Show Me Something (Something, #5) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jenni Bishop

Show Me Something (Something, #5)Show Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Show Me Something is the fifth book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and sadly the last book in the series. It is a fantastic read, there is so much depth in this book even better than all the others but not by much. I loved all the other books in this series by Aubrey, because her writing style just flows beautifully giving you a seamless read. The story lines Aubrey comes up with keep you coming back for more and the characters that I adore keep me hooked. As with all her books the secondary characters are just as entertaining as our main characters and I feel every emotion and every step of the way with them.

In this story our main characters Juliette & Mark are complete strangers and they have both had more than their share of issues, problems and heartbreak. Juliette is a force to be reckoned with, she is a whirlwind, that you can’t help but love, she also has no filter and blurts thing out.

Mark on the other hand is the complete opposite in that he is quiet and has been struggling with a loss so profound he doesn’t know how to move forward..

I love this series and I am sad that it has come to an end but Aubrey has left us with a high for the ending with this beautiful story that once again has it has it all. So much emotion from laughter to sadness to heartache that will leave your heart breaking for them. Even though this series has ended I look forward to all future reads from this very talented author.

Ask Me Something (Something, #2) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jenni Bishop

Ask Me Something (Something, #2)Ask Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ask Me Something is the second book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and is a great read, even better than the first and that is saying something as I loved the first one! I love reading books by Aubrey, as I love her style of writing as it flows easily and the story lines she comes up with keep me hooked and wanting to know more about the made for each other couples that I so adore. As with all her books the secondary characters are just as entertaining as our main characters and I am always laughing and crying right along with them.

In this story our main characters Sasha & Brian have worked together for years in the advertising industry and are the best of friends. When a promotion comes along she takes it but it means she has to move away and makes him her boss. Sasha’ may be a force to be reckoned with in the business world but on the inside she is fighting a secret she has never told anyone.

Brian is the complete opposite in that he is so laid back and easy going until he is in the bedroom, then things get to sizzling with this hot and sexy alpha male.

I absolutely love all the witty remarks and the easy banter between all these characters and their loyalty and friendships. When these men love they love hard and fast and set the sheets on fire. I look forward as always to all future reads from Aubrey as is one talented author.

I give this book 5 stars.

Tell Me Something (Something, #1) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jenni Bishop

Tell Me Something (Something, #1)Tell Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tell Me Something is the first book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant and is a great read! This is the second book I have read by Aubrey and her style of writing flows easily and the storyline kept me hooked and wanting to know more about this made for each other couple. The secondary characters were just as entertaining and had me laughing and crying right along with them.

Our main characters Haylee & Josh are from completely different backgrounds and lifestyles and they have both had more than their share of challenges, problems and heartbreak. When these two meet by chance, an opportunity Haylee can’t refuse is offered and the instant attraction leads to a sizzling connection that can’t be ignored. But will their issues become too much between them? Will they realise what they want before it tears them apart? Will Halyee survive the perceived betrayal or will Josh come to his senses before he loses her forever?

There are many, many emotional twists and turns and insecurities that will have you biting your nails and hoping for the best. I also loved all the witty remarks and the easy banter between all the characters. I look forward to all future reads from Aubrey as I find her a talented author.

Tell Me Something (Something, #1) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jana Teppih

Tell Me Something (Something, #1)Tell Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tell Me Something sucks you in from the first chapter, it keeps you on your toes and it is hard to put the book down as you want to know how do those 2 hard headed aka independent and strong willed people figure out a working relationship.
The author was able to find a great balance between cute and light-hearted and ‘sturm und drang’ making it an enjoyable read.
Haylee came across independent and strong mostly though at times I got pretty frustrated with her responses in certain situations that were pretty straight forward. At those moments I reminded myself that she is young and has lost her parents and is in the process of finding herself and her way out there.
Josh was complicated, he reminded me some of the other contemporary romance heroes out there being both in control (or wanting to be in control) and vulnerable. He comes across very human with his flaws and shortcomings and his fears and reactions in different situations.
It is a good story and even though it is quite many pages, it does not feel long. Plan with some extra time to give Haylee and Josh and their relationship a chance, there is something we all can take away with us into our relationships. I am looking forward to the next book as there are quite a few intriguing characters in this book that deserve their own story!

Tell Me Something (Something #1) by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Ashleigh Whitwell

Tell Me Something (Something, #1)Tell Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tell Me Something is the first book in the Something series by Aubrey Bondurant. Written in first person, we follow Haylee’s story as she takes a new job as Josh Singer’s assistant. This was my first read of the author’s work and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Twenty-two year old Haylee Holloway has experienced more than her fair share of grief in her short life. Moving to LA for a fresh start, she takes an assistant job to help save money so she can fulfil her dream of going to Law school. The last thing she expects is to step in at a work photo shoot, as the model, in front of the owner of the company she works for. Josh Singer is private, intense, hard to read and completely captivating. His smouldering eyes and sexy voice has Haylee hooked from the moment she meets him. Knowing her dream, her makes her an offer; work for him to save enough money for school. Haylee’s answer is easy, but one thing isn’t: how does she spend so much time with her hot boss and keep her hands off him? Frustrated with the mixed signals Josh is giving her, Haylee finally makes a decision. Blurring professional boundaries may not be a good idea, but they say it’s only temporary. But will either of them accept that maybe things were never supposed to end?

This book brings together a whole range of different factors from across the romance genre. It packs a real emotional punch in places, while creating some really hot and passionate scenes, too. That was not was I was expecting when I started Tell Me Something (although I can’t tell you what I was expecting!), and it was a welcome surprise. I loved the whole premise of the story, as I felt a over-done subject (‘it’s only a temporary arrangement’ kind of thing) got a complete overhaul in this version. The emotion the story drew out (I was not expecting it to be so heart-breaking in places!) was not only varied but extreme; one minute I was laughing, the next I was shouting at the book. I love rollercoaster reads, and this is definitely one of those. To see how things turn out, you’ll have to read it yourself, but I don’t think you will disappointed with Haylee and Josh’s outcome!

Speaking of the two lead characters, I have to say how much I enjoyed reading about them. It was immediately obvious what a strong, independent and ambitious woman Haylee was, and I absolutely love this. This is just how I liked my female leads, so I knew I would fall in love with her (and I did!). Although she had faced some tragedy, she had picked herself up and moved on, which I admire and only adds to her believability and realness. As for Josh, what a complex character! At times, I had no idea what was happening with him and this made me so angry; like Haylee, I just wanted to shout at him. But over the course of the story, I began to like him more and more as we found out more about his past and background, explaining why he is the way he is. I loved the scenes they shared together, and often found myself reading faster so I could get to their next interaction!

Overall, Tell Me Something is a really great read. I love the unique plot, complex characters and the wonderful way the author writes. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series and will definitely be recommending this to my friends!
