What a brilliant read to end the year of with ! It literally was a gift that came my way for which I’m most grateful for ❣️📚

Marcie is a bit of a nomad if you like , no real home but she housesits/petsits for a living and when she’s not doing that she’ll crash with a friend or long stay hotels ,a loner with no family and that makes her the ideal candidate for our psycho serial killer …..

Marcie has a good heart and her love for animals speaks volumes of her character but again she’s vulnerable and an easy target and that’s exactly why our killer chose her but fear not our TDH Ted will come to her rescue and let me tell you he’s hotter than a cup of delicious hot chocolate in the winter 🔥

I loved how Ted just knew something was off ( other than the creepy elf ) and went full on protector mode but he’s been like that with Marcie from the moment they met ❣️ our 4 legged friends Ginger and Ace won my heart 🐾🥰

I’m not sure who I dislike the most , the creepy elf , Zeke the psycho or Beverly the entitled , selfish , self centred waste of space ?!

There was enough tension to keep me on the edge of my seat and this was written in a way that said alit but nothing at all , meaning I’ve got a picture mind and the writing style lets your mind wander which I think is absolutely brilliant! Again a brilliant way to end my reading year 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This story was AMAZING. I was INSTANTLY hooked. I was thrown at first because I thought that Beverly was the main focus, and I did NOT like her… Thankfully Marcie was the main focus of the book and she was AWESOME. A sweet soul, an animal lover, the kid of girl you just knew you’d be friends with it you met her at a coffee shop… And I was instantly distrusting of Zeke, maybe because of the way he was with Beverly, I just instantly didn’t trust him. But goodness this story has some drama. If you love a good romance, with some drama and suspense and military stuff mixed in… You’ll LOVE this book. I absolutely recommend it. SO MUCH! Debra Parmley has definitely done something amazing with this story. Can’t wait to read more from her.

This is the first book I have read by this author. It was definitely not what you expect, but in a good way! The characters are well written and there are plenty of what the heck moments to keep you hooked. I really enjoyed Marcie and Ted. If you want a twisted Elf on the Shelf kind of story, definitely give this one a shot.

This was the first book I read by this author. It was not what I was expecting when I first picked it up. It was definitely a page turner for sure! I read it in one night! I was not a fan of a couple of characters but really liked Marcie. Then she meets Ted which ends up being the hero of the story. I cannot believe the twist that came in the story and was not expecting it to go that far! I will be looking for more books by this author in the future!!

This book begins with Zeke and Beverly walking when he spots the best elf for Beverly to enter into the contest. Beverly decides she hates it because it’s an antique. She hates all antiques because they’re old and smelly.

Zeke ends up purchasing the elf without her knowledge and with a secret plan. He then convinces Beverly to hire Marcie as their dog and house sitter so he can spy on her through the elf.

Marcie later meets Ted, who moves in next door and there is instantly a spark between them.

If you’re looking for a cute holiday themed romance novel, this is for you. There’s a little mystery, a little romance. Perfect for everyone.

To Catch An Elf by Debra Parmley was not what I expected at all. It was an interesting story with romance and suspense. The characters were developed pretty well and painted a fairly strong picture of each character. As the story went on, I was drawn in more and more. I did feel that the ending was rushed, but overall, the story was good. The elf and Zeke definitely brought the creepy element to the story, but I really loved the romantic storyline between Marcie and Ted.

I agreed to read this book, without knowing anything except the title. Honestly, I thought I was going to be reading a quick little children’s book. Imagine my surprise when I saw the cover! This was an amazing book! It was full of mystery, romance, and suspense. At the same time, it was not graphic. The story did not open with the viewpoint of a protagonist, or a neutral viewpoint, but rather from the viewpoint of the antagonist. There was humor mixed in throughout the book. And who can resist the antics of beloved canine characters?

To Catch An Elf is a wonderfully fast paced novel that is filled with suspense. It features an elf and a not so nice guy. In addition, there is an incredibly swoon worthy fighter pilot and a dog sitter. This book is well written with an interesting plot and well developed characters. The suspense is just right and it keeps the reader interested to find out how the situation with the elf resolves itself. I definitely recommend picking this story up!

I’ve read a few books by this author and this one has been my favorite so far! It is incredibly suspenseful, and the flow of the story is great. I couldn’t read fast enough because I had to know what happened, and I read it all in one sitting. Reading about Ted and Marcie’s relationship is entertaining, but adding in their chemistry and the danger that could keep them apart takes it to the next level. If you like the romance genre with bountiful suspense intertwined, this is your next read!

This was a great book for me to take home over Christmas. There were many elements I enjoyed – not only the typical holiday romance, but also the danger and suspenseful elements which come along with the kidnapping. I was gripped almost immediately by the absurdity of the elf and when everything else starts coming together I was blown away.
Marcie’s latest job also seems to require her to complete a list of tasks with an old elf. This is just the beginning of the strange things about this job, but I won’t give any spoilers. When Marcie and Ted meet and there’s instant chemistry, so they pursue this connection and you get all the feels. But there’s still a lot left in the story, so you know something is about to go down! I could not put this down until I knew what was going to happen. I was too invested.
When Ted returns from a family event, Marcie has seemingly disappeared and so Ted begins to put things together. And so begin the twists that lead to the answers around this mystery elf and all the strange happenings.
Festive but action packed, I loved it! It was well written and the development and set up was subtle but worked so well. The darker side was balanced so well with the lighter holiday romance and it was right up my alley. I love the darker twisted stuff but also love the cheesey holiday romances, so combine the two and it was just what I wanted!

Marcie Hayes is a young woman with a nomadic lifestyle, she moves from place to place so that she can work as an in-home dog sitter where she temporarily moves into a client’s house so that she can look after their dog while they are on holiday, and she loves it. Normally she thoroughly checks out her clients beforehand, however, a last-minute offer in the Pocono Mountains has her changing her routine, including following the instructions left by the owner, however, in this case, she is having trouble with it because of her slightly rebellious nature and the ridiculous demands within it.

These demands include a creepy antique elf which must be posed every day in certain ways so that the owner can enter an online contest, but Marcie is not impressed and decides to do it but change things up slightly if circumstances lead to a better opportunity. While she is not happy about the elf, she is more than happy with the dog, a loveable King Charles Spaniel who loves nothing more than cuddles and walks, as long as the elf is nowhere in sight.

As the days pass, Marcie meets another resident, a tall, dark and handsome man called Ted, an RAF Pilot who also owns a dog and they are immediately attracted to one another, the connection is strong and even better, the dogs get along too and as they spend more time together, the flirting and chemistry heighten, but when Ted has to go away to a wedding, leaving Marcie home alone with the dogs, she suddenly goes quiet and Ted has a bad feeling.

When he returns to the Mountains, his worst fears come to fruition when he finds that Marcie may have been abducted, but he is determined to get her back, but will he be able to do this in time and find the breadcrumbs leading to her, or will Marcie become as lifeless as the antique elf before he can? This is a festive romance with a dash of danger, as this sweet romance turns into a race against time to rescue a damsel in distress by her knight in shining armour.

This book has it all. A little romance, suspense, thriller, and smiles. I was caught between wanting to binge read the entire thing and wanting to put it down so that I could take my time reading it.
From the very start I enjoyed reading about Marcie and was so excited when she found Ted. Beverly is annoying and Zeke is just a creep. As the story goes on, those feelings only intensified.
A great read! I enjoyed it and will be putting more Debra Parmley books on my TBR list for sure!

This book was nothing like what I had expected from my first impressions upon seeing the cover. I was expecting a sweet romance between the two characters featured and wasn’t exactly sure how a creepy-looking elf that looked a little like our main character, Marcie, would play into their romance, but this book offered me this and so much more!!! I was so excited when I started reading and realized it was going to take a dark twist that I was not expecting at all! This book had everything I could want and more, a budding Christmas romance, a beautiful wedding (not for our main characters), an overbearing privileged homeowner who had an adorable dog needing love and care, a sweet innocent house and dog sitter for December, and a super creepy elf that feels like it’s watching Marcie’s every move. Add to the mix a cute new neighbor, Ted, with a friendly dog of his own and we’ve got a great mix of characters to make a very interesting story. Oh, but don’t forget the homeowner’s weird boyfriend who brings Marcie into the mix, by recommending her to be the house sitter, who also is the person who gifted the elf to his girlfriend, the homeowner. The elf was to be Marcie’s biggest priority during her house sitting, even more, important than taking care of the sweet dog, with a list of daily tasks she had to take photos of, that were listed out down to the finite detail, including a bubble bath with the creepy elf…you’ll want to pick up this book to see how this all turns out because something was not right about this house sitting job. This book was awesome, it’s got romance, intrigue, drama, violence, and a super creepy elf doll who seems to watch your every move.

I enjoy this author but To Catch an Elf wasn’t one of my favorites. I wasn’t sure what was going on at first, which made it hard to push forward but I did. It got better and the romance was definitely exciting. That part of the story was written and developed well. Once I figured out what was going on, the growth of the villain in this story was interesting. He definitely escalated quicker than expected which made the story seem a little rushed. Overall it wasn’t my cup of tea but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be yours. It doesn’t take away from what the author presented or even how I feel about this author. The romance was great, the crazy stalker for me needed better development.
Marcie jumps from house to house. House/pet sitting. She has no family and a small group of friends in her home port of Ohio, but she has no real roots anywhere. When she took this job in the Poconos she never expected it would change her life in so many ways.
Ted is getting ready to settle down and get on with life, after retiring from the air force. He starts by buying a house in the Poconos, not a permanent residence but it’s a start. Him and his dog Ace come across this beautiful girl Marcie and that was all she wrote. He wanted to get to know her. Which is exactly what he did!
Can he get her to settle down?
How does he handle her being in danger?
Many questions. Most of them answered. Again the author presented an interesting story. Which had its ups and downs. I loved the Ted and Marcie dynamic. It was the danger lurking that could’ve been better polished.
If you like a great love with a little danger, that includes ex-military. Jump on in!
I’m going to look for the next book by this author.

This has to be the Everything story of the year! I loved it! Marcie has been hired to dog sit a King Charles Spaniel. Easy right? Wrong, she not only cares for the dog. She also has to take pictures of the antique elf doing different crazy things. Send it in to the contest and remember to keep track of events. Again, easy? Nope, she meets Ted Barrett, an Air Force Pilot. That is where things heat up as romance is in the air. Until Marcie goes missing. Will Ted find her in time? That is all I am going to say about this incredible story. The author has written a rollercoaster of suspense and romance. The characters are funny as well as serious, they sure kept me intrigued. I had to keep turning pages as I could not put it down. There is so much to discover in this story. While ‘To Catch an Elf’ seemed like just a holiday story it turned out to be so much more. It is a romantic suspense novel concentrating on two main characters Marcie and Ted, you also have Zeke and Brittany, there was lots of drama, intrigue, suspense, and dogs, which are all the elements for a pretty great novel, along with a pretty creepy elf. If that sounds like your cup of tea then you should give this quick, slightly steamy novel a try.

To Catch An Elf is a Romantic Suspense that will have you turning the pages till the end. This may be a short story but its packed with drama, suspense, secrets, stalkers, antique elf and so much more. The authors style of writing and attention to detail along with creative yet fully developed characters make for a great story. There’s enough suspense and a twist here and there to keep you on edge. This is Marcie and Tim’s story. She’s a dog sitter and is house sitting for Beverly while she’s gone for the holiday. But she’s not just house sitting and watching over Ginger she finds a note with instructions for the elf. Marcie isn’t impressed with the creepy elf and ginger doesn’t care for it either. Then there’s Ted the hunky neighbor who is interesting as well. She finds herself wanting to get to know him Tim is Air Force Fighter Pilot and sexy-as-sin. These have chemistry and there’s definitely attraction. But what will happen when weird stuff starts happening at the house Marcie is house sitting at? What happens when Marcie comes up missing? Can Ted find her before its to late? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next? I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

An enjoyable and entertaining story which had me hooked throughout. What appeared to be a simple Christmas romance novel turned out to be much more. The intriguing storyline was full of drama, suspense, creepy Elf’s and of course romance. Marcie Hayes is house sitting in the Pocono Mountains whilst she dog sits Ginger. Thinking this will be a simple job, she’s a bit confused by the owner’s instructions to take daily pictures of a rather creepy looking antique Christmas elf, but apparently they will be entered into the online ‘Big Busiest Christmas Elf Contest’. Meanwhile, Ted Barrett an Air Force fighter pilot and his dog Ace are also in the Pocono Mountains, whilst he sets up his new house.
When Marcie and Ted meet whilst walking the dogs, they have instant chemistry and start dating. However, Ted then has to leave to go to his brother’s wedding, and he becomes concerned when Marcie stops answering his messages. When he returns he realises that she’s actually been taken but doesn’t know who would take her or why. Ted’s determined to find Marcie and he finds his first clue as to what happened to her, when Ginger attacks the creepy Elf. The characters and the setting were brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative, and I felt as though I was in the Pocono Mountains along with Ted and Marcie. The chemistry between them sizzled off the page and I loved how their relationship developed throughout the story. I found this to be a real page turner and one which I couldn’t put down.

This book was not what I was expecting but I really enjoyed it. I was expecting a holiday romance and was confused at first about the antique elf but it all makes sense. There is a holiday romance and plenty of it however there is also danger, Suspense, a kidnapping, a stalker and plenty more. I was hooked from the beginning by the strange elf and the weird list of tasks it has to do and then things just got more and more strange.

Marcie Hayes has taken the job of dog/house sitter what she didn’t expect to be dealing with is a strange elf. When the home owner leaves her a list of tasks to do with the elf she thinks the owner is made. But that’s not the only strange thing. Why does she need to leave the key under the mat for the cleaning people?
Just putting it down to the homeowners weirdness she set about her job of taking care of the dog and house.
When she’s out one day she meets Ted Barrett and the connection is instant. As the couple get to know each other and start dating Ted has to leave for a family wedding but he’s happy that Marcie will be there when he returns.

Imagine his shock when she isn’t. Marcie has disappeared.
When she finds herself kidnapped she preys that Ted will look for her. Will he look for her or will he just think she isn’t interested and not bother?

With the twists and turns, uncovering the reason why she was taken and by who and also the ancient Elf this is a festive story that will keep you gripped to the edge of your seat.
