I give this book 4 out of 5 Stars. It is a great book but you definitely have to read the prequel before you start this book to understand some things. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to finish the series. I definitely was attached by the cover (the one with the skull and flowers) but stayed because of the story. I’m definitely looking forward to read more from Bella Faust.

This is the first book in this series but there is a prequel that helps set up a lot of the issues the FMC faces throughout this first book. Lilliana has been dealing with major issues caused by Alex (and let’s face it her father) that Zeke and Slash have to watch her deal with and help where she’ll let. This love triangle between her, Zeke and Slash will get you to change back and forth between her men. Then there’s the plot twists that throw you for a loop! This does end on a cliffhanger but book 2 is already out so dive in!!!

Reader discretion is advised as this story contains potentially triggering content. This is the first time I have read anything by Bella, and I had only heard good things about her work and was excited to see what she had to offer. To say I am hooked is an understatement. I had to stop reading this and go back to the first book Craving Control which I devoured in one sitting. Sleep is overrated. Tempting Fate is the first book in this highly emotional dark and angsty suspense love triangle romance story in the Black Shamrocks MC: Australia trilogy. I do love me some dark, raw and gritty MC stories. What a ride this story is. There is so much going on, but the story flowed flawlessly. The ebbs and flows just right. The plot is well done. The psychological aspect is thrilling, and the highly flammable emotions twisted me up inside. There are characters you hate to love and characters you love to hate and everything in between. I wanted to hug, slap and kick some ar*e along the way. Ok, I did say it was an emotional read. Lilianna endured a nightmare one she didn’t know if she would ever come back from but survived now her worst nightmare is back and betrayal is everywhere. Her life is falling apart, and she is not sure which way is up anymore. With buckets full of angst, betrayal, pain, hurt and fears and twists and turns it is a definite page turner. It is dark, danger is looming, it is full of chemistry, it is steamy and sizzles right off the pages. The ending, wow. Whelp you will need to read to find out for yourself. I literally can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. If you love MC stories, with a dark psychological aspect then you can’t go any further without reading this.

What an emotional rollercoaster of a read! For those readers sensitive to dark, frightening type triggers, this may not be the best story for you to read. Story focuses on Lily, who becomes part of the MC family along the side of Zeke and Slash, where a love triangle is embroiled. Her experiences I was truly, deeply able to empathize with what she’s gone through. You are able to detect Lily’s strength and resilience through it all! Through unfortunate circumstances, readers can appreciate the courage and bravery emitted from Lily’s situation. Even though parts of it were difficult to digest, I do look forward to the next installment to see where these characters are led into in the next story.

I have said it once and I will say it again, please please please check trigger warnings. Your mental health is important. I will start this out with I feel like I should have read the book Craving Control before this, that way I would have had a little more understanding. But that is on me and of no fault to the author. When she says she writes dark she means it! I love a good love triangle and Zeke, Lily & Slash did not disappoint. And add in the MC portion of this and I was HOOKED. Tempting Fate is Book One in the Black Shamrocks MC: Australia trilogy, but the second book in the series. This book is dark, angsty, romantic, steamy, and intense. It centers around the character of Lily who has worked hard to reclaim her life and move forward. Lily is strong, ferocious, smart, determined, and refuses to back down or play the part of a victim. After fighting for her life and finally beginning to see a bright future her past comes back to haunt her. Lily has Zeke/Venom by her side to protect her and look out for her, but her family and MC world seem to be crumbling. Lily loves her MC family and will do anything for them, but will they have her back when she needs it? I loved the character of Lily and how ferocious and strong she was. Her and Zeke were well matched, but it was such a rocky road for them because there always seemed to be something or someone getting in their way. This book had passion, chemistry, romance, drama, suspense, grief, trauma, betrayal, and will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Warning: It also contains subject matter that may be a trigger for some so please read the author’s warning prior to choosing to read this.

This is the first book in the Black Shamrocks MC: Australia Duplicity Trilogy, but not the first in the overall series. There is so much in this book: secrets, betrayal, action, twists and more.
This book is very dark, so I would highly recommend checking the trigger warnings before reading!
The characters are complex, well-written and believable. They tug on the heartstrings, playing on your emotions and occasionally leave you stunned. I really felt for Lily, she’d already been through so much that no one should ever go through, only to have more awfulness thrown at her.
I haven’t read the previous books in the full series but will do now as I feel I would get so much more out of this one if I had. I look forward to reading more from this author!

This is definitely a dark book, but not nearly as dark as in the prequel Craving Control. Beware of the trigger warnings, because it does get down to the nitty-gritty in some parts of the book, but if you like dark and soulful books, this is the one for you! Love, hate, worship, deceit, betrayal, altruism, infidelity, and extreme tension; this book has it all. The love between Lily and Venom is so pure and raw, but gets overshadowed by each character’s inability to stop themselves from putting themselves in danger for each other and the ones that they love. Are they soulmates or are they just two people that fell in love at a young age and have fooled themselves into thinking that they are each others’ forever? I am dying to find out! Between the malice of the president of the club, the games that the rivals are playing at, and the potential rat in the nest, it’s left me wondering… just who will be Lily’s husband by the end of the next book and where does that leave the club? Absolutely phenomenal and must read!

Tempting Fate by Brinda Berry is her second book in the Serendipity Series and I absolutely loved it! This is the story of Collin Cordova who we met in the first book “Chasing Luck”, as Malerie’s friend and business partner. Collin, has a flourishing business, great friends, and he thought the love of his life in Raquel, but he soon discovers that she has betrayed him. He is left bitter, angry, and broken-hearted when Veronica Marshall literally crashes into his life. He can’t believe that she rear-ends him and then takes off, only to be found hitchhiking a short time later.
Veronica, is running scared from her life back home. She is fragile, broken, and clearly not in her right mind, but Collin sees something besides desperation behind her eyes. He can’t resist wanting to help her, even though he knows he may end up regretting it. “My urge to help her, fix her, know her… is a dangerous one. I can’t get involved.” When Collin notices bruises on her and that she won’t take any calls from her brother Gunnar, he assumes it must be her brother that has hurt her. The truth however, may be far worse.
When Collin offers to let Veronica stay with him one night she secretly wonders if he is a murderer. “What’s in your trunk?” “My what?” “Chainsaw? Garbage bags? Since neither one of them had a great family life, they are both scared and hesitant to take a leap of faith. They begin a friendship that requires each of them to let down their walls a little and trust. Something they don’t even believe in considering all they have dealt with. Collin doesn’t believe that there is a woman who isn’t a lying cheat and Veronica doesn’t believe there is a man capable of being kind and good. “Is there such a thing as a nice jackass?” When their worlds collide they may soon discover their impressions are wrong, but will they be able to tear down the walls of protection? Can they find a compromise that allows them to be their own person, but also be together? Will Veronica continue on the run right out of Collin’s life and away from her troubles? Is there really such a thing as happily ever after when two people have been so hurt, betrayed, and let down?
This story has strong main characters and supporting characters. It updates us on Malerie and Ace from “Chasing Luck” and introduces us to Gunnar, Beck, Dylan, Emerson, and Jordy. The writing is captivating, smooth, and so funny at times. I think that Brinda Berry captures the essence of each character and lets us see them from the inside out. The story is told in Collin and Veronica’s POV’s. I can’t wait to get my hands on “Seducing Fortune”
