Flash Point (Nite Fire, #1)Flash Point by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! I’m blown away at the world building in this book. The author has created a very realistic dragon world. I also want to add that the violence and gore are very realistic and described to the point I can see it. Extremely well written! Dahlia is tough and gifted, making her perfect to protect the human world. Loved the great characters! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

Red's Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez (Satan's Devils MC Vegas #1)Red’s Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read many of Manda Mellett’s books, and this one does not disappoint. Her depth in her characters and interesting plot always has me returning. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors. At the beginning, Red was at a crossroads. The book opened with his father’s death, and him putting in a two-week notice. We’ve all been there – time for a change, and it’s quite the change too. He headed across the country and landed with the Satan’s Devils. Red has a complexity that makes him interesting. His life felt like he had just been surviving. So glad Red has his own book, two in fact. Another great book from Manda Mellett! Looking forward to the second book!

This is a great second chance story. I actually wasn’t crazy about Cade at first, but as things progressed he redeemed himself in my eyes. I was feeling Winter’s angst along with her. I am enjoying the world that the author has created. Looking forward to the future stories in this series!

I loved watching this relationship play out as well. I felt like characters were realistic and that the way romance unfolded was realistic. My first book by this author, but def won’t be my last. So it wasn’t the plot or the characters that grabbed me in this book – it was the hilarious writing. I love this author’s sense of humor. The way she spins the story is entertaining, but the inner dialogue of Emme is my favorite thing about this book. My favorite line is “I’ve seen dogs chase the mail carrier with more dignity.” I enjoyed this book immensely!! Keep writing with your great style – I love it!

To say I didn’t want to put it down is an understatement. It has great characters, great action, and great plot line. Gemma comes across kind of superficial at first, but she grew on me as book went on. A few twists in this story that I actually didn’t see coming so that was fun. Needless to say I will be reading other books in the series!

Wild Desire is a paranormal shifter novel where the shifters were different than what you would normally expect. I still enjoyed the shifter aspect, and how she brought it out in the story. Mila has returned home years after her parents’ death. Immediately you know she is in danger. Atmosphere was well done as well as character development. I loved the twists in this story. Whew, I’m blown away! That cover drew me in, not going to lie. Don’t judge a book by its cover usually, but with this one – sure. Expertly written, I could not put it down. The atmosphere at the cottage, when the dream stuff is coming thru the barrier – I felt like I was there. I’m a sucker for great atmosphere, and Morrow knows how to create it. I love how the romance is represented in this book where they fall in love with the soul instead of pretty face. It came across as real and deep. This book is based on fairy tale of Cinderella, but def for an eighteen and older. I love the symbols in this book as well. I’m looking forward to the next story!!

Scarlet Princess (The Lochlann Feuds, #1)Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Scarlet Princess opened up with one of my favorite opening lines of all time, “Death was a hefty price to pay for vodka.” The prologue was not even a page long, and I already knew I was going to love this book. It also has one of my favorite lines of all time later on, “I didn’t want the kind of love that could break you.” Robin & Elle, you have become some of my favorite authors, just like that. Princess Rowan is one of those heroines that you love instantly, even when you know she is gonna pay for what she just said. I had no trouble slipping into this character’s pov. Lord Theo slowly grows on you. For some reason, Jude Law’s face kept coming up as Theo in my head. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this story, the created world, the characters, and the writing style. It was wonderfully done.

First, I just want to say this is one of the most entertaining opening scenes I’ve ever read. I could literally see this scene played out in my head. I like the interaction between Kayla and Tanner. I found myself laughing out loud at their dialogue. Refreshingly real. When the ex (her baby’s daddy) enters the picture, I think every mom can sympathize with her here. Being torn between the fact that they have a kid together vs his reoccurring pattern. Even when logically clear, it gets emotionally blurry. A wonderful story single moms need to read who feel like they don’t have time to date. This was my first book from this author and so glad for this introduction to her writing style! She has lived a privileged life with her father maintaining everything for her. Suddenly, her father gets in trouble, and she has to figure things out quickly – in fact it’s pretty bad. I was kind of caught off guard with just how bad. You def sit up and get worried about this girl who really doesn’t know how to take care of herself. The book takes off from page one and it doesn’t let you go. I love the action. I love the romance. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like being in Emery’s head, but she is a caring person even though she grew up privileged. Hawke and Caine’s childhoods will break your heart. Matthew, Julia, and Dan continue being a force to be reckoned with, fighting for the good side. I really loved seeing Matthew and Julia’s relationship deepen and actually have an impact on their quest. Not to put in any spoilers, but I will admit that there were a few times I was on the edge of my seat about a few characters’ welfares. The villain is a true villain as you can’t stand him in the story. Be prepared to delve into a multi-universe with these books. Thank you to the author for a wonderful sci-fi world.

Niran and Saffie’s story continues in this book with Saffie’s ordeal continuing as well. Duke, her abusive husband, still after her we are hit with the realization that yes this is what it feels like. Women in this situation feel like they will never be free from the abuse. Manda does a great job of bringing these kinds of situations to light. I loved seeing the relationship go a bit slower having started a little different and progress. I love the world building done in this series that started with Lost – who is epic by the way. Great romance, great abuse survival story, and great characters!!

I’ll be honest, I loved the other books in this series so much, I was prepared for this book to be a letdown. After reading summary, I just didn’t think it was going to have the appeal of the first book. I liked Niran in those books, but his personality is kind of low key. Man, was I wrong. Saffie’s story had me at the first page. It grabbed my heartstrings and did not let go. It isn’t easy to write a character that is hated by end of first chapter, but you did it Manda. You will love Niran and be cheering on Saffie by the end of the book. Not only those two, but the secondary characters are amazing as well. Some of them you will meet if you start at book one.

I immediately looked up the other books in the series. She has a couple of series that overlap. So I have already started the other series. First, the hero is on the villain’s side in this world of half-human half-dragon beings we are introduced to. He knows what’s going down, and he is having issues with it. Especially when one of the kidnapped females has caught his attention. Natalie is a spunky heroine who takes her fate into her own hands.
