What a fun and entertaining book. The characters are lively and feel real. Caspian is a sweet young boy with a sense of curiosity that makes every Unbirthday fun. His grandfather gives him very cool gifts. The pictures are bright, colorful and keeps childrens attention as you are reading. I read this one to my grandson and it was a big hit. A definite recommendation for story time and for any child’s collection.

Poor Toby! Through a series of misadventures that are all the cat’s fault, he gets in such trouble. Stop following the cat! Toby is a sweet dog that makes some not so good choices. I enjoyed this story. It’s happy, fun and gives a cute giggle. I was reading this to my grandson as we were waiting in the ER. It’s a story with potential for great story voices as you read aloud. The characters are so cool. My grandson loved Toby. He kept telling him to stay away from that silly cat. He thought the HuDad should have listened more. There are so many lessons to learn from this story. So much potential in one story. I love these stories to read to my grandchildren. The flow went very smooth. Great book. We are looking forward to more about Tobey.

This book was intense. I loved the action and thrills. From the very beginning, you were sucked right into the gunfight at the bar. I could just picture it. The scene was set up that well. The character descriptions were fantastic. It was a spy thriller in a book. Tremendous job!! One of my favorites for this year. I started with book 2 so Nadia’s TBI is a little confusing to me. It makes the plot a little choppy but it’s still a great flow. HERA seems to work effortlessly together to find out what’s going down and who is in charge to get them. I was on the edge of the seat the whole time. It would get more than 5 stars if I could give them. Loved it!!!

This is one of the most fascinating stories I have read this year. The premise of the magnetic pole shift causing hidden powers to come out in some people and not others is excellent. I’m a huge X-men fan and I have to say that this story felt a little like I was meeting a new branch. All the powers coming out and the characters made this story fascinating and uniquely entertaining for me. I found that I was sucked in at page 1 and couldn’t put it down until I was done. It had a terrific flow. The plot twists were great and unexpected. I have to say that I’m excited and eagerly awaiting book 2. You need to read this. One of my favorites for this year. New author and now a favorite for me. Loved this book!

Like Vegas, what happens the week she’s at his place, stays there. Oh, can they keep it casual? This was a fun romance that will make you giggle while fanning yourself because there’s a little steam. Oh mamma, he’s a hot pro athlete. Let’s play!! Entertaining and flirty are two words that come to mind to describe this book. I loved Kendall and Pete. They try to remain good but being naughty sounds so much better. The whole tone of the story is just perky and fun. It’s a quick weekend read that fits right in there when you need a quickie to read. Loved it!

Cat has returned in this sequel to Bake Off. It’s a fun read. Cat and her family along with her cousin, Robyn, have come down to the family baker in New Mexico. She gets to me Aunt JoJo and GG. She learns more about the family history of her baking, the ethics of using her gift and get to help with a bakery bake-off between the 3 bakeries in town. She and Robyn find trouble to get into. There is some baking mishaps and adventures. I’m not sure these girls could find any more trouble (eh, maybe they could). It’s a hilarious and family friendly romp through the New Mexico town. The plot is so entertaining. You can’t help but smile. It makes you think the author infuses smiles into her writing. The characters are familiar, and you’ll find yourself rooting for them and yelling at the book when they go the wrong direction. I love the fact that Mom finally admits here mistake and shows that she’s human too. It’s a really good theme with the book. I can’t wait for book 3. An entertaining read for all ages.

This is a different retelling of the story of Apollo and Hyacinth. I found it interesting, to say the least. The story is intriguing and very engaging if you are into Greek myths. Apollo, Temi, and the rest of the Gods are so full of personality that you are waiting for lightning bolts to fly (from Zeus). There are some choppy spots but it does all come together. I did enjoy the plot twists thrown into the story because you had no clue they were coming. It is a story written for the young adults but all ages may enjoy this. I recommend it.

Fast cars, a synthetic AI with a body, and a cyborg man with trust issues… this makes for a terrific book. It was kind of like a version of Fast Five on Mars. It’s a gang town called Frog Lick. I love the name, btw. Snapper has some major issues. He’s a little cyborg and a little human. He, Jack and Drag have all been injured and had parts of themselves replaced. Then the medical unit left and now they are on their own. Gina is an AI with brains and she’s just trying to fit in but Snapper has a bug up his butt that she’s a spy, especially after she designs the new engine. This is where the action kicks into high speed. You have cars, girls (Arti is spurned and not so happy about it), and other gangs trying to sabotage. The plot is fast and keeps you engaged. You just want to keep reading to see what happens next. The characters all felt real. You felt their problems, even Arti. She just needed to move on. The tone of the story is really set to the gangs. Talk of theft, sabotage, rivals, injury, etc. It’s a book I’d recommend for the romance lovers who like action romance. I’m looking forward to book 2 of the series. I’d love to see Drag’s story.

This is a wonderful story of a young woman trapped by society’s standards; yet, she decides for herself to stand up and make things happen. Her friend, Sebastian, who has loved her for years, goes with her on a venture to find the Wish-Eater book. This book brings bad and good things. They go through many misadventures together. There is so much that happens but I can’t share it. You are just going to have to read this story. It reads almost like a fable. An enjoyable fable. The characters are relatable. There is your mish mosh of crazy, cranky, lovable and many more. The emotions will be felt in this story also as Elodie goes through different seasons of her life. I enjoyed the plot of the story. It felt a little fairytailish. I highly recommend it.

This was a fascinating story. The last thing Greer remembers was being on the streets of Paris. When she wakes, she’s on a filthy boat with lots of girls heading for a convent in New Orleans to get married off. At least that’s what they think. Theron and the others come in the night while they are sleeping. The others barely remember anything but Greer, somehow, remembers Theron visits. Greer tries to get to the bottom of this mystery as Sister Francis is having the girls meet the men they will be marrying. Nothing is as it seems. There are secrets everywhere. Plot twists will get you when you aren’t looking. This is a story that will get you when you aren’t expecting it. Vampires, Demons, and a few other surprises just make this POP! One of the best paranormal stories I’ve read in a bit. The characters aren’t all sugar coated and agreeing with everything. There are several characters like Sylvie that show their strength as they story goes along. Greer shows how much courage, resilience, and power she has. She is totally putting together a rebellion. Theron shows his love for Greer. The story was very good. The plot twists were in there so well that you didn’t see them coming. BAM, plot twist! These girls are butt kickers and survivors. The whole tone of the story is surviving. I highly recommend this series. This is book 1. I can’t wait to get book 2.

This book was phenomenal. I found that once I started reading, I didn’t want to put it down. Dr. Joanie Fisher is having a rough life when she learns that her grandfather is believed to have passed away so her life is changed overnight. She has more many than she could have dreamed of and a manor at the top of the hill in a small little town that has a myster….missing children. Joanie’s research is on CLS (Chronic Lycanthropy Syndrome). With the aid of her friend Lonna, and a couple of men with CLS, she throws herself into figuring out what is going on and why because all trails lead back to trouble. The author wrote a story that has kind of a scary plot considering we are coming off covid and the vaccines. Who knows what gets put in vaccinations. Big Pharma is always suspicious. That gave the story a really great mysterious edge. I had a hard time guessing who was truly behind it. Every time I thought I figured it out…wrong! Thrills, chills, and little suspense. Yes, it’s an urban fantasy that has terrific characters. Lonna and Kayla felt like spoiled brats. Joannie was pretty strong for all she went through. Lots of betrayal. The old adage was true in this story: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I enjoyed the plot running smoothly. This is is book 1 of the series. I am highly recommending the series.

This was a wonderful fantasy story. A romance with Ember and Gavyn that went from enemies to lovers. Ember’s just trying to survive and ends up getting caught by Gavyn. He has her help his sister. There is plenty of action, intrigue, magic and more within the story. The secondary characters are plenty. Ember is a survivor. Basically starving, she can still kick guard butt. Her mom is murdered so she wants to find out who did it and needs help. Because she is caught, it takes the longer way to get there. I found the plot had a few choppy spots but overall it was easy to follow and very engaging. The characters were well-developed. It felt like a fantasy world. You could feel the magic around you. The descriptions were vivid enough that it was easy to visualize the story as you went along. A fun story for fantasy lovers.

Satan’s Devils has been one of my favorite MC series. It was the first one I started on. Targeting Dart has been so much fun to listen to on audio. I have enjoyed listening to this pair since book 1. They have the perfect voices for these books. You hear the sultry; the lustiness; the gruffness; and all the other feelings. It makes the story even better to hear and experience aloud. The author writes terrific stories with characters that are so unique. They each have their own character. The narrators can bring them each to life and the best part is that they do several of them in the readings. I love this book because I got all I loved in an audio book: great story, fun narrators, and characters that kick butt. Highly recommend.

Dahlia always finds trouble, or it finds her. It doesn’t really matter because there it is. Dahlia is fighting the apocalypse. We have dragons and other mysterious creatures coming out of the shadows. Dahlia’s kicking ass while trying to save humanity. I have read this series from the beginning and also listened to it on audiobook. Audiobook has made it come to life. Dahlia is a sassy, saucy character that you can feel when you listen to the audio. The narrator knows just how to read the story. It was full of life, action and excitement, with a dash of romance. What a terrific series that I’ll miss. I think everyone should listen to this series.

This is one of the best romantic series you’ll read this year. Every story in this series will touch your heart. A little bit of Hallmark movie in each. This author writes in such a way that you are engage right from the start. You are feeling every emotion, from happiness to the angst of couple trouble. You’ll find yourself rooting for them when trouble arises and cheering when they figure out what to do. From waitresses with hidden talents and childhood secrets to billionaire heiresses that get over lost loves, there is a story for everyone in this collection. The characters feel like they could be your family and friends. After reading about Cold Creek, I want to go find this imaginary town. It sounds like Heaven. The plots are original in that they are never the same. Each character couple has their own set of troubles, unique and set for them. It wets it apart from your boring cookie-cutter formula romance. This author writes original, fun and modern romance that has me actually enjoying reading romance again. Another favorite series for 2022. Oh my goodness, this story was beautiful. A coming of age for Margaret during tough times. Her father tried hard to keep her under his thumb but couldn’t because Margaret was pretty strong willed. She though she was making bad choices after losing Eugune to the war. Two more failed marriages and the death of her sister and a few other losses and misadventures, Margaret is pissed and ready to get back on her feet. She is wanting to be a good role model for her daughters. The story is just so beautifully written. The flow is smooth. The characters meld together. Her father is so overbearing and its interesting to see that some of her choices, such as Joe, end up being like her father. The main question of the story is can she forgive? That’s hard to answer because I’m not sure that I would want to forgive my father for that kind of behavior. But her brother Edsol is such a good soul and he’s like the good angel on her shoulder, right there to remind her to forgive. The characters are so well developed. You have good ones like Eugene and Franny; to bad ones like Joseph to her father. You felt like you knew them because you could just feel them as you read. It’s hard to describe but you felt like they were people you knew. I still can’t decide about Leland. He did what was good for June at the time but as a mom that kind of irks me. This is a fantastic story that I would give more than 5 stars if I could. You need to read this. Hit that one-click, you know you want to. I highly recommend this story.
This book is a fast paced romance with lots of flirting and spice. Morgan has a reputation for being a ladies man. He leaves a trail of broken hearts everywhere…until he met Vandana. Morgan is a famous yacht designer and he’s looking for the best PR person, Vandanna. She is the best in what she does. Her life is falling apart. She learns her husband is playing for the other team. The director who wants to blackball him is her first boyfriend. He ties to watch over her, but they will never work. And her business partner, I can’t even explain him. She is just lost. She agrees to meet Morgan and do PR for him but little do they know, there are forces against them. Can they get through this and face the attraction that has been building? Can they get through the bad PR that pops up? I recommend you read this to find out. I loved this book. The story is strong, fast, full of action and romance. You also get a little tour of Monaco and some other areas and Morgan’s family. The characters are so well-defined. Olivier, Morgan’s manager, is a jerk and you can just tell. A few others are defined that well also. You can feel the emotion and chemistry between Van and Morgan. It is just so palpable. The book is so good, yet I can’t share anymore because it will give away key things. I can tell you that you’ll love it. Well-written, well-done! My favorite scene was the whole interaction around Van and Prince Khaled. A definite 5 in my book.

Here we are at book 5, the end of the series. Dahlia is one of my favorite characters. She is part dragon but she is also strong, brave and resilient. The apocalypse has finally come and the poo has hit fan. She is trying to save the world. She has so many things going wrong all at once that would make most people collapse. Old enemies return while she is trying to find her missing team. This author has again written a terrific book. A fantastic finish to the series. There is lots of action from the beginning to pull you in and keep you going all the way to the end of story. She writes in such away that the details make it easy to visualize this. The plot continues to flow smooth. There is no choppiness to the story. It flows well throughout. The characters each have their own unique personalities. I love the fact that the snark is in Dahlia. She gives as good as she gets. Her team does as well. This is one of the best fantasy series I have read. I’m sad to see ti done but I will be reading more of her books in the future.

This is a book young adult fantasy fans may enjoy. A little time travel, a bit of rival kingdoms and a conflict that will bring hard decisions. Linh and Ruarnon must work together to solve this dilemma. I found this story interesting. The story had lots of details. The characters were very well written and their personalities were pretty well-defined. The plot was intense but choppy at times, a bit hard to follow. Over all, fantasy lovers will enjoy this book.

Oh my goodness, this is book 2 of the Evil Sushi series. Sashimi is a wicked evil mermaid type monster and Aileen is out for revenge. It’s hard to to keep up with who’s more trouble-General Talbot (idiot military) or the Evil Sushi (creeping ocean and more). Aileen, Rod and Ned are facing challenge after challenge. Susy is part of that challenge. They do their best to come up with ways to stop it but it seems their is some evolution going on? Man, I’m loving this story. Aileen is already pissed because Sashimi snacked on her brother Charlie and left him all but dead. Aileen is pretty badass and strong. She’s going to get through this. She has one more brother to protect. She find’s out Susy is being naughty and calls her out. Go, Aileen! Rod deserves better. The writing is such that you root for these guys while hoping the worthless military that is left get eaten. The characters are great. Ned is your average older man just trying to make a living and now disappointed in his kid. Aren’t most of us? The plot flows smooth for going back and forth a bit. The theme throughout the story is conservation and I love how the author took that and ran with it. That ocean life fight back. I can’t wait for book 3 in the series. This book also has a creepiness factor because it just might make me not want to put my feet in the ocean. It’s a really good book and I recommend it. So good and so creepy at times. It will make you think about things.

I loved this story. Eros, the Valentine’s Day God, has a bet with Mother Nature to prove that his job isn’t that easy. She soon finds that it isn’t. Spring is a nursery owner, Alex is her delivery guy. They have know each other since they were kids. They have yet to acknowledge the chemistry between them. She goes out with singer turned author Luke. Can we say disaster? Meddling Mom? I don’t I’ve laughed that hard in a while. You really should read this story. The story is entertaining and humorous. The characters are quirky, funny, and learn that life is too short to be serious. Have some fun. Mother Nature learns an important lesson. The tone is what makes the story. I was totally sucked in because Eros started with narrating the story and he sucks you right in. Highly recommend.
Watch out for the Evil Sushi; it’s worse than gas station sush! It’s going to get you and it’s takes a real bite out of you. Rod is feeling let down because his way of earning a living is dying due to corporate greed. He goes after one of the big boats blows up the fish and finds some unknown fish. He gets Ned and they go back and find some rainbow fish. They take some home and Sally, Ned’s daughter, puts them in a tank with tap water and salt. I loved this part because it reminded me of a furry little creature you shouldn’t get wet. Well, seems if you get salt on this fish, it multiplies. They thought this was a good thing. Nope…hence Evil Sushi. A bad, bad thing happens. Greedy people, mutants, and unknowns. Oh my goodness. This is the best food horror story that I’ve read in awhile. I love sushi but I just may have to rethink it for a bit. Those characters showed every sign of greed and bad personalities. I felt bad for Aileen and Rod. Sally had some ‘tude. Love the plot, it was entertaining and made you think because in some weird way, who says it can’t happen. Hmmmmm? I highly recommend this. I’m looking forward to moving on to book 2 in the series.

This is a quick, fun and romantic read. Angela and Blade are reunited when he comes to work at her office. The chemistry is there. The story is there. The characters crack me up. They are quirky, silly and full of personality. I enjoyed the tone of the story. It felt modern and contemporary. I fell in love with the characters the first time I met them. I like this author’s writing. I hope to read more. I definitely recommend this.

This is an intensely chilling thriller. Lila Dayne is a survivor of a serial killer attack. She is a deputy now with the local law enforcement office. Some sick monster places the worlds “Hush my darling” on a dead body. Now she is freaked out and Sheriff Elizabeth Benoit is determined to find out what the heck is going on. So well-written that I had chills. The story descriptions were so very detailed and just made you feel like you were there. The reliving of her whole experience gave me nightmares. The characters are very well developed. They feel twisted. Some of them feel like they could be your neighbors. Some feel creepy. I loved every minute of it. This was a new author for me. I plan to add this author to my favorites list and I look forward to reading more. I was pulled into the story from the beginning just by the way she described the storm scene. You should run to get this story.

This is the third book in the series. It’s time for Gage to find love. Of course, he doesn’t feel he deserves it or that he will find it. My heart was breaking for him by the time I got to this book. Yes, Gage is an illegal cage fighter and has been through some intensely rough stuff but everyone deserves love. In comes Juliet and her best friend, Ten. They have gotten involved into some deep crap. Gage, a good guy at heart, feels the need to rescue them.. Their is adventure, romance and lots of chemistry. Toss in some spicy romance and you have a really great story. I really like this author. Again, she writes in such away that you are pulled right in from the start. She jumps in from the start with the action. The characters grow on you and you can’t help but all in lov e yourself with them. Gage is intimidating when I read his size but when I read what he does for love it makes me kind of want one too. Get out there and but this story. This is a trilogy you can’t miss.

Knox is trying to redeem himself from a bad past. He chose to leave it and try to move on and make himself a new, cleaner life. He planned for this to mean no serious relationships. But then Josie came into his life and there went his plans out the door. This is a sweet romance, yet also a very erotic romance. They both come from hard pasts but once they chemistry starts, watch out…there’s going to be an explosion!! There’s lots of spice for the heavy romance lovers and also some really great story for those that love the story. An old friend makes an appearance in this story as he’s still looking for his happy ever after but not yet. The characters are just quirky enough that they will grow right into your life. I have grown to love these bad boys. Locke and Tessa, Knox and Jose. Will Gage find his happiness? It is really nice how the stories intertwine by way of Gage going within the stories. The plot of this story is fascinating. Josie is badass stubborn and Knox thinks he can just waltz in and be her rescuer. This author creates strong female characters which always makes for good reading. The story is engaging and endearing. I have been pulled in from the beginning. I recommend you run right over and one-click this one.

This book was full of action, intrigue and mystery. Dr. Tessa Freeman is an ER doctor just tyring to do her job and also help rescue girls from human trafficking. Yep, she sees her share. During one particular shift, this sexy sea-green eyed hunk (Locke) walks into her ER for some stitches. He’s a hottie that gets under her skin. Fake name, hot looks, troubled past, you know there’s trouble there. He takes off right after she’s done and disappears from her life. After helping the next girl that comes in who’s really torn up, the trouble hits…. you’re going to have to read the book for more). Well-written in the matter that the story is fast paced with action that pulls you in. The twist plots thrown in factored in just nice. The characters were so well described. Mabel reminded me of Maggie off Chicago Hope with her attitude. Tessa is a badass that shows she is pretty strong. She even helped Locke see that he could let her in to his heart. I would have lost it but she kept it together. This is an erotic romance so there is lots of steam. A little of everything for all the romance lovers. I recommend this.

I found this to be a very interesting story of a policewoman trying to hide who she is. Born with magic, Ezri doesn’t want to use or she just uses enough to help her get promotions. The book was original. The story was intriguing. Ezri really needed to come to terms with who she is . Trying to find her mom’s killer, she would need that magic. The characters were unique and quite interesting because you had a mix of the mundane and the magical. That made for a fascinating mix in the story. I could have used a little more excitement in the story but I am an adventure junkie (I admit it). This is a good story overall that I think fans of urban fantasy are going to love and want to read.
