Wow, what a way to start with a new author! Without giving too much away in this quick, explosive read – the opening finds us meeting Layla and Tang as Layla returns home from a trip to settle her mothers estate. It jumps quickly into mentioning a fatal single vehicle accident at Hangman’s Bend, and thus begins the puzzle of guilt, shame, romance, suspense, tension and more.
A very exciting read and I’ll follow this author to see what worlds she builds!
If you enjoy a suspense filled novel, this is for you! The author had me on the edge of my seat from the first chapter! You follow the story of Dee and Tang. Both characters are very well developed. Tang is interesting because she is overcome with the affection she receives from Dee. Layla just did not provide the affection that Tang was looking for.
This book would be great for anyone interested in psychology. I imagine Tang would meet the DSM criteria for Reactive Attachment Disorder. The plot is also interesting to follow; very intense. I loved every second of this novel and I look forward to reading other books by this author! This novel is also LGBTQ+ friendly!

This is an amazingly dark psychological thriller with a little romantic suspense. I found myself on the edge of my seat as the book went along. This author writes in a way that truly builds the tension as it goes. The characters are just hiding secrets alll over the place and the web of lies is going out wider. One crash unravels so much deceit. Nothing really is as it seemed. This is a book that you really must check out.

First, you can read this as a standalone novel, but you’re doing yourself a disservice to not go back and read the first entries by this author. Her writing style is enjoyable no matter the level of intensity throughout the story she is weaving.
Ethan is from a wealthy family who has mostly taken his own path, but it doesn’t make him any less rich and entitled than if he had stayed enmeshed with them. He has dominant desires and can generally pick his conquest that would be interested in what he offered from across the room. When he gets roped into attending a gala on behalf of his father, he spies someone from across the room who gets his attention immediately.
While she proves to not be the woman who was pursuing him for his abundance and hurt him in the past, she is her sister and looks startlingly like the one who damaged him. Siena sets off Ethan’s interests and ideas the minute he sees her, and he hatches a plan for revenge. Fast forward some years and the story begins…Ross and Hadley meet again under bad circumstances and feelings are shared. Lives have grown while they were apart. There is a touch of kink play in the book but not the 50 shades kind.
It was a good story with a good plot. I enjoyed it. I was intrigued by the mention of his boss’ story so I might go back and read that one.

Sins of the Father is the 3rd book in the McIntire County Series. This installment follows new deputy Jolie Murdoch. For Jolie, law enforcement runs in her veins. Her father was the previous sheriff and her cousins are Nic and Cassy from the previous books. New on the force, Jolie is assigned the case of a missing girl, but then the girl’s father is found dead. Now she is tasked with not only finding the girl, if she is still alive, but finding the murderer of the father as well. Are they connected, and if so how? Who is to blame in one, or both, of the cases? Xavier came to town to escape his past, but when he is found over the dead body, he is suspect number one. It doesn’t help that he has no memory of how he got there, or what led up to that point. Sins of the father is told from different character POV so you get “inside the heads” of each one, and can really relate to them in some aspects. I love the McIntire series and can’t wait to read the next one. 5 out of 5 for me.

Ross is the fourth book in the Central Florida Stories series by Victoria Saccenti. Even though this is the fourth instalment in the series, it can be read as a standalone as each book in the series focuses on a different ‘couple’. This is a contemporary romantic suspense with DDLG dynamics (he’s a DD and she’s a Middle), tension, chemistry, pain, angst, danger, drama, agendas, mystery, action, and emotion. (Possible triggers of abuse and violence) For Ross, Hadley was always ‘the one who got away’. He’d secretly given her his heart but never thought he was good enough for her, to give her the future he thought she deserved. Now he hasn’t seen her in in the four years since she rode out of his life, so when she contacts him out of the blue, begging for help, his protective instincts kick in and he can’t refuse. Throw in Outlaw MC danger, drama, angst, and the DDLG dynamic and things certainly get interesting. Again, Victoria Saccenti developed her characters really well- crafting fully realised individuals with their own unique quirks and flaws. Both our MC’s have their own complexities, challenges, and pain- which adds an extra element of angsty tension, and plenty of emotion, to the whole story. The history between them that adds another layer to the story and gives them more depth, and a little vulnerability. I didn’t realise going into the story that there is a DDLG dynamic, as I am not a huge fan of that genre- but in saying that, the DDLG component of this story worked well. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Saccenti does next. Happy Reading!

This is a standalone romantic suspense story in the Central Florida Stories, Club Nexus universe and the first book in the series I had read. Although I am now keen on reading the previous books as the characters and setting do crossover. Ross Michaels knew that Hadley Keller, with her innocent sweetness had his heart even if he knew she was never going to be his. He hadn’t seen her since she took off on the back of his younger brother’s motorcycle four years ago, and Ross now works at the members only Club Nexus. When he receives a letter from Hadley begging him to rescue her daughter from the outlaw MC they are both trapped in, he realises that she still has his heart. Ross is determined to not only rescue her daughter but also Hadley, especially once he sees her bruises and the helplessness in her eyes. The Daddy Dom in him also recognises that Hadley is a Middle and that she needs his help, however her experiences have left her traumatised. Ross also needs to keep her safe from the MC who want her back, and will do anything to silence her as she knows the MC’s secrets. This heartwarming and at times heartbreaking romance took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading it. I really felt for Hadley, and I liked how her relationship with Ross developed throughout the story and that their chemistry really came across in the narrative. The story contained DDLG dynamics which not everyone may enjoy, but it did add an extra element to the storyline and was part of Hadley and Ross’s relationship. An enjoyable and engaging read.

We are back into Eider, Shane Hamilton is happy to have some time off as it is coming but as he enjoys his away time his phone suddenly starts ringing of the hook. Liza Bartholomew is back in the small town of Eider, tracking the evidence of the one that got away, back in action but can she find him this time, but when the case takes a turn and she has too join forces with the Sheriff can they work together to solve the murders.
This is the four book in this series and is just as thrilling and full of twists and turns as the other books. The book can be read as a stand alone story but some of the characters do inter change within the four books, Liza was first introduced in book two and the sparks flew off the page then but in this book you get to see more behind the woman and the drive. This book is full of twists and turns which have you turning the pages of the book and nearly reading this book in one sitting.
You also get to see the intense passion of Shane and some of his back history which adds to the story and you get a better insight to what makes him tick.
Another great story and can’t wait to read more in the future.

Ross was a great 5 star read. I always look forward to reading the next book from this author and I wasn’t disappointed. All I can say is Wow, Ross and Hadley’s story had so much going on. Ross had feelings for Hadley when she left town and when her cry for help came he didn’t hesitate. There are some intense scenes that may cause triggers for some. My emotions were all over the place with all the things that Hadley had gone through. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see just how things would turn out. This is a must read, so if you like MC read with some elements of darkness you will like this book. The author does a great job with her writing and I look forward to the next book. 1-click and get started today.

This is book 4 and I’m going back for more!! Ross was attracted to his brother’s girlfriend Hadley years prior but never acted on it. This is book four in The McIntire County Series. While it’s always better to read a series of books in order, I think these do well as stand alone novels. Liar, Liar is an intriguing storyline with plenty of twists, suspense, and romance to keep the pages turning. I have read the previous three books in the series and this one doesn’t disappoint!

This is book three in The McIntire County Series. It’s awesome to see a story where the PTSD of our veterans is part of the plot. Sins of the Father brings great awareness to combat PTSD. Place as a character makes the novel more interesting and secrets as a web with which all the characters are connected. I kept thinking about the characters and how the book was going to end. There is just enough romantic suspense to keep the heat between the characters going. The romance wasn’t over done and I liked that part. This book was a page turner for me!

This book does contain DDLG dynamics. Whilst DDLG play is not my favourite I still really enjoyed the story.
Victoria has given us a bit of everything to make this a page turner. There is action, suspense, drama, danger, tension, angst, emotions, BDSM, Dom/Sub, secrets, and assault, and running from a Motorcycle club. Lies and truths are revealed but trust is broken and may never heal. Her vivid narrative paints a picture and seductively draws you in with a BDSM club, Doms and Subs and hot and sexy and full of chemistry. It is an emotionally charged time as they flee from those who do harm. Hadley has known more than her fair share of pain in her life. She needs help escaping the MC she has found herself trapped in so she calls in the one person she hopes will help her. Ross is a Daddy Dominant and when his past reaches out, he will do anything to save her. He vows that he will do whatever he has to keep her safe and protected. If you like to dip your toes into BDSM and in particular DDLG play, then you will like this story. I can’t wait for what comes next.

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. This is an author that I have been reading for awhile and I enjoy her writing skills. She uses details to bring her stories to life and have a realistic feel. This book is no different. This is a well written story about breaking down walls. Hadley has put up walls to protect herself and with good reason. Ross is determined to break down these walls. Can he keep her safe from those who want her to keep her secrets? I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world. They are connectable and add so much to the entertaining value which makes it easy to read. I enjoyed watching the chemistry and growth of these characters throughout the story. This is a fast paced, engaging, hard to put down story which I highly recommend.

Wow, this book blew my socks off. I was excited to see a new story in this series and it so outdid itself. Ross and Hadley’s story is one of big challenges that must be overcome. It’s not a story for those that can’t handle tough topics. Trigger warnings for DV, sexual assault are what I would give. Ross is a man who will protect the women he loves no matter who gets in his way. I loved the writing. I was absolutely engaged the whole time. The characters, such as Kyle and Pete, were secondary yet very supportive. There were also ones such as Cutter who were a surprise. It is well-written and well-researched. It’s another wonderful addition to the series.

I can’t get enough of this series and this writer’s stories!! They grab you from the first sentence and hang onto you until the last word. Each story is full of adventure, mystery, romance, suspense, and lots of shenanigans.
This story focuses on Sheriff Shane Hamilton. He’s had a pretty rough year and that election was something else. Coming up on a very trying anniversary, Shane is looking forward to having some private time to think back over the memories of the past 19 years. When his phone starts ringing off the hook and messages are blowing up the line, he soon learns that a body was found and his idea of a private weekend is now blown to pieces.
FBI Agent Liza Bartholomew wasn’t planning to return to Eider, Iowa anytime soon. She’d rather not ever step foot back there after the last adventure she had. However, her latest suspect is leading her to Eider and some familiar faces she hasn’t seen in awhile. Trying to keep a very low profile, Liza gets word of a murder when she stops at a local convenience store. Her cover may be blown and her suspect now might get word of her arrival. Everything is blowing up in her face and her plans are shot.
When the sheriff and the FBI Agent end up realizing their cases are connecting and they find themselves spending more time together, feelings start to erupt that neither one wanted initially. The romance build is fun to read about these two!
I highly recommend reading these books in order as the back story is important to really understanding the characters in this series. I’m sure it could be read as a stand alone but there will be some important features lost. I’ve really enjoyed this series and can’t wait for more from this author!

I love Winter Austin’s books. I think this story is my favorite of the McIntire County series though. Jolie and Xavier make me fan myself. Jolie is on the search; will she prove Xavier is innocent or is he the one with the little girl? A wonderful ride of adventure and romance, that will keep you reading for hours!

I absolutely love the McIntire County series. Winter Austin brought all the same stops as before plus more. Even though this is the fourth book of the series, it can be read as a stand alone. Though if you love this story I promise you will love all the ones before. There is romance and adventure. Will Shane and Liza fall together or will they be trapped in the crosshairs?

Sins of the Father is Book Three in The McIntire County Series. It is a romantic suspense book packed with drama, action, mystery, intrigue, suspense, and murder. This book can easily be read as a standalone, but I do recommend reading the entire series because it is amazing! This story centers around the characters of Deputy Jolie Murdoch and Former Marine Xavier Hartmann. Jolie has had a difficult past and finds herself struggling to find her confidence and self-worth. When she sets off to find a missing girl that disappeared after a local event, she stumbles onto something far more sinister. Jolie finds Xavier covered in blood standing over the body of the girl’s father. He has no memory of what happened, how he got there, or if he killed the man. Xavier has traumatic brain injury because of an IED blast while he was in the service and is prone to having blackouts. The trauma from his past has also left Xavier feeling worthless and lacking in self-confidence. Jolie wants to believe he is not responsible for the man’s murder and sets off to find the real killer. As she delves into the case, she discovers this case is very similar to a cold case that her father had when he was Sherriff. As Xavier and Jolie work to find the real killer they lean on each other for support and find strength in one another. Digging into the case unravels secrets, lies, betrayal, and complex family dynamics. This was a page turner with great characters, an intriguing storyline, and twists and turns that will keep you reading until the end.

Liar, Liar is Book Four in The McIntire County Series. It is a romantic suspense book filled with action, danger, drama, crime, murder, mystery, and mayhem. The story is set in the small town of Eider, Iowa, and centers around the characters of Sherriff Shane Hamilton and FBI Agent Liza Bartholomew. Sherriff Hamilton is trying to solve the case of a series of random arsons as well as two homicides. FBI Agent Bartholomew has been tracking an elusive scam artist and is determined to bring him to justice. She learns his last known whereabouts are in Eider, Iowa and that is where she goes. When Liza Bartholomew arrives, she receives a less than friendly welcome from Sherriff Shane Hamilton. Neither want to work with the other but they soon reluctantly team up when they learn that both of their cases are somehow intertwined. Soon the two are in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a cold-blooded killer who is leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. As the two spend time together a slow burning romance begins between them, but will they act on it? Shane has seen his share of trauma in his past which haunts him to this day. He is unsure what to do with his feelings for Liza who is strong, compassionate, and kind. Liza wants a family but feels obligated to help her brother with his son. Can Liza and Shane find happiness with one another? This story is full of raw emotion, anger, sadness, hurt, loss, secrets, lies, betrayal, heartbreak, and unexpected love. The twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you reading until the end.

This is the 4th book in the McIntire County Series. These books can be read as a standalone however once you read one you will want to read them all. I love this author’s writing. The stories are gripping and full of twists and turns that keep you guessing until the end. The descriptions of places and people are what really brings this story to life. If you close your eyes you can picture everything as if it really existed and you are part of it. As with the previous books this is a murder mystery with a touch of romance. This is a story full of secrets and lies as well as danger for present circumstances and heartbreak over past experiences. The main characters are both stubborn and headstrong and this is what causes some of the conflict between them. Sheriff Shane Hamilton has a lot to deal with. With the anniversary of his wife’s death and now a dead body being found the last thing he needs is an FBI agent coming into town and making an already stressful time even worse. Liza Bartholomew has returned to the County on the trail of a dangerous man who keeps evading her. This could be her chance to finally capture him and bring him to justice but she needs the co-operation of the local sheriff who isn’t exactly thrilled to see her. Could there possible be a connection between the sheriff’s murder and the dangerous man Liza is after? When everyone they love and care about becomes targets they realise they need to work together if they are going to stop the person responsible. Is it possible for them to even work together? What will happen when the feelings turn from a dislike of each other into something romantic. How dangerous will it be for both of them to let down their guards and allow someone in to their lives. This book is a real page turner which I couldn’t put down. There is so many angles to this story but the way they all come together as they story unfolds really make these books enjoyable to read.

Another gripping read in this series set in McIntire County, and once again the setting was brought to life through the descriptive narrative. It was nice being back in Eider for another standalone story, which had me hooked throughout. Eider’s sheriff Shane Hamilton is dealing with the fallout over his recent re-election, a rash of arsons and two homicides, alongside his own personal grief, so he definitely does not need a determined FBI agent looking for vengeance in his County. FBI agent Liza Bartholomew is tracking an elusive scam artist which results in her returning to Eider, but is surprised when the town’s sheriff is decidedly unhelpful. However, Liza is looking for justice for the scam artists victims and her career is also on the line so is determined to stay. Shane and Liza are then forced to work together when they realise their cases are linked, but as their professional relationship turns into a more personal one, the body count is mounting. The couple find that it’s not just their lives at risk by their continuing investigation but also their love ones, but they continue to try and stop the cold hearted killer before he stops them. I loved the main characters and how their relationship developed throughout the story. The storyline and plot twists kept me guessing as to the outcome of the investigation and I found this a real page turner!

Liar, Liar is the fourth book in the McIntire County series by Winter Austin, who ups the ante again with this fantastic addition to the series. I have been loving this series and was excited to find out what Liar, Liar had in store for us. It’s an intriguing romantic suspense with crime and investigation, murder, mystery, action, danger, a cold-blooded killer, dramatic developments, tension, emotion, secrets, politics, duty, responsibility, and finding love unexpectedly- all wrapped up in a gripping storyline that had me hooked right from the get-go. Sheriff Shane Hamilton and FBI agent Liza Bartholomew are forced to combine their efforts and join forces when their respective cases become connected. The stakes get higher as feelings become involved- but with a dangerous killer in the mix things are going to get even more complicated. What ensues makes for a gripping read. Even though this could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one, as they will help lay foundations and ‘build’ a bigger picture which will help immerse you in the series. Not sure where we go from here, I hope this isn’t the end of the series though… Happy Reading…
