If you love a slow burn romance that has a push/pull effect between characters this is a definite read. This story of Nicco and Destiny gave me all the feels that I love with a romance story that starts with friendship and just beautifully blossoms.

Nicco and Destiny meet by chance by a mock photo-shoot that left me already rooting for them from the beginning. Nicco being intrigued by Destiny from the beginning…knowing that his persona is being a full fledged “playboy”. Destiny keeps Nicco at an arms distance at first….but when an agreement between them of Nicco getting his shot at something more in acting and Destiny getting more in a story fit for a next bestselling novel. As they navigate each other….will Nicco’s past demons continue to haunt him? Will Destiny be able to see a future with Nicco without getting her heart hurt int he end?

This is a beautiful story with truly beautiful characters. This is my first book from this author and I am already ready to read book 2 and continuing this Wounded Hearts series journey.

A well written book with great character and development. The story moved slow but it seemed like a deliberate slow that made the characters come to life. The hook was missing that really drew me in but it was a nice easy read with no true downfall!

Well written romance! I enjoyed the dynamics between Nicco and Destiny. I was pulled in from the photo shoot and didn’t want to put this book down until I finished. Definitely a slow burn and I typically read things a little more fast passed, but it was very enjoyable.

I liked the chemistry between Nicco and Destiney. Their frustrating way of miscommunication in what they are looking for is something relatable. I enjoy slow burn romances where love is earned. I felt that the ending was a little rushed especially since the book took me a little bit to get into. Overall, it was a good read and I look forward to Book 2.

Someone exactly like me by Debbie Cromack was so good. Honestly, I loved this book. It was the perfect amount of awkward and felt so incredibly real. My only complaint is that it took them forever for spicy things to happen! I was rooting for them forever it felt like and finally it happened. I truly enjoyed Destiny and how relatable she felt. It felt as if I was reading a story about myself – you know if I got to meet a celebrity crush and fall in love with them. HA. I love that she’s a romance author. While I’m sure this isn’t how all authors write their books, it was so interesting to be in her head as she wrote her book and came up with ideas. Nicco was described as a playboy which is what many people think of famous people. However, getting to know him, he’s a genuine guy. I am looking forward to getting updates on the couple in the next book!

This was such a good romance book. I tend to read when I am on my break at work and I can honestly say that I was truly upset when my break was over. I wanted to keep reading what was going to happen between Nicco and Destiny. I loved how there was a very slow build up to their romance. I wanted to read more when the story was over. I love the character of Nicco as he is what I want to believe many celebrities are like. Incredibly kind and caring. I also loved Destiny and her relationship with her best friend Candi. I loved how descriptive it was in the beginning about their friendship as we all have that friend that is the polar opposite of us. If it wasn’t for Candi’s personality Nicco and Destiny never would have been able to meet and connect. This was such a great book that I didn’t want to put down!

This book was just so good! I enjoyed this cozy mystery so much and enjoyed our main character more than I have in a long while. She was so relatable and just felt so real. The story itself was so well thought out and left me reading every word in one sitting to find out what happened and if she was successful! Such a well planned out book, I really, really enjoyed!

I really, really loved this book, the slow burn, between Destiny and Nicco is thoroughly engaging. This is truly a heart-warming, slow burn friends to lovers, a great book to read.
Coming from a bad relationship, finding her fiancé with his best friend obviously makes Destiny
Helping her best friend Candi who is a photographer out with a lighting check romance author Destiny is put literally in front of her celebrity crush Nicco.
She does not trust his playboy persona, he cannot get her out of his mind, and she cannot forget him. They make an agreement to help each other out, her to help him move his career forward and him to allow her access to his daily life and some of his past to help her writing. We follow them in their cat and mouse relationship. And watch as their characters grow and develop.
Nicco goes all out to prove he is more than the Italian playboy actor he shows the world. And Destiny needs to overcome her self-image to feel settled in their friendship and allow herself to move on.
They both need to open themselves to love and live life to the fullest. Again I cannot say enough how much I loved this book.

Someone Exactly Like Me (Wounded Hearts #1) by Debbie Cromack

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Someone Exactly Like Me is a great book. It’s also the first book in the Wounded Hearts Series. This book will have you hooked and it’ll be hard to put down.

Destiny is an indie author and is struggling. Writer’s Block can be a hassle and it can hit at any moment. Destiny’s thirtieth birthday is a big one. Her friend takes her out only to have her meet at the studio to pick an outfit. Once there she’s thrusted into the arms of her dream man. Can she let the wall around her heart down? Can they make it work? The quote I chose for Destiny is: “Okay, I admit it.” I hold my hand up in defense. “For a second, in my drunken head, I thought he was going to kiss me. I mean, his gorgeous face was inches from mine and his lips were right there. I’ve had dreams about a hot moment like that. I think I stopped breathing. Then I realized, of course, that he was doing that polite Italian kiss-on-the-cheek thing. How do you not end up sleeping with these extremely hot men you’re surrounded by all the time?”

Nicco is rising to fame and fast. The movie made him a huge star. Now he’s working on his music. Meeting Destiny wasn’t part of the plan. Doing a mock photo shoot with her has him wanting more. Spending two weeks with her isn’t enough. Can he prove that he’s not the playboy media makes him out to be? The quote I chose for Nicco is: “What scares me is that I know I’ll never be a good husband or a good dad. So, I don’t bother getting involved in relationships and wasting anyone’s time. It’s not fair to the other person to invest their time, their effort, their heart in something that has no chance of becoming anything.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This book was intoxicating! I could not put it down… This slow burn REALLY kept the longing going, and held twists and turns to keep me intrigued. So much adventure, friendship, growth, and love!
My heart ached for many of the characters… only wanting all of the happiness they deserved and dreams they had to come true.
This was my first read of Debbie Cromack’s work, and now I am hooked! Her writing was addictive and drew me in deeper with every chapter. Emotions were woven into every word that the characters spoke to each other, as well as in their private thoughts. And let me tell you… things got STEAMY!
I cannot wait to continue on with the Wounded Hearts series.

This book is absolutely amazing. The way the author had created such an intense connection between the characters without the romance initially is just perfect. It was so great to see the way the connection and the relationship built and developed, gradually, creating what felt like a stronger link. It allows you to see how the characters develop individually as well as the couple.
I thought the author got the pace of the book perfect for the story being told. Everything seemed to fit together seamlessly and it made for an enjoyable read. I would highly recommend this book.

WOW can we say that this book was so steamy and one that I COULD NOT PUT DOWN!! This book revolves around Destiny, who is an author who writes her own books and loves romances and Nicco who is an up-and-coming actor who just so happens to be Destinys crush! Destiny meets him at the set of her best friend’s photoshoot on her birthday and the chemistry is palpable!! They work out a deal that is mutually beneficial for both of them. I could not get over the way that this book was worded. Being able to understand where both of them was coming from and learning about their past traumas that formed them was incredible. This book has just climbed to the top of my favorite reads, and I cannot wait to tell my friends that this needs to be their next read!!

I always love a well written slow burn novel, and this one did not disappoint! I loved Nicco and Destiny, they had really great chemistry from the start. She is a little gun shy because she is afraid of putting herself back out there and getting hurt, and he is a up and coming playboy actor and musician. Italy is known for love and romance, and being Italian you would think that he would be ready to fall in love with a woman but past heartbreaks have left him a little jaded and weary of women. Can Destiny change his mind and his heart, or is it a lost cause?

We’ve all been there at some point in our lives… A fan girl. Having a famous idol as a crush. The story starts out with our girl Destiny meeting her idol/crush, and it’s a whirlwind story from there. What I liked most about this book is that both characters are flawed. In most books that I’ve read it’s usually one flawed character being saved by the other not so flawed character. However as I mentioned both of them are flawed and they have to dig deep to get to the root cause of their issues, and basically save themselves. One thing Is for sure I do wish that Destiny had a little bit more self-confidence in herself. Overall it was a slow and steady burn kind of story. There was great character growth and development, and an HEA in the end!

Destiny has had her fair share of broken relationships and has her heart caged to not get hurt again. Although as a writer she is in a slump and needs to help the creative ideas flow, but they are just not there, when her best friend takes her out for there traditional birthday celebrations, Destiny is strangely drawn to Nico, but will her playboy ways stop her from following the attraction they both feel.

Niccolo has rose to fame in the movie world but is determined to break America, the Italian playboy has swept the news, but he has always just wanted to settle down and have a family. Although being burnt terrible in his past, he has always shut off his feelings and the hook ups he has now are to satisfy his sexual needs rather than emotional, until he met Destiny.

This is a great book, well developed and written with emotion and depth of the characters which added to the overall experience of the story.

I loved the chemistry between the two characters as well and it was great to be a part of the getting to know side of the relationship rather than gun hoe and in bed with each other within the first couple of chapters. They both have had monumental heartbreak and try to move forward from but the way the story weaved within there doubts and concerns added depth to the story and draws you into the characters even more.

If you are looking for a raunchy, sex driven book then this may not be the book for you, but if you want to get to know the characters and walk through a journey of discovery and rediscover trust and loyalty within a relationship then this story is for you 100%, you will not be disappointed at all. I can’t wait to read Cali’s story in the next book in this series.

If you like a slow burn romance then this is the book for you. I had never read any of this author’s work but the blurb described a book that sounded just like the type I’d enjoy… and I did, very much.
When you’ve been having sordid fantasies about the hot actor in a new erotic film the last thing you imagine is meeting him at your photographer friend’s photoshoot and starting up a great friendship with him. That’s exactly what happens to Destiny when she visit’s her friend’s photo studio and meets new acting sensation Niccolo (Nicco).
I adored Destiny and Nicco’s story. It’s a real sloooow burn but so good. I love how they become such good friends before finally taking their relationship further. They learn so much about each other and so much about themselves as people.
The characters are very well written and are very relatable and I really enjoyed reading about them. The story flows very well and has enough action to keep the reader entertained and wanting to turn to the next page to see what happens next.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.

EXCELLENT!!
When you lose confidence in yourself due to others, everyday will take on a life of its own. We struggle daily to achieve our best and succeed. The characters in this book are doing exactly that. Two different worlds, two different struggles. The way the author wrote this book, I felt like it was her telling her own story. There is so much passion and conviction in her words.

The story revolves around Nicco and Destiny. The attraction is sizzling hot from the very first day they meet. Their deal brings them closer and closer. With a jealous model thrown in for good measure. If I were to have a fantasy man, then Nicco would be it.

This is the first book by Debbie Cromack I have read and I just found myself an author I will enjoy reading for a long time. Enjoy this excellent read. Yo won’t be disappointed.

Pain can be a fickle thing. Pain from a heartbreak can be even worse. Destiny is an author in a writing slump and Nicco is a up and coming celebrity trying to break into the American market. When the two make a deal on her thirtieth birthday all they expect is to help each other’s careers. Partners turn into friendship turn into more? When both have been burned from their past, is there any hope for their future? Amazing writing can’t wait for the next book.

Someone Exactly Like Me is the first book in the Wounded Hearts series by Debbie Cromack. This is my first book by Ms. Cromack, and as I am always on the look out for new authors to add to my TBR list I happily snapped up a copy to explore.
What I found was a sweet, enjoyable, slow-burn, contemporary romance with a bit of a friends-to-lover element, some angst, push-pull, heartache, chemistry, and drama. I connected with the characters right from the get-go, which made it so easy to invest in them and their whole story.
I am happy that I stumbled on this book, and author- and I will certainly be keeping a look-out for more of her work in the future.
Bring on Book #2…
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Debbie Cromack!

Where should one look for inspiration when there is none to be found? Destiny is an author who writes romances, but she is in a bit of a slump. Enter Niccolo Mancini, an actor/musician who is looking to make a jump across the pond and make it big in America. They have a chance meeting when Detiny’s best friend has a photo shoot and needs her to step in. Will sparks fly or have there been one too many tabloids claiming Mr. Mancini as a playboy? This was a very slow burn, but I found it a likeable story. I stopped reading it here and there to do other things, but it can easily be read in one sitting. I liked the feisty side of Desitny but found myself wishing she had higher self esteem.

I fell in love with this book and its characters. It was very funny, realistic, and sweet to say the least. Nicco has an incredible story that you never see coming, he wants to love and be open so bad but his past will not allow him until he meets Destiny. She’s an angel to him so selfless and loving and genuine. Destiny has her impression of Nicco but as a ‘fan’ who has seen his ‘work’ well she sees him as inspiration and that is only until a deal is made. Candi, this girl is everything Destiny isn’t and her best friend since they were kids. I love the push and pull with Nicco and Destiny there isn’t ever a dull moment. Also, make sure you read the ENTIRE book including the prologue.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book SO much!! The characters were so enjoyable and relatable—the reader can’t help but fall in love with them, as they were slowly falling in love with each other! TOTAL relationship goals. Magnificent feel good read. Can’t recommend it enough!

Handsome & intriguing, up & coming Italian actor, Niccolo Mancini has quite the reputation as a playboy. Indie romance writer, Destiny Cardone has sworn off men and the notion of ever finding her soul mate. When their paths cross on Destiny’s 30th birthday, the attraction is instant & sparks sizzle all around them! Destiny was aware of Nicco’s reputation and knew there was no way that someone like him would be interested in her. When they engage in a business relationship, a beautiful friendship begins to form and the facades begin to fade, but will it be enough to bridge the lifestyle differences and allow them to have a shot at that happily ever after, true love?

I really enjoyed this sweet romance. The author does an amazing job with the characters giving them a depth that makes them relatable and allows the readers to really feel the feelings and emotions they go through. The connection between the characters is instant with Destiny already being a fan of Nicco. Over the course of the story we see how they get closer while fighting Destiny’s insecurities and Nicco’s playboy image. This is a great read that keeps you hooked wondering will they get it together or won’t they.

Nicco is a actor that has every girls heart racing and Destiny is no exception. So when they meet at her friends photo shoot the spark is immediate. Destiny is a romance writer who is struggling to find her story however a little time with Nicco has got her creative juices flowing. So when Nicco comes to her with a proposition, he becomes her muse of her story and she helps him with his career, how could Destiny refuse.
As their journey continues their feelings grow but with both of them having been hurt in the past and insecurities are they going to be able to work through it all to make it work? Will Destiny finally get to write her own happy ever after or will they both end up with their hearts broken again?
