After reading Ten Little Starfish, I just had to jump in to read the other counting books like it. This not only has a great counting aspects but also has some really great descriptive learning words which we loved to practice. I also loved the little tidbits at the end of the books about the sandpipers.I now have to go read other books from this talented author. My littles will love them just like they love these ones.

My kiddos and I have read a few books by this lovely author before and picked this one up as we love anything involving the beach! The illustrations in this story are absolutely beautiful and brought a smile to our faces as well. There are some fun facts towards the end that none of us knew! It was so cool to learn those together. The rhythmic rhyming had all of us bopping along as we read it out and made it sound like a song. This would be a great addition to any classroom, library, or home collection for young ones!

This counting book has adorable illustrations and works on counting up to ten. The story follows sandpipers as they are playing on the beach until they end up falling asleep. At the end of the book there are facts about sandpipers, and a find and count with other sea creatures. I would highly recommend this book.

I’ve previously read the Ten Little Sea Turtles in this collection and it was so great that I already knew this one would be as well! And honestly I didn’t even know what sandpipers were until I read this book. So even though it is a book for children, as a parent, it doesn’t hurt to keep learning! These little cute birdies keep adding up to its group on each page in different sequences of events. Children are exposed to extensive language and exploration of beach life in a group setting. My favorite part is when they meet up with their mother and line up behind her as to infer on following their parent, role model, teacher, or any leader influence. Little tidbits of information are shared on sandpipers as well.

Ten Little Sandpipers is a cute counting book that will surely be a hit for toddlers and preschoolers.

The author uses rhythmic text and bright colors to engage young children. The sandpipers have a great adventure and encounter many other sea creatures, teaching children the value of conservation.

I loved the facts included at the end. I had no idea sandpipers change their colors when trying to impress other sandpipers. I also loved the games included at the end, which will reinforce teaching children how to count. As with the other books, there is a QR code included that children can listen to and sing along to.

We had barely finished the last book by this author when we picked up this one straight away. As we have already come to expect, this book was fun, educational and such a pleasure to read. My kids had never heard of Sandpipers before so it was a great way for them to not only learn about them, but to reinforce the learning of numbers.
Every time we read one of these books, my son in particular will spend days counting everything we come across. It is great to see him take so much away with these books and we will definitely be reading more!

We count them while they are having fun on the beach. Children get to see the things sandpipers get into while learning to count. The illustrations are beautiful. Children will love reciting the rhymes. Parents will appreciate all the facts that their little ones are learning.

What a cute counting book for younger kids! I love that this author takes random animals and helps children not only learn how to count, but also gives them some cute fun facts about them as well. Kids can learn so much by reading and these books are perfect for that! I didn’t know some of these facts! Did you know that sandpipers can change their colors?? How cool is that?! The illustrations in this book are adorable and match the story so well. I can’t wait to read more of these. These books are great for toddlers and preschoolers. Wonderful first library books too!!

Ten Little Sandpipers by Kim Ann is a perfect book for young kids! Not only were my kids counting the Sandpipers but they wouldn’t let me go to the next page until they could count every little thing in the picture. From the clouds to the mountains, seashells, crabs… didn’t matter what it was they HAD to count it all. There are little facts about Sandpipers at the end too which started up a bunch of questions from my kiddos.

Ten Little Sandpipers: A Counting Book is the first book in this lovely series- A Counting Collection by Kim Ann. It is another fun learn-to-count picture book that is accompanied by lovely, cute, interesting, and colourful illustrations that easily captures your attention, while bringing the whole story to life.
The rhyming verses that told the story are a great way to help teach young children to count. This also has the added interest of having some Sandpiper ‘facts’ listed at the end of the book, as well as a ‘finder’ puzzle that made this storybook both educational and fun.
Highly recommended. An engaging, fun, imaginative, and enjoyable children’s picture book- with sweet illustrations, that help children learn to count along the way.
My grandson loved reading this with me.
Looking forward to whatever Kim Ann brings us next.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Kim Ann!
