My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sentinel City has become a ticking time bomb towards total destruction as creatures pour into earth from the worlds of the veil. Dahlia has returned from her crazy ordeal on Drimera. If you haven’t yet, you have to read the first 3 books!! Man so much action missed if you haven’t!! Anyways, she has picked up her life (somewhat), and is TRYING to move on. You know grow and do better. Well, under the cover of the city’s darkness, she is hunting monsters, again. Yep she wants to help human kind! She vows to keep the streets safe, while at the same time trying to harness the dragon eye’s abilities. Will she figure out the eye’s secrets and use it for good? Dahlia is always stretched to her limits and this time is no different. Unfortunately the impending destruction of her adopted home makes her worry if she will be enough to stop it all. After all how can she help the whole city? She’s only one half dragon shapeshifter. Dahlia shies away from the latest murder spree, but the victims’ identities grip her. Trying to unravel the truth, she uncovers something deeper. Of course! Nothing can ever be simple right? This mystery and the many threads of murder tying together are impossible to ignore and she has to find out who is behind this plot once and for all. Who is against her at every turn! Could this all lead back to the beginning? What does Ella have to do with it all? Will this bring the linked worlds into the light more? Will her new team help her to save the city once and for all? Man oh man!! Such a great set! I didn’t want to put it down! This set had me up late all week, so I could binge the whole thing. I can’t wait to finish book 5 now!! Less sleep but SO WORTH IT!!!!!

This series just keeps getting better and better. Once again I was delighted by the vibrant world and story that this author created. Dahlia Nite is a heroine that captures your attention and your respect. Taking part in her journey as she works to unravel the mystery that is taking place has been really interesting and fun. This author builds a dynamic world and I enjoyed my time in it.

After surviving the events in the previous book Dahlia is back to her old ways, playing protector. As the number of “other” beings/ monsters continues to grow Dahlia has to wonder will she be enough?

Another Dahlia Nite story and its just as good as the others. I have absolutely loved this series, I would recommend reading them in order though. The depth of the characters, how they interact, and where their relationship comes from are all built throughout the series. I also love how while there is a main issue within each story there is also an arch tying them all together. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Action, suspense and shifters
Another fantastic instalment in the Nite Fire series. This is book 4 and the brilliance continues. Dahlia Nite, 1/2 dragon shifter has so much more on her plate as she navigates the ‘things that go bump’ in the night and desperately tries to stop the blight. The author brings so much more to the story as twists and turns has the reader making links across previous books. This series must be read from book 1 to really connect the dots. Now onto book 5, Exit Strategy.

Nite Fire: Slash & Burn by C.L. Schneider reviewed by Lauren Cox

This book was so different from the last three books, and I could argue it is one of my favorites so far. Dahlia has grown so much since we first met her three books ago, all of the challenges she has faced, the people she has saved and the dragon queen she has continually outran.
This book has heartache, lack of trust, broken relationships and more monsters than can take over the city. After they discover a sink hole, missing pets and more blight, can they come up with a solution before the blight become uncontrollable and destroy everything in their path?
Her former partner Alex has come to her for help after not speaking, the deaths could only have been from more monsters. Can he trust Dahlia again? Can they work together and find the solution?

What an amazing continuation on the Nite Fire series! The authors world building draws you in as if you are there experiencing it along with the characters. Just like the previous books, I love the main character Dahlia’s strong will and sass. With plenty of action, drama and suspense, it’s a must read for Fantasy lovers.

Nite Fire: Slash & Burn (Book 4) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider – Review by Shelly Kittell

Dahlia always finds trouble, or it finds her. It doesn’t really matter because there it is. Dahlia is fighting the apocalypse. We have dragons and other mysterious creatures coming out of the shadows. Dahlia’s kicking ass while trying to save humanity. I have read this series from the beginning and also listened to it on audiobook. Audiobook has made it come to life. Dahlia is a sassy, saucy character that you can feel when you listen to the audio. The narrator knows just how to read the story. It was full of life, action and excitement, with a dash of romance. What a terrific series that I’ll miss. I think everyone should listen to this series.

~ A Must Read in a Shapeshifter Fantasy ~

This is the final book in the series, and I have eaten up every single one. Dahlia has remained true to her core self, but without giving in spoilers away has also evolved into something quite new. Her supporting roles and friends along the way have developed, as well as the world(s) around her. This is such a unique story line, and is such an easy decision to pick up and read. You definitely won’t regret it.

I do have to say even the villains/anti-heroes I find myself empathizing with, or at least seeing from their perspective. This is such a nice wrap up to an enthralling fantasy series I know without a doubt I will be reading again. It was also, just a little bit of a shock I was not expecting!!! While Dahlia isn’t the most lovable character, she certainly is inspiring, strong, and extremely loyal. I haven’t met a character or being quite like her yet, and it was such a pleasure to hear her story. Love, love, love this series.

Slash & Burn (Nite Fire, #4)Slash & Burn by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the fourth book in this series. We are once again met with Dahlia Nite. Our rough and tumble shifter investigator.

This book starts out with an excellent example as to why she has this job and just how terrifyingly close the worlds are becoming. Also, many questions about Dahlia are answered in this nonstop story.

I finished this in one sitting and CANNOT wait for the next.

Nite Fire: Slash & Burn (Book 4) by C.L. Schneider – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Slash & Burn (Nite Fire, #4)Slash & Burn by C.L. Schneider

This is the fourth book in this series and boy was it a good one!! I love the way this author spreads out the details to both the characters and the story line. This story is the continuing antics of main character Dahlia Nite who investigates crimes of supernatural characters. The world this author has built is complex and intriguing and will hook you from book one. This is not a stand alone and you really need to read these in order. You won’t be sorry but be prepared because you won’t be able
to put these books down.
