Princess Isabel and Henrique … let me see. WOW their chemistry is sparking feelings Isabel never knew she could experience. The proper princess is discovering she has desires she has hidden for a very long time. The rakish playboy Henrique never expected to feel like this either. Bound and determined to never settle down. Wonderful historal romance.

I have enjoyed this series so much and this installment has made it even better! If you are at all into historical romance, then you can stop reading this review and just pick up the book/series. It’s absolutely worth it! I neglected a lot of responsibilities to read this book because I just couldn’t pull myself away. We get to follow Isabel and Henrique in this book and trust me when I say they will make you swoon! This has been my favorite book in the series so far, and I hope the author continues this world because it is phenomenal. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is into historical romance, but even if you aren’t, I believe you will enjoy this book just as well!

I swear I got transported to Portugal during the 1800s while reading this novel. From page one I was hooked. Giovanna has a talent for capturing a readers senses and drawing them in. Henrique and Isabel are like yin and yang, complementary. The chemistry is electrifying and swoon worthy. Please read this novel!

For fans of spicy historical romance with a twist—set in Spain/Portugal—but with all the crucial elements that make me love this genre. It’s got period details, romance tropes, and a plot that isn’t only about a love story. The characters are well-developed, although sometimes the writing took me out of the story a little. I haven’t read the other two books in this series but I’m sure I’ll be picking up a book by this author again in no time.

However, their goals are different. When they end up forced together and on the run, they give in and find what they were missing all along. Princess Isabel loves her country above all else and is willing to do whatever it needs to protect it. Henrique, her bodyguard, is scientific and practical and flirty and our princess doesn’t know how to deal with the feels she gets from him. This book is full of imagery of both Portugal and Spain , amazing dialogue, and a great story line. It is book 3 in the series but the first two are not needed ahead of time. The book was a wonderful historical romance and worth the read!

One of the first lines in a whole paragraph of things said about this story is the one that stands out the most and applies to this Novel are captivating tale and opulent backdrop. I thought it had both. I think the author really did her research about the subject matter in this book and she sounded very knowledgeable. I really love a deep, humorous, steamy, heart squeezing romance full of banter between the main characters, and there was all of that. Plus we get to hear from both of the main characters which is my favorite way to read romances so we know what they are both thinking. I didn’t think I was going to enjoy the female main character because at first she seemed very prudish, and a little shallow. I was a bit confused who was actually speaking at first, but I’m glad that impression was not the overall feel throughout. I started with this, book three, but I think I’m going back to read the rest of the series.

This is the 3rd book in The Winemakers Series. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone, however I feel once you read one you will want to read them all. This is a historical romance, enemies to lovers story. I love the chemistry between our main characters as they seem to play a cat and mouse game with each other. I also love the fire in Isabel, she is a princess but a princess who isn’t afraid to speak her mind which is refreshing for the time period the story is set in.
This story has so many beautiful elements from the characters themselves to the authors amazing writing which transports the reader back in time and describes the places so vividly it feels like you are there.
If you like historical romances full of twists and turns, a little danger, a sense of doing your duty and what is expected of you along with secrets and hidden agendas to uncover this book has something for everyone.

The Truth About Myths (The Winemakers Book 3) by Giovanna Siniscalchi. This is such a good Historical romance, I really enjoyed it. Its the story of Princess Isabel who is very rigid almost to the point of being a prude but when she goes to Spain with Viscount Henrique she is very enthralled by him. He is so sexy and everything she has tried to stay away from. Henrique is tasked with taking Isabel who is his best friends sister and he is not looking forward to it. He is known for being a rake and not being faithful but when he gets to know Isabel he thinks she might be able to change his ways. Isabel is so rigid and wants to do what is right for her country and Henrique is all about living life to the fullest. He does admire Isabel and the chemistry between them is remarkable. The author’s description of the beautiful scenery made me feel as if I was transported to Spain and Portugal. This can be read as a standalone as well.

I have really enjoyed this series and visiting new places in my books. This is the third book in the series and follows some new characters. Isabel is the princess of Portugal and loves her country. Her brother, the king, sends her off to visit her cousin and find out what is happening in Spain. Henrique is selling his land and moving out of the country, but agrees to accompany the sister of his good friend (the king) to Spain. Henrique is witty and charming and knows how to woo the ladies. Isabel has been protected and doesn’t agree with his philandering, but she sees a different man underneath the façade. In Spain, they are busy with many events planned by her cousin, but also in a lot of political meetings. The true king of Spain is invited to the palace and tries to sweep Isabel off her feet in order to get back to his rightful throne. The story kept me guessing and I learned so much about life in the 1800s.

Very well written and I can picture beautiful place in Portugal and Spain….The Truth About Myths is book 3 in The Winemakers series. I really enjoy this series and though this book could be read as a standalone…I would highly recommend reading this series in order. The author is fabulous and her storytelling is amazing. The romance, tension and banter between Henrique and Isabel…I loved it.

When Isabel is asked by the King to go to Spain to help out….it is her duty to do so. What is not anticipated is who is accompanying her….none other than Henrique….which at first was a bit trying. Knowing how proper and set in her ways Isabel is….will she be able to let a bit go and see another side to Henrique and will he fight for her?

Delightful and Wonderful story. I highly recommend this series.

After reading this book, I have decided that I actually love historical romance. This book is amazingly written and allows you to picture everything non your head with a clear concise picture. What happens when the person chosen to escort you is your brothers best friend but also a huge rake? All of that is described in the book and you won’t be let down. This is a very quick read because the words flow off the pages and you will get caught up in the story. There is a banter between the characters that has me wishing for more. The passion and the chemistry is off the charts in this book. While the steam in the book is amazing, you will also love the story line. I love the way that the character growths also involves the political satire of the time period. This book has so much depth that I am sold on reading everything the author writes. Even though this is the third book in the series, I feel that you could just pick it up and read it. I am going to read the others in the series because I can’t get enough.

The Truth About Myths is book 3 in The Winemakers Series by Giovanna Siniscalchi. In this story, we go along with Viscount Henrique as he is tasked with accompanying Princess Isabel on a trip to Spain. Isabel is Henrique’s best friend’s sister and should certainly be safe from his rakish ways, right? I really love this series. Giovanna has the ability to make even the rakish characters attractive. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Isabel and Henrique. I’m a sucker for opposites attract. This book carried all the beautiful writing and vivid detail that Giovanna’s stories are known for. I adore this series. There is plenty of passion, steaminess, and political intrigue to keep you entertained. Everything is well-balanced.

The Truth About Myths is a historical enemy to lover’s romance tale and the third book in fabulous The Winemakers series.
It is easy to imagine the world and time period as Giovanna writes with rich historical detail, descriptions, and world building, with such passion and in a vibrant style.
This Regency romance is set in Portugal and Spain amongst the Monarchy and court politics, secrets and scheming. This beautiful love story shows the difficulties and struggles they face with their relationship.
There is heartbreak, compassion and passion, tenderness, danger and tension, angst and animosity, chemistry and romance.
I love that it was told in dual POV as we learned so much about these characters and especially Henrique’s rakish ways. Their journey is filled with sense of duty, patriotism, and unexpected twists and turns.
The swoon worthy playboy Viscount Henrique doesn’t believe in love, and he has big dreams, but he is about to be whacked over the head with it. He is witty, charming, sexy and an unapologetic rake. It’s hard not to like him.
Princess Isabel is the epitome of entitled princess. She is a determined, strong and intelligent woman who cares about doing the right thing for women and is about to find out there is much more to life.
I loved their wit, banter, chemistry, and the perfect amount of push pull denial and tension as they learn more about each other. I often found myself laughing at their antics or situations they found themselves in.
I recommend reading this book if you are a fan of historical romance, enemies to lovers, opposites attract forced proximity stories.

Another fantastic read from this author – I absolutely adored this book. from start to finish I was completely captivated by the story and everything that was going on. The authors writing is mesmerising to read at times, full of detail and vivid descriptions of what is happening, I LOVE historical romance but they are usually set in London so I love that I’m reading about a different setting for these books and I love s good enemies to lovers romance so this book ticked everything for me!

The characters Isabel and Henrique were so wonderful to read about they had so much passion and chemistry between them. I loved reading their story. Another huge point for this book is the dual POV which meant we really got to see and understand both of the characters but for me in particular Henrique.

I am really looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future and 100% recommend this book and series!

I have loved the Wine Maker’s Series since I picked up the first one. Each and every one I have read so far has not disappointed. I know that when I pick one of these up I will get a historical fiction novel that will keep me reading long past my bedtime. In this story, we learn more about Isabel and how much she loves her country. However, she had so many expectations placed on her that she really felt like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders. Henrique is an incredibly interesting viscount. Once again, Giovanna has written a story with a love story that is absolutely swoon worthy. I definitely cannot recommend this book, and this whole series. I LOVE this series and I cannot wait for another book to come out.

The Truth About Myths (The Winemakers #3)The Truth About Myths by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Truth About Myths is the 3rd book I’ve read in The Winemaker’s Series and it’s probably falling in 2nd best. Book 2 definitely was my favorite but book 3 is coming in a close 2nd. The author writes wonderful tales about characters dealing with the aftermath of the exile, disaster to the grape vines, their very livelihood.
Henrique is ready to leave Portugal, he has just one last thing to accomplish to make that happen. He needs the king’s signature on the deed to sell his property before being able to leave for London. However the king has other plans. He wants Henrique to escort his sister to Spain, even resorting to blackmail. Unfortunately for Henrique it’s going to be a harder task than he thought. He’s attracted & intrigued by the princess, to the point being around her is sometimes difficult. At the same time he wants to be there.
Isabel wanted to decline, but was encouraged by her brother to go to Spain. To see what’s going on within their government. “Get close and report back” type of thing. What she wasn’t expecting was the man from the garden being her escort. She will do everything to resist him but her body betrays her at times. When she learns the truth that the exiled queen’s son is returning, her anxiety picks up. This can’t be good.
Will his return have something to do with her?
How do Henrique and Isabel handle their attraction to one another?
Those questions and so many more come about throughout this book. I felt like for Isabel this was a story of self discovery, and the author displays that well.
This series is different and gets better as it goes. I encourage everyone to start with book 1, though it reads well as a standalone. I just want everyone to experience the trials and tribulations of all these characters.

The Truth About Myths (The Winemakers)The Truth About Myths by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed the previous books in this series I was looking forward to this third novel and I was not disappointed. I was once again captivated by the authors wonderful writing style and transported back in time, due to the descriptive narrative and added historical details, all of which made me feel immersed in the era and the story. The storyline follows Princess Isabel de Orleans who does her duty for her brother the King and for Portugal, and so travels to Spain to help with a diplomatic crisis. Accompanying Isabel is her brothers best friend, the charming but rakish Henrique, Viscount Penafiel. Henrique believes Isabel’s morals are outdated, and she thinks his philandering ways are shocking, but soon discovers that behind his facade he is a caring man. Their mutual attraction turns to lust, but the sister of Henrique’s best friend and a Princess should be out of his reach.

Once in Spain they meet Alfonso who is a king without a throne and soon the Bourbon is showing great interest in Isabel, threatening Portugal’s independence. This results in Henrique having to take drastic measures to save not only his country but Isabel, and their love. I loved this historical romance set during the 19th-century amongst the opulent monarchy of the time. The story is full of drama, romance, passion, love and lust, and also patriotism. The unexpected plot twists kept me hooked throughout and I was kept happily turning the pages. I loved the main characters, and the chemistry between Isabel and Henrique sizzled off the page leading to some steamy scenes. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop and I felt engaged with them both due to the dual POV storyline. An enjoyable and engaging read, and one which I recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story; I thought the author did a great job of transporting us back in time to the 19th century, exploring the political scenes between Portugal and Spain. I absolutely adored Isabel our Portugal princess. I loved that she had values and standards and she held herself to a high standard, but wasn’t afraid to step in and help the less fortunate. I thought her temperament was a great match for Viscount Henrique and the verbal skirmishes really set the tone for the two of them. The vivid descriptions really make you feel like you are right there with the characters. If you love historical romance and want a story with twists, this is the book for you!

The Truth About Myths (The Winemakers)The Truth About Myths by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Princess Isabel is the sister of the King of Portugal, they have been close throughout their lives while facing whatever came their families way, but the way they coped with all of that was complete opposites on the spectrum. The King became a lad about town, with a group of friends who were the scourge of the men folk on their area of the world, while Isabel went the way of modesty, fidelity and duty and tried to promote these values in her ladies in waiting as well. One day, she is summoned to see her brother where he tells her that he has received an invitation for Isabel to visit a relative in Spain for the summer and as much as she loved her cousin, she does not relish the idea of the company she keeps, so she politely declines, that is until her brother insists that it is more a diplomatic mission than a holiday and this is where duty wins out and Isabel reluctantly agrees.

Meanwhile, one of the Kings group of friends, Henrique, the Viscount of Panafiel, a scientist is about to embark on a journey to England to take a position at one of their top universities, but at the last minute, he is called upon to escort the Princess to Spain and watch over her and albeit he really does not want to go, he is won over by being the only one the King entrusts with the role, so he also reluctantly agrees. When the two meet at the carriages they are to travel in, the two realise that they have been misled by their nearest and dearest as to whom they will be accompanying and this just makes the journey even more unpredictable and in some ways uncomfortable for them both.

As the journey to Spain goes on, the two find themselves drawn to each other and opening up in ways they thought impossible and even though their personalities clash, they enjoy tormenting the other with sharp tongues and sharper wit, but as soon as they reach their hosts, thinks begin to heat up and each finds new experiences and challenges in the other. This however, was not to last when Prince Alfonso of Spain enters the picture and comes in between the two opinionated young aristocrats and this is where things become messy as it appears that the Princesses ideals and sense of duty are used in such a manner that anything which was blooming between her and her escort are threatened and Henrique will do anything to save his Princess and his country, but will he lose everything he is trying to save in the process? This is a historical fiction set in the Mediterranean where emotions run high and politics reign, in this royal romance where appearances can be deceiving and sifting the truth and the lies is almost impossible as you wonder who will triumph in the end.

This is the third in the Winemakers series, this time following the story of Princess Isabel and Viscount Henrique. You don’t necessarily need to read this series to understand the individual stories, but I would certainly recommend reading all of them.
I enjoy the writing style of the author, it flows nicely making for easy reading, but is also descriptive enough to allow you to step into the story living it alongside the characters. The era was clearly researched adding to the realism and enjoyment of the story.
I enjoyed the characters; well written and believable I was rooting for their success at every turn, especially given the pair’s increasing chemistry.
Isabel is a ‘proper’ young princess with a strong moral compass determined to do her duty. She is determined to do what’s right. She came out of her sheltered upbringing quickly and coped with the challenges she faced with strength and determination which I admired.
There was something about Henrique which I found particularly charming, and I thoroughly enjoyed that there was more to him than meets the eye.
I look forward to discovering more from this author!

First, can we just take a minute of really appreciate this gorgeous cover- so beautiful and romantic.
The Truth About Myths is the third book in The Winemakers series by Giovanna Siniscalchi. As with the rest of the series, this is primarily an historical romance with a bit of an enemies to lovers element, secrets, agendas, pushing boundaries and proprieties of the day, politics, duty/responsibility/obligations/expectation, emotions, mystery, cultural details, chemistry, spice, and a touch of danger.
Even though it is the third book in the series, it could be read as a standalone if you wanted, without feeling like you are missing anything, as each book in the series follows different MC’s. But having said that, the individual stories are really wonderful in their own right, and well worth the read, too.
Again, this book has such a unique identity and flair that sets it apart from others in the same genre. Set in Portugal in the 1870’s, the author sets the scene beautifully as she expertly weaves a tale that transported me through time and space. Her writing is rich, vibrant, detailed and descriptive- which made this book a joy to read.
Looking forward to more from this talented author!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Giovanna Siniscalchi!

This book is romantic, funny, and a wee bit spicy! Even though this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone. I’ve not been disappointed by a book from this author!! Looking forward to more!

Stories are the very fabric of life. I want to transport readers to exotic settings, where they can find romance and happy endings and hopefully bring some back to their daily lives. Portugal brims with beauty and passion, and I research every tiny detail of my novels, hoping to make the reader treasure my grandparents’ country as I do. I have a loving husband who still is my hero and two amazing kids. When it’s cold and rainy, I run inside to read and watch movies under blankets, sipping wine. You can find me on the beach during summer, surfing with my family.
