Desiree is hunting the remaining vampires with some help from Theron.
Jacob is a vampire that wants to find a way to hunt without killing.
I could not put this book down. The setting of New Orleans makes this all the more reason to read this. I’ve never been there but I am adding New Orleans on my places to visit list. I love reading books that make me want to travel.
The author did not disappoint. I hope we get novels in this series. The covers are so beautiful and alluring that it entices one pick it up.
I love supernatural elements and this novel has so much of it. Such an enticing novel.

I was so excited to get to read book 2 of The Casket Girls series and it did not disappoint. The story picks up right after the end of book 1, then expands on a few new characters and personalities.

Book 2 finds Desiree with a plan to help all of those residing in New Orleans and that included clearing out all of the vampires. All except for Jaxon and Theron, of course.

With Greer away, Theron has to learn to cope without her. He joins Jaxon and Desiree with the new adventure.

While the imagery and plot are dark, the romance and mystery livens up (and lights up) this book which is a great addition to the series.

The way the author goes into such detail when describing New Orleans helps transport you into another time.

If you are a fan of paranormal mysteries with a romantic twist, this is the book for you. I loved it!!

We are welcomed back into this second book of this series with our main woman Desiree. After the events of book one she had one thing in mind. And that was the vampires need to be dealt with. Dealt with in the way of getting rid of them.

But, the arrival of another player in power makes that a much harder task to accomplish. I finished this in one sitting and truly cannot wait to read more from this author!!!!!

This was the second book I have read by A.D. Brazeau and I’m loving each book. So, in this book Desiree is our main character who is helping Theron, the vampire, her friends BF, fight off other vampires throughout the city. Desiree is determined to fight and kill the other vamps but then she meets Jaxon. Jaxon who wants to change and not kill innocent people anymore wants to learn to control himself and be like Theron. You see where I’m going…. Will Desiree have the happy ending that Greer did and find someone to love and that loves her back? This series is a MUST READ! If I could give it more stars I would!

This book was just as compelling as the first one in the series! I started reading and didn’t want to stop. Desiree is such a strong-willed, yet compassionate person who has the courage to stand up and face the true monsters while understanding those who were forced into being. Jaxon is such an interesting character, and the two of them have so much in common yet so many differences too, making them perfect for each other. I adore the dynamic between Desiree, Fosette, Sylvie, and Theron – made families are so beautiful! Everything about the way this book was written was amazing and I can’t wait for the next one!

This is the 2nd book in the Casket Girls series. I love Desiree so much. She is so strong and determined to live her life on her own terms. Then Jaxon comes into their life. Desiree does not want any man much less a vampire. Can he change her mind? Will they be able to survive the latest threat to the peaceful existence they want to live?

Blood & Vengeance (The Casket Girls #2)Blood & Vengeance by A.D. Brazeau

The author did it again with this book. This story and the writing are incredible. The author took Desiree to a new level of story. Desiree really had her light shine with her determination really shined bright. Desiree showed that she was capable of leading and showed herself that she could do anything.
When I saw that the author made a second novel, especially about Desiree I was excited to know her side of the story and what she was up to in New Orleans.
If you like some adventure and mystery Desiree and Theron will take you on some trips to fight off paranormal stuff. But let’s talk about the romance between them taking a turn too.

This book is set two weeks after the first book and delves right into where the previous book ends, so I suggest reading that book first. You can technically read this as a stand alone but it would be better to read in order. I enjoyed the first book immensely so of course I immediately started reading the second book of the series.

This time the main character is Desiree, who is one of the women captured in the first book. After defeating the big bad in the first book, they are rescued by Greer and Theron and brought to what will be their new home.

Realizing that there are other vampires that survived, Theron and Desiree take it upon themselves to hunt them down. Desiree is taken by surprise by a feral vampire and rescued by another Vampire by the name of Jaxon.

Jaxon is not like the other vampires. He hates the hunt and hates feeding on innocent humans. He lets Theron and Desiree in on just that and joins them in the hunt for the others. A woman from Jaxon’s past shows up and puts a damper on their plans.

The three join together to fight while Desiree and Jaxon try to fight their inevitable feelings for each other.

So far I am loving this series and love all of the Casket Girls. They each have their own unique personality and I cannot wait for the next installment!

Let me first start off by saying that this book was just as amazing as I had hoped it would be. When I first saw the cover of this book I knew right away that I had to pick it up and devour it. This is the second novel in this series and I cannot even begin to express how good this series is. This story was dark, intense, full of paranormal romance and so much more. I personally can’t wait to see what this author and series gives us next.

Blood & Vengeance (The Casket Girls #2)Blood & Vengeance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After having read the first book in this series and falling in love with the characters I knew I just had to read this one as well. Boy was I right in picking up this book. It was amazing from cover to cover. The story builds nicely off the first book in the series and we meet a new potential couple, as long as the cards fall right.

From book one we know Greer, Theron’s love, is in the underworld and until her return Theron has been keeping busy hunting the other vampires in the city. Desiree, who was one of the casket girls, has trained hard to fight alongside him to eliminate the vampires from New Orleans. In walks Jaxon, one of these vampires, who wants to change. He wants Theron to teach him how to control the bloodlust and survive without draining innocents. As they work as a team to kill off the vampires Desiree and Jaxon start catching feelings towards each other. Can they have the same perfect love story that Greer and Theron have? What happens when someone from Jaxon’s past comes back to have him in her life? Can Jaxon and Desiree overcome the mistress to find their own peace?

This book was amazing if not even better than the first book in this series. I love all the new characters that are introduced and how the author weaves them brilliantly into the story. I love how it builds on the previous series while featuring a different couple’s story. If you haven’t read the first definitely do that and then your second item on your to do list should be to read this book too. If you love paranormal romances with some mystery and intrigue then this is the perfect read for you. Though I would avoid reading it late at night as this could cause you to lose valuable hours of sleep.

Blood & Vengeance (The Casket Girls #2)Blood & Vengeance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Desiree is one of the Casket Girls of New Orleans, or she was, now it is just a name and thanks to the discoveries made a few weeks previously when she was freed from a trap she knew nothing about, but now, she knows why and that is because of vampires and now she believes that they all must die in order for her to feel safe again. This is why she has been training so that she can become stronger and help those who cannot help themselves, she is not the type to just sit around and hope for the best, so she has convinced Theron to train her so that she can rid New Orleans of the last of the nest which fed off of them, Theron agrees to this and so while they wait for his true love to return from the Underworld, they make plans.

Jaxon is a vampire and was part of the nest associated with the Casket Girls, however, he never could stomach the idea of killing his Girl, or her husband, so he left to try and make some sort of life for himself, however, when he sees Theron and Desiree killing the rest of his nest, he sees a chance to redeem himself and asks to join them in their hunt. Neither Desiree nor Theron truly trust him, but they are willing to have his help, but when they find the rest of the nest, it isn’t only vampires that they find, a figure from Jaxon’s past is there as well, someone he knew only as the Mistress and it freezes him on the spot as the memories of his time with her assault him.

As soon as she disappears, Theron and Desiree demand to know what happened and so they go back to the mansion and Jaxon reveals what he can, this brings up feeling he thought had all but disappeared, including matters of the heart. Theron decides to find out more about the Mistress and in his quest for fact finding discovers that she is a witch and a powerful one at that, so he tries to find out a way to defeat her, in the meantime, Jaxon is having to fight his feelings for Desiree and the attraction he feels building, especially when Desiree herself says they have no future together because of his vampiric nature.

As the days pass and the plan to defeat the Mistress is being hatched, they all realise that her end game is Jaxon, she wants him back at all costs and will do anything to achieve this goal, but will Jaxon be able to hold his own against this formidable opponent and gain the freedom he so truly desires, or will he be denied the one thing which is changing him for the better? This is another fast paced fantasy where good and evil are pitted against each other in another battle for New Orleans where strong adversaries fight it out for supremacy and the right to love, where you are pulled along an action packed path with them.

Blood & Ravens (The Casket Girls Series Book 1) by A.D. Brazeau – Review by Santana Hicks

Blood & Ravens (The Casket Girls, #1)Blood & Ravens by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was intriguing from the very beginning. Greer, one of the main characters, is taken forcefully from her home and wakes up on a boat half starved and dirty. The only thing she remembers is a dream of a handsome man who is in the dark not fully seen.

Once docked, Greer finds out that she is a part of a group of women sent to a convent to live their days before an arranged man comes to take them away for marriage. Most women are there willingly. During the night, Greer has another dream about the man she deemed her “Dark Knight”. Coincidentally, another woman had a similar dream with a man visiting her whilst she slept as well.

Suspicion sets in and Greer tries to wake up when she feels the man’s presence once more. Sure enough, he is real. As well as countless other men visiting the other women’s cots. The women who have been having nightly visitors are starting to get sick. Greer finds out that these men are vampires and they have been feeding off of the women making them weaker.

Theron, the man Greer deemed as her Dark Knight, is actually a demon cast out by Hades to live his remaining life as one of the soulless vampires. He was once ruthless and had no remorse. After meeting Greer, all that seemed to change. He is attracted to her somehow which he doesn’t understand. Theron lets Greer into the light of the supernatural beings around her. Theron knows that they cannot be but that doesn’t stop them from trying.

I really enjoyed the book. Greer is a headstrong woman who took her life into her own hands regardless out the outcome.

This is the 2nd book in the Casket Girls series by A.D. Brazeau. I definitely recommend reading the series in order to get the most out of all this author has to offer! Brazeau does it again with this wonderfully crafted tale of Greer, who finds herself in the Underworld; Thoren, who finds himself in New Orleans fighting bloodthirsty vampires; Desiree, who finds herself fighting alongside Thoren; and Jaxon, who finds himself fighting the urge to feed on the innocent. I absolutely love the way Brazeau weaves her characters together and she does this spectacularly well in Blood and Vengeance. I also love the way the authors moves her plot along and the twists and turns she throws in along the way.
I also have to give a huge shout out to the person who designed the cover! I am in LOVE with the cover design! It drew me in just like the first one!
I cannot wait for this series to continue! Definitely a series I recommend!

Blood & Vengeance was a very quick, enjoyable read. When Desiree finds herself in the hands of a vampire wanting redemption, it’s up to her to convince her friend/demon and fellow vampire hunter Theron of his Innocence. In doing so, they find themselves in the cross hairs of an angry witch with one thing on her mind. Capturing this vampire. They must come up with a way to defeat her and ensure that they can live another day. While this is part 2 in The Casket Girl series, it can be read as a standalone.

Blood & Vengeance: A dark, paranormal romance (The Casket Girls #2) by A.D. Brazeau

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Blood and Vengeance is the second book in The Casket Girls Series. This story follows Desiree and finding her mate. You will enjoy this book if you’ve read the first one.

Desiree is one of the girls we met in book one. She got away from the demon that was assigned to her. She travels along with a friend’s mate as they hunt down vampires. Then she meets Jaxon and finds out that maybe all vampires aren’t bad. The quote I chose for Desiree is: “Maybe his aim is solely to survive. Why does it need to be more complicated than that? Not everyone is Rook, and not everyone is Sister Francis.”

Jaxon is a vampire who wants to learn a different way to hunt. He knows Theron knows of one, but he isn’t sure how to approach him. When he sees that Desiree is in danger he protects her and keeps her safe. He then presents his story to Desiree and hopes she can talk to Theron. The quote I chose for Jaxon is: “No, Desiree. There is no one here but me. Like Theron, I too am hunting down the remaining vampires. The one who attacked you, the one Rook assigned to you, he caught wind of you in the cemetery last night. I followed him back to your home, climbed the outside wall, and saved you just as you were about to succumb. I’m fairly sure he meant to knock you out, then take you back to his hidey-hole as a midnight snack.”

Highly recommended for Vampire Romance lovers.

While Greer is dealing with things in the underworld, this story focuses on Desiree and Theron. These two are dealing with the vampires still in New Orleans. A new vampire comes along to help, Jaxon. He wants to help rid them of all the bad vampires and learn how to survive without killing. Jaxon also has a witch, called the Mistress, that wants him back no matter the cost. I’m ready to see how this continues.

Though I’ve read fictional works about the Cassquette Girls before, this is definitely up there as one of my favorite interpretations of their tales. At first, I wasn’t all that sure of what to expect and was pleasantly surprised to discover there was more to this short story than I had originally guessed. I loved reading and learning about Greek mythology growing up, so it was nice to see a little of that playing in this book. I enjoyed how, though the story itself is short, everything came together at a good pace and held my attention from cover to cover. I’m looking forward to reading the second book in the series now!

Second book of the Casket Girls, this story focuses on the events following the first book that introduced the circumstances leading the girls from their lives in France to the current ones in New Orleans. In this story, we’re taken through Desiree’s part. Desiree and Theron work together to track and hunt the remaining vampires that fed on the girls in the first book. Of course, then Jaxon, one of the vampires, and things become even more intriguing. It was fascinating to read and see the development of the characters from the first book to this second one, as well as the introduction of the new ones. I loved how, though each of the books have focused on different couples, the storyline remains strong and is wonderfully shown from book to book!

Blood & Vengence is the second book in The Casket Girls series. This installment finds Desiree and Theron hunting the rest of the vampires in New Orleans when she meets a vampire named Jaxon that wants to learn from Theron how to survive without killing. In the process, he falls for Desiree and must find a way to protect her from his past. At first, I was disappointed that this book would not follow Greer and Theron. Although I liked the other girls, I really wasn’t keen on reading about them as the main characters. However, I ended up really enjoying the sibling dynamic between Theron and Desiree. I would have to see more Greer but hopefully, we will see more of her at a later date. This book is as well-written and adventurous as the first. I liked the addition of Jaxon. I liked the dynamic between him and Desiree. This book made me feel all the emotions. I immensely enjoyed reading this book.

Blood & Vengeance (The Casket Girls #2)Blood & Vengeance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood & Vengeance is the second book in the Casket Girls series. It’s a great series – vampire-hunting paranormal romance set in 18th Century New Orleans. I love the setting – a lot of attention has been paid to historical detail making for a vibrant and interesting world to explore.
It’s definitely worth reading this series in order. Although from a romance perspective each story focuses on a different couple, the paranormal plot that runs through is developed from book to book. The background of Blood & Ravens will really help readers appreciate Blood & Vengeance.
With Greer off in the Underworld, the focus in this book shifts to Desiree. She’s determined to eliminate the remaining vampires that were preying on her and her companions. This determination is heightened when she learns that the vampire that was assigned to her – who got a taste for her blood – may still be out there. Desiree is a good foil to the pining Theron, and steps up to the mark to advocate for Jaxon as he proves his willingness to change. It’s good to see characters who were previously in a fairly powerless position gain agency and learn to stand up for themselves.
This is another five-star book, and I’m excited to see that the series will continue! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the previous one, and would recommend the previous one to all fans of paranormal romance and anyone with an interest in New Orleans’ history.

Part 2 of the Casket Girls was as good and if not better than the first book. Desiree and Theron are trying to take out the remaining vampires that escaped in book one. Desiree hates vampires and will not stay on the side lines. She ends up in the presence of Jaxon and although she is trying to hate him she finds she just can not. There is a pull between the two. Will Desiree have a change of heart and fall for Jaxon? Will Jaxon succumb to his old Mistress in order to keep her safe? Read this amazing part 2 to find out all the details. To be honest I was a little sad that this wasn’t centered around Geer and Theron, but it was nice to see it from Desiree’s perspective and how she felt with all of the events that happened. In walks Jaxon who turns her world upside down. The two bicker and fight like siblings it was a breath of fresh air. Poor Theron has his hands full with Desiree, and the situations she gets into is funny and scary at the same time. The brief view we see from Geer made my heart hurt and want more information, but I know she will be okay. With witches, vampires and demons oh my! Throw in a little romance and you have a wonderful story. It was written wonderfully with no hiccups. I can’t wait to see what book 3 brings, and I hope i get some answers!

When I saw this book, I was excited to pick it up and dive right into it! This second novel in the Casket Girl Series envelopes you into the world that the author built. The moment I opened the novel it came to my first stopping point-which I wouldn’t have stopped had my daughter not woken up from her nap- and I was halfway through the story! I’m elated that the novel is continuing the story from Desire’s point of view and how she has handled everything since she came to New Orleans. The only thing I was saddened to see was a tidbit from Greer’s situation, otherwise, it was a great novel! Desire out of all the Casket Girls was the relatable one for me, and someone who is honest even though it hurts is someone I want in my corner! We follow her and Theron’s journey in tracking down the remaining vampires in New Orleans, which gave me serious Buffy vibes, who had done her and her friends wrong! Her relationship with Theron is definitely not something I saw coming but thoroughly enjoyed watching unfold. Dark and mysterious Jaxon enters the scene and definitely makes it harder for everyone to concentrate, especially our favorite redhead! I suggest you read it to find out the ending and enjoy this paranormal journey for yourself!

Blood & Vengeance is the second book in ‘The Casket Girls’ series by A.D. Brazeau. I loved the first book, and this one is even better again as Ms. Brazeau intensifies things even more.
Again, this fantastic story is wrapped in a gorgeous cover that certainly catches the eye. This paranormal delight is set in New Orleans, 1728- which gives the whole story a wonderfully atmospheric feel, infusing the story with rich textures and its own unique identity.
This story continues on from the events in Book #1. After what she went through there, Desiree is on a quest to eradicate the remaining nest of vampires. But things aren’t quite that easy as a powerful witch enters the scene with an agenda of her own. What happens makes for a really engrossing read.
If you love paranormal romance with vampires, mysteriousness, demons, curses, danger, witches, history, mythology, tension, magic, and dramatic developments- then you will certainly want to get your hands on this book/series and dive in asap.
Couldn’t and wouldn’t put it down till I’d read every word…. Now I need the next instalment, “Blood & Magic’, STAT!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, A.D. Brazeau!
