This is an interesting story full of magic and paranormal. Alongside Reign are the Morretti brothers and together they must work with and take care of Adam the human mage. Now they must fight the evil and save Italy. This is the second book in this series and it would be good to read the previous book to better understand and enjoy this book. I like the world that is being built in this series but I am having a hard time connecting with the characters, it was nice though to see the way everyone fights together against the evil. There are many different paranormal creatures in this world both good and evil. You never know what they might encounter next. The journey for those involved is not over yet and I am interested to know just what they will do next.

First time reader of this talented author, Carol McKibben. This is the 2nd Book The Silver Blood Knight series. I started this series on this book not realizing this was the second one lol. I ran to go get the first book after I finished reading this. It was a quick read but although it was short, man it was amazing. The world the author builds is so fantastic. It really draws you in and makes you believe you’re there. It has almost everything you’d want in a supernatural story. I can’t wait to finish the first book. If you’re looking for a good short series I highly recommend it.
Ps i didnt know what a lich was until i looked it up. Then i remembered I’ve seen this creature on adventure time lmao

This is the second book in The Silver Blood Knight series, but I didn’t pay close enough attention and read this one first. I don’t feel like I was super lost, but I recommend picking up the first one as I’m sure it adds to an already marvelous plot. This was a great story full of paranormal beings and tons of suspense! This is a pretty quick read that will surely fit into an afternoon, but don’t be fooled by the length. Carol McKibben does an incredible job of giving the characters amazing depth in that short period of time, and you will be invested in every melodramatic move. I’m picking up the first in the series now to catch up!

Reign is a lycan/vampire hybrid who has visions, sometimes they’re set in the future, sometimes they’re happening in real time. The beginning of the novel starts with Reign having one of these visions. The vision consists of the president turning himself into a Lich. He sends his people to go make more and more until he has amassed an army of the undead.

Since the group has been appointed by God himself, they take it upon themselves to be the country’s protector. There is Reign, James who is a magic wielding hybrid, Adam (a teenaged clone who is also a mage) and 10 brothers who are all also lycan/vampire hybrids. All of their names start with a Z, which did make the beginning of the book a bit confusing when the author first introduces the characters but then I was quickly caught up by the descriptive writing of the author.

The group bands together to defeat the Lich and his undead army while other obstacles are thrown their way. Demons, sirens, Greek mythology creatures, even Anubis who is a part of Egyptian mythology. The odds are stacked against them but they are willing to sacrifice anything to save the world.

This is technically book 2 in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. The author did a great job introducing the characters and their background. Even though it is a relatively short book, it is chalk full of action. I could not put it down, read it in one sitting.

The book does a really good job of keeping you on the hook with an ending that will make you want to read the next installment!

This is the second book in The Silver Blood Series. I really loved this paranormal adventure story. I would recommend reading this series from the beginning as I didn’t and at first I felt a bit lost in the story. However I still really enjoyed it and I will be going back to read book 1 so I can enjoy it even more.
The author does an amazing job of creating the characters and also the story itself. This story is action packed with dangers, and magic and so many magical beings. This is definately a story about good vs evil as Reign and his friends and warriors battle against all the evil beings that are threatening the world.
Just when you think they have solved the problem something else immerges. The story twists and turns with danger coming from places you don’t expect. I really can’t wait to read more of this series.

The cover initially drew me to this book before even thinking about the blurb/synopsis, but when I did, I knew this was the book for me and immediately went to buy the first book without even reading its synopsis and I have no regrets.

The world that the author has been able to create in such a short book is incredible and I absolutely love how the mix of supernatural creatures, mythology and more all come together so nicely within it!

I got so lost in this book I did not put it down. The concept and plot are original – full of action, magic and good vs. Evil. The writing flows well and is easy to follow and really enjoyed the perspective in which the point of view was written. The mannerisms which many people writing this would have missed (e.g., the turning to settle down) in writing this just makes it all the more believable and immersive to me.

There are parts which make me believe another book is in the works and I really hope that is true because I need more!

Reign: The Rise of the Lich is the second book in The Silver Blood Knight Series. This paranormal vampire book starts off action-packed and continues throughout. The book is told from the point of view of a wolf which I felt was creative, brilliant, original, and immediately intrigued me into reading more.

It starts with the lycan/vampire/wolf, Reign, having a vision about the president of Italy being turned into a Lich. Although Reign is a lycan/vampire he chooses to remain in wolf form. The Moretti brothers are hybrids just like Reign with the strength of the lycans and the speed of a vampire. James is a hybrid with magical powers and Adam is a teenage human mage with powers. Reign, Adam, James, and the Moretti brothers have been anointed by God to act as his warriors. They set out to rid Rome of the Lich as they attempt to protect Earth from evil forces. Will they be able to survive?

This book was very well written with descriptive settings that made you feel as though you were there, amazing characters, and a great storyline. The author did a fantastic job with the creation of the hybrid characters, and how they band together to protect Earth from Evil. The small group of Heaven’s warriors band together to battle evil forces that are determined to destroy Earth. Resisting temptation along the way, the small group ward off mythological creatures, corrupt politicians, and hordes of undead warriors. I really enjoyed how the story was told from the point of view of a wolf. I have never read a book told from this point of view and felt it was a unique, out of the box, writing style. The story was action-packed from the first pages, and full of shapeshifters, magical powers, adventure, drama, suspense, and danger. Ultimately it tells the story of good versus evil as the warriors anointed by God in Heaven fight Hell on Earth created by a corrupt, evil politician. Looking forward to reading more by this author!

This is an enjoyable short story that really packs a lot into its pages. This is the second book in the series and I would highly recommend reading book 1 first so you get a full understanding of what is going. This is a great story and I enjoyed the unique take on shifters. It isn’t often an author can be original with this trope and it is even more rare for them to do it so well.
I thought the characters fit really well with the book. They were interesting and all had their part to play. This really is a great book and definitely worth your time.

This book was amazing, it was so well written, the worlds and the characters were all so well written it felt like you could be right there in the story. I really liked the way the author did a mix of hybrid fantasy characters; I enjoy reading other people’s take on how vampires and werewolves are perceived. This story was very fast paced and packed with action with the battles that you will not want to put this book down till you are done. I however didn’t read the first book, but it was still easy to follow and know what was going on, but I can tell you I will be going back and reading the first one. I do believe I would understand a lot more if I started with book one, but it was still an amazing read and easy to follow and wasn’t that confusing. This book was very enjoyable, and I am happy I picked it up and can’t wait to know if there will be more from this author. Highly recommend this amazing book.

Immortality, hybrids and adventure
This paranormal urban fantasy is the second book in The Silver Blood Knight series. I really enjoyed the characters, storyline and world building. Book 1 is definitely the place to start, as it provides a foundation for this book. There is so much between the pages from wizards and magic to vampires and shifter hybrids with action and mystery interwoven throughout. A great read. Recommend.

REIGN: The Rise of the Lich: The Silver Blood Knight by Carol McKibben is the second book in the series and it is a great vampire paranormal.

They are the only hope for Italy. All of Italy is in danger of being destroyed, and James, God’s chosen knight, a hybrid vampire wolf, a young wizard, and a few related Lycans are the only thing standing in the way.

Matisse, the corrupt politician, has spent years changing into a Lich. He now leads hordes of undead warriors across Italy, determined to destroy every living being in his way since he has the power to resurrect the dead.

Other mythological predators emerge with the intention of obliterating James and his comrades as Heaven’s small band battles to resist the Lich and his wicked warriors.

Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a unique paranormal duology. The story brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down. I had to binge-read the series.

I have said before that I am not usually a fan of shorter stories BUT this one is so damn packed full I just have to shut my mouth. Story length in no way matters with this fantastic book. I unfortunately started this series on book 2 which I will be rectifying as soon as possible as well as exploring this amazing authors other books. How much she managed to pack into this book is truly amazing. It’s filled with such unique, wonderful characters and is such a creative storyline that you wont be able to put it down. You will want to see how this battle unfolds! I am hesitant to comment on the actual storyline itself because I just know I’ll give away something that I shouldn’t. Just do yourself a favour and get reading!!

This novel is well written, but I have to admit that I am confused by many things. I will definitely have to go back and read the first of the series to see what I have missed. That being said, I recommend picking up the first book then diving into the second. This novel is very short and took me a little over an hour to read from start to finish.

I would have liked more character development, but I could have missed most of that development from the first book. However, the storyline is so fun and entertaining. Overall, I recommend to any fantasy lover. Just make sure to read the first in the series then this one!

This original story is narrated from a wolf point of view.

A fantastic world where fantasy and reality collide, a group of friends will fight the evils of the world and have a family, discovering along the way that an angel’s touch is also the door to emotion and vulnerability.

Regin is a lycan/vampire that  decided to stay in wolf form, and learn and act as such. Along a 10 Morretti brothers clan  who happen to be just like him, hybrids of the two spices, must take care of Adam, a teenage human mage  with incredibles powers.

Zane, Zindel, Zeno, Zale, Zachary, Zylon, Zeb, Zander, Zoltan, Zohar are the hybrid brother with the speed of the vampire and the strength of the lycans, this group of man and boys take care of the ones they love and protect the most needed from an evil Lich who seeks to destroy the world and gather power.

Guided by James, another hybrid with magic, the whole of them will measure their friendship through the hardships of evil and temptation.

Reign is a wolf, the brothers 9 are Lycans, and James is an angel of sorts, and then we have the wizard that is very powerful.

The above are a powerful group trying to keep evil from taking over Italy. The Lich is trying everything in his power to take down the group of immortals by any means possible. The use of mythology captured my interest and kept wondering how the immortal group was going to defeat Lich.

The author has an easy flow of writing and gets you interested in the story right away.

REIGN: The Rise of the Lich is the second book in The Silver Blood Knight Series by Carol McKibben. I don’t know why it has taken me so long to discover this author, because after reading this book I now realise that I have seriously been missing out. But I do wish that I had paid more attention when I purchased this and realised that it is the second book in the series. Because I think if I had read the first book before embarking on this adventure, it would have elevated my reading experience even more. So, I will definitely be going back to read ‘REIGN: The Assault of Lucifer Morningstar’ before continuing on with the rest of the series.
This is an engrossing urban fantasy, with plenty of action, adventure, danger, dramatic developments, shifter hybrids, wizards, magic, Lycans, paranormal beings, high stakes, sinister agendas, politics, corruption, good vs evil, and the very fate of humanity and the world hanging in the balance.
Let’s be honest though, Ms. McKibben already had me at ‘God’s own appointed knight’ and ‘hybrid vampire wolf’…… everything else was just a bonus from there.
Can’t wait to explore the rest of the series.
Happy Reading….

Thank you, Carol McKibben!

This was an amazing way to spend my 33rd birthday. This is the was the first book I have read by the incredible Carol McKibben. Before this book I had never heard of her and was amazed by the amount of emotion I felt for the characters from the first page. Yes, this is the second book in this series, but it does not take away from the story. I didn’t read the first book before this one and didn’t feel that I was missing any information or details that would lessen the impact of the overall plot of this book.
The book starts with Reign having a vision, watching as the ritual that turned the president of Italy into a Lich. With his kindred Reign, James, Adam, and the Moretti brothers have been anointed by God as his warriors, to protect the Earth from evil. After a run in with several creatures from Greek mythology, the group begin to form a plan on how to rid Rome of the terror that is the Lich. The way the author combines so many different elements together to make one cohesive world is inspiring. Flowing nature like water from one instant to the next, the book has a seamless forward movement that doesn’t keep you waiting too long for answers. While also incorporating the main plot for the third book into the middle of the second book that keeps circling in the current goal as a mystery to handle next, after the lich is gone.
Will the group succeed in ending the Lich’s reign over Rome? Can they all make it out of the battle alive? What will happen to Zander? The author truly knows how to entrance the reader, you start the book and before you realize it you finish it craving more. I am beyond excited for the next book in The Silver Blood Series, Reign and the Evil Plagues. In the meantime, I will be going back and reading book one in the series. Also, as this was my first experience with this author, I didn’t know that she was known as the author who writes from a dog’s eyes. With that said the entire book I loved reading the little unconscious actions of Reign, such as randomly standing and spinning in circles mid conversation before returning to his place, never missing a moment.

This is a new author to me and I’m definitely going back and reading the first book in this series but im also going to check out her other series as well. The plot is just as unique as the characters and keeps you turning the pages while on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what is going to happen next. Get ready as John and his heavenly friends fight the fight of their lives against the reanimated creatures that are unholy. Good verses Evil. Who will win this battle and become the Victor? REIGN: The Rise of the Lich: The Silver Blood Knight is the second book in this refreshing series. Unfortunately, I didn’t pick up on this until I was nearly finished this book. Carol is a new author to me, and I really enjoyed her work. Unfortunately, it is a very short story.

The characters are very well developed and interesting, and the world-building is intriguing, and the plot is original and unique. I enjoy a good paranormal tale one where you get lost in the story and invested in the characters and REIGN: The Rise of the Lich is just that.

James and his band of Heavenly friends are in a fight for the souls of on earth against reanimated unholy creatures. It is a fight of their lives. Where a battle against good and evil meet once again. Who will be the victor?

This tale has lots of suspense and a great storyline has twists and turns I didn’t see coming and is action-packed. You will be glued to your seat as you turn page after page.

Magic, Knights, a hybrid vampire wolf, a teenaged wizard, Lycans, corrupt politicians, mythological predators are what you will find in this gripping tale.

Not only will I have to go back to the first book, but I will be going back and start at the beginning of her vampire stories.
