the descriptions of everything. I found the stories enthralling, interesting and couldn’t put them down until I finished the last one. I hope the author will do more. A fantastic read that I believe many romance readers will enjoy.

Oh my, my favorite cat series is back. The Kitty Beret Café Mystery series is fantastic. Both humorous, funny, mysterious and full of cat antics that make the books so darn entertaining. This book was just as entertaining as the previous. There are cat antics at the cafe; grandma; a rescue cat cat pageant with a little murder on the side and some sexy detective flirting. The characters are just as quirky as can be. They make me of the town I grew up in. They are so relatable and remind me of some people I know. The plot line runs smooth even with some plot twists in it. I love the humor and cat antics. The whole idea of a cat café is so cool and unique. The tone is fun, engaging and just right for a cozy mystery. This is a series that you should try out.

4 out of 5 stars I loved this story. Being an older, divorced woman, I love revenge stories. The chemistry between John and Mariah is perfect. However, her mom stole the show. Humor, romance, revenge and fun made for a good read. It needed human voices to narrate. I did find the AI read to fast and really had no inflection. Other than that small glitch, good audio book.

This story is such a beautiful one. Max and Skylar come across each other in this town due to Maddie, Skylar’s daughter. Maddie. She will crack you up. She is a very inquisitive 8 year old. She is precious and precocious. Mom needs a male companion, according to her (not a boyfriend or a husband). The story is both serious and funny. I found the story and the characters relatable. The small town and it’s gossip chain is just like the town I grew up in. Before you can blink, everyone knows your business. The struggles that Max and Skylar go through in trying to build their relationship is nuts but they do stick with it and come out stronger. This is a couple I want to grow up and be like. The narrator felt a little old voice wise but he did a nice job. I do wish there had been a woman doing the female parts. That would be my only suggestion. It was a wonderful audio story.

Hidden Treasures by M.A. Abraham: A hidden treasure in this anthology, I found this story to be intriguing. Female Drakaina have been shipped to a secluded island for most of their young life to be trained in how to hide among the general population. Nonie, the main teacher, is an elderly Drakaina, wise and astute. She has several centuries of wisdom to share. I found the characters to be perfect role models of strong women. The 3 leading girls, daughters of Trank and Titiana Livingston, are strong and courageous, courtesy of their grandmother, Nonnie. They, along with the other girls, spend many years training, questioning and coming up with methods to help solve their own challenges on protecting other females from Drakes and Dragon Hunters. This is a fantastic story: strength, courage, overcoming adversity.
Clara’s Story by CA King: This story is both a heartbreaking and beautiful story of survival. Clara experiences something no parent should ever experience. Her daughter is in a devastating accident and is the only survivor. The injuries will change Clara’s life and marriage forever. The story is well-written and developed because you can feel the powerful emotions in the story. Clara, her husband, and the doctor are all characters that are very relatable to. The plot line of the story goes with a glitch. The only thing I would fix is to have part 1. I did feel like I was missing the beginning of the story. However, as Part 2, this story will both rip your heart out and make you smile with happy tears. It’s beautiful and the author did a fantastic job.

Oh my, this is a beautiful love story! Josh & Mavis fell in love as teens. A bad decision brought about a chain reaction that affected their lives. This story is written so well that you feel all the emotions as you read. You feel the pain, anger, love, and joy. The characters are very relatable. We have all made mistakes in relationships. To read about Josh & Mavis’s relationship challenges shows a bit of a redemption that helps show love can be great even in second chances. They show love is worth the fight. Tess, however, is a character that I just wasn’t fond of. What a great job writing an antagonist that annoys so well. It’s a terrific debut novel. I hope we’ll see more from this author.
I found this story to be very interesting and quite intriguing. Azreya is a mythological story of a priestess who grows up to watch over her people. She leads an amazing life and has many challenges. The facts included by the author help to understand the story. It feels like South American folklore/mythology. The writing keeps you wanting more because you find yourself waning to know what’s going to happen next as Azreya undergoes tests. The illustrations fit well into the story. This author is one of my favorites as she tries many new things. I hope she does more this way. I will be using this book as reading with my kiddo’s schooling as he gets older. Well done, loved it!

5 out of 5 stars Oh my goodness~! I loved everything about this book as an audio. First, let me start with narration. Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister are the perfect pair for this author’s books. They make the chemistry of the story explosive. The tone of the story is sexy and smoldering. The author’s writing is always a treat. Yes, this is an MC but the story also has a good vs evil edge to it. I am a huge fan of the author and the MC because its a bike group trying to go right. I love the fact that its growing into a family group. In this story, Peg felt so real, he just wanted what everyone else had. He was very considerate and a gentleman for Darcy’s feelings. He also was there to protect her. Darcy is kickass even through all the challenges she had to go through. She struggled with a lot and still came out a survivor. Terrific story. Another winner for this author. I can’t wait for the next.

The Charm Collector series is fast becoming one of my favorite urban fantasy book series. Wicked Treasure is book 2 and is just as much, if not more, exciting as Diabolical Sword (book 1). Harlow and Caspian are now on the run trying to locate magic treasure related to their friend, Cutlass. Kayda is pissed because Harlow ghosted her. Though, not much time for that because the Collective is creating chaos in Luma. There is drama, mystery and adventure no matter where you turn. I found myself on the edge of my seat, unable to stop reading because I had to keep going…one page more…what’s going to happen next..This story is so well-written. It engages you right from the start. The characters involved are so quirky and full of personality that you can’t help but love them all. I love following the conversations with the sword. The author builds a wonderful world with the story through her descriptions and art of story-telling. I will eagerly be awaiting book 3 of the series. Highly recommend this series.

The story has romance, suspense, drama. It’s a light read that romantic suspense lovers will enjoy. The characters feel very relatable. The plot flowed very smooth and even had a twist or two. An entertaining read that makes a weekend. Book 2 of the series, this can be a stand alone or read with the series.

This is one of my favorite mystery series. Logan always brings a great story. I love the descriptions of everything in the story. It helps to build the picture and set the stage for the murder. The author did a wonderful job with researching owl information. The story was very engaging. What really makes it the best story are the twists and turns. A very well-written story that I recommend.
“Okay, then let’s prove it. Prove that it didn’t actually happen-and won’t happen again. That it’s a residual effect from the hit or when I fell. Or maybe it was a tourist. Some woman who could throw their voice.” This is one of my favorite lines in the story. Nick and Julie are in Venice on a vacation. One of the museums they check out has the painting called “paradise” and Nick swears he hears a woman’s voice coming from the painting talking to him in his head. This starts the best thriller/suspense I’ve read since The Davinci Code by Dan Brown came out. I was engaged and involved in the book right from the beginning. The story goes back and forth from 1592 to current times in Venice, Italy. With a wide cast of characters, there is something for every reader to relate to. The adventure can be intense with some twist and turns thrown in. If you love thriller/suspense, you should check this out. I will be eagerly awaiting book 2 of this series. Well done!

I found this book to quite entertaining. Leo is doing his best to care for his family. He is suffering blackmail by boss. The challenges and drama abound within the whole story. I was wrapped up in the story from the beginning. Leo is they type of character that pulls you in by engaging. I found my favorite parts where watching Leo trying to protect his family. Everything he did was for them. It’s a wonderful debut book and I hope to see more from this author.

“Dex’s father took his hand, tried to pull the ring off again. ‘It’s the ring! Where’d you get this? It’s evil magic.” That sentence explains the story. I love a good book that can pull you in and just keep stringing you along to the end. This one did just that by keeping the story adventurous and challenging. The family and school drama itself made for some wonderful writing. The series will flow better if you read the first book in the series. This book is #1.5 in the order. The way the story pretty much picks up and continues from the last book is smooth sailing. The author throws in a few plot twists that can surprise you. What makes the book great is that the story picks up but the POV changes. Fantastic tale that left me with a cliffhanger. Time to read the next book. If you love paranormal romance, you might like this. It is geared to young adults but the adults enjoy it too.

This book is one heck of an adventure. I found that the adventure just grabs you from the beginning. Troy is still my favorite character. He’s trying to adjust from being out of prison and finds himself fighting a war. Non-stop action, great dialogue, intriguing characters all make for a winner. This is book 2 of the series and I’m looking forward to reading book 3.

This is an incredible story. The characters are very well-developed and well-written. There is lots of conversation in this story, whether it’s inner chatter or among others. Kieran and Quinn have an amazing chemistry. The secrets being kept from the other and the challenges they are trying to overcome keep you roped in from the very start of the book. I found the plot to an intriguing tale with many twists along the way. Though written as a stand alone, I will be looking for the others in this series. This was my first foray into the Omegaverse and I’m enjoying the ride so far. Great book. I highly recommend.

Emma is such a brave and strong young woman. She is not afraid of much and will take risks that most won’t. Her investigative skills are fantastic. Her little black notebook has many secrets that are broken. The characters in are so well-developed. You can feel the interest between Emma and Jeremy. The opening of the book will grab you and not let go until you are finished. I also love how the author writes several subplots within the story (plot twists, if you may), and they end up fitting like they were natural. This is book 4 of the series and it just keeps getting better. An enjoyable, quick read that young sleuths will love.
This author has created an outstanding series. This is book 4 and it is full of almost everything you could want about Vikings. The author is very knowledgeable about the subject and it shows in the writing. Kara is one strong, brave and courageous woman. She has had to be during the war. It was great to read about Cub and Finn. I really enjoyed reading about Kara’s adventures. The book is exciting, has unexpected twists and turns. The characters are well-developed, even down to the soldiers without white. I feel like I’m reading a history book with fun. Learning and enjoying reading, two benefits that I have received from this series. I will be eagerly awaiting the next installment. I highly recommend this series. You will want to start with book 1.

There is always someone eager to take advantage….” This truly sums up the story of Celia and Gabriel. A story of love, lust, romance and danger. Gabriel, doesn’t view himself as worthy of marriage for Celia. Celia is a high-spirited woman carrying baggage that she doesn’t share with anyone…and she often finds herself in trouble. The chemistry in this story could burn down the barn. Their sexy flirting is what keeps you laughing because they just need to admit (not so easy to do for the time period). As some may say, Celia should have been born in another period. She’s noone’s property. The story is well-developed with two storylines that intertwine nicely with no glitches. There is even a plot twist or too. A quick, fun read with a bit of steam.

PHENOMENAL! This suspenseful story knocked my socks off. I was not expecting that. I loved the twists and turns. The narration was a tad monotone. A little more excitement and variation in the voices would have made this perfect. A plot full of action and twists, slimy characters that you love to hate, even ones you thought you’d love but found out they suck too. This story is worth the listen.
