Sure As Hell (Life is Hell #4)Sure As Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sure As Hell is the fourth novel in the Life is Hell series by Naomi Valkyrie. This novel should be read after reading the other three. Otherwise you will not know what is happening in the novel. This is Jaru’s story. While slightly different than the others, it is still amazing. Naomi Valkyrie is a terrific author and it shows. Sure As Hell is a paranormal romance that keeps the reader engaged and on point with the story.

In book 4 we meet 3 more members of the Juniper Lake Paranormal family.

Larkspur: Pixie, trickster, troublemaker and newly awakened lover.

Jaru: Imp, new business owner, and contract boy with diverse relationship statuses.

Soren: Bodyguard, caretaker and kind lover to Jaru and Larkspur.

These 3 men have a such a wonderful, scandalous and sexy story that all I can do is HIGHLY suggest reading it.

Jaru and Larkspur’s story felt like the most action packed one yet. I came away feeling that I knew the two characters better. Seeing Jaru develop confidence in himself was enlightening. Being an imp, he’s used to following other’s orders. Larkspur totally knocked it out of the park with developing into so much more. That was truly delightul. He went from fun and games to trying to be responsible and sure of themself. The author always makes such enjoyable books to read because there is one plot with several little subplots that all line up. I love the twists and turns. The little ending was the BOMB!! Another one out of the park!

Being the 4th book in this series, I will start this off by saying, please read in order. You’ll get the story from the beginning and know the who, what, when and how of everything.
I absolutely loved this story! Each one is my new favorite and i think this one will stay that for some time. These characters, while I cant relate to the special beings they are i can connect and relate to their feelings and actions . This author is talented and hope she never stops writing as I will keep reading!

I absolutely love paranormal romance books! And this 4th book in the series does not disappoint. You don’t have to read them in order but I highly recommend it so you can get all of the characters stories. My heart broke at some parts in this book as it felt close to home. You just want to sweep Jaru and Lark into your arms and protect them as if they are yours. I can definitely relate to some of the self doubt and questioning of yourself as Jaru does. This is such an amazing series!

I’ve read all 4 books in this series in order, and I highly recommend doing that so you can know the characters the way you’re supposed to. This book is Lark and Jaru’s story. I have to admit, I was really shocked when they got their own book, I had thought they were just background characters. Boy was I wrong. They are such amazing characters and I ended up loving this book just as much as I loved the others. This one has a bit more of a “dark” presence to it, so if BDSM and thruples aren’t for you, just be advised it is here. However it’s done so respectfully and tastefully that it’s barely even a thing. I love everything of Naomi Valkyrie’s I’ve read and can’t wait for book 5!

Sure As Hell (Life is Hell #4)Sure As Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book, it was really interesting. This is book 4 in the series and I haven’t read any of the previous books. I would recommend reading them as though. I understood the main story enough to enjoy it, but I had no idea who some of the side characters were and I feel it would have been even better had I known who every one was and how they all linked together.
Jaru has stared up on his own, providing contract companions, with the backing and support of Teivel and Oren. He is determined to make it a success and run it on his own, however companions are starting to go missing so he employs Soren as security.
Best friend Lark is now fed up at home and decides to join Jaru in the office, and ends up revealing a secret he’s been keeping.
While Soren, Jaru and Lark work together to try and figure out who is behind the missing companions, they grow closer.
The world building is really interesting and makes me want to go back and read more.

Sure As Hell (Life is Hell #4)Sure As Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sure as Hell is the 4th book in Naomi Valkyrie’s series Life is Hell. It should be read as part of the series, because all the characters overlap. To fully understand what each character is (as they are all paranormal) and their relationships (many overlapping relationships, 3 somes, etc). Also, the series is awesome, so really, you’d be doing yourself a favor by reading them all. I don’t normally read paranormal books, but I am hooked on this series.
This book focuses on Jaru and Lark. As with all books in the series, there is a bit of romance, as well as a bit of action and suspense. Because this book’s main character is an imp, and former contract companion (think call girl), and contains mixed relationships, it is for a more mature audience. I enjoyed getting to know Lark as more than a prankster fairy he has been in the previous books. I also enjoyed seeing Jaru grow up, so to speak, and learn to be his own person, outside of being a companion. Looking forward to the next book in the series

As always, Naomi Valkyrie’s world was vibrant and full of fun and intrique. There was some adventure and as always the good guy wins. This is an excellent series and I hope Naomi Valkyrie continues to explore this world.

Sure As Hell (Life is Hell #4)Sure As Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A wonderfully written paranormal romance which had me hooked from page one. The author has created a detailed world which is bought to life by the descriptive narrative. I felt fully immersed in the story and engaged with the likeable and relatable characters. Imp and former contract companion Jaru Fane just wants to prove himself and although outwardly he looks confident inside he feels as though he is falling apart. Luckily he has the support of his Juniper Lake family and decides to start his own contract companion business. However, this means that Jaru’s best friend and prankster Lark becomes lonely and so he decides to make sure that Jaru knows he still exists. This results in their relationship developing but when Lark is in danger it’s Jaru’s bodyguard Soren that can help not him. Although Soren can keep Lark safe Jaru worries he may have lost him for good. The storyline flows well and the plot kept me happily turning the pages but it was the characters and their complex relationships that had me gripped. Although this novel is part of a series it can be read as a standalone story but the characters do crossover. I look forward to future books in the ‘Life is Hell’ series.

Considering I jumped into this series with Book 4 I can honestly say that this author did a tremendous job writing with so much detail. I do believe that this book would be better enjoyed having read the first three but I had no problem whatsoever starting from here. The author provided enough detail and information that I was able to piece stuff together as I was introduced to these wonderful characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. I loved the dual POV, the character development and the never a dull moment storyline. I quickly found myself intrigued and captivated by these characters and their complex and dynamic lives, having finished this book now I am really looking forward to starting this series from the beginning!

Sure As Hell is the fourth book in the Life Is Hell series by Naomi Valkyrie. This is my new favorite book by Ms. Valkyrie. Her writing style is very complex and detailed, which really bring her characters to life. This book features Jaruzelski and his best friend Larkspur. I would highly recommend that you read this series in order to get the full effect of all the characters. This is a fantasy story with amazing storyline that is fast paced and so hard to put down. I wanted the story to last longer, but I just had to find out how it ended, so it was a one sitting read for me. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series, it’s bound to be brilliant.

Sure As Hell (Life is Hell Book 4) by Naomi Valkyrie
4 Stars

I think the Life is Hell series is amazing. It is filled with drama, romance, danger, magic and supernatural beings. The stories are set in Juniper Lake, a quaint little town which happens to be a hot spot for demons. It all started with a demon bedding a vacation to it becoming a home to several. Each story focuses on a separate couple so you can read them as stand-alones but the series is too good not to read them all.

This book focuses on Jaru and Lark. An imp and a pixie; seems unlikely but it works. They started off as friends and steadily grew closer. They reached the tipping point in this story. I wasn’t too sure about them because both are very childlike. With this situation, it clicks and the chemistry is there. The author adds some twists which will surprise you. This wasn’t my favourite book in the series because both Jaru and Lark are very insecure and needy. I was happy to see moments of strength from both of them which raised my opinion of them. The story is well written and will keep you guessing. It’s a good addition to the series. Looking forward to the next one.

This is a fast paced story that once you start you won’t want to stop till you’ve finished. This is Jaru’s story and all he wants is to do is prove himself so he opens a business. Opening a business doesn’t leave you much free time so his best friend starts to feel left out so he takes matters into his own hands and reminds him he still exists. Just as things are going good life goes to crap. Find out what happens next. Can he save both his relationship and his best friend? I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.

Naomi Valkyrie has done it again with Sure As Hell in the Life Is Hell series. This is Book 4 and is just as good if not better than the others. I love this group of unlikely mismatches that have become a family. I love the easy way Naomi makes her writing feel relaxed and welcoming. She gives us times of humour and laughter, yet times of pain and sorrow, with love and anger. I have been with Naomi since the start of her writing and have never been disappointed.

I am not going to share the story as Naomi’s stories should be discovered and savoured like a new fine wine.

I give Sure As Hell (Life Is Hell Book 4) by Naomi Valkyrie, 5 stars.

What I love about this series is how different it is and that it’s not afraid to explore different relationships than just male/female. Not only that but weave these relationships into a paranormal romance series that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

This book centers around Lark and Jaru. I have to say, I didn’t see this coming. They are so much more complex than I ever imagined, and intriguing too. There is no such thing as bit characters in this world. Eventually we will learn what makes them tick. The action and the growing feelings towards these to made me unable to put the book down. Dark and possibly disturbing to some at times, it really is unlike any series I have read before. Even though this is book 4, it is fresh and original while keeping to the integrity of this world. The author is a superb storyteller and I would love to see many more books to come!

Sure as Hell is the fourth book in the series Life is Hell by Naomi Valkyrie. She is an amazing story teller. She has a way to make you feel as if you are right there with the characters. This is a fantasy book but it has a lot of depth to the book. The plot line is filled with mystery, danger, secrets, suspense and some romance. The story moves quickly and you may even have to reread some parts because I know I missed them the first time around. The characters are unforgettable. They are fully complex and enjoyable. This is Jaru’s story. I felt as if I was riding on Jaur’s shoulder and going through everything he was at the same time. He has opened up a business and he feels like everything is sinking him into the ground. He has a best friend and he was asking if he was deserving that friendship. Will Jaru find time for Lark? With everything going on will he be able to stay connected with his best friend or will that relationship fail as well. I highly recommend this book, but be prepared to read in one sitting. It is that amazing.

This is the 4th book in the Life Is Hell Series. I can’t express how much I love these books. Each book is so unique but the characters are so good you are instantly drawn to them. I love the character of Jaru.

He’s such a sweet hearted character. In this story we see him struggling to become independent and being able to function on his own. Through his struggle we learn that with the support he has anything is possible. It is a really good insight into the thoughts of someone who is dealing with the same thing as Jaru is.

Add to this his blooming relationship with Lark, danger and surprises around every turn this books is definately a great addition to the series and I can’t wait for more.

Jaru Fane is an Imp, he used to be a contract companion, but now after a horrible experience, he has decided to create his own contact companion company which will employ and look after companions in a safe environment, something which he missed out on and his best friend is Larkspur, a pixie with an unhappy past and a penchant for mischief and playing pranks.

As Jaru is setting up his business, he didn’t quite realise how little time he has to spend with Lark between meeting, interviews, looking at contracts and making the decisions he needs to, but decisions are not the easiest thing for Jaru, he struggles to make them without help and it is
getting him down. Meanwhile, Lark is feeling left out and bored and when he gets bored, that is when the pranks start, nobody is happy when that happens, so he decides to sneak into the office with Jaru the next day. As he has his first interview of the day, he senses that something maybe isn’t quite right with the person he is interviewing, but he seems a good fit nevertheless,
afterwards, he ponders his decision making ability while Lark is planning his way to get to Jaru’s office the next day. While there, Jaru is looking over some more profiles for the business and thinks about getting some breakfast, however, he is startled when he sees some on his desk, this is when Lark shocks him further as he makes an appearance and spends the rest of the morning helping Jaru with the profiles, then just before he leaves the office he receives a strange phone call, but thinks no more about it.

A couple of days later, Jaru goes to his office as usual, but unusually, he finds a note on his desk saying that contract companions have been going missing and that his are next in line, so he tries to think of a solution himself and decides to call a friend for some advice and he agrees
that it is a warning and to call if anything escalates, so when Jaru receives another phone call, this time containing a definite threat, he hires his friend so that he can arrange security for himself and his boys. Jaru has asked not to keep his other friends in the loop, however, Lark ends up hearing what is going on and decides to take matters into his own hands when he realises that Jaru is keeping secrets and confronts him the next day when it looks like Jaru is going a bit off the deep end and slipping back into old habits. During this confrontation, Lark ends up revealing one of his abilities without thinking and this starts a trail of new experiences for him and when Jaru discovers this, he is drawn to Lark in a different way, but when the danger takes a turn closer to home, Jaru starts to believe that he cannot be what Lark needs and encourages another to get close to him instead.

Will Jaru be able to keep his employees and Lark safe as the threats against him and Lark escalate, or will this be the end of something which hasn’t even had the chance to start? Will Lark be able to stay safe, or continuing to take matters into his own hands put Jaru in even more danger as well? This is a story of companionship, danger, revelations and realisations as
the ties that bind are in danger of being ripped away and more problems appear than solutions, but when mental health issues and increased worry are added into the mix, you will have to read to the end to see whether they can be untangled and fixed back into place.

Sure As Hell (Life is Hell #4)Sure As Hell by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sure as Hell is the fourth book in Naomi Valkyrie’s Life Is Hell series. The series is a urban fantasy that focuses on a found family of paranormal characters and their adventures and romances.
Reading the earlier books, particularly Hell in a Handbasket, I developed a bit of a soft spot for Jaru so it was great to have a whole book that focuses on him, particularly as he gets used to his independence and learns that being independent doesn’t mean he can’t turn to others for help.
It was also good to see the character Lark develop. He’s been a fun, mischievous presence and it was interesting to learn more about him and view him not just as a bit of comic relief. And I really liked the bond between Lark and Jaru and how that changed and grew over the course of the book.
This is another enjoyable book in an exciting series. It gets five stars from me! If you like urban fantasy you’ll love this, particularly if you prefer books with LGBT+ characters. It’s definitely worth reading the books in order to get to know the characters and put the events of this book into context.

This is apparently the fourth book in a series of books by this author. I have not read and of the previous books or any books by this author until I picked up this one. I enjoyed this book, but I really do wish I had decided to read the previous books before diving into this one. I feel like now I need to go back and read all three of those and then re-read this one again. There were certain relationships in the book that I was unfamiliar with and feel like having read the previous books would have helped with that. I will say that this book made me laugh, cry, feel anger and sadness and felt very realistic. The writing was great, and the author did a great job with describing everything in depth. Towards the end of the story, I was on the edge of my seat to know the outcome with which I wasn’t disappointed. This is a great read and one that I would highly recommend you checking out. But make sure to read them in order of the series to get a better understanding of the characters and relationships.

Sure As Hell by Naomi Valkyrie is the fourth book in the fantastic Life is Hell series. This time the story focuses on Jaru and Larkspur. The great part of this series is the recurring characters and getting to see them each tell their own stories, but how they work into the stories of other characters. I recommend reading each of these in order, but I think this is written to be read also as a standalone. I really enjoyed the story of Jaru. It had me laughing and enjoying the story but also relating to the idea that when things go too well things tend to go to crap. How relatable! I love how the characters are developed and entwine around each other despite their differences. I always love picking up this series and look anxiously to the next book by this author.
