Master Catteneo (Masters of the Consulate Book 5) by Sylvia Black – Review by Vanessa Watts

Master CatteneoMaster Catteneo by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So I just had to read the previous books in this series before this one because you just never fully know what’s going on if you don’t. While you totally can read this as a standalone book, reading the whole series just gives way more insight into what happens in this story.

Master Catteneo is on the hunt for Overmaster Descallia’s mate who was taken, and he is hell bent on making those that stand in his way pay. He has an idea on who can help because she has helped before but he wasn’t expecting the granddaughter to be the one to help.

Alessia is tasked with helping the vampires because her grandmother is sick, and with some powers of her own she is more than qualified to help. She resolves to do everything within her power to rescue Descallia’s mate. When the sparks fly between the two will this lead to their end goal or turmoil?

This was a fantastic book in the series and one of my absolute favorites. It gets your blood pumping in all the right ways. If you like paranormal romances then definitely give this series a go, it has been amazing up to this point and I am excited to see what comes next.

Boss’s Vendetta (Sicilian Gods Book 1) by Via Mari – Review by Vanessa Watts

Boss's Vendetta (Sicilian Gods Book 1)Boss’s Vendetta by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the perfect startup book for a new series. It is explosive, filled with action, drama, violence, and romance. With characters that are relatable, ones you love to love and ones you love to hate.

Adrianna is the female in the stories we always aspire to be. She is a doctor, who was orphaned, and is looking for answers into her fathers death. Which may come from the elusive Larussio’s. So when she gets a job working in one of their casinos this may be the perfect chance to find answers to the questions plaguing her about whether the Larussio’s were responsible.

Salvatore, who is not even heir to the mafia throne, is thrust into the position solely by availability. Many think he should not be there nor that he has earned such a prestigious position of power. The last thing he needs is a sexy doctor turning his world inside out and giving his enemies a weakness to exploit.

Will Adriana finally uncover the truth about her father’s death and will it be the answer she hopes? Can Salvatore protect his family and Adriana from threats within and outside the family so he can find his happy ever after? This is a dark mafia romance, with suspense, lies, and romance which makes for an amazing story in my book. I am excited to read the next book in this series just to see what happens next!

Finding Bryce (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 1) by Debra Parmley – Review by Vanessa Watts

Finding Bryce (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 1)Finding Bryce by Debra Parmley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love all things military romance related, probably because I live that life. There is something about a man in uniform and the females that turn them inside out.

The seals are out just trying to have a good time, no strings attached. While Pippa is a woman trying to steer clear of her abusive ex-husband and forget the life she is trying to outrun though he is in prison. The two meet at a halloween party in costume and share an amazing night together. There is just one problem, that one night turns into a pregnancy and Pippa can’t even recall who the father might be. Tanner just happens to come back into her life a couple of years later at just the right time when Pippa is having issues with her ex husband who has just been released from prison. Can Tanner get Pippa out of the crosshairs of her ex? Is Pippa the one woman that can make Tanner give up his bachelor ways?

This is a fantastic book, a quick read, with more than enough action. I love how the author has brought local places to the area in the story. For those that have lived in the area will surely appreciate that. This book is action packed from page one. Definitely give this one a read, it’s amazing!

Mis-Spelled (The Stellaluna Chronicles Book 1) by TH Leatherman – Review by Vanessa Watts

Mis-Spelled: Book One of the Stellaluna ChroniclesMis-Spelled: Book One of the Stellaluna Chronicles by T.H. Leatherman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. It is absolutely amazing. The characters are well thought out and developed. The plot is engaging and absolutely hilarious at times.

Evan is the character you just have to love. The book starts out rough but he protects another and gets mysteriously thrust into a new realm, one of fairies, dwarves, elves and trolls. In order to get back to the human realm and his family he must complete 3 tasks for the elven queen. Piece of cake right? Not even a little, each task is more difficult than the last and with little support Evan must learn to negotiate deals to learn other’s magic to use in his quests. What happens though when those who deal like to try to twist words? Be careful of the words used to make deals after all most of these magical creatures are only in it when it benefits them more than you.

I really enjoyed how Evan, unlike his brothers, resorts to solving the problems with peaceful solutions rather than violence. He is a very careful yet resourceful person who will need all his smarts to make it out of this realm. I could not put this book down and just had to keep reading one more chapter to find out what happened next. If you like fantasy books with some mystery, action, adventure, and comedy then this is definitely the book for you. I will be recommending this book to many friends, it is that good.

Hate You Later (Lit Lovers Series Book 1) by Ciara Blume – Review by Vanessa Watts

Hate You Later (Lit Lovers, #1)Hate You Later by Ciara Blume
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a perfect beach read romance that’ll keep you coming back for more of the character’s antics. I love the take on being petfluencers and a feel good storyline. This story has everything you could want; a romance you pull for, characters you love to hate, and cute pets that seem to dictate their owners lives.

Georgia is the owner of Celestial Pets which specializes in clothes for all kinds of pets as well as natural foods and treats. When her world comes crashing down all at once thanks to the millionaire Holms. First they boot the pet shelter out of their current location, then the rent hike, and possibly theft. So when Georgia meets Hudson he’s not so bad until she finds out he is a Holm. Can Georgia and Hudson move past the bad blood caused by Bryce to find their happily ever after? Can Georgia manage to save everything she holds dear even if it means asking for help once in a while?

This book is all about growth, we see Georgia grow as a person and a friend. She finds that not all problems have to be solved by yourself and sometimes you need a little help from those who care about you. It was so fun to see the relationship develop and everything come to light regarding Georgia’s finances. This is an amazing book that’ll make you laugh, make you cry, and even make you want to deck someone.

Mafia Elite Series Box Set Volume 2 by Amy McKinley – Review by Vanessa Watts

Mafia Elite Box Set: Volume TwoMafia Elite Box Set: Volume Two by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I cannot even begin to say how much I loved this series. To put it into words it’s like Christmas morning everytime a new novel was released in this series. Yes, they are in fact that good.

In this box set we get to follow more strong mafia bosses and the women they can’t control but can’t lose either. These novels are packed full of action, adventure, and romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. I think each one has more twists and turns than a rollercoaster and good on you if you can figure out all the sinister plots before our characters do. These books will suck you in and not let you go until you are done and even when done they’ll keep pulling you back in. Our mafia bosses are not the easiest to trust or to earn their trust and the fact that the females give them each a run for their money is fantastic. It is refreshing to see a book series where the females get as much power as the men through marriage and aren’t the sniveling whiny ladies of rich men that typically grace romance novels.

I feel like I may be rambling now but if I can get you to take a chance and read the novels then it was all worth it. After all sharing my love of reading with others especially when a series of this greatness emerges is a huge goal in my life. Definitely give this series a try but be forewarned once you get started these characters are addicting and will have you coming back for more!
