I’ve enjoyed this sweet romance so much! I love getting to know each character more with each book. This one follows CC and all her stubbornness. I also really like her style! I am also a Wonder Woman fan! Brant is so sweet and understanding. There are some hurdles to get pass but that’s how love works. You also get to still have updates on characters from the previous books which I really love.

Wow, each book in this series just keeps getting better and better! This book focused on the towns nurse practitioner, Brant who has not really had a semblance of normalcy in his life until he found his mother, Betty, took him in under her wing. The other character in this story is CC, who has grown up in a household that was more interested in drugs and having a fun time versus taking care of her which made her grow up even faster. CC is a wonderful character who is a hairdresser who appeases the community with her wonderful hair dyes and nail salon services. When these characters interact, they started to open up and let love in. This book series gets better and better with each story told! I cannot wait to see what the next story brings!

Brody comes back to Parker nursing his wounds after a workplace incident in NYC. Not sure whether or not he still has a job, he spends the holidays with his family, which has grown to include some familiar quirky characters. Carrying his own emotional baggage, he runs into Karen, aka “Raven”, a teacher friend of his sister’s. She has her own set of emotional baggage. As the family tries to get through the holidays, can these two work through their issues to come together to realize they make a beautiful couple? I found this book brought out all the feels. You can relate to their relationship issues. They have the spark, it builds over time. Even Kelda can’t kill their romance. Speaking of Kelda, who can’t relate to crazy relatives like Kelda and Burt just popping in and talking about bathroom habits, sex life and they are the elderly? I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard as I do when I’m reading about these two. All the wedding talk and romance is just beautiful in the story. The author truly has a figt for making ift feel very real. The people of Parker, Oklahoma could be from your town. The plot was great. It’s a real issue and it was handled well with no choppiness. A wonderful in a series that is one I’ll read over and over. A must for romance lovers everywhere.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the previous books in this series, I was really looking forward to this latest novel and to reading Karen’s story, and I was not disappointed. I loved being back in Parker, Oklahoma, with its small town living and as usual I was fully immersed in the setting due to the descriptive narrative. Karen Posey is the local school teacher and she enjoys a simple, quiet and uncomplicated life, and although her natural beauty has attracted the attention of every man in Parker, Karen remains irrevocably unavailable. Karen believes she is destined to be alone and has developed a wall of defence around her heart in order to protect her, and the secrets she lives with.

However, a chance meeting with a man in the town’s grocery store may just change everything for Karen. Brody Cooper left Parker as a shy, nerdy kid but has reinvented himself and is now a successful, confident alpha male, who’s also rather sexy. Brody has had to return to his hometown to figure out his future, as his hard built career is in jeopardy due to no fault of his own. The last thing on his mind is love, but then he meets the rather aloof Karen whilst shopping and his interest is instantly piqued. Now he just has to win Karen over with his self confident charm, if she will let him. The characters are wonderfully detailed, and I felt like I was there with the likeable and relatable Karen and Brody. I was definitely cheering them on hoping they would get their HEA. The heartwarming storyline flows well and kept me happily turning the pages, and left me thinking about the characters long after I had finished the last page. A wonderfully written story and a enjoyable and engaging read.

The Parker Lake series does not disappoint. The author does a great job of not only developing the main couple of the story but every character in the series. I love how each of the books in the series is a continuation of the previous book. This book follows Colleen, the third friend in the trio and the only single one now. Colleen is a business owner of a local hair salon that keeps the older females of Parker Lake. Brant thinks that Colleen hated him since she always avoided him. Brant even drives to Lakeview to avoid getting a haircut from CC. When Annie and Breckin come up with the idea to hold a bachelor auction to raise money for Colleen to open a gym, she ends up winning a date with the hottie nurse practitioner Brant. The chemistry between these two is amazing and you can pick that up through every page of this book. I can’t wait to see where this series expands to.

The town holds a bachelor auction and CC’s friends buy her a date with the hot nurse practitioner. CC can see that there is chemistry between them but believes she isn’t good enough for him as she is only a hair dresser and to top if off he is only planning on staying around for 3 years. Brant is hot, single and smart surely he is the complete package except he has a crippling amount of debt and scars from a not so great childhood. Can they both overcome everything they have been through and realise that they can help each other with love and trust. Great read

5/5
This book is the third in a series that takes place in a small town in Oklahoma where everyone knows you, your momma, and your grandma. It has that feel-good heart-warming vibe that I adore reading about. This story being the third in a series opens up with a lot of characters in the first chapter and since I did not read the first two books I honestly was very confused. The author did give some backstory to the characters as she introduced them but it did take me about 2 to 3 chapters to understand the dynamics and all the characters. I was worried I wouldn’t get the big picture of the book having just read this one in the series but that turned out to not be the case at all. As the book progressed, I really understood the people and the relationships and the way this little town worked. I immediately liked CC and knew I would connect to her.
This book follows CC, a townie and the only hairstylist around, and Brant, the new to town guy who has run the health clinic for the last two and half years with the plan to make it 3 years in the small town to have his student debt relieved and then get back to his life in the city. It all takes a turn when the town helps CC raise money, she needs to finish renovating the gym she wants to open and CC’s friends buy her a date with the handsome Nurse Practitioner. She has spent the 2 and a half years he’s been in town avoiding him and he’s been admiring her from a distance. After their date based off the auction things start to look up for these two. They bond over shared stories of their childhood and learn they might not be so different from one another as they begin to fall for each other.
The slow burn of this romance was a good one. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time with angst just waiting for them to give in to each other. The way CC tried to push away her feelings and the longing Brant had was everything I love in a romance. Then you add in the drama and plot twist which I did not see coming that leads to some heartache for both characters and you had me turn page after page until I finished this book in less than two days. I could not stop reading this I just had to watch them fall in love and then the fighting and making up I was dying to see how this would turn out because when they were hurting I felt like I was hurting as well. I was so invested. This couple was so beautiful and funny and easy to relate to on so many levels. This was such a good book I now am wanting to read the other books in the series even though I know the way they end just to get more out of the little universe here and read all there is about Parker Lane and this tiny town in Oklahoma

This is the third book in the series and is 367 pages in length. Brant was an orphan until Betty adopted him. He now has his nurse’s license and must work at small clinic for three years and all his student loan debt will be forgiven. CC is hair stylist and is more focused on making people feel good about themselves than worrying about herself. CC has liked Brant for awhile but always slinks away from him. CC’s friends buy him at a bachelor auction in hopes of getting these two together, but they both have a past. Can they get past that?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Unlikely to stay was such a cute, fun read. CC has always been responsible, even as a child. She was always the one taking care of her hippy, free spirited mother not the other way around. Now that she’s an adult she is still a responsible, cautious person. CC is not willing to take risks, especially on the handsome Brant. Brant is the only medical provider is the small town and is only supposed to be there for three years to fulfill a duty. Brant has six months left to go when he meets CC. I love both of these characters and I feel like you get to know them more as the book progresses. My favorite part are the secondary characters. Oh my gosh they are so HILARIOUS! I won’t spoil it for you but if you are looking for a cute love story with just enough spice and a LOT of laughs you have come to the right place. This book is it. I really enjoyed reading and I think you will too!

A reliably good series! This installment in the series was just as good as the previous two. The author does a wonderful job building upon both the characters and the overall story, keeping the reader engaged. I love the relatability of the characters and the ties to the previous books, while also being able to standalone. The world building is excellent as well. Though there is definitely timely conflict, this book, as well as the previous books, just give you an overall feel-good, romantic read. In this story, we follow CC—the more eccentric and unlikely to find love friend of the trio and Brant—an eligible bachelor in town with little ties and a temporary job. Much to her chagrin, CC’s friends are determined to make the match, but their past experiences and wounds may hinder the connection. I highly recommend reading on (and picking up the rest of the series if you haven’t already) to see what will become of their romance.

Unlikely to Stay, continues the theme of strong characters and small-town charm that I have come to expect from these books. CC and Brant are a magical pair. These two were so different yet balanced each other so beautifully. It was a joy to watch these two be constantly pulled to one another. You can read this book with the others in the series or as a stand-alone. Either way would be very enjoyable. The story flows easily and you get to enjoy following the story of the last of these three ladies from this small town.

I really enjoyed Unlikely to Stay. In the beginning I was like come on. Your not in middle school. Haha
The book takes place in a small town where everyone knows everyone and the gossip train doesn’t take long to travel through the whole town.
CC and Brant have caught each others eye for the past 2 years but CC avoids Brant every chance she can until she has no choice and has to come face to face with him.

CC is a hairstylist at her own shop and has hopes to open up a gym too. Brant is a nurse at the clinic and thinks CC hates him so he travels to the next town over to get his haircut.

Thanks to CC’s best friends, they organized an auction and all the money they make will go to CC for the gym.
I thought this was a really good read and look forward to reading more by this author.

Fun, easy read. You quickly get swept up in the story of the town doctor and town hairdresser. This is the third part in a series, as I have never read any of the others, I would say that this is a good stand alone book. Having said that I will be going back and reading the other Parker Lake books as I feel connected to that town and want to know more about the characters living here. A very good pick for my first read of 2022!!

Oh my word, this is one of the best romances I’ve read this year! Yes, it’s early January and this book is funny, romantic and down to earth. It kind of makes me think of a Hallmark movie (minus the octogenarians fooling around). The chemistry between CC and Brant is palpable. The supporting characters are terrific. Having read a few of the other books in the series, I love how the other carries on the story likes its just life in a small town. It can be read as a stand alone but you’ll enjoy it as a series also. The story and the characters are very relatable. Joys of small town life, a fun and quick read that you just have to give a whirl to. I highly recommend this one.

I love the little town of Parker, having grown up in a small town (that is now not so small), I feel like I am going back to my hometown. Colleen is a hairdresser and most of her clientele are of the older generation. Brant is a nurse, who moves to a rural town to practice for three years so that his student debt can be forgiven.
I loved the chemistry between the two and the real-life hurdles that can come from living in a small town. Will Brant be willing to stay? Will Colleen be willing to open her heart to a man she feels is just a short timer in her town? This was a book full of love, with some twists and turns that made me turning the pages to find out what would happen next.

Books like these always pull on my heartstrings and make me wish I grew up in a small town. This is a slow burn, clean romance, but a mature one. There’s some hunting at sexual stuff but no details. CC and Brant couldn’t be a better couple. I love everyone else in the town as well. I especially love that CC has friends that don’t let her make bad decisions. This is the third book in the Parker Lake series, although it can be read as a standalone. This is CC and Brant’s story. Brant is working in Parker Lake at the clinic for three years to get his student loans paid off. CC thinks Brant is out of her league, after she finds out he’s not, she thinks he’ll leave when his time at the clinic is up. Brant has to choose between staying in Parker Lake or going back to the city to be closer to his mom, who recently had a health scare. These books keep getting better and better as the series go on. This is book three of the series and can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend reading the whole series because each book is fantastic!

Colleen is Parker’s only hairstylist. She’s not had much stability in her life and lacks confidence so she really tries to steer clear of many people. Brant has never had any ties accept for his adoptive mother. If he can stay in Parker for three years, his school loans are free and clear. He’s sure he will walk away after three years no problem. Best laid plans and all that. Brant and CC meet after an auction date is purchased for CC. Both of them have baggage that weighs them down. Will these two work passed the demons of their past or will it all be too much?

I really enjoyed this book, much like the others in the series. I couldn’t put it down! CC struggles with confidence but works to help everyone else feel great about themselves. She’s so selfless. I really enjoyed both CC and Brant as characters. I highly recommend!

Colleen “CC” Chandler is a hairstylist in small-town Oklahoma. CC has lived there most of her life. She doesn’t plan on going anywhere. CC owns the salon and another building that she has plans for, if she can ever get the money.

Brant Billings is in the same smalltown but not because he wants to be. Brant has found a way to get his student loans forgiven, spend 3 years in rural America where there is limited access to health care. He is two and half years in. Brant noticed the extremely attractive hairstylist shortly after getting to town but she, CC, seems to avoid him.

Brant agrees to partake in a bachelor auction that the town is holding to raise funds to help CC make her dream for her extra building come true. This is just the start of CC and Brant being in the same place at the same time. As their mutual attraction grows, so does their friendship. Will this be the beginning of something special? When his time is up, is Brant gone?

This endearing tale of love and finding more than what you expect is cleverly written. The colorful cast of characters grab you from the start. The townsfolk keep the excitement and the laughs coming. Be prepared to laugh out loud, like milk (or water, in my case) coming out of the nose laughing! I am just jumping into this series but I plan to make a u-turn and find out what I missed. Great read with a little steam!!!

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series I was looking forward to this novel and I was not disappointed. It was nice to be back in the small town of Parker and with the group of friends who live there. This was Colleen “CC” Chandler‘s story, having always lived in her small home town, working as a hair stylist, her unstable upbringing had left her lacking in confidence. When Brant Billings accepts a job in Parker, Oklahoma as a nurse practitioner at the towns clinic his plan is to only stay for three years, to earn enough to pay back his student loans. Being raised as a foster kid he’s used to moving on, however, that was before he met CC, the only problem was she seemed to be avoiding him. Meanwhile, CC feels that she is ‘only’ a hairdresser and thinking that Brant is much smarter than her and will only be around for a short time, she try’s to ignore the instant attraction she has for him and avoids him. Brant and CC are brought together when CC’s friends buy her a date with Brant at the towns eligible bachelor auction.
I was cheering the couple on, hoping they would be able to overcome their pasts and get the HEA they both deserved. I loved CC and Brant and how their relationship developed over time. The chemistry between them really came across in the writing. As usual, the setting came alive by the descriptive narrative and I felt immersed in small town living, in Parker. I enjoyed ‘catching up’ with characters from the previous novels, however, it can be read as a standalone story. An enjoyable and engaging read.

The Parker Lake series is one of my top ten series I have read. The characters are believable and down to earth. This book features CC, who is the town beautician who has a confidence problem and Brant, who is a nurse practitioner that moved to Parker Lake to get his student loans paid off. Both are afraid of commitment, but the chemistry between the two is off the charts. Will they be able to overcome their issues, or will they go their separate ways? Unlikely to Stay by Olivia Sherwood is the third book in the Parker Lake series and is centred around Brant and Colleen or CC as she is know by and is a great romantic story.

The story is a fast flowing, well written story which brought theses to characters to life, I love a book that you can just get lost into and Unlikely to stay is a great story to do this with. I enjoyed all the characters that were in this book but I especially enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters Brant and Colleen.

Brant is a nurse practitioner and Colleen or CC is a hairdresser within the town of Parker, both have serious crushes on each other but are not prepared to admit just yet that until one night CC’s friend’s decide to bid in the bachelor auction and buy CC a date with the handsome Brant.

They hit it off and the rest is history, but will there pasts be the ending to the new relationship they have created or will it be too late for it to be over. I can’t wait for the next book in this series and hope these wonderful characters are included in the other books. I would recommend this series to my friends.

I absolutely could not put this book down! I love this story so much. Ever since I read the first book in this series, I’ve been waiting for CC to meet the right man and have her chance to fall in love. Even though CC comes across as tough and not caring what other people think, she’s actually really vulnerable and doesn’t have much self confidence at all. She thinks there’s no way that a hot man that went to college to be in the medical field would ever be interested in her. She underestimates herself and how amazing she is constantly. Brant is dealing with his own demons from his past and he falls so fast for CC. I love how he picks a special nickname that’s sweet and just for him to call her and Memaw is back in this one and hilarious as ever! I can’t say enough good things about this sweet amazing romance. It’s one that’s definitely not to be missed!

I was excited to get the next book in the series. It was a great 5 star read. I really enjoyed the characters and their story.

CC and Brant have both had some tough childhoods which have caused walls to come up and insecurities. CC is the town’s hairstylist and Brant is the local doctor. They have definitely noticed each other for about two years now. Thanks to their friends they are set up on a date. Will the date finally get them going in the right direction? Can they have a HEA?

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I really liked all of the secondary characters, it was like a reunion from the first two books. I really liked her high school friends Annabelle and Breckin. I was pulled right in by the author’s writing and was on an emotional rollercoaster. You can read this book as a stand alone but I highly suggest reading from the beginning. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, 1-click and get started today.
