The book is a very informative, beautifully illustrated interactive book for children. The book opened alot of conversations about dogs and how we should behave around them.

This wonderfully illustrated and imaginative story can be enjoyed by young and old alike. The author helps children learn new words, use their imagination, and have fun along the way. It is obvious from the way the book is written the author loves animals and children and adults alike will not be able to mirror the authors love for animals.

This is the second book in the Bold Journeys series, I would recommend reading the books in order as they follow the same characters. The focus of this book is Kyle. This could be quite triggering for some people as it does deal with the subject of male sexual assault. Kyle is such a strong well well-written character, I spent the book wanting to be there for him and hold his hand. Rebecca reaction to Kyle’s assault was maddening I got so frustrated and angry with her. It was a fantastic book and I could not put it down.

This is the 4th book in the series but in my opinion, it can be read as a standalone. You do get more out of the series by reading them in order. This is a well-written second-chance romance that will captivate you from the first meeting. I fell in love with Angelica as a character and loved her development throughout the book. Her strength and determination made me root for her and her love life. Highly recommended!

This was an emotional rollercoaster from the first page! On the first page Julie’s life is changed forever when her brother and sister-in-law are killed in a car accident. Their children are left in Julie’s care, Julie has never wanted children, but she learns to raise Lucy and Mikey through their collective grief and trauma. I loved this book even though it tore me to shreds!!

The themes of immigration and deportation are addressed in a way that children can understand but I would recommend reading it with an adult to help discuss the themes. Personally, I would read the book in order of the series in order to get the full context and character development but they can be read as stand-alone as well. In Cruel Start we are introduced to Phoenix and Aspen. The author definitely knows how to develop characters, write tension and keep you on the edge of your seat.
