This book was just the perfect length to give me a good read on a late night. I enjoyed the island’s beauty that the friends went to on their vacation, it sounds like a great place to meet up with other singles or just honeymoon with your sweetheart. The characters were wonderfully developed and helped to portray the feelings of such sorrow and confusion for our main character who was left at the altar. It allowed me to connect with his mindset and was happy that his best friend and travel agent were able to convince him to go on the trip together. There were so many surprises that I had not expected but was very happy to get a good ending with all of the questions being answered. I love that in the end, everyone gets what they deserve. What a great romance story with a great moral to always be careful of those you trust.

I enjoyed Tropic Heat. It was fun. Steamy and interesting. I really liked Daniel. He is a stand up guy. The Claire story was unexpected. Definitely a good read. Weird that on flamingo island there aren’t any flamingos though, maybe one of the other books will explain why.

I always love getting to check out stories by this author; this was such a fun and quick read! I thought the friendship between our main character Daniel and his best man Joey was absolutely delightful and extremely hilarious. I thought Joey was a great influence in getting Daniel to break out of his comfort zone, giving him the opportunity to meet Sara. After a one night stand, they have to decide what they want things to look like for their future. Was this a one-time thing, or could it be more? As always there are some twists and turns and a bit of drama until we reach the end. I really enjoyed all of the different characters and I thought the author did a great job of making me really care about what was going to happen to them.

This enjoyable, fun romantic comedy kept me happily turning the pages, and had me wishing I had a ticket to the Flamingo Island Resort! Jilted groom Daniel and his best mate Joey decide to go on honeymoon together, and use the expensive, non-refundable tickets to the exclusive Flamingo Island Resort. Joey tries to convince Daniel that in order to get over being jilted he needs to have fun with another women. However, it’s not until he meets Sara that he starts to agree and have fun. Daniel and Joey are looking forward to a trip of a lifetime, but I don’t think they were expecting the trip they got! Although this is a fairly quick read as it’s a short novella, the storyline has plenty of drama, suspense, fun, and of course romance. I loved the characters and I really enjoyed this lighthearted and heartwarming romance which also had plenty of steamy scenes.

I truly enjoy picking up books by this author! This was such a fun read about second chances. Daniel was ready to marry the love of his life, Claire, but she left him at the altar without any hint of what went wrong. Instead of waste the nonrefundable honeymoon tickets, his best friend suggested they go together and have a blast. He wasn’t expecting to hit it off with someone so quickly. I found the flow of the story had a few bumps here and there that made it harder to find my groove. If you’re looking for a quick romantic comedy to make you laugh, this is the next read for you!

I enjoyed this quick read. This author never fails to impress me. It is a steamy read with a twist I definately didn’t see coming but I loved.

Daniel was jilted at the alter. With his honeymoon being non refundable he decides to go with his best friend Joey. Surely it’s a good way to heal a broken heart, sun, drink and women.
At first Daniel wasn’t sure on the women part until he met Sara.
However Sara isn’t all she seems to be and when the runaway bride makes an appearance as well Daniel is left reeling as lies and deceit come to light in ways he never expected.
The question is was one night of passion enough for Daniel to forgive and move forward with Sara or would he want to forget it ever happened.

Being left at the altar on his wedding day, Daniel and his best friend decide to use their honeymoon tickets anyways.
We meet Sara who is on a mission in more ways than one and sets her hungry eyes on Daniel.
With some quick twists and turns, the island feels like a really small world.
Easy afternoon read.

This seems like a fun series following different people and flamingo Island written by different authors.

Tropic Heat is part of the Flamingo Island Series. It is a romantic comedy with love, loss, romance, humor, witty banter, hijinks, and chemistry. The story centers around the main character of Daniel who was left at the alter by his fiancée, Claire. He feels embarrassed that his family and friends have seen him jilted by the love of his life. Thankfully, he has his best friend Joey who suggests that the two of them take the honeymoon together and not waste the non-refundable tickets. Joey tells Daniel that the best way to leave behind the stress and embarrassment is to go and party, find some girls, and have fun. After drinking too much Daniel ends up in a one-night stand with a girl he meets named Sara. Sara is there to enjoy herself and is ready for change in her life. What neither Daniel nor Sara expect is to find their one-night stand turn into something more. A great read about fate and finding love at the most unexpected time. Love the characters and found my heart going out to Daniel for being left at the alter by the love of his life. I was hoping that he would find happiness and was pleased that he met Sara because she seemed like the perfect match for him. Love this author’s writing style and the humor throughout the book.

Quick, but entertaining. My only wish is that there could have been a couple more chapters to really cement in the romance feel. However, from the way it ended, there may be more story coming.
I loved the turtle. If the story does continue, I hope they visit him again. And I’d love to learn more about Joey. I actually have hopes that things go a certain way with him.
Overall, great read!

Daniel is a jilted groom not knowing what to do with the very expensive non-refundable honeymoon, when his best friend convinces him to get over this heartache is to get drunk, find some girls and have fun. So as they arrive at the resort they get swept away in the fun spirit and too much alcohol and Daniel ends ups up in a one-night stand.

Sara is there just chilling, super charged and ready for action, when a handsome man catches her eye at check-in she is for fun and adventure but being in a romantic setting on your on is no fun so when she arrives at the hotel bar and said man arrives they strike up a conversation and before they know it they are in her room having fun, but what will happen in the morning?

This is a short, funny, romantic novella and will have you laughing out loud with some of the antics of both Joey, the best friend of Daniel, Sara and Daniel himself. With mischief and alcohol will this end happily ever after. The story is faced paced and although you see Daniel at his worst at the beginning of the book you end up routing for him to have happiness at the end.

Although a Novella this is definitely not a short change book and has the feel of a longer novel within the writing and the development of the characters, if you are looking for a quick coffee break read with romance and comedy this is the book for you.

When left at the altar with a nonrefundable honeymoon package Daniel takes his best friend’s advice and they take the vacation. Even the honeymoon trip fails to go planned for Daniel and Joey.
Tropic Heat is a quick read with classic rom-com vibes. It’s easy to read and is entertaining. Joey is worth quite a few laughs as he keeps things interesting.

Tropic Heat

This is a book in the Flamingo Island series. All of the books are standalone that take place on Flamingo Island.

This was the first of the series I have read so I don’t know if there is any background for the Island or not in earlier books.

Daniel deals with an unimaginable embarrassment and is left at the alter. Thankfully he has his best friend to go on the honeymoon with him. That’s when the adventure begins.

I think my favorite moment was with Buster after a booze filled night. I still chuckle thinking about it.

I will adding the others to my TBR list and plan to try and get to them soon since I have some free time coming.

Tropic Heat (Flamingo Island Series) by C.A. King. I love this author so I was excited to read this romance and I was not disappointed. Its the jilted groom left at the altar scenario that I haven’t read because its usually always the bride left at the altar, anyway it was a fun short read and I feel in love with Daniel. After Daniel is left at the altar his best friend Joey talks Daniel into going on his honeymoon especially since the tickets are nonrefundable and taking Joey with him. What Daniel doesn’t expect is to have a one night stand with a woman and catch feelings for her. Sara just wanted to go on a vacation without any strings until she falls into bed with a key person on the case she is working on. And on top of that she really has chemistry with this guy and wouldn’t mind seeing him again. What I thought was a short little novella left me with big feelings. I loved this book! Read it to find out all the juicy things that happen!

Every single book this author writes seems to be pure gold. And I absolutely love, and am amazed by the fact that she can so easily turn her hand to different genres. This book is much more lighthearted and fun than the last ones I read but is just as captivating and entertaining. I really enjoyed the fact that the story focused in a gilted groom rather than a gilted bride. I found myself flying through this book once I started reading because I simply could not put it down. This is a fantastic book by one of my favourite authors.

Well I’ve read this author quite a few times. The books tend to be a hit or miss on my pique of interest levels. Tropic Heat was one of those that piqued my interest so I had to dive in. These books are typically short and quick with quality within the pages. Sometimes I wish the story had a little more and this was also one of those times. I liked it but I wanted more meat for this particular story.
Daniel was jilted and still went on his honeymoon anyway. Well that’s because it was non-refundable. What he wasn’t expecting was the scenario he would be pulled into.
Sara ended up on Flamingo Island for an assignment. An assignment after a night or rolling around in the sheets with a stranger. Ended up hitting closer to home. Daniel ended up being a key in her case but she needed to find out how much.
How much is too much?
How does Daniel feel when he finds out?
All kinds of emotions flow through the reader in a short period of time. One of which is feeling bad Daniel went through all of this.
Are you curious to find out what happens? Well maybe you should take the leap like I did to find out if it’s just enough to satisfy you, or if you want more as I do.

King has done it again; given us a quick, enjoyable read that draws you in and keeps you turning the page. Getting left at the alter on his wedding day wasn’t what Daniel had in mind when he booked a non refundable honeymoon. So when that happens, his best friend convinces him to take the trip anyway. Will he spend his time drowning his sorrows, throwing a pity party, a sting of one night stands, or maybe, just maybe, will he find someone whom Sparks fly with? I recommend picking up a copy to find out.

This is a quick and easy read that you can get through in one sitting. But, don’t let the number of pages fool you…there is a lot packed in this novella. When Daniel is left at the altar, his best friend, Joey, decides that they are going to make use of the non-refundable honeymoon tickets. What they don’t expect is the shenanigans they will find on their trip. Sara is enjoying her vacation when she comes across Daniel…bu things quickly go sideways between the chemistry between them and her job.

This book had me laughing out loud during some scenes. There is definitely a lot that happens in a short amount of time. I found myself getting through this story very fast and I was immersed into the story. Another good book by this author…looking forward to whatever they write next.

Enjoyable, sweet, fun and romantic read….I always enjoy C.A. King’s books and look forward to always reading more. What do you do when you are left at the alter with no explanation….of course go on the honeymoon that you should have enjoyed with non refundable tickets!!

Daniel is supposed to get married to his love, Claire, but is left at the alter with no word from his fiancee to any reason why. Daniel’s best friend, Joey, has a plan….go on the honeymoon to enjoy and have fun to forget the jilted wedding and have him tag along….

Sara is on her tropical vacation to enjoy her time….ready to take charge. Coming across Daniel, never expecting the sparks to fly and her take charge of what she finally wants. What happens when things fall all over the place with work, sparks and shenanigans?

See what happens next!! Fun read and highly recommended.

C.A. King has done it again! Tropic Heat (Flamingo Island Series) is a really fun read by C.A. King that brings all of the feels. To me it gives romcom vibes with all of the funny, sweet, good feels, and is an engaging story about a groom, a nonrefundable honeymoon, his best friend, and so much more. This is a novella-length book that can easily be read from the front cover to the back in one sitting. I thought this was an entertaining story, and even though it is short in pages it delivers the whole picture!
For the longest time I didn’t know if I could ever find an author that was as good as Janet Evanovich, and C.A. King has been that author for me! She doesn’t disappoint with her novels and is constantly bringing us fantastic books! I don’t think that you will be one bit disappointed to pick up a copy of Tropic Heat and find out what happens for yourself! I can’t wait to read more from C.A. Tropic Heat (Flamingo Island Series) is a really fun read by C.A. King. It has the feel of a romcom with a funny, sweet, feel-good, and engaging story about a jilted groom, a nonrefundable honeymoon, his best friend, and holiday hijinks. This is a novella-length book that can be easily devoured in one fun sitting. It is a very entertaining story, and although it may be short in pages it delivers the ‘reading experience’ of a much longer novel.
I have said this many times before and am likely to keep repeating it again many more times; I am a big fan of Ms. Kings work and have enjoyed all her stories immensely- so it was no great surprise that this book was a winning recipe for me as well. This definitely has all the ingredients you could want from an entertaining contemporary romantic comedy about love, loss, deception, con artists, cops, revelations, a touch of fate, finding that some things weren’t meant to be, and finding love unexpectedly.
Happy reading!

Thank you, C.A. King!

I have read many of C.A’s books and what I enjoy about her writing is that you never know what you will get because of her diverse ability to write in many different genres. Tropic Heat is short, sweet and a fun read that will have you laughing out loud at the goings on. I just wish that the stories were longer not that you miss out on anything good with less pages because C.A. knows her stuff.
Sometimes you find love in the least expected place or person. Daniel may be heartbroken but this not honeymoon may be the best thing that has happened to him. With his best friend Joey in toe what could go wrong or right? Con artist, cops, turtles and to find out what they mean you will have to read it.
Tropic Heat is a great book for a quick escape. So, grab a cocktail or two and feel as though you have stepped into the cruise of a lifetime or is it.
There are many, many books still left to explore, and I look forward to getting through each and every one of them.

Well, I didn’t see that coming. Our jilted groom has a con woman for a bride. He meets a cop trying to break the ring. Throw in some hot, steamy romance that will have you feel like you are in the tropics. This was a fun read. I enjoyed the chemistry between our groom and cop. When they were reading the pickup lines, I about fell off my chair. I have had a few of those used on me. That was a treat to read. I felt bad for his besty having no luck and getting drunk with the turtle. But hey, the turtle is like a bartender. Lots of adventure, romance and fun. Left heartbroken and alone with a pair of expensive, non-refundable tickets to the exclusive and enticing Flamingo Island Resort, what was a jilted groom supposed to do?

Daniel’s best friend Joey knows; they were taking that trip. The best way to get over a woman is to get on top of or under another, after all.

This almost-groom might not be the type to hop from one relationship to another, but when all else fails, a plethora of fancy little umbrellas were waiting to keep tears out of the drinks.

Everything is set. There’s no turning back. The two of them are about to have the trip of a lifetime, just not the one either expected.

Maybe things really do happen for a reason.

About C.A. King

I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche.

Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time.

To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn’t open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn’t need to be a reason or trigger.

People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years.

I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you differently.

I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes—I want them to know they are making a difference.

Fast forward to today…
