Great read although from the start the cover changed on my kindle and I almost thought I picked up the wrong book lol
First, I never knew there was really something called A Casket Girl, and it seems it was a real thing, basically a girl brought from France to Marry aka A casquette girl. On that note it took this story and transformed it into something more fascinating and exceptional to keep my wanting more.
Greer the FMC was awesome, and I felt that she was more Intune to a lot of what is going on and special right from the start. Everyone else in the beginning on the boat seemed a bit naive and excited for the new life they were going into. I liked the suspense and shows how things don’t always go as planned.
I always give out too much info when talking about a book and spoilers, but I usually keep it simple when I feel like I’m bursting. I am looking forward to buying the next book and reading more by this author.

A.D. Brazeau hit my sweet spot with this first book in The Casket Girls series. I am a sucker for any paranormal romance that includes vampires and Greek mythology! Also Blood and Ravens is perfectly spicy, loved it so much! I loved the tension between Greer and Theron. It was the perfect amount and the backdrop of 1700s New Orleans was really cool and well written. Of course I am going to snag the second book in this tantalizing series, Blood and Vengeance! I highly recommend this series!

I hadn’t read any books by this author before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked this up. I was absolutely blown away by how quickly I was engrossed in this world! I couldn’t put it down and ended up ignoring many (all of) my chores for the entire day. This is the first book in The Casket Girls series and already a favorite of mine. The number of twists and turns in this book were mind-blowing! Just when I thought I had something figured out, the author suddenly made a change that fit perfectly even though I wasn’t expecting it. The characters are amazing. I love it when a book is written in dual points of view as it allows me to experience the characters a little deeper. I am on my way to pick up the second book in the series because I need more from this author. If you enjoy captivating paranormal romances, please don’t pass this up!

Greer and Theron, our main characters, weren’t meant to fall in love. The circumstances in how or why they met was meant to leave Greer deceased, but Theron had other plans. Greer is facing a marriage to a stranger after being taken from her hometown of Paris against her will. In order to save the friends she has made in the convent, as well as Theron, she makes a deal with Hades himself. Does she succeed in saving her loved ones? This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it. Both leads were strong and the story was easy to follow. I will definitely be picking up the second book.

Great story. Well written and full of twists. I was surprised by some of the characters in it. It was a Paranormal fantasy romance. It had vampyrs, demons, humans, and Greek Gods. There is mention of ghosts and werewolves being in the world but they dont make an appearance into the story. I’ll definitely read the next book.

A Gothic New Orleans. I loved the overall feeling this book had. A.D Brazeau has a way with words and this book does not disappoint. The book is full of darkness, but also small bits of romance, paranormal aspects, as well as greek mythological characters and the fact that it is based on a historical situation, makes it all that better. (the author obviously took creative liberties with the history)
One of the main characters, Greer, is such a strong-willed, and brave young woman. She was not like the other “casket girls”, she did not want to be sent oversea to marry a stranger, she was taken by force. Given no other choice, Greer has decided to make a deal with Hades to help her and her friends, as well as Theron. Does Greer succeed in saving those who are close to her?
Even though there are creative liberties with what is the “truth” about the casket girls, I very much enjoyed this book and the mix of historical information, greek mythology, and the paranormal aspects that have surrounded the casket girls’ stories. I have seen a good bit of New Orleans, including the Old Ursuline Convent, and so it was very easy for me to imagine everything said in the book, which I loved. I absolutely will be reading book 2 and recommend this book to anyone who loves historical, paranormal romance.

Blood and Ravens is the first book in The Casket Girls series by A.D. Brazeau. A absolutely amazing dark, paranormal romance. This was my introduction to this author and I truly adored the attention to such intricate minute details, beautifully written characters, and just overall an incredible start to a series. I fell in love with this book and absolutely could not put it down, I just had to know where the story went. Highly recommend this book and author, and can’t wait to dive into the next one!

Blood and ravens by A.D. Brazeau and I was truly pulled into and enjoyed this paranormal story. I found this story to be well written and showed off the writers knack to showing the author’s writing skills and attention to very intricate details…. which really made the story come to life on every page. I also enjoyed how A.D. made the characters have a very creative feel and that kept me engaged throughout the book. I found this to be a fast paced story that was full of action and even some romance here and there. Greer and Theron are the main characters and I felt like they had great chemistry and growth. You don’t want to miss what happens with these two. I really thought that they were really great characters that made the story entertaining. I found that this was story that was hard to put down. I’m not always too much into paranormal books but this great paranormal story that took me on an unexpected adventure that had me coming back for more! I truly recommend this book..I don’t think that you will be disappointed!!

Everything about this book is loveable ! A breeze on the sea to read while still being exciting, mysterious, suspenseful, & amusing. Brimming with powerful women & sisterhood , led by a delightfully kick@$$ fmc . & who doesn’t love a smolderingly villainous man with a soft spot for his woman ? they make delicious spice ! I cant help myself , I loveeee the Hades & Persephone tweak ! Can’t WAIT to read more of this story !

Excellent! I really enjoyed this dark, paranormal romance! The author writes a seamless story that is engaging and easily flows. The characters and story really come alive through the writing and keeps the reader turning the pages. This is told from alternating points of view following main characters of Greer and Theron—whose stories intertwine. They are an odd pairing of characters, but I was intoxicated with reading their story and really loved the development of each of them. I also quite enjoyed the setting, both the time period and the city of New Orleans within that time period. I was unaware of the story of the casket girls prior to reading this, but I really enjoyed the take on those stories. This was an out of this world read that I highly recommend!

Greer is kidnapped and wakes upon a boat having no clue what is going on. Finding out she is a casket girl, women from France who traveled by boat to New Orleans and were married off. Greer is not thrilled with the idea of marriage, but she finds herself in a haze while seeing what she believes is a man. Could such a thing happen, with Greer’s life completely upside down she plans to find out what is true and what is not. Will Greer be able to find the truth and what happens when she does?
I thoroughly enjoyed this one, was not familiar with the Casket Girls story but I definitely want to know more now. I liked Greer, she could have just accepted her new fate but she is a strong woman who wants to find her own path. Definitely had a gothic feel to the story, the pacing was perfect. Will be reading more from this author.

Love, love, love this series already. This was my introduction to the outstanding A.D. Brazeau’s work, and I cannot wait to read more. The dual perspectives of Greer and Theron, Blood & Ravens transports you into history with a twist. Greer was an orphan but was told her mother was in Paris. At age twenty to finally took her fate into her own hands, leaving England for Paris to find her mother and finding her place in the world. She has “dreams” about a dark knight and the need to unravel the mystery of who he is and what he looks like. Until the night that changed everything, and she woke up on a ship in the middle of the ocean headed for another continent. Theron once was a prince in the underworld until Persephone’s flirting got him banished by Hades. While he is different from the creatures he is forced to work for and with his bosses’ big plans it’s time to leave France and go to America. Greer finds herself in the hull of a ship with at least forty girls but unlike them she and a handful of others did not volunteer they were taken. In the terrible situation she finds a group with four others, one of which is just like her, taken and forced to be in this new place, their fates taken from them. Having made land Theron must continue with the next phase of the plans and feels with his boss Rook half a world away it is his place to take the lead in the transition to New Orleans. He has moments, he’s getting too invested into his “little rabbit” until the unimaginable in his life he finds softness, warmth and love risking everything to help her and her friends. Given no choice Greer risks everything to make a deal with Hades himself to help Theron and her friends. What will happen to Greer? Does she succeed in saving those she cares about? While the world may not be completely based in reality, the interjection of historical information mixed with the paranormal makes this book golden. Having seen the Old Ursuline Convent in person when I finally went to New Orleans this book captured it perfectly. The twists of not only Theron’s being and origin but that of vampyrs in general in this world were a refreshing twist. I truly cannot wait to jump into book two, Blood & Vengeance to see Desiree’s story and see what happens next with Greer and Theron.

This is book one in The Casket Girls series. I can’t wait to get into book two! This one had me turning page after page to find out what happened next. I really liked Greer’s character. Despite waking up and finding out she was kidnapped, just to be sold off as some strange man’s wife, she never gives up. I loved the paranormal and enemies to lovers aspect. This book really kept my attention. I highly recommend this book. You won’t regret it.

In the 17th century of New Orleans, nothing is as it seems. Greek Gods, and vampires oh my! Greer was used to living her life in Paris, until something happens and she finds herself as a casket girl, and drawn towards the mysterious Theron. She is very drawn to him and she doesn’t know why. Enter Hades. Lord of the underworld, and a very wrathful person. This author knows what they’re doing in this series. The writing is captivating, and the little bit of historical facts littered throughout the books, is amazing. I couldn’t simply put it down and found myself reading into the wee hours of the morning. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Blood & Ravens by A.D. Brazeau was very well written. The flow of the story, the POV of each character, and the way the story unfolds in my opinion was top tier.
Greer is a smart and resourceful. Theron isn’t what I expected but it made the story interesting. I love enemy to lovers books and this one hit the mark. I cannot wait for the next one.

Blood and Ravens by A.D. Brazeau is book one to The Casket Girls series. I honestly believe this is one of the best paranormal stories I have read in a long time and absolutely loved essentially everything about it. All the characters were all well-developed. I particularly loved Greer and Theron and their forbidden love as Theron is trying to please Hades but cannot help what he is feeling for his “little rabbit”. Plenty of other paranormal aspects add lots of depth to this story. The gothic setting also gave me a certain aesthetic that I can never get enough of. The author’s writing was exceptional and kept me engaged and the pages turning from beginning to end. I was overtaken by intrigue from the very first page, and it didn’t stop even after the story ended. I am definitely hoping for more to come!

This book is different from what I normally read, I usually just go for the paranormal but thought to switch it up a bit and I couldn’t be happier in doing so. This book was incredible. The story and conflicts and just everything in it kept me on my seat and wanting to read it more. This book really took on a classic and made it into a new way to look at the paranormal. The story flowed so well together that it never made me feel lost and had to turn back again. I really enjoyed the characters but especially Greer she is strong and could sense things and see things that no one else could. I really can’t wait to know if there will be more to this story and what more it could offer.

Brazeau – Review by Jennifer Reimer
In the shadows of 1728 New Orleans, a sinister fate looms over the casket girls, their lives hanging by a thread. A demon, condemned to an eternity as a bloodthirsty vampire, and a young woman stolen from her tranquil Parisian existence find their destinies intertwined. Together, they embark on a harrowing journey to liberate the casket girls from a fate more horrifying than death itself. 22-year-old Greer is plucked from her simple life in Paris and thrust into the enigmatic world of the casket girls in New Orleans. In a convent, promised to a stranger, her life takes a chilling turn. As Greer grapples with vivid dreams of a nocturnal visitor she dubs the “Dark Knight,” a spine-tingling revelation shakes her to her core—these visions are not mere dreams. Greer and her companions are being drained by the ominous creatures lurking within their coffin-shaped chambers. Enter Theron, a demon cursed by Hades to live out his eternity as a bloodsucking vampire. His icy heart, once devoid of warmth, thaws in the presence of the woman who was supposed to be nothing more than sustenance. As Theron becomes ensnared by her charms, he risks everything to aid Greer and her friends, placing himself squarely in the crosshairs of Hades’ unrelenting fury. To free Theron and save her companions, Greer must make a sacrifice to the lord of the Underworld. But will it suffice, especially when Hades is the least of their concerns? Blood and Ravens, a dark and gripping paranormal romance, unfurls against the backdrop of 1728 New Orleans. This is the first book of The Casket Girls Series, a tale of forbidden love, supernatural peril, and the enduring battle against an impending darkness that threatens to consume them all.

Desiree is hunting the remaining vampires with some help from Theron. Jacob is a vampire that wants to find a way to hunt without killing. I could not put this book down. The setting of New Orleans makes this all the more reason to read this. I’ve never been there but I am adding New Orleans on my places to visit list. I love reading books that make me want to travel. The author did not disappoint. I hope we get novels in this series. The covers are so beautiful and alluring that it entices one pick it up. Brazeau – Review by Moriah Venable
I was so excited to get to read book 2 of The Casket Girls series and it did not disappoint. The story picks up right after the end of book 1, then expands on a few new characters and personalities.
Book 2 finds Desiree with a plan to help all of those residing in New Orleans and that included clearing out all of the vampires. All except for Jaxon and Theron, of course.
With Greer away, Theron has to learn to cope without her. He joins Jaxon and Desiree with the new adventure.
While the imagery and plot are dark, the romance and mystery livens up (and lights up) this book which is a great addition to the series.
The way the author goes into such detail when describing New Orleans helps transport you into another time.
If you are a fan of paranormal mysteries with a romantic twist, this is the book for you. I loved it!!

We are welcomed back into this second book of this series with our main woman Desiree. After the events of book one she had one thing in mind. And that was the vampires need to be dealt with. Dealt with in the way of getting rid of them.
But, the arrival of another player in power makes that a much harder task to accomplish. I finished this in one sitting and truly cannot wait to read more from this author!!!!!

This was the second book I have read by A.D. Brazeau and I’m loving each book. So, in this book Desiree is our main character who is helping Theron, the vampire, her friends BF, fight off other vampires throughout the city. Desiree is determined to fight and kill the other vamps but then she meets Jaxon. Jaxon who wants to change and not kill innocent people anymore wants to learn to control himself and be like Theron. You see where I’m going…. Will Desiree have the happy ending that Greer did and find someone to love and that loves her back? This series is a MUST READ! If I could give it more stars I would!

This book was just as compelling as the first one in the series! I started reading and didn’t want to stop. Desiree is such a strong-willed, yet compassionate person who has the courage to stand up and face the true monsters while understanding those who were forced into being. Jaxon is such an interesting character, and the two of them have so much in common yet so many differences too, making them perfect for each other. I adore the dynamic between Desiree, Fosette, Sylvie, and Theron – made families are so beautiful! Everything about the way this book was written was amazing and I can’t wait for the next one!

This is the 2nd book in the Casket Girls series. I love Desiree so much. She is so strong and determined to live her life on her own terms. Then Jaxon comes into their life. Desiree does not want any man much less a vampire. Can he change her mind? Will they be able to survive the latest threat to the peaceful existence they want to live?

The author did it again with this book. This story and the writing are incredible. The author took Desiree to a new level of story. Desiree really had her light shine with her determination really shined bright. Desiree showed that she was capable of leading and showed herself that she could do anything. When I saw that the author made a second novel, especially about Desiree I was excited to know her side of the story and what she was up to in New Orleans. If you like some adventure and mystery Desiree and Theron will take you on some trips to fight off paranormal stuff. But let’s talk about the romance between them taking a turn too.

Brazeau – Review by Charlene Gonalez
This book is set two weeks after the first book and delves right into where the previous book ends, so I suggest reading that book first. You can technically read this as a stand alone but it would be better to read in order. I enjoyed the first book immensely so of course I immediately started reading the second book of the series.
This time the main character is Desiree, who is one of the women captured in the first book. After defeating the big bad in the first book, they are rescued by Greer and Theron and brought to what will be their new home.
Realizing that there are other vampires that survived, Theron and Desiree take it upon themselves to hunt them down. Desiree is taken by surprise by a feral vampire and rescued by another Vampire by the name of Jaxon.
Jaxon is not like the other vampires. He hates the hunt and hates feeding on innocent humans. He lets Theron and Desiree in on just that and joins them in the hunt for the others. A woman from Jaxon’s past shows up and puts a damper on their plans.
The three join together to fight while Desiree and Jaxon try to fight their inevitable feelings for each other.
So far I am loving this series and love all of the Casket Girls. They each have their own unique personality and I cannot wait for the next installment!

Let me first start off by saying that this book was just as amazing as I had hoped it would be. When I first saw the cover of this book I knew right away that I had to pick it up and devour it. This is the second novel in this series and I cannot even begin to express how good this series is. This story was dark, intense, full of paranormal romance and so much more. I personally can’t wait to see what this author and series gives us next.

After having read the first book in this series and falling in love with the characters I knew I just had to read this one as well. Boy was I right in picking up this book. It was amazing from cover to cover. The story builds nicely off the first book in the series and we meet a new potential couple, as long as the cards fall right.
From book one we know Greer, Theron’s love, is in the underworld and until her return Theron has been keeping busy hunting the other vampires in the city. Desiree, who was one of the casket girls, has trained hard to fight alongside him to eliminate the vampires from New Orleans. In walks Jaxon, one of these vampires, who wants to change. He wants Theron to teach him how to control the bloodlust and survive without draining innocents. As they work as a team to kill off the vampires Desiree and Jaxon start catching feelings towards each other. Can they have the same perfect love story that Greer and Theron have? What happens when someone from Jaxon’s past comes back to have him in her life? Can Jaxon and Desiree overcome the mistress to find their own peace?
This book was amazing if not even better than the first book in this series. I love all the new characters that are introduced and how the author weaves them brilliantly into the story. I love how it builds on the previous series while featuring a different couple’s story. If you haven’t read the first definitely do that and then your second item on your to do list should be to read this book too. If you love paranormal romances with some mystery and intrigue then this is the perfect read for you. Though I would avoid reading it late at night as this could cause you to lose valuable hours of sleep.

Brazeau – Review by Vanessa Watts
Desiree is one of the Casket Girls of New Orleans, or she was, now it is just a name and thanks to the discoveries made a few weeks previously when she was freed from a trap she knew nothing about, but now, she knows why and that is because of vampires and now she believes that they all must die in order for her to feel safe again. This is why she has been training so that she can become stronger and help those who cannot help themselves, she is not the type to just sit around and hope for the best, so she has convinced Theron to train her so that she can rid New Orleans of the last of the nest which fed off of them, Theron agrees to this and so while they wait for his true love to return from the Underworld, they make plans.
Jaxon is a vampire and was part of the nest associated with the Casket Girls, however, he never could stomach the idea of killing his Girl, or her husband, so he left to try and make some sort of life for himself, however, when he sees Theron and Desiree killing the rest of his nest, he sees a chance to redeem himself and asks to join them in their hunt. Neither Desiree nor Theron truly trust him, but they are willing to have his help, but when they find the rest of the nest, it isn’t only vampires that they find, a figure from Jaxon’s past is there as well, someone he knew only as the Mistress and it freezes him on the spot as the memories of his time with her assault him.
As soon as she disappears, Theron and Desiree demand to know what happened and so they go back to the mansion and Jaxon reveals what he can, this brings up feeling he thought had all but disappeared, including matters of the heart. Theron decides to find out more about the Mistress and in his quest for fact finding discovers that she is a witch and a powerful one at that, so he tries to find out a way to defeat her, in the meantime, Jaxon is having to fight his feelings for Desiree and the attraction he feels building, especially when Desiree herself says they have no future together because of his vampiric nature.
As the days pass and the plan to defeat the Mistress is being hatched, they all realise that her end game is Jaxon, she wants him back at all costs and will do anything to achieve this goal, but will Jaxon be able to hold his own against this formidable opponent and gain the freedom he so truly desires, or will he be denied the one thing which is changing him for the better? This is another fast paced fantasy where good and evil are pitted against each other in another battle for New Orleans where strong adversaries fight it out for supremacy and the right to love, where you are pulled along an action packed path with them.
