Very good short story. It’s seriously very short. You will finish it in less than 10 minutes. Everything happens very quickly and it’s a bit confusing but I’m sure that’s the point, the reader is confused until the last page.

SUCH a beautiful book. The writing itself was so lyrical and beautiful. Hester is such a lovable character and her relationship with Aaron is everything. This is a really lovely story. It was a bit slow at first but it really picked up.

Great second-chance romance! I loved this book because it was slow-burn and there was a lot of tension and buildup. Also there was a bit of mystery about the company that wanted to buy all the stores, so that kept me interested as well. Marissa is such a cool protagonist, I loved her and could relate to her. Overall the book was very entertaining and a great read, highly recommend.

Hard Lover (Houston After Dark Book 2) by Deborah Garland – Review by Vanessa Estrada

Hard Lover (Houston After Dark #2)Hard Lover by Deborah Garland

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book kept me on the tip of my toes. Noah and Callie are so cute together, although Noah was a little frustrating because of his stubbornness. Callie Rose is a total baddie though, she was very brave and a good MC. The book was pretty entertaining and fast paced. A LOT of smut. A lot of GOOD smut. But it still has a plot, so it’s all around good

Blood Sector (V-Clan Book 1) by Lexi C. Foss – Review by Vanessa Estrada

Blood Sector (V-Clan #1)Blood Sector by Lexi C. Foss
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have read shifter romances before, but this one was…different. It was the first time I’d heard of knotting and…I’m still not sure what it is?? I feel like the world building was a little confusing, but it was interesting and original. One thing I had a big issue with is that Kieran is referred to as “dark,” but…. I REALLY don’t see it. The book description made him seem really dark and demanding and “i take what i want when i want it,” but he was nothing but sweet to her. He was very thoughtful, considerate. Which is fine, and I loved his character, it’s just not what was advertised in the blurb.
Also, most of their problems happened from them jumping to conclusions or making assumptions, and it just got old after a while.
The spicy scenes were okay, albeit kind of confusing. And the ending was just kind of disappointing. All of the buildup and mystery…for that??
I do think the world the author has created, is interesting and fresh, and I was entertained for a majority of the book, so that’s why I gave it four stars.

My Darling Rogue (A Wicked Rogues Romance Book 1) by April Moran – Review by Vanessa Estrada

My Darling RogueMy Darling Rogue by April Moran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book had everything, it had slow-burn romance, spicy scenes (lots and LOTS of spicy scenes), action, and a morally grey love interest. Gabriel Rose is perfection. He’s confident, he’s sarcastic and witty, he’s so very thoughtful and considerate with Celia, and he’s a dom in bed. My only issue with him is that he calls her his property….I understand calling someone “yours” but I cannot forgive him for repeatedly calling her his “property.” Celia frustrated me a lot because she just kept worrying about what the ton would think, and honestly she kind of made things worse by trying to help. Other than that, I loved her, and she is the perfect sub for Gabriel.

Something About Aimee (Girls from the Street Book 1) by S.E. Smith – Review by Vanessa Estrada

Something About Aimee (Girls from the Street Book 1)Something About Aimee by S.E. Smith

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I feel like the romance wasn’t the focal point of this book. Or rather, falling in love wasn’t the point. It made the beginning seem rushed, like the author just wanted to get it over with until boom they’re in love, which was a little aggravating. Once I got over the fact that it took them 2 seconds to fall in love, I could enjoy the book a lot better. It was action-packed, there was a little heartbreak, a lot if plot twists, it was enjoyable. Would recommend to people who don’t like slowburn romance.

Love in the Roses (Love Through the Ages Book 1) by TL Clark – Review by Vanessa Estrada

Love in the RosesLove in the Roses by T.L. Clark

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Lovely story, but not really enemies to lovers. I found myself bored at times and really struggled to finish it. It was just festival after festival, all they did was celebrate the saints and celebrate the seasons and that’s IT. I felt like there was not really any villain, until the end. I had never read a historical fiction book that was heavy on the history, but you could definitely tell that the author really did research, and I appreciated the nods to our current holidays like Halloween. I found a lot of their practices to be very interesting, like the process for giving birth. What I DID like was how real the author made everything. Like the MC’s first time having sexual relations. It wasn’t all lovely and rosy and perfect like they make it seem in the movies or romance novels. I also did really like the MC, she was very smart and had a way with words that was *chef’s kiss*. And you can really see the love between her and Sir William, they are a very cute couple and I found myself gushing over them. They really are couple goals, always having each other’s back and on the rare occasion they got into a lover’s quarrel, they handled it very maturely.
Overall, I gave it 4 stars because although I found the book boring at times, others who actually do really like historical fiction would probably really like it, and it was a good book.

Truth or Kill (Twisted Legends Collection Book 1) by A.C. Kramer – Review by Vanessa Estrada

Truth or Kill (Twisted Legends Collection, #2)Truth or Kill by A.C. Kramer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kept me on the edge of my seat! I loved the plot and the pace was just perfect, it didn’t feel too rushed or too slow, the dual POV kept me on my toes, the spicy scenes were five chili peppers, and the main character was really smart. I feel like when there are mystery aspects to a book, I usually get frustrated with the MC, but not this time. The romance was great too and I really hope the other two brothers find love and I get to read about it. This was a great book, but it was dark. I’m used to reading dark romance so I wasn’t shocked or scandalized but this book isn’t for the faint of heart.

I loved this book! The three stories were all different, it didn’t feel like you were just reading the same story three times. It had the best romance tropes and it was not cheesy! I loved how all the stories were connected and all the coincidences kept the book interesting and kept me on the edge of my seat. The alternating POV was great and the characters were fun! My favorite couple were Fiona and Price, they were just too cute for words but they also made me cry so much.
