In book 3 you see Astrid and Irsa again. Only this time a little different. After book 2 Irsa has changed a little. She’s not the same witch as from before. There’s something different about her.

You see a different side of Astrid this time. You still see him as Isras constant companion, and lover , but you see something completely different. Almost possessive.
I was glad to see more from his perspective and more about his history! They both prevail over their monsters and it’s not over yet! I can’t wait to read more about Isra!!!

I loved this book. The perspective wasn’t quite exactly first person and not fully third person, but the narrative was done beautifully. I was quite sad the entire book for Irsa. It mentions a big event that happened to her, that made her go dark, it never mentions it fully just referring to it as the “it” event. The entire time I could see how this changed her and how much she really didn’t care. Then comes Kane and Astrid. I wanted to kill Kane myself for what he did. He’s your a typical “I’m gods gift to the world” arrogant cocky SOB. I wanted to strangle him and his “poor me it’s my fault” pity party.
I absolutely loved when Astrid was introduced. He is Irsa’s perfect match in every way. He doesn’t care that she’s what she is. He supports her no matter what she does. I really hope to see more of their relationship blossom and see more of these two. I’m hoping we get more background of Irsa. What is “the event?” She keeps referring to. Can’t wait to read the next book!!

Isra has done it again. She wrote a beautiful second book and gave us more perspectives of Miss Isra the witch. The ending of book 2 absolutely broke my heart for Astrid. I hope this isn’t the end for these two.

Isra this book grew. She surprised me with how much she got better but still kept true to her dark roots. I got some whiplash from her good choices and bad choices and even sometimes her thought process. I think that’s what made her more relatable. I’m constantly going back and forth between good and bad things.

You definitely see a darker side to Astrid this book. But it raises more questions. What about his past does he not want known?
I can’t wait to read book 3!

Her Blackened Rose is the third book in the Blackened Series by Isra Sravenheart. I highly recommend reading the series in order because the story continues throughout the books. This time the dark Lady Isra is challenged with trust and deception. Whom can she trust? Astrid and Isra are facing issues and then there is a missing man whose family blames Isra for the disappearance. In this book, the stakes are higher and there is more action and suspense to the story. I like how the series has developed and I have become more interested in Lady Isra’s story. Also, there is an interesting development of what constitutes dark and evil. Perceptions change when there is more knowledge.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series and seeing what happens with Lady Isra next.

Her Blackened Heart by Isra Sravenheart is the second book in the Blackened series. I recommend reading the first book before this to enjoy the book fully. The story takes us and gives us insight into the past of Lady Isra. There are battles of light and dark and of mortal and immortal. I really enjoyed the new characters and the development of Lady Isra and Astrid. I also enjoyed the development of the ongoing story and am curious as to what will happen as the series progresses. I look forward to reading the next book in this series soon.

Her Blackened Soul by Isra Sravenheart is the first book in the Blackened Series. Lady Isra is a dark witch and the primary character of this book. I enjoyed the idea of the story from the villain’s point of view. She is a dark character who has taken on powers that limits who can see her. I liked that the story is from a different view and that she is a relatable character despite being bad. The story kept me reading and wanting to know how this would work with Lady Isra and her powers. I am looking forward to reading more in this series soon.

This book picks up right at the end of book two. Lady Isra has survived her battle with Everilda, but something has changed in her. She doesn’t seem to be quite as dark as before and Astrid is concerned that she may have lost her immortality.
Contessia is still around, but because of Isra’s distraction she lounges around the tower staying away from evreryone.
This book shows that everything happens for a reason, and if you are patient enough, you’ll learn that reason. I adore the relationship between Isra and Astrid and want more!!!

Isra is a witch, but not just any witch. She’s a dark witch who wants to stay that way! Humans are a distration that she could live without, but she will help them when it suits her.
Kane is a “virtuous” knight wanting help with the ladies, but he doesn’t want to do the work himself. He seeks out Lady Isra to make his dreams come true, however Isra can see through his wicked heart and punishes him!
This is not your typical fairy tale story, but it does show that evil has it’s own sense of right and wrong. A new take on the evil witch and the morals of evilness

Her Blackened Rose (Blackened #3)Her Blackened Rose by Isra Sravenheart

This third book in the series brings with it familiar characters and new developments. It opens with Lady Isra surviving her “death” at the end of book 2, and shows the changes that this experience has wrought on her. Astrid goes on a journey to determine whether Isra is still immortal, or if she is now susceptible to malevolent attack. An important question, as Isra has a new enemy in Kane’s little brother.
I appreciated some of the descriptions of people and scenes… they were illustrative and created a vision of what was being described. Descriptions of Ronald’s thinking were particularly illuminative. I found myself sometimes confused by the writing, as there seemed to be words used improperly fairly frequently. It made reading mildly irritating. Once I got used to it, the story unfolded well, and it was a good addition to this series.

Who doesn’t love a story about villainous witches. Book 2 picks up right from the end of book one. If anything i enjoyed this one more than the first. Lady Isra is still in her tower with her lover cloaked with her dark magic away from humans and her enemies, but someone or something manages to get through the enchantment and Isra knows exactly how to manipulate and weave her way out of danger with her sneaky tricks.

The author continues weaving her tale that transfixed this reader from start to finish. This is not one I would recommend picking up without having read the rest of the series simply because the character development is best appreciated in full. It is a fascinating fantasy. It feels authentic and original. This book and series continue to explore the line between good and evil in a very interesting way. I enjoy this author’s work and hope to read more soon.

Lady Isra opens this book in the arms of Astrid, her lover. He seems to be the touch of light that her dark soul needs. But are his motives as pure they seem?

I liked the voice in this Book 2 better. We get to spend a bit of time as the troll Klinq and with Astrid in his human and raven forms. I enjoyed reading their voices and seeing a bit into what was happening for other characters. Isra has mellowed a touch, and while still hates humans, it is usually circumspectly, from a distance. Everilda is an interesting character, and added some depth to the story. A good tale for Fairy Tale lovers.

Her Blackened Rose picks up right on the cliffhanger we were left with in Her Blackened Heart; following the riveting tale of Lady Isra and her love, Astrid. Author Isra Sravenheart’s books genuinely keep getting more and more captivating as the saga and adventure continues. Her Blackened Soul (The Blackened, #1)Her Blackened Soul by Isra Sravenheart
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lady Isra is a witch who has embraced the darkest parts of her soul, and become a truly fearsome witch indeed. She detests her human neighbours, comparing them to infected boils. However, she occasionally helps one of them with a spell or two, and so a brave few come to request her help. When she is warned that a man approached who meant her danger, she set to work to destroy him.

There is lots going on in this plot, which is engaging in seeing where the twists and turns will go. The characters are archetypical and so fairly easy to grasp. The story has an omniscient narrator which gave the impression of hearing someone tell a fairy tale, which fit with the storyline. I found this a bit frustrating myself, because I couldn’t truly feel like I was escaped into the story when the narrator kept reminding me of the distance. It did make sense for the genre though, and evoked a feeling of a bedtime story. It will be interesting to see where the story goes from here.

Isra and Astrid have been very naughty. They seem to have fallen over to the dark side and now it’s time to take responsibility for their actions. Isra is a witch back from the dead but she doesn’t remember what happened. You find yourself empathizing with Isra even though she is a bit dark. We all fell that way at times. She is just trying to figure out what happened and get her life right. I felt a lot empathy for her. Though he came in at the end, Samuel was my favorite character because he felt like Astrid’s conscience. What are you going to do? Make the right choice. Being a lover of old castles, I found the descriptions of Isra’s castle made it fun to picture as I read. Overall, it was a fun book. Great theme, fun characters.

Lady Istra and Astrid the Raven turned man return in the next installment of this series, they are still living in Lady Isra’s tower and they are each others confidant, friend, lover and a match with regards to the darkness within them, the compliment each other and look out for each other and their combined darkness thrills them both. Contessia is welcomed into the household and makes the acquaintance of Lady Istra and Astrid where she has tea and conversations, however when the day becomes late, she is invited to stay, however, this will be a night Contessia will never forget.

As a new day dawns, Contessia is sure that she has made a mistake entering into this tower, however, she is worried about her friend and is drawn back to the place despite her misgivings, this is where Lady Istra takes her under her tutelage of the dark arts and begins to mold Contessia into a new image. Astrid understands Lady Istra’s reasoning and also partakes in molding this innocent young witch, but in a less friendly manner, however, he isn’t the only one, an old acquaintance of Lady Istra’s, Everilda makes a sudden reappearance in her life, however, the reunion is not a happy one and suspicions reign as to what this person’s intentions are. As Everilda and Lady Istra’s bad blood escalates and Everilda’s motives become clear, an all out war between the two is inevitable, will the use of innocents be one witch’s undoing? Who will come out on top in the end and will there be too much collateral damage to deal with? This is another magical adventure of rivalry, a clashing of past and present as memories and realities combine to create a conclusion which you will not want to miss out on.

Her Blackened Rose is book three of The Blackened Series. As with the first two books we follow an original story of a dark fairy tale. This series is set apart from a normal fairy tale because it’s based on the Villain, and not a princess. For a series that started off slow this third installment was a great installment because it was full of fantasy, witchcraft, magic, drama, and more. Ms. Sravenheart gave us a lot to think about in this installment including hidden agendas, mystery, danger and secrets making her readers desperately want to know what happens next. Her Blackened Soul was an interesting read, while I typically love paranormal romances I found this one a little more difficult to get into. While the story has a great premise there were times that I felt that the story lagged and I wasn’t able to get lost completely in the story. However Ms. Sravenheart did give me everything that I love in a paranormal romance including magic, drama, twists and turns, and more. Her Blackened Soul is based entirely on a villain which is one of the many reasons I did enjoy it, it’s the first installment in The Blackened series. Although it did have times that the story lagged I generally enjoyed Her Blackened Soul, Ms. Sravenheart’s character development was wonderful and I can’t wait for part two.

Her Blackened Rose is the third book in the Blackened Series by Isra Sravenheart. It is about a very, very dark witch who wants what she wants and will not take no for an answer. As I said with the other two books, Isra has given us an original concept that makes the story intriguing, and I must say I like this book better than I did the first two. This dark fairy-tale has a lot going on and not everyone is as they seem. Throw in some action and magic, lies and revenge and of course witches there is something for fantasy lovers who love a little dark story.

Her Blackened Soul (The Blackened, #1)Her Blackened Soul by Isra Sravenheart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lady Isra is a powerful witch who lives in a tower in the middle of the forest, she is as dark as dark can be and she is known for it, the local villagers say that she should be avoided at all costs, that she is wicked and evil and that she has power, beauty, control and authority, but she has a cold heart thanks to a lost love and the bitterness which has led her down this dark path, however, she adores nature and everything in it, apart from humans, she has no time for them, but they still come to her for help from time to time and she does just that, as long as they have no ulterior motives which would impact on herself. When she isn’t doing that, she is gaining knowledge and learning about the world around her, even though she casts an invisibility spell that only those with magical abilities will be able to find her in her self imposed isolation and this led her to her darkest spell yet, she ignores all the warnings from her peers and other magical beings and goes after the power of transformation, to merge herself with a dragon, to absorb its magic and keep it for herself, so she goes for a walk in the woods and does just that, she enters a trance-like state of meditation and the dragon approaches her, she speaks with it before plunging a dagger into its heart and after being covered in its emerald blood, she heads home to think about what she has gained.

As the days and weeks passed, Lady Isra and her surroundings became blackened in more ways than one, she is now feared by those around her, darker and more isolated than ever and she has no intention of changing any time soon, but that changes when she meets a python on one of her walks in the forest, as they share a conversation, they find out a little more about the others, Lady Isra feels a connection and kinship with the snake and so she agrees not to harm any of his kind and promises to stop by to converse with him again in the future. As she leaves, Lady Isra thinks about the conversation they had and the information about the stranger who will make themselves known to her, she wonders what his intentions will be and what will come about from them.

Time passes for Lady Isra and she has more conversations with her friend, however, she also makes another one when a raven appears and introduces himself as Astrid, he is from another land and wishes to assist Lady Isra in her plans, he knows she is powerful and dark and it hasn’t put him off seeking her out. As Lady Isra continues with her dark plans, Astrid is further drawn to the enigmatic witch and she is drawn to him, he is a magnificent animal and the darkness is as strong within him as it is within her. Where will the darkness take Lady Isra and Astrid and will they be able to travel on this dark path together, or will the darkness rip them apart? This is a dark romance with magic woven throughout as you follow along the path of darkness to find out where it leads.

His brother has disappeared, and he knows the witch, Lady Isra, is behind it. Becoming a warlock has always been his dream. To get back at Lady Isra, he must be well-versed in the darker arts. Can he bring Lady Isra to her knees?

The third book in this series is definitely a keeper. Isra Sravenheart has outdone herself in the writing of this series. Each book tells a little different story. Her Blackened Soul tells the story of Lady Isra. Lady Isra is a witch that has embraced the dark arts. She takes the power of a dragon and becomes more powerful. Isra is a dangerous witch that all young people are told to steer clear of. Her charm is captivating, and she entrances those she meets. In the case of Kane, a mere mortal seeking to be all possessive of women, Isra is enraged that he desires to hold that kind of power of women. She takes him in as her slave. This is the story of that time.

I found this book to be very strange when I started reading it. As time wore on, I became more captivated with the story and enjoyed reading the story. Though it was repetitive at times the story is truly enthralling.

This is the 3rd book in the Blackened Series and I would suggest reading the first two to get a good feel for the characters. I love the mixture of fairy-tale and magic. What makes these books unique is that they are written from the view of the “villian” Lady Isra.

Lady Isra is a witch who tends to sway more towards the dark side of things. When she is brought back to life she spends time with her raven-man Astrid.
Astrid is the love of Lady Isra and in this book I feel that he has become more of a dark force in her life. However things and people aren’t what they seem and when secrets from the past collide with the future it’s hard to know what and who to trust. Add to this story Ronald who’s is seeking revenge for his brother Kane and Lady Isra disappearing and it makes for a packed adventure full of twists and turns that will keep you gripped and guessing all the way along.
