This book is very cute. The meeting between Drew and Katie is hysterical and had me laughing for the first chapter of this Novella. This is a spinoff of the Playmakers series (which I have not read and now must go read). I was not lost or in any way confused about the storyline and the characters.
This book was a quick, cute and funny read and I will definitely be going to get the rest of the series.

Love Rinkside is the first I’ve read in this series, The Playmakers, but I loved it, so I’m sure I’ll go back and read others. This book is a perfect rom-com story. The beginning is hilarious and the laughs kept coming. Both Drew and Katie were wonderfully written and likeable. The supporting characters are well developed and give a preview of the other books. The ending was perfect, it was both funny and sweet. I like how the author built their lovable dogs into the story.

Love Rinkside: A Spicy Hidden Identity Hockey Romance Novella (The Playmakers Series)

If you’re looking for an entertaining book to distract you on your commute or whenever you listen to books I suggest you get this one.

Katie and Drew’s initial meeting had me giggling at first then the picture of what was described had me laughing out loud. Their story was a cute one and I throughly enjoyed listening to it to get me through my work day.

The narrators Ryan Lee Dunlap and Shiloh James did a great job bringing Katie and Drew’s story to life. This was the first time listening to either one of them but will definitely look for more book they narrate.

This was not my introduction to Ms. Brady or this series and this is not the last time I will be reading her

This has to be one of the funniest romances I have read in a while! The entire book is filled with humor, but sizzling heat between Drew and Katie. The whole mascot idea was hysterical. I think my favorite part of the book was the way these characters actually met. It was a quick read and I didn’t want to put it down. It is a novella, but not having read the other Playmakers books, I felt like I didn’t miss out on anything, but I will definitely be adding all other Playmakers books to my list!

Kate and Drew meet under the most comical of circumstances. One dressed up like a male appendage and one as a Banana Slug! Under the disguise of the costumes they hit it off.

Once revealing who they actually were to each other they quickly discovered they have the same group of friends. Swearing off relationships right out the gate they more or less went their own way.

When a chance meeting at the dog park had them running into one another the sparks were there. Will they be able to connect and get thru to one another and keep the humor they hit it off with?

This is my first book by this author and the first in this series and I am already searching for more and wanting more.

Love Rinkside (The Playmakers Series) Audiobook by G. K. Brady – Review by Cindy Mayberry

This story starts out so funny. In a place where you could actually believe what you are reading. Meeting at a Halloween party, Drew and Katie have no interest in meeting a partner. But yet their costumes draw them together. Causing shenanigans to commence. From there the story keeps you reading as you don’t want to miss a thing. I will give no Spoilers as this is a Must read! I will tell you unexpected and unwanted romance is in the story along with Hockey. The author has once again brought forth an outstanding series. This one just adds to the fun and laughter. The story is fast paced and one of my favorites in this series. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Love Rinkside (The Playmakers Series) Audiobook by G. K. Brady – Review by M Policicchio

Drew didn’t want to be at this Halloween party.  He especially didn’t want to be at this Halloween party dressed as a banana slug.  But there he was, at least he found a nice place to hide and it had a stash of decent beverages.  Then when she came crashing into his quiet, Drew wasn’t sure what or who she was but he was instantaneously intrigued by her.

Katie knew she wasn’t ready, if she ever was going to be ready, for a new relationship after that last one.  He was a complete jerk.  It was fine, Katie was very happy living in Singledom.  She even told that to the giant banana slug.  He was good with it.  He felt the same.  When Katie and “Sammy the Slug” decided they had enough of the party and wanted to escape, they did so only knowing the fake names they had given to each other.  All the fun they were having on their grand adventure escaping the dreaded party came to a screeching halt when the red and blue lights flashed.

When Katie and Drew found out who the other was, they realized that they had been in each other’s orbits for several years but never quite made any connections.  Drew and Katie tried to be friends.  But the chemistry was too much.  They both knew what each wanted out of this situationship.  They had both said it the night of the Halloween party, happy in Singleville, not looking to move.  Giving into their desires, they lit it up.

The problem with thinking that you know what another person wants is that you really don’t know.  As Katie and Drew fought their feelings for each other, fought the pull to find out if the other one wanted more than just casual, fought their own insecurities and ghosts, trouble brewed.  When the trouble bubbled over, there were broken hearts all over.  When Drew figures out that he can’t live without Katie, can an over the top grand gesture heal what was broken by some careless words?

Plug your headphones in (or charge them) and listen to this captivating story!!  Laugh, love, and get covered in dog hair along with these engaging characters!!  Highly recommended for all the hockey lovers out there.

I love that this book was a quick read. It had me hooked from the beginning and I didn’t want it to end. If you’re looking for a fun meet-cute with a nice flow, this is the book for you. Even though this book is part of a series, it could definitely be read as a stand alone as well.

The characters pull you in from the beginning. I was hooked instantly. This book has it all. Comedy, romance, antics, chemistry, adventure, and so much more.

So sweet, I guess these are now called meet cute romances. Oh, so adorable that I felt a cavity form. I loved these two together. An adventure that brought them together for a sweet romance. The chemistry was fun and playful. I found myself giggling out loud. My grandson kept asking what’s funny. I can’t tell a 10 yr old boy why I’m laughing at a romance. It’s a quick read that’s very entertaining. Great writing and wonderful characters. I was so glad to have had headphones on the whole time because this story is also a bit of spicy. Oh my, it made a jalepeno seem mild. I loved the flirting and the steam. An absolute must listen to. An awesome audio if you’re home alone cleaning, etc.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. The Halloween party and it’s shenanigans following had me laughing so hard I had tears coming out. Drew and Katie make an adorable couple and I was rooting for them the entire time. I was hoping that they would work everything out and that Kate’s Chow-mix pupper would come to love Drew. It was a really good read and a good pallet cleanser between books. G.K. did a wonderful job creating her characters, and this awesome world of hockey. I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the series!

I have read some of the Playmaker Series and always enjoy them. This book didn’t disappoint! What a fun “Halloween Costume Requirement” having everyone dress up as a mascot! The story starts with Drew kind of hiding away during the Halloween party and Katie finding a quiet moment away from the party. They soon realize that they not only have friends in common but also really “click” with each other. These two are super like able! I loved this novella that included family members of the Hockey players connect.

Love Rinkside is Book #10, and the twelfth instalment, in The Playmakers series by G.K. Brady. It is a ‘meet cute’ contemporary romance with humour, fun, antics, capers, costumes, adventure, friendship, family, drama, angst, hockey, banter, emotion, sweet storyline, chemistry, and finding love unexpectedly.
Even though this instalment is well into the series (Book #10), it could be read as a standalone if you wanted, without feeling like you are missing anything, as each book in the series focuses on a different couple. But having said that, there are recurring characters, and other details, which span the series, so knowing what happens in the previous instalments would only help to enhance your reading experience here.
This is probably my favourite out of the instalments that I have read in the series. It is a fairly short story with a light-hearted, rom-com feel- making for a fun, quick, and easy read.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, G.K. Brady!

Love Rinkside is a fun standalone novella in The Playmakers series. It is a quick and entertaining read. This sports RomCom has much humour and banter and had me laughing out loud and sometimes cringing at their predicaments. This sweet with a dash of spice tale is full of emotions as well.
We get to meet up with characters from previous books and what a mess they get themselves into. Drew and Katie find themselves in a most unlikely situation when they escape a fancy dress party and end up on the wrong side of the law. Unfortunately, Drew is not looking for love in fact dating is not even in his wheelhouse but when a certain someone bursts in full colour into his life he finally accepts the inevitable.
Want a feel-good story that you can enjoy and escape for a few hours then this is the book for you.
Love Rinkside has it all Halloween, Thanksgiving and Hockey. Crazy costumes, rough neighbourhoods, nosy friends and family and you have mayhem and madness at the ready.

Drew is just floating through his life at the moment, trying to get his business up and running but when his major contract is given to another company not because of the level of skill but that they are lower in price and know someone within the company he becomes depressed and when his sister and his brother-in-law persuades him to go to there Halloween party and he meets another misfit on the balcony, can he handle the attraction or will she put them into the friendzone.

Katie is invited to a Halloween party of her colleague but the theme is mascots so Katie pulls out all the stops and goes in the most embarrassing one but as she is escaping she spots some beers on the balcony but when she runs into a Banana things get interesting. Drew is the brother of her colleague and the chemistry between them is electric but Katie is not sure if she wants to have a relationship, but when he ticks all her boxes can she give this a chance.

This is a brilliant romance story where the characters are believable and you would love to have them in your real life rather than your book world fantasy. The story draws you in and has you rushing to turn the page to find out what happens next.

Katie’s character is full of sass and a great sense of humour which moulds brilliantly with the not too alpha character in Drew which was lovely to read, the chemistry between these two was just amazing and loved reading it. The secondary characters just add to the story and make it really enjoyable. I can’t wait to read more from the wonderful author in the future.

Love Rinkside (The Playmakers Series) Audiobook by G. K. Brady – Review by Micalah Weatherholtz

Although it was a quick listen, Love Rinkside was a laugh out loud funny, well written, hockey romance. Although the guy plays hockey and it’s important to him it wasn’t the center point of the novel. The first chapter had me laughing out loud. I loved the relationship between the MMC and the FMC, and it started out pretty intense for them both. I think both voices were a perfect fit for the characters and really brought them to life! I am definitely interested in reading/listening to more of the novels in this series.

This is my first audio book by this author which I enjoyed reading.  It is an engaging story where the narrator brought the story to life with the different tones of voice.  I enjoyed how the characters made me want to know more.  This is a story about  Drew and Katie .  They are great characters.  They have one night of fun that gets cut short by a dog attack.  Now Drew wants a second chance to make it up to Katie.  This is an easy story to listen to.  I enjoyed this one and I look forward to listening to more from this author.  I highly recommend this audiobook.

I enjoyed reading this romance story. This is a newer author for me which I enjoy their writing style as well as their creative characters that are written with a lot of heart. I enjoyed the author’s use of details to bring the characters to life as well. This is a shorter story but it sure packs a punch in the romance department. It is a well written story where the characters pull you into their world from the start. Drew and Katie are great characters. They have one night of fun that gets cut short by a dog attack. Now Drew wants a second chance to make it up to Katie. Problem is she is done with guys, will she give him another chance? I enjoyed watching their growth and their chemistry. It made the story easy to read and entertaining as well. This is a fast paced, engaging story that you don’t want to miss. A story that is hard to put down and one I really enjoyed reading. I highly recommend this book.

I have read a few books from this author and she continues to blow my mind on how she writes her characters. My favorite genre is sports romance and she always exceeds my expectations. This book could be read as a standalone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was excited for this book and I started reading it right away. It only took me a full day to read this awesome story. I can’t wait to see what she will write about next.

Wyatt Tompkins is a very well known goaltender. He is a huge player who has no problem with it at all. Wyatt thinks he can’t be touched but he finds himself not playing for a year. He then goes to cool off and hears a woman in trouble. Wyatt goes and helps right away and when he finds out who he saved he is in shock. He helps the PR woman that probably got him in this mess in the first place. Wyatt needs all the help he can get and Serena now owes him one. Will they be able to get what they have wanted all along or will they be too different from another?

Guarding the Crease (The Playmakers #9)Guarding the Crease by G.K. Brady
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Guarding the Crease by G.K. Brady is one of my favorite opposites-attracts romances. It was full of all the things I love…sweetness, spiciness, the feels, and a fantastic, wonderful ending!!!

Wyatt and Serena are complete opposites. He is a playboy who seems intent on wrecking his career. She is extremely good at her job and takes it very seriously. He has a mother who seems intent on telling him he is worth NOTHING despite his success. She has a loving and supportive family. Plus, the two don’t really like each other very much either. Basically, they should never work, but somehow they do.

Serena is a victim of an attack when the last person she expects to be her savior is her biggest pain in the neck, Wyatt, the disgraced NHL goaltender. He not only doesn’t leave her side, but he makes sure she makes it home safely. But, Wyatt being Wyatt, thinks he can use this to his advantage and get Serena to help him out in two ways: as a wedding date and getting his spot back on the team. As these two spend more time together, a sweet friendship develops with a lot of underlying chemistry that sizzles. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed seeing a bad boy fall so hard!

Wyatt is like a puzzle piece she can’t quite figure out. He has a horrible partying playboy reputation, but he also has a sweet, caring side as well. Trying to figure out what makes this man tick now playing with her own feelings. There is something special that continues to draw her towards him.

Serena isn’t like any woman Wyatt has ever been with. She’s not only beautiful, but she is intelligent and works really hard at her job in the PR Department. Plus, she doesn’t fawn all over him because he is a professional athlete. She points out his selfishness but not in a way that demeans him, only in a way that allows him to see who he really is and become a better person. Although she does have one thing in common with him, her love of Legos. What could be sweeter than that!!!!

The romance isn’t the only plot happening in the book. There is still danger lurking around the corner for Serena, and she wants to handle it herself. Thank God Wyatt doesn’t agree. He literally is a knight in shining armor, even if that armor is a little bit dinged.

If you love flawed hockey heroes and strong, quirky, and smart heroines, along with an opposites-attract novel with all the feels, this book is definitely for you! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!

Guarding the Crease (The Playmakers #9)Guarding the Crease by G.K. Brady
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Guarding the Crease (The Playmakers Series Hockey Romances Book 9) by G.K. Brady is a great sport romance.

Wyatt requires Serena’s clever PR skills, and he’s not above manipulating the payback. He’s even willing to overlook her prickly exterior in order to win her over. After all, she’s already acquainted with his brand of lunacy, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s attractive. Serena is determined to propel her career to new heights and become invaluable to the team—as soon as she overcomes a devious teammate. Helping Wyatt will simply divert her attention and energy away from her main purpose, but she can’t deny that more sizzles beneath his roguish smile. Serena slowly pulls back the layers to expose the true heart pulsing beneath the goalie gear.

Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a unique sports romance series. The story really brings excitement into your life. I couldn’t put the book down.

Wyatt Tompkins has had one too many bad days. His PR team has had their work cut out for them with all his antics, but Serena Lambert has become a pro over the years at spinning things in a better light. Wyatt’s only goal is to be a goalie in the big leagues, but he is currently swimming in the minors. Serena is the only one who can help him climb back to the top. Will she be willing to help him? Even though she has only ever seen him in a bad light he does seem to be a changed man. This was a good book. I think I have read one or two others in this series but I will definitely be reading the rest. The author put together a great cast of character who showed a lot of development. I can’t wait to dive into the other books in the series.

I have enjoyed other books in this series so it should come as no surprise that this one raises the bar a little bit more. I thought that creating an image for Wyatt that was anything close to loveable was going to be a challenge. Somehow the author not only carved him into a redeemable man but had me rooting for him! I love Serena’s character as she is strong but gracious. The chemistry flies off the pages eventually, but will it be enough? I recommend picking up any book in this series, but this one is absolutely a very enjoyable read!

Serena and Wyatt couldn’t be more opposite. She is hard working career driven and he is a giant party boy who seems to be unable to stay out trouble which ends up costing him his job and hanging out with the owners son.

Wyatt was in the right place at the right time and that started a chain of events that slowly start to get his life on track.

I really enjoyed this book, there were so many little things that added to the characters and story and I couldn’t put it down. I hope I’m able to catch up with Wyatt, Serena & family some day.
