Romantic suspense A detective story with suspense, intriguing storyline and lots of heartfelt interaction. I enjoyed this story and the characters. The writing is really easy to read and I devoured the pages. There are many layers to the story and I was never left wanting. I will definitely be checking out more from this author.

Read this one! What a great, fast-paced story! I loved Jessica and Seth’s story. Partners with a palpable attraction, but each not knowing they like one another. Their developing relationship and romance draws the reader in and adds an element depth to the story, enhancing the suspenseful and thrilling pieces of the story. The author weaves the suspense in throughout the story and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. I was turning the pages and read this in just a couple of sittings (and maybe lost some sleep) because I couldn’t put it down. The overall development of the characters and story culminated in an amazing read. I can’t wait to read another by this author!

Very well written, The Detail, is the first book I have read by this author. Full of action and some suspense. This book will have you on the edge of your seat in some points. The Male and Female main characters are partners as law enforcement officers, and they are attracted to each other yet the other has no clue how they feel. The fact that it is mutual, and they haven’t shared this with each other yet is the first in a long progression of suspenseful moments in this story. The storyline has substance, and the characters are well developed and very interesting. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Romantic suspense at its best! I was hooked from page one and couldn’t put it down. Jessica and Seth go on a road trip to transfer a killer back to Texas for his trial. The sexual tension between the two runs high and their banter is great! As you can imagine, their trip doesn’t go as planned. You are in for a ride with this one. Definitely recommend! It was a quick read, but so good!

Very fast summer read. Perfect amounts romantic tension and suspenseful tension.
Foster and Hamilton spent months hunting down and bringing in the inmate they’re currently transferring. This inmate has awful plans for Detective Foster. In the midst of all of this, the partnered detectives are struggling to maintain professional distance instead of giving into their attraction for one another. In the middle of their transfer, everything goes wrong fast. How will it all turn out? This is such a page turner, it won’t take you long to find out. Excellent read!

I enjoyed reading this suspenseful story. This is a new author for me. I enjoyed their writing skills from beginning to end. This is a well written story about a killer who is determined for revenge and there is only one way to get that which is to kill. The twists and turns had me sitting on the edge of my seat and turning pages fast. A story not only I don’t want to miss but also just hard to put down. A fast paced story that is full of action and even some romance. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their story. There is fast growth and great growth with the characters. This is an easy story to read as the characters are relatable and make you feel as if you are right there with them. A great story that I highly recommend.

Jessica and Seth are both attracted to each other but fear doing anything because they are work partners. I loved the chemistry between which brought awkward facts on their ride to pick up a sociopath in Denver. Watching this play out was a little painful and a delight. Jessica’s family is a little dysfunctional and they use that against her.She worries about whether or not she is worthy of a relationship. Seth wants to show her she is. He wants to take care of her. Can these two figure this out? Can she let him in? Add the drama of the sociopath escaping and trying to get her. This was a new author to me and I’m now a new fan. The writing is superb. I was on the edge of my seat through this action. She left me feeling like I was in the middle of the drama. Jack is one sick puppy. The characters were very well-written. You could feel the emotions, the personalities and just every little quirk about them. The plot with its twists flowed so smooth. It made for a wonderful romantic suspense. Definitely an author I would recommend.

This is a fantastic suspenseful and romantic story that had me gripped right from the start. The story is the perfect amount of romance and thrilling intrigued to keep both genres interested. The characters are completely relatable. The have a depth to them that you sort always find in suspense books and I was behind them the whole way. As a new author to me I wasn’t sure what to expect but after this book I am definitely a fan. I loved the writing style and the overall pace of the book. She knew exactly how to engage her readers and keep them hooked from beginning to end. I can’t wait to discover more of her work in the future.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the mix of crime and romance. The twists and turns made this a very gripping story. The author does an amazing job with the characters and with their background it gives them real depth. I loved how both Jess and Seth have feelings for each other but neither feels brave enough to tell the other how they feel. Their chemistry is great and the way they interact with each other in a fun teasing way makes their feelings clear to everyone but them.
Jess and Seth have been on a manhunt for a serial killer. Now they have their man they need to travel to collect him and bring him to face trial. With the times it’s going to take to get their and back Seth sees this as a chance to break down the walls and get to know Jess better. However with a serial killer in their car and a journey back full of problems things won’t be smooth.
With the serial killer in question out for vengence and his target being none other than Jess, both Seth and Jess struggling with their feelings and dealing with Jess ‘s family this is one story where you will not know what’s going to happen unless you read it. Will Jess and Seth confess their feelings? Now that the serial killer has Jess in his sight will he be able to get his revenge? Will the confusing feelings between the partners make their job harder and cloud their judgement of their job?

The Detail by Dana Wayne. This is a new to me author so I wasn’t sure what to expect but I loved it. Its my favorite genre so I had high hopes and I was not disappointed. Its the story Detective Jessica Foster and Detective Seth Hamilton who are partners. They are traveling from Dallas to Denver to retrieve an inmate and bring him back to Dallas. The problem being Jessica is crushing so hard on Seth and knows that she can’t mess up their work relationship. Seth feels the same way and thinks that Jessica has feelings for him and he plans on using this trip to get to the bottom of it. The trip ends up being way more eventful when the inmate has it out for Jessica. He plans to kill her and he escapes from them during the ride back home. He is determined to find Jessica and make her his prize. This book kept me turning pages late in the night and I can’t wait to read more by this author!

The Detail by Dana Wayne was a surprising find, in a great way. She might have been a new-to-me author, but now that I have a taste for her stories, that is something I plan to remedy immediately. Ms. Wayne weaves a brilliant romantic suspense here, with all the ingredients that I look for in an engrossing story. Detective Jessica Foster has been on a manhunt for a serial killer that has had her tied up in knots for far too long. When he is finally captured, she and her partner end up on cross-country journey to bring him back home so justice can be served. But things don’t quite go according to plan. With a deranged killer hell bent on revenge, secret feelings for her partner, family problems, and several crafty twists add to the intensity. Let the cat and mouse games begin! I can’t wait to explore Dana Wayne’s other books… Happy Reading!

He knows …. She knows … I know but they don’t know , does that makes sense 😂
I was enjoying the banter between Jessica and Seth , their awkward flirts and their dynamics as a working couple and then BOOM action hits , it was like a punch to my gut and I felt winded !!!
Jack is a really bad bad man with a very dark heart and he has such a grudge against Jessica you can actually feel the hatred he has for her and my skin crawls whenever he’s near and he deserves the death penalty but he’s a slippery one …
This was an absolute adrenaline rush for me it had me on the edge of my seat , it had romance , it had steam and it had me scared !

I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into when I picked this book but I think I found myself a new favorite author. This was the perfect combination of suspense and romance. Detectives Foster and Hamilton are sent to retrieve an inmate and bring him back to Dallas to face justice. They had spent many months hunting the man down and he was hauled in for something minor. The inmate has plans for Ms. Foster and none of them pertain to having a nice chat over coffee. In the meantime these two detectives are fighting to maintain a professional relationship instead of giving in to the sexual tension that runs between them. After picking up their ward they are heading back to base when things take a wrong turn. The killer gets away and he is hell bent on getting his prize, Detective Foster. How will things play out between the detectives? Is there a happily ever after in their future or will she become the victim of a sadistic man?

I will definitely be adding this book to my re-read list!

This intense quick read follows the intense tension between both love and crime. Full of suspense, action, personal moments between Jess and Seth, and so much more I just simply couldn’t put this book down. What happens when Jessica and her partner travel to pick up a fugitive? Will the fugitive get away? Will Jessica be able to put her feelings and attraction for Seth to the side? Or will her attraction to her partner get in the way? One way or another you’ll have to read this amazing gripping page turner for yourself to find out.

The Detail is the perfect amount of suspense and romance, not only does Dana captivate you with this suspenseful thriller she also gives sexual tension. This book is a quick read but definitely a page turner.
Jessica is trying everything she can to track down this killer, with the help of her very attractive partner Seth. Right when they were going to confront their attraction for each other Jessica goes missing as well as Seth’s prisoner “the killer”.
I really liked this mixture of the two book genres coming together, more often than not romance and suspense thriller don’t collide like this and I enjoyed it.

The Detail is a delightful tension filled quick page turner! Dana has cleverly woven threads to give the reader a complex and drama filled thriller. The intrigue, fear and suspense are palpable. The story is well-written and the plot is clear-cut. The story is a little predictable but I was thoroughly engrossed and invested in it.
The characters have substance are believable you will fall in love with them, well most of them. It is so easy to get caught up in this story to the point of not hearing your husband when he is talking to you. Oops.
Detective Jessica Foster is hunting a ruthless killer and will stop at nothing to get them but it may just get her in a whole lot of trouble if not worse, killed…….
Detective Seth Hamilton has lost his prisoner a ruthless killer hellbent on revenge for his partner who is missing. Things turn deadly and he fears but he hopes against hope he will see her again.
Dana Wayne is a new author to me, and I really enjoyed her writing so I will definitely be reading more of her work.

Detective Jessica Foster is worn out. She’s spent months hunting a crazed killer while juggling a case load that never ends, her unpredictable family and forbidden feelings for her partner, Seth Hamilton. When the suspect she sought is finally captured near Denver, she and Seth must bring him back to Texas for trial. She dreads the long drive because it means close proximity to the man who haunts her dreams and makes her long for things she can never have.
Seth has known for some time that Jess is the one for him. Instinct tells him the feelings are mutual, but she never lets her guard down. Undeterred, he vows to use the prolonged road trip to get beyond those barriers and uncover the truth.
Until a disastrous turn of events changes everything.
Now a ruthless killer bent on revenge targets Jess, and his thirst for vengeance will only be satisfied by her death.
Multi-awarding winning author Dana Wayne is a sixth-generation Texan and still resides in the Piney Woods. A sought-after speaker and die-hard romantic, her stories are filled with strong women, second chances, and happily ever after.
“I’ve had a love affair with words my whole life and from an early age, aspired to write. That dream became a reality with the release of my first book in the summer of 2016. I was over the moon when it received first place in a state-wide contest, and I never looked back.
“I’m all about the romance; that excursion two people take from ‘I’ll never love again’ to ‘Happily Ever After’. My stories are very character-driven versus plot-driven and typically include a splash of humor and suspense. While they are a bit steamy at times, I believe true romance is about emotion, not sex, and the journey is more important than the destination. “
