This book made me ugly cry. Not just the lone tear that I normally shed but actually sobs. The emotion bleeds off the pages and I was drawn straight into the world. I love the writing, so easy to connect with and raw. This book takes off right where book 1 ended and it didn’t take me long to be swept away into Cam’s life. This was not an easy ride and every blow felt so real. The creation of the world, the character development and the whole concept just comes together flawlessly. Can’t wait to launch into book 3.

I am so enjoying this series, and the 2nd book does not disappoint. I love YA Dystopia books and this is no different. As Cam continues his journey and he finally settles down in Lewis. His character really grows in this 2nd installment of this series for sure. Going from the past to the present, would you truly start over? There are questions no doubt as would I, would I start over? This book is just full of emotion for me and hard to put down.

In the second installment of the Antipodes series, we find Cam back with Lae and settling in to his life as a husband and father. But when word comes that there may be more settlements and that someone he loves may still be alive, Cam sets off on a journey to find closure. But what will he discover and can he return to his wife and son, Mack?
This series is one of my favorites I have read lately. I love the characters and their development throughout the books. This one had moments that made me angry, made me laugh, and made me cry. Cam, Lae, Mack, Di feel like family to the reader. The settings are wonderfully described, from inside the lush domes to the outside world, where everything is dead, bleak, and brown. I can’t wait to read the third book!!

I just finished book 2, and all I can say is wow! What an emotional roller coaster! TS Simons has done it again. I had a hard time putting it down. This story is so well-written and the characters are very relatable. I felt like I was feeling Cam’s emotions with him. Cam grows a lot through this book and learns more about himself and the world around him. I have truly enjoyed this series so far and cannot wait to read the third book!

Simons – Review by Elizabeth Rosenberg
After making three journeys through the antipodal portals, Cam is ready to settle down in Lucas. He’s learned more about the antipodal portals, but there’s still much to learn. He returns to the community in Lewis hoping that he is not too late for a second chance at love. After leaving Laetitia to close the door on his relationship with Freya, Cam is ready for a new beginning.
Cam also learns that his older sister Sorcha was sent to an inland community in Australia or in Tasmania. The trouble is there are five communities. Does he go to see if she’s alive? Or does he stay in Lewis where he’s found his forever home?
T.S. Simons wrote an excellent series with Antipodes. I really love the characters. You learn so much about overcoming obstacles either physical or personal. This second book takes the first book to a much higher level. What an outstanding read!!

The Liminal Space, the second in the Antipodes series, was a fantastic adventure of a novel. Cam has found love, family, and happiness on Lewis. Returning to his Scottish roots, he finds an amazing community of like-minded souls who embrace him into their world. When Freyja returns, he finds out the truth about what happened to his wife, and learns about the forces that were at play to trick him. When he discovers that there is a chance a loved one is still alive in another domed community, he is compelled to set out on a journey again in the hopes of finding them.
I thought this was a good follow-up to Antipodes, though I found the character of Laetitia a bit boring. She didn’t come to life for me as much as Freyja did in the first book. I did enjoy reading a bit of her backstory, and seeing how she grew up. All in all, I enjoyed this book and look forward to the 3rd installment.

Simons – Review by Erica Shoebridge
So, it took me quite a while to realise that this was the second book in the series, but I should have known really because all the things I found jarring and baffling about it were because of this. Right from the start, I was struck by how I already felt as though I were mid-way through a book, stuff felt like it had been going on for a long time and I had just missed it all. Obviously though, this in no way reflects on the writing, Simon’s does an awesome job and has created an interesting dystopian world that is both vibrant and intelligent. There is something very human to the way Simons writes, past all the airy-fairy crap and straight to the meatiness of what it means to be human. Cam is an interesting character, living in a sustainable community with his friend Fraser and though life seems idyllic, he is haunted by those that he loves, and a world left behind, the way it used to look and used to be. There is something beautifully melancholic about Simon’s writes Cam, and I found it addictive to read. Simons has a sophisticated tone to her writing, steaming ahead with the confidence of someone that knows their reader will be right there with them. I loved the world she created. It felt both ancient and modern all at the same time, something I didn’t think was even remotely possible, but Simon’s managed to do it effortlessly. I quite liked the idea of the world and the feel of it, even though I was lost, Simons writes wonderfully and makes even fumbling a bit in the dark a fun and enjoyable experience. I know that when I have finally gotten round to reading the first book in this series I will love this book in a whole new way and see it in a whole new light. I would definitely recommend reading this along with the other books in the series as I think Simon’s has done an epic job here and even though I didn’t know quite what was happening, I still loved the journey I was being taken on. Excuse me while I go and read the first in the series and fall in love with that one too.

This is the second book in the Antipodes Series and it was just as intriguing as the first book. The characters are well developed and the book is easy to read. The story keeps you hooked all the way through as you follow the journey of the characters as they adapt to their new way of life.
Cam has matured in this book and after hearing that someone he loves could still be alive he sets out to find them. The journey is challenging and makes him question things he knows and thinks about love and loyalty. The main question is if given the opportunity to redo life would you take the same course with the same mistakes or would you change your plans maybe for the better or maybe for the worst.
It’s a really thought provoking theme and set in time when the world is destroyed by a disease and only few people surviving its an interesting concept.

Cam Mackintosh is back in the second installment of the Antipodes series and he is happily living on Lewis with his family and adapting to the changes within it, he still hasn’t fully recovered from the experiences of going through the tunnels and how his body felt while he did, but he tries not to think about it if he can, but he is more scared by the upcoming change in his life, but as he is listening to his friends advice about the situation, he definitely still feels unprepared. He finds that he reminisces about his family before the virus more as he thinks about them all and what examples he can take from it, as well as thinking about how different his wife’s upbringing was and how that will be useful in the future as well. He is also remembering his last lot of travels to Ireland and the people he spoke to there, especially what he learned from one person in particular about the portals and how they work, as well as who may have created them, it was an in depth conversation, but he now he knows more information, he was able to share it with his community on Lewis when he returned. When he returned last time he also realised that this is where he was meant to be and where his home was, including the woman who was waiting for him there.
As life continued on in the community, Cam is the happiest he has been in a long time and although he has had a lot of work to catch up on in the greenhouses and the orchards, he has been the most settled he had been in a long time too, that is until he bumps into someone and a whole flux of memories come flooding back, he escapes to his spot in the hills to think about what he has just found out and ends up confronting old feelings and learning things that he has wanted to know for over a year, this will hopefully bring some closure to the past, but instead it opens up a whole new can of worms. As a community meeting is called, some more surprising information is announced by a group from another community who have returned from their travels and he learns that there were other communities established in Australia which has less strict requirements and as such that there is a possibility that other people may have survived in other domes, but when a list of people is produced and a certain name jumps out at him, he knows that he has to take another trip through the portal and take a chance to see if this person is still alive, but this means leaving his family and he is not sure if he can do that, however, he is encouraged to go.
As a small group prepares to set off on this new adventure, will they find what they are looking for and discover whether the rumours of other domed communities are true, or will the time Cam spends away from his family be its undoing? In this dystopian adventure, you go on an emotional journey across the world to uncover secrets which could change the groups world view and experience everything with them, prepare for a journey through a bleak world to see whether there are any lights at the end of the tunnel.

The Liminal Space by T.S. Simons is the second book in the Antipodes Series. I would recommend reading the first book before reading the second one. Some books are what I call fluff reads. This one is definitely not a fluff read. It is thought provoking, touching on several worldly problems within an apocalyptic world. The main character in this story is Cam, Campbell Mackintosh. He is easy to identify with and to understand his emotions and dilemmas. Ultimately this book is a story about love and overcoming, told within the life of Cam.

The Liminal Space is the second book in the Antipodes books. T.S. Simons is a mastermind. His writing style is thought-provoking. In this book, he asks if you could go back and do things over, would you? Would you make the same mistakes or will you make different mistakes? In this book, we are following Cam. He has new information about his family. This story does make you think about your life and those in your life. I highly recommend this book to see how Cam reacts to his news.

I love a good story. The Liminal Space (Antipodes Book 2) by T.S. Simons is that. A terrific story. What could be better than surviving an apocalypse and living under a dome. It’s just a good second book in this series. Aside from that, I love how Cam is always reflecting on the then and now. His reflections on what is really important. The stark reality that now is what we have. Although this book is the second in this series it is a good stand-alone story. But reading the first book will enhance your experience with this book. A very enjoyable read.

This second book to Antipodes did not disappoint! T.S. Simmons sure knows how to write. This story goes back to Cam and what all he has continued to go through. Finding out some surprising news and having to make a possible life changing decision will keep you reading. I love dystopian books and Simmons definitely knows how to write them! I cannot wait to read more from Simmons!

The Liminal Space is the second book in T.S. Simons’ exciting Antipodes series. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, with survivors connected by Stargate-esque portals, this series has me totally hooked! One of the things I particularly like about the series is the opportunity to travel to different parts of the world, which makes it a great lockdown read (if you can cope with the “disease wiping out most of life on Earth” plot at the moment). In this sequel, Cam has grown and learnt a lot. He is confident in what he has to offer to his community, and is learning to let go of things outside of his control. All of the characters are adapting to the new way of life, but also missing aspects of their old lives and wondering if things ever could go back to normal. This series is very much a series for today’s world. As well as themes that relate to our experiences with COVID-19, there is a huge focus on environmental issues and our responsibilities towards the planet. It is a thought-provoking book that I would recommend to young adult readers. It gets five stars from me!

The Liminal Space is the second book in the Antipodes series by T.S Simons. It is a YA, post-apocalyptic, dystopian story; with some science fiction elements, drama, and tension. All in all, an intriguing and thought-provoking read. Having read the first book, I was curious to see what would happen in this book- so grabbed a copy and dove in. Again, as with he first book, there is quite a lot going on, but I seemed to ‘settle’ into this story easier than the first book- which made for a more enjoyable read. That’s not to say that I didn’t have a few issues with the story/developments- but thankfully they didn’t detract too much from my overall enjoyment of the story.

The Liminal Space by T. S. Simons is the second book in the Antiodes series. I highly recommend you read the first book, you will be glad you took the time. I enjoyed learning how Cam thought about life and how important family is. This post apocalyptic book really makes you consider if your life would be different if you were able to start over. Would your life really change or would you make similar mistakes you made in your current life? I’m not sure I could answer that but it sure makes you wonder. I really enjoyed this book, I’d say even more than the first.

It really helps to draw you into the story even more. Even after reading this book I’m really not sure what I would do if I had the chance to do things over. The Liminal Space (Antipodes #2) by T.S. Simons is a YA, Dystopian post-apocalyptic, story. But it is anything but your typical dystopian tale. This uniquely unpredictable story will hold you on an emotional journey. The story makes you think, if this happened what would I do in the same circumstances? What am I willing to risk? Would I have done it differently?

I loved reading the book The Liminal Space (Antipodes Book 2) by T.S. Simons. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. The author does an amazing job of making the storyline and the characters come alive. The book is well-written, and I found myself turning pages to find out what happens next. The story will make you wonder what you would do in the same situation. This is a book that I got lost in and seemed to be over too soon. I enjoyed reading about the characters and the interactions between them. This is a story that is interesting, intriguing, exciting, and entertaining. Don’t miss out on reading it. The Liminal Space is the second book in the Antipodes Series by T.S. Simons and I absolutely loved it. I would recommend reading the first book in this series if you haven’t already, you’ll have a better understanding of what is going on. It definitely makes you ask yourself if you could start over would you? My answer would be heck no I’ve worked to hard to get where I am. I’ve learned from past mistakes and pushed myself right on past. This is a story about Cam and the journey he goes on as he finds out what family means. It really makes you think about If you were given a chance to start over would you do it and make different choices? I highly recommend reading this book. I truly enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading more from this Author.

This is the second book in the Antipodes series. This is a young adult/dystopian novel and comes in at just over 400 pages. This story follows Cam as he heads out on a journey and discovers what family really means. I loved that the book is focused on “if we had the opportunity to start over, would we?” And “is our society destined to make the same mistakes?” This book really makes you think about what it would be like to start over and if given the chance, would you make the same choices.

This is the second book in this series, I enjoyed it just as much as the first. This is a well developed book that will make you question whether or not you would do things over. If we did do things over would we make the same mistakes as the first time? For me I don’t think I would as I would not have the things I do now if I didn’t make mistakes. I enjoyed how easy this book was to read and understandable. I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. If you are given a second chance, what would you do?

Content in his new life on Lewis, Cam learns that someone he loves may still be alive. Compelled to embark on a monumental journey, he discovers the true value of family and loyalty in a bleak and challenging world.
Relationships are tested, loyalties challenged in The Liminal Space, the second novel in the Antipodes series. This series asks, “If we had the opportunity to start over, would we? Or is our society destined to make the same mistakes?”
T.S. Simons is an Australian author of Scottish heritage. Living in the alpine region of Australia, she believes in the values of sustainability and community in a world where we place greater value on possessions than people. The Antipodes series addresses the question—if we gave young people the opportunity to start over, would we replicate the mistakes of the past?
Her desire to assist others saw her working in international development before realising that her passion lay in education. She holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree from Monash University and enjoys travelling, mythology, snow skiing, while attempting to live as sustainably as possible.
