Be still my beating heart 💓

Cadence is bored more than stuck I’d say , she’s dating a guy with whom she’s trying to make things work with and it seems more work that it’s worth it , her career isn’t satisfying her and she’s stick I n a bad place , what she needs is a lift me upper and who better than her sister to do that with so when they go and see a rock band 🎸 I get excited and she’s not ready for what’s about to come….

Cadence meet Damien , lead singer of the band and there’s sparks and yes they try and fight it but the heart wants what the heart wants 🥰 and while Cadence has to heal and find herself , I’ve been there so I get it , I felt Damien would be her healing balm 😉actually they heal each other in the most beautiful way

Yes there were hurdles to overcome and many many tears shed but each one was worth it ! Once bitten , twice shy has no place here 🤣🥰😉

The Music That Ties Us (Love Ties Us Series) by Nicolette Terry is a great contemporary romance

Cadence is unable to move. stuck with a guy who might as well be a stranger today and forced into a career she didn’t want. Anything that feels like the life she’s missing out on is what she’s craving. Unexpectedly, that spark flares up when she runs across Rebel Rebellion lead singer Damien Walker at a rock concert. He gives off the impression that he doesn’t want anything to do with her, all brooding and jagged edges. With a family that depends on him and a past that prevents him from getting too close to anyone, Damien has his own mess to contend with. No matter how fascinating or frustrating a mystery lady may be, there’s never enough time for her.

Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. The story really brings us into their world. I couldn’t put the book down.

Many people can relate to the broken feeling, the need to feel loved. The main characters experience a wonderful one night stand, then end up wanting each other more than they ever thought possible. Romance, desire, and obstacles to get through to reach the love and happy ever after.

This was such a good read. As soon as I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. I quickly became invested in the lives of Cadence and Damien. Both of these characters grow in so many ways during this story. The author made the characters relatable. The author did an awesome job keeping me interested and wondering if these two were going to find their way to each other. I wanted to yell at Cadence and tell her to leave her crappy fiancé. There were also some other really great characters in this story that helped Damien and Cadence get to where they ended up. I don’t want to give anything away here, but I will say that this is a must read. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Cadence is stuck in what seems to be a loveless relationship. Her fiance is from a weathly family and as such she is expected to behave in a certain way. However she seeks to find excitement and gets the chance when her step sister invites her to a concert. It’s not really her scene but going to a rock concert couldn’t hurt, could it? Damien, the broody lead singer of Rebel Rebellion catches her eye. Or does she catch his? The attraction is instant and the sparks fly. Damien doesn’t have time for relationships no matter how fascinating the woman in question may be. Damien & Cadence are perfect for each other and I feel that the author made that come through the pages. The characters are relatable and likeable which makes you root for them to be together. It also makes for a page turner that you won’t want to put down.

This is the second book in the Loves Ties Us series, and since I fell in love with the first one so quickly, there was no doubt in my mind that I was grabbing this as soon as possible. I would highly recommend that you pick up the previous book before reading this one, but I promise that it is totally worth it! The stories of Cadence and Damien are emotional, heart-wrenching, and inspiring. These characters are so well-developed that they felt real like old friends of mine. I should have cleared my entire day before picking this book up because I couldn’t put it down and got nothing else done! It is absolutely addicting; don’t say I didn’t warn you. This author proved once again why they quickly made it on to my watchlist and I already need more. If you are looking for a steamy, addictive romance then this should be the next book you pick up!

The Music That Ties Us: A Rockstar Romance (Love Ties Us)The Music That Ties Us: A Rockstar Romance by Nicolette Terry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in The Love That Ties Us series. This is a romance with a rockstar and if full of banter, chemistry, desire and angst as they both try to fight against the chemistry they feel. This book had me hooked right from the beginning and I couldn’t help but fall in love with Damien and Cadence. They just fit so perfectly together like a beautiful piece of music with lyrics to match.

Damien is the leader singer of a group called Rebel Rebellion. Along with his career he also has a family who relys on him and trauma from his past that stops him getting close to anyone. He doesn’t have time for women and romance and wasn’t even interested until he met Cadence.

Cadence already has a boyfriend. Her boyfriend is part of a wealthy family and so as his partner she has to ask and behave in a certain way. As time goes on she starts to feel trapped inside a world where she doesn’t belong. Desperate for a break she goes with her sister to a concert and there she meets Damien. The spark between them is instant and undeniable but why does he act like he can’t stand to be near her?

With things already stacked against them surely they stand no chance? Even though Damien knows he shouldn’t get close to her he can’t stop the pull towards her. With seemingly everything stacked against them and keeping them apart with they ever get their chance to find out just how perfect for each other they truly are?
This book was really moving, you could actually feel the couples feelings and emotions jump right off the page. I was totally invested in their story and couldn’t put it down.

I absolutely ate this book up, read it beginning to end in less than a day. It’s beautifully written, and extremely relatable throughout almost the entire book. Cadence is stuck is what I would say is a lonely relationship. Her “boyfriend” is terrible. One night Cadence’s step sister Jade, asks her to go to a concert. Not really her thing but Cadence agrees to go. This is where she meets Damien. A rockstar, but with plenty of his own going on. Can’t wait for book 2, also love the playlist to listen to during the book!

I absolutely love this book series and recommend anyone looking for a feel-good romance series to start with the first book and then this one second. Each can be a standalone, but you’d be missing out on getting to know the whole gang that are key characters in each book. Nicolette Terry has written such a great book series, it gave me everything that I want in a romance, and then more. The author’s use of such masterful ways of going into detail about the character’s life stories really draws you in and helps you to connect with them. Every character is so realistic, that you feel like you can relate to the real-world issues that are going on in their lives.

I love that this particular book gives us Cadence’s story and that we get to see what is going on between her and her boyfriend and learn who the “I met someone” is referring to from Book #1. It’s great to read a story that deals with regular people’s problems and have a glimpse into the lives of people who have not had an over-the-top family life but are more down to earth in the fact that they grew up with less than stellar situations. It allows the reader to feel an emotional connection, and to relate to the drama and contention that makes up the storyline. It’s so hard to trust love when you’ve been burnt and don’t feel like you are worthy of being yourself. It’s nice to have a story that connects so well and overlaps the previous book, showing how well they go together. You are just getting the situations from another point of view from other characters in the friends group.

Back again after devouring the first book of this series. I ran to read this one. It’s a longer read than the last one both boy oh boy, it was just as good if not better. This one follows Cadence and Damien and their journey to their HEA. One thing I saw that the author did that I love was that she made a clean version and a spicy one. You know I had to get the spicy one but for the ones that don’t read for the spice then they can get the one without and still enjoy the story as well. I highly suggest that if y’all haven’t read any of this series go read it now lol the author is really talented and her writing transports you into the amazing world she’s built. Even though I don’t read rockstar romances that often, this one book of the series is my favorite so far . I can’t wait for more.

The Music That Ties Us is Book 2 in the Love Ties Us series…..and I loved this story. Cadence and Damien…wow, their story was hard to put down. Romance, angst, greed, friendship with sugar and spice. This story definitely took me on a roller coaster of emotions and I was all in to the very end.

Cadence is trying to make her relationship work with her current boyfriend work…but things are going sour..fast…. this picks up to Cadence and Damien meeting by chance encounter. When Cadence has a girls night out with her sister to go and see her favorite rock band, Cadence tags along. Little did she know, she meets Damien..who is the lead singer. Cadence already has a boyfriend, not expecting anything to change, but meeting Damien, something sparks. They both know nothing is to come out of a spark…but as Cadence puts the pieces together on a current relationship that is controlling…she finally is brave to move on. As Damien and Cadence get to know each other on a different level….lines can get blurred….feelings develop when they are both unsure what they want. When greed comes out to play hardball against Cadence and Damien… it hits hard. Will Cadence and Damien be able to withstand everything that is stacked against them…

Definitely read and find out!! Highly recommended story!

While this book is the second in the series it can be read as a standalone. The way Nicolette Terry writes is so very descriptive that I could easily “see” it in my mind as I was reading. This book drew me in slow, but hooked me fast. I didn’t want to put it down.
I could definitely tell from the beginning something was off with Cadence and Elijah’s relationship. The way Elijah went from being a jerk to lovey dovey was classic narcissistic behavior. Thankfully Cadence finally figured out he wanted her in a box and when she finally figured that out and allowed herself to grieve that relationship and move on she was much happier. The connection that Cadence has with Damien is everything a girl could ever hope for. Not to mention the steamy scenes with Damien had me thinking I needed to fan my face. (Spicy edition, there’s a clean edition also). Talk about the spark and heat of these two. In the end, love wins it all.

I really enjoyed this book. I am a huge music person, so this book really resonated with me. I enjoyed the storyline with Caydence and Jade, plus the dynamic with Caydence and Elijah. Then you have the whole dynamic with Caydence and Damien and the music. This was a great summer read and I really liked it. I also loved some of the locations within the book that are places I lived or have visited which added a fun element to the book for me personally. I would absolutely read another book by Nicolette Terry if it’s anything like this one!

The second book in the Love Ties Us Series by Nicolette Terry is The Music That Ties Us. I didn’t think it could get better than the first book, but I think it hit the mark! Some of the same great characters are in this book and portions of the storyline overlap. This book is centered around Cadence and Damien and their chance meeting at a concert. The Music That Ties Us is just as emotionally charged, but full of more drama and suspense than the first book in the series. Cadence and Damien have an obvious chemistry but many forces, along with their own inner demons, are intent on keeping them apart. Well-written world building and the same amazingly flawed characters are something I’m coupling with Nicolette Terry. I can’t wait to read more from her!

I had a hard time putting this book down. I fell in love with Damien and Cadence individually and together. Cadence is one of the two friends who live out of state and doesn’t get home nearly often enough.

Damien is the lead singer of Rebel Rebellion, while touring with his band he meets Jade. Jade who is also Cadence’s sister drags her along to one of their shows and sparks fly.

The first half of the book focuses on them as individuals and everything going on in their lives separately. It highlights what a catch Damien is and made me fall for him just a little bit.

The first two books have been my introduction to Ms. Terry which I discovered were her first two full length books. I’m looking forward reading her evolution as an author.

A great second book that follows the loves of Cadence and Damien. Cadence is the best friend of Blake, the main character in book one. This was another dual point of view story and I loved it. Cadence is stuck in a job that she doesn’t really like with a boyfriend that she has had since college. Her eyes are opening and she starts to see that he isn’t the man she fell in love with but she keeps trying and hoping to bring that fun, loving boy back into her life. Cadence meets Damien, the lead singer of a rock band, when her sister Jade drags her to a show one night. Instart sparks fly with just a look but Cadence is in a relationship and therefore off limits. Damien is the lead singer of a rock band that is still trying to make it big. He is tattooed and pierced and brooding. He seems to hold everything close to him and doesn’t really open up or let anyone in. Cadence needs to choose what is going to make her happy and Damien needs to keep his family safe. This book was a page turner and I hope that there are more to come in the series!

An enjoyable, emotional and engaging contemporary romance, with a rockstar romance theme. Cadence is stuck in a relationship with a guy who is now a stranger and in a career she didn’t want. She’s craving something, and she finds it when she comes face to face with the lead singer of Rebel Rebellion, Damien Walker. The fact that he makes it clear he doesn’t want anything to do with her just seems to make her more interested. However, it turns out that Damien also thinks Cadence is intriguing, but he has his own issues to deal with. His family is relying on him and memories from his past keep him from getting too close to anyone. Cadence manages to break through Damien’s walls and although he can’t have her, he can’t stay away. They feel like everything is trying to keep them apart but they are willing to break the rules to be together. I love the fact that it’s the music that brings Cadence and Damien together. I found them both to be likeable and relatable characters. I was pleased that this wasn’t just like every other rockstar romance. I thought it had much more depth and emotion in the storyline which kept me invested in the story.

The Music That Ties Us (Love Ties Us Series) by Nicolette Terry – Review by Jessica Stone

Wow, my goodness to say I throughly enjoyed this book is a understatement. This book grabbed me and didn’t let go right from the start. This author did a wonderful job of making this book interesting and easy to relate to, for anyone who’s ever been in a bad relationship or even to anyone who is just starting to develop feelings for someone.

Cadence is so relatable at points in this book it’s like looking in a mirror, the ups and downs this girl faces with juggling her friendships long distance to trying to maintain her relationship is nothing else if not entertaining. I find myself eager to see her get riled up and angry because watching the explosions is fun. She’s witty, and funny, and quirky, while managing to have a softer vulnerable side that she doesn’t show often but when she does it’s a real treat.

Damien is on the outside, the epitome of a up and coming rockstar. But underneath his friendly, outgoing facade he’s full of emotions that he doesn’t share with anyone. He’s got a lot going on in his life and doesn’t quite know how to handle it all, which in turn just kind of shuts him down more. But thankfully throughout this book he really opens up once he meets cadence and they hit it off.

So here’s the run down, girl goes to concert with sister to see new band she loves, girls finance stays home because he’s to good for that sort of thing, girl meets hot moody rocker, guy and girl do not hit it off, but have weird attraction to one another nonetheless. Girl and guy end up seeing each other more and more, start to develop a friendship that’s sexually charged from the get go, unfortunately girl still has fiancé, whom treats her less than great a lot of the time. Girl starts to realize she deserves better and she’s unhappy and thus the story unfolds.

Though it’s definitely not as cut and dry as that, the relationships maintained and made in this book are nothing if not whole heartedly relatable. Between her and her sister and her long time home town friends to her strained relationship with her fiancé and her new budding friendship with her rockstar, I devoured every word this book had to offer. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

Cadence is stuck in a relationship with her boyfriend she met in college. It isn’t until her sister talks her into going to a local bar to see a rock group perform when she realizes she isn’t living her life but her boyfriend’s life. What she didn’t expect was a connection she felt with the lead singer of Rebel Rebellion Damien Walker who also feels a connection. The story of Cadence and Damien spoke to me in a way I didn’t expect and I read it all the way thru in one evening. The characters were very relatable and the author did a great job world building.

This book was a very quick read for me. I was able to finish it in a day. It is really well written and will have you turning pages as quickly as you can. The characters in this book are amazing and you will feel like you want to be their friends by the end of it. It is a slow burn romance with a bit of spiciness tied into it. The characters have some amazing moments with quick wit and banter. It deals with relationship issues that a lot of people commonly find themselves in and it gives hope to that situation at the end of the day. I highly recommend reading this book because it has everything you could possibly want in a romance reading. The spice level was just enough to make you blush but not enough to make you question where you should be reading this book (well at least for me). I look forward to reading more from this author.

Damien and Cadence definitely fit together like a puzzle piece! The growth of their relationship was perfect!

Elijah- eff you! I did not like this guy and any time he and Cadence were together I would scream at my Kindle wanting her to leave him, even before Damien came into the picture.

Their relationship was so toxic and full of red flags that it’s easy to hate Elijah, there were absolutely no redeemable parts to him as a person or their relationship. I hated how she kept trying to get him to be the person she met/fell in love with, but that is also what made this feel so real for me since it does happen in real life, when they did finally break up though I was so happy!

I don’t normally read books like this so going into it I didn’t know how I would like it… and boy did I like it. No… LOVED it! I couldn’t put my Kindle down. This story hooked me right from the start and if it wasn’t for real life getting in the way I would have devoured this book so fast. The story is easy to get into, the characters are relatable, and even the internal pov was amazing and never boring. There are some sad parts, or at least to me they were, that made me want to jump into the book and give Damien the tightest hug.

This book is a slow burn, though, with them not getting together until chapter 22 for a while. Some twists happened and they were broken up again until chapter 32. The build-up for their first time together was so worth it though, and of course, I was screaming at my phone when Elijah came between them (again eff you, Elijah).

I give only a few books a 5-star rating, but this work of art deserves it! Watching the growth between Cadence and Damien, the personal growth of Cadence and her finding herself again after losing who she was, the relationships between friends and family, all of it was just perfection and so well written that giving it any less would be a crime.

Welcome to my never-ending list of book boyfriends Damien!

** I read the not clean version and loved the spice scenes, but if you aren’t into spice she does have a clean version**

The Music That Ties Us is part of the Love Ties Us series by Nicolette Terry, I have never read a book by this author before, but I will be keeping an eye out for more. I really enjoyed everything about this book, it got me mad which is a good thing. The story follows Cadence who finds herself in an unfulfilling relationship with a who is stifling her, when Cadence goes to a concert with her sister Jade, she does not expect to have an instant connection with the smouldering lead singer of the band. Damien is not in the market for a relationship, especially one with a woman who is already taken, he has been burned before and has learned his lesson however, he cannot deny the attraction he feels. This was a really enjoyable book, I got so mad at Elijah and the way he treated Cadence that I was practically shouting at my Kindle. I really wish this book had included him getting his comeuppance rather than seemingly being able to walk away without consequence, but hopefully, future books will revisit some of these storylines. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series.

I love a series that can be read in any order or by themselves. This is book two in the Love Ties us series but it can be a standalone novel. So if you have read the first story it is ok. I really love the playlist at the front of the books. I think they are great companions to capture the essence of the story.
I loved this story, instant connection is so hard to come by but it’s so beautiful. It really is as if that person was made for you. The chemistry between Damien and Cadence jumps off of the page. I enjoyed every minute of the book.

The Music That Ties Us (Love Ties Us Series) by Nicolette Terry

The Music That Ties Us is the second book in the Love Ties Us Series and holy cow what a heartfelt amazing Rockstar Romance. I was pulled in from the beginning and pretty much devoured this whole book in one sitting. I literally did nothing else until I finished. The characters are relatable, complex, raw yet realistic and developed. My emotions were all over the place with this story and my heart was happy and sad for these two. I don’t want to give anything away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m already waiting patiently for the next book in this series. I’m sure it’s going to be just as good as this one. I can’t wait.

This book is a good read. It takes you away from reality and just to sit and relax. It’s a little different than what I expected. The characters are very well done, just like the first book of the series. The story flows well and the reader can easily follow what’s going on in the story.
