Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola – Review by Jenni Bishop

Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola is a contemporary romance story. It is a Christmas story where there is fun and attraction, but also a bit of “taboo” as there is a bit of an age gap between Nick and Miranda and he is the boss of her mother. But none of that matters when it becomes an affair of the heart. I have mixed emotions above this tale because I felt the story was missing something, I wanted more, of what I am unsure but it could be because I didn’t gel with the characters to well. I found Nick was a bitter pill to swallow most of the time and I wanted to smack him. Miranda was tiring, childish and her indecisiveness drove me insane and I wanted to shake her and well then there is Mona who was just so plain annoying. But this is just my opinion here and at a quick look there are many more reviews who found this book exciting. So, give it a go because you just never know it may just be me.

5 stars!

I loved this book and did not want it to end! The Christmas theme really got me into the holiday spirit. Miranda and Nick are so beautiful together. Im so happy that even after all Nick went through, he was able to find love again let alone trust a woman again. He never gives up on chasing after Miranda, which makes my heart melt. When they have their big blow out fight, I am devastated and couldn’t read fast enough to see what would happen. I could understand why Nick felt the way he did, he felt abandoned and like he was a secret. On the other hand brushing Miranda off after she tries to get in touch with him and then acting the way he did when she tries to make it right was a little childish. I was concerned that their age difference was going to be the downfall of their relationship but it was really down to Miranda’s mother. All of the drama, romance, steamy moments and watching their relationship grow is fun to watch. I can’t wait to check out more from this author.

Unwrapped is a great contemporary BWWM romance by Evelyn Sola. Having not previously read any of Evelyn Sola’s work, I was unsure what to expect but the blurb of this book had me very intrigued and I just had to give this book a chance. What I got was a book that totally grabbed me and had me totally engaged with the story right up to the very end. This is a really great story that I’m sure will be enjoyed by many.
When 36 year old Nick Bain takes over his uncle’s business while he convalesces the last thing he expects is to become smitten with the gorgeous 23 year old daughter of one of his employees. An employee who absolutely hares him with a passion.
Miranda’s mum cannot stand her new boss and boy do her family know this! So how will Miranda cope when she meets and falls for said boss. Let me add that this book is very steamy!!
I loved this story. There is so much humour coming the way of Miranda’s mum. Believe me, you are left in no doubt just exactly how much she hates Nick. Her constant rants had my laughing along with this book.
I loved both the characters of Nick and Miranda and the way that the author dealt with their mixed race relationship and the age gap between them. The story is very well written and flows well, keeping the reader engaged throughout.
I look forward to reading more from Evelyn Sola.

Unwrapped is a sexy holiday story by Evelyn Sola. As this is my first read by Ms. Sola, I really didn’t know what to expect going in- but as you know by now, I do love a good Christmas/holiday story, so I was only too happy to dive in.
Unfortunately, this didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It was quite slow to get going, and I really had trouble connecting with the characters, or their story- the whole thing leaving me wanting. Nick rubbed me up the wrong way right from the beginning, and I just didn’t connect with Miranda at all, no matter how hard I tried. It’s an ok story, but I really did want to love this book so much more than I did.
I’ll revisit this book again in a few weeks to see if I still feel the same way, or if maybe I was just having an ‘off’ reading day.
I would be interested in exploring more of Ms. Sola’s work to see what else she can do.

Thank you, Evelyn Sola!

I found Nick and Miranda’s story fun to read. Nick is taking over for his uncle and seems to have not made a good impression on the staff at Bain Construction. When the company Christmas party happens, he finds himself immediately enamored with the daughter of one of his employees.
Miranda has heard her mother complain about her boss for weeks, so imagine her surprise when the man she is attracted to at the party is said boss. Their connection is instant and you can feel it coming through the pages.
Nick wants to go all-in from the get go and Miranda wants to keep it on the down-low for the time being. It wouldn’t be an interesting story if there weren’t twists and turns, and obstacles to overcome. However, I enjoyed watching each of these characters grow and change as the story progressed. Overall, a fun story with a Christmas vibe that is perfect for getting ready for the upcoming holiday season!

Unwrapped was a fantastic 5 star read that I really enjoyed from beginning to end. The synopsis sounded great so I couldn’t wait to get started and I wasn’t disappointed at all. I loved the main characters, Nick and Miranda, they were opposite to each other but as they say opposites attract and they definitely had the attraction and chemistry going on! I mean I fell in love with Nick straight away 0 I love the dark and brooding type of characters – hence why I loved Nick from the get go! There were a few twists and turns along the way but I was definitely rooting for the two of them from the very beginning.
A fun, romance read that I would highly recommend!

I loved reading the book Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola. It is a story that had me hooked from the very beginning. It is a romance book that is steamy, romantic, and will have you not wanting to put it down until the final page. He is handsome, charming, and her mother’s boss. She is strong, intelligent, independent, and feisty. There is an attraction between them that can’t be denied. What does their future hold? This story has amazing characters that the author makes come alive. There are moments that I was laughing and others that had the temperature in the room rising. I loved reading the bantering that goes back and forth between the two main characters. I grew to care about the two main characters with each chapter that I read. There are also other characters introduced that are wonderful to read about as well. Don’t miss out on a book that is exciting and entertaining to read. I highly recommend reading it.

I enjoyed this Christmas steamy romance. This is my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a well developed story that I couldn’t put down to the last page. I was pulled in right from the beginning by the characters. I had no problem connecting with them as they made the story realistic. This is a story about love at first site. But because it’s your mother’s boss, you try to ignore the instant attraction. This is not what was expected at your mother’s Christmas party. What will happen when you throw all the rules out the door? I highly recommend reading to find out what happens. This is a great story that I found to have some humor and awesome steam. This will bring some Christmas spirit as well as warm up a cold night to your life.

Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola
Genre – Contemporary romance
Page Count – 225 pages
Cover Designer – Lee Ching
There are many rules to follow as your mom’s guest at the company holiday party.
Rule one – do not, under any circumstances, find the new boss so attractive.
Rule two – definitely do not undress him with your eyes.
Rule three – if he slips you his phone number, throw it away. I repeat, throw it away. Who cares if just one look into his blue eyes makes you want to drag him underneath the nearest mistletoe?
Rule four – when you show up at his house the next day, do not let him kiss you. Your lips are meant to say good-bye.
Rule five – at no point should you let him take off your clothes like he’s unwrapping his sexy Christmas gift. And moaning will only make it worse.
Rule six – rule six is a bonus rule, so pay attention. Forget rules one through five.
