I have to say that I wasn’t expecting the way this book was. It made me keep reading because I really needed to know what was going on with this little girl. It’s like charlotte’s web meets the thing, just no pigs. This book is from the missy’s point of view, who is a 5-year-old little girl. At first you wonder if she has a very over imaginative imagination, but when unexpected “accidents happen, missy desperately tries to make it right. This book was filled with horror, suspense, murder, tragedy, vivid detail, amazing writing, creepy vibes, that I couldn’t put it down. If you would like to have a few nightmares for a few days, love horror and spiders this book is for you. I absolutely loved this book. And the edge of the seat terror it brought that I couldn’t put it down.

I picked up this book as soon as I saw the cover and after reading the synopsis, I KNEW I had found a good one! I’m beyond excited that I didn’t miss out on this and hope to see much more from this author.

While normally people think of imaginary friends as cute and ordinary, 5-year-old Missy is about to flip your world upside down. She has a wonderful imaginary friend named Fred, and he likes to be perked on her shoulder. Did I mention Fred is a spider?! Missy sees spiders everywhere and while this would creep me out, her parents seem to think it’s just a phase. But when people start dying in mysterious circumstances, is Missy or Fred to blame?

I could NOT read this book fast enough! I plowed through it with minimal pauses, and I highly recommend picking this up. Full of creepy crawlies, horror, and plenty of action, you won’t be able to put it down!

Five year old Missy loves spiders, she sees them everywhere, they follow her everywhere, more than she can count. She even has an “imaginary” pet tarantula named Fred. She insists the eight legged creatures she sees are real but no one believes her until people start dying.
This is a book that will keep you up at night and jump from the slightest touch! I really enjoyed this unique read! Hawkins creates a world that is as creepy as it is mesmerizing. The fact that we, as the reader, are experiencing this from the perspective of a five year old makes this story even more horrifying. This book truly gave me goosebumps. Missy, Fred, and their spider friends have ensured that I will be terrified of spiders for the rest of my life. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good scare!

O.M.G! Let me start this by saying I was terrified of spiders before reading this book! I didn’t think it was possible to be more scared of them, but after finishing this book in one day, it has happened. I’ve seen 3 spiders since finishing the book and have darn near had a panic attack! Needless to say I loved this story! Yes it freaked me out but when a work of fiction can cause such a reaction in reality, it’s definitely a 5 star book. I felt so much empathy for Missy. She was so strong and had to deal with so much for being so young. I can only imagine the therapy she would have had to go through as an adult. Highly recommend this read!

Brilliant spidey thriller!

This is gripping and edge of your seat thrilling. The author weaves an intricate web of intrigue as Missy navigates her ‘friendship’ with Fred and realises there’s more to it than she first thought. This had me gasping out loud, skin crawling and heart racing it was that well written. Makes you start to question whether children’s imaginary friends are really ‘imaginary’. If you’re looking for a terrifyingly good read, look no further.

I knew I was on to a good book when even the description got my heart racing. I knew right away that I had to read this book because I had to know what was going on. This book was creepy and had me on the edge of my seat in a way that only good horror does. I think it was made more tense by the fact that it was all told from a 5 year old perspective.
This is a completely new author to me and I loved reading their work. It was exciting in a way that I haven’t found in a book recently. I cannot wait to read more from them soon!

Ok where to start with this story. I enjoyed it because I was scared by it. It involved my worst fear spiders and I must admit its definitely not made me like them any more.
But it was so well written and the story was full of so many twists and turns that there was no way i was putting it down.
Add to this the fact it was Halloween and it was the perfect book to read.

Missy is a 5 year old little girl. Like some 5 year old she had an imaginary called Fred. And Fred is a spider. Like all imaginary friends no one can see him so everyone around Missy doesn’t believe he’s real.
That is until strange thing start happening when Fred is supposedly around. Things that become dangerous.
When Missy starts to realise Fred isn’t who or what she thought she needs to figure out a way to stop him. But how can a 5 year old do that?
This is a really good read that will make you question every brush of air against your skin

I can’t believe I read this book due to my own arachnophobia. The point of view from the spider, Fred, is interesting and makes a unique character. Compassionate almost, and yet part monster that one would expect from a vampire longing to feed off of a chosen victim. Missy’s POV, shows the childlike innocence for a five year old and her favorite animal the spider (even though a spider isn’t an animal). If adults could see the size of Fred they would freak out. I know it made my skin crawl! It’s a highly unique imaginary friend to have. She’s a spunky kindergartener with a special friend. The story gets better from there and great plot for a story!

If horror is up your alley, you should definitely read this book!
Missy is five and has a rather unusual imaginary friend, or so her parents think Fred is imaginary. Missy has a love for spiders that is border line creepy anyways but then people start dying.
Find out what Fred really is and all is the trials and tribulations that Missy has to go through.
I definitely recommend, this was such a great book!!

I enjoyed reading this horror story. It is full of twists and turns that had me sitting on the edge of my seat. The suspense is like no other. This is a well written story about a little girl who has an imaginary friend and no one believes her when bad things start happening. You don’t want to miss what happens with Missy and her horrifying imaginary friend. I enjoyed how I was pulled into the story by the author’s use of details to make me feel as if I was part of the story. This is a shorter story but it packs a lot of action and horror in it. I enjoyed the growth of the plot and what Missy and her friend brought to the story. I highly recommend this book.

So, when I started reading Spidersight I immediately thought of the story Drop Dead Fred with its imaginary friend. BUT I quickly moved on from that to something that makes you shiver and every soft sweep over your skin has you slapping yourself to remove any unwanted crawlies. Tirzah gives a vivid picture where not everything is as it seems!!

This short tale is a mixture of sweet and creepy. It is told from a five-year old’s POV which did not really reflect well in the writing once you get over that it is not a bad read.

This was an interesting debut horror novel from this author that I am sure many will enjoy.

I live for anything to do with horror, but this one greatly surpassed what I had hoped for. Spiders, a creepy allure, stunning writing, holy cow, I fell in love so easily with this book and author! Perfect October read!

Now, I do love a good horror read, but this one certainly fueled some of my worst fears…spiders. Needless to say this was a book well wroth a read. It was a must read. The book horrified me at scenes, and intrigued me to wanting more at the same time I enjoyed the story and the plot. If you love horror, then no longer look no further, because you have found your match! I loved the book being told from Missy’s perspective. A child’s mind is unlike an adult, so when Fred comes to show what he is really all about, the feelings Missy felt and her fear, was greatly valid. I loved the horror and creepiness this book gave off. I loved her supportive dad as well. The spiders, the scary stuff, the deaths, the writing was exceptional! Amazing read! I truly loved it!

A perfect horrific read with all the elements you would hope in a book that would rattle your bones, your mind, and make you want to check behind you as you read Highly recommend this must read book!

OMG! Spiders creep me out sooooo bad!!! As did this book lol. It took quite a bit of fortitude on my part to even pick up this book to read. I am an arachnophobe from way back. But being as it is spooky season, and as an attempt to push myself out of my comfort zone- I grabbed a copy and carefully opened the cover with my eyes half closed. But let me tell you, it didn’t take long before they were fully opened.
Spidersight by Tirzah M.M. Hawkins turned out to be the perfect spooky season read. A creature horror with a wonderfully creepy, scary, and suspenseful plot.
I will never contemplate the idea of childhood imaginary friends the same way, ever again. This was such a chilling story to read and definitely creeped me out good and proper. The idea that a child’s imaginary friend could turn out to be so sinister, evil, and twisted. And did I mention, SPIDERS- everywhere!!!!!! Just about broke out in cold sweats in parts. Confession- some parts might have been read through small gaps between my fingers as I held my hands over my eyes.
The premise was clever- weave in a five-year-old child, her imaginary friend who definitely isn’t so make-believe, then add in the SPIDER element, plenty of danger, murder, agendas, mystery, dread, a pervading sense of hopelessness, a rather large helping of fear, some tragedy, and lots of heat-pounding developments- made the story quite the twisted tale.
There were a few small issues with the story, for me, where the dialogue felt a little ‘off’, and where some scenes/bits didn’t seem to be in keeping with the rest of the storyline- but these factors didn’t detract too much from my overall reading experience.
I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more stories from this author in the future.
If you love creature horror, or are simply looking for a creepy story to read, or a twisted tale to put you in the mood for spooky season- then this is definitely the book for you.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Tirzah M.M. Hawkins!

I’m all for horror books! Especially ones that give you the creepy crawlies! This story is written from the perspective of a little girl named Missy that has a very unique friend not everyone can see. Little does she know how dangerous this friend can be. Things really get out of hand and there may not be anyone that can help free her from this friend. This doesn’t stop her dad from doing everything he can to set her free. This story will have you checking your surroundings for little eight legged followers. I really enjoyed this authors easy writing style and forward to more of their books!

WOW this book was super spooky!! This was the first book that I have read by this author, and I was HOOKED! The story is in the point of view from the daughter Missy, who has an imaginary friend named Fred. Fred is a giant spider that has slowly grown in size who, in Missy’s mind is a friend who turns out to be the complete opposite. Not only can Missy see Fred, who sleeps with her, but she sees swarms of hundreds and hundreds of spiders. She is the only one who can see them. As Fred gets bigger, the smaller spiders start lashing out at people and this is when people start dying. This was such a great written book, and I could not put this down. If you are looking for the next great horror novel to read this is IT!! I cannot wait to read more books by this author.

Five year old Missy has a friend, one no one can see despite her efforts to point Fred out. Fred is an unusual friend though as he is a spider and despite Missy thinking he is sweet, he is nothing but. What happens when the people around Missy start dying though, couldn’t possibly be Fred could it?

This one definitely gave me the heebie jeebies. Very well told horror story that your not sure how its going to play out. It had all the elements that make a great horror story stand out. I thought this was very entertaining.

Spidersight has a subtle creepiness that doesn’t leave the story. It is set in a five year old point of view so its easy to understand and ups the creepy factor. It is believable that Missy is playing make believe that she can see spiders that no one else can, I mean who hasn’t had an imaginary friend? Things get real once Missy finally discovers what Fred eats. It seems like there is no way out of her unfortunate situation. I couldn’t put this book down because I had to know how it ends!

*shudder* This book is creepy, gave me nightmares, and is sooo good. I’m a huge fan of horror and have arachnophobia. I knew going it what it was about and had to read it. A demon spider and a little girl trapped. The writing is superb. The characters are written to give the write amount of creepiness. I haven’t been this creeped out since Cujo or Night Shift. Well done, author. This is a must read for horror lovers. New author to me and now a new fan.
