It Just Comes Natural (Powder River Pack Series) by Brooke May – Review by Brandy Rymer

It Just Comes Natural (Powder River Pack Book 3)It Just Comes Natural by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the Powder River series and tells us Macy and Brandon’s story. I adored meeting Miranda’s father and reading about the story of how her parents met, fell in love, and then were separated. We get to see what a day in Macy’s life is like outside of working the bar and keeping Derek in line with his grumpy self, well until Annabelle comes back into his life in book one of the series. I love how the author takes us back in time to the beginning of each of the stories of the characters, but then brings us to the present time. Each of the books overlaps in their storylines, but each time we get to see it from our main character’s point of view. I have been loving reading through each of these character’s stories, but I especially loved reading about what a strong female character Macy is, and how Miranda got all of her energy and mischievousness from her father. This series is a must-read if you love werewolves and mythical stories with a new twist.

Call of the Alpha (Powder River Pack Series) by Brooke May – Review by Brandy Rymer

Call of the Alpha (Powder River Pack #2)Call of the Alpha by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Powder River series and introduces us to Mason and Riley’s story. Mason is the alpha of the pack, and meets his mate, Riley, at the very beginning of the story. This happens right after his brother Miles meets his mate, her best friend, Alexa, as they both walk into the bar together. We also get to meet Mason’s son, Archer, who he had with a woman who was not his mate but was a drug abuser. Archer’s mom signed away all of her rights as soon as she was done having him, thank goodness because Mason came and picked up his son immediately and took charge of being a single dad. Archer was Mason’s everything, he had no room for women in his life until he met his mate, who he hopes will love Archer just as much as he does. Riley is the perfect woman for Mason, but she doesn’t know anything about the existence of werewolves, will she be able to accept him for who and what he is? I was so excited to understand what Riley’s big brother’s secret was, it was a great way to introduce our next set of characters for the next book in the series as well.

A Second ChanceA Second Chance by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Powder River Pack series, where we are introduced to a group of werewolves and their mates. In this series, only males can be werewolves, but they are mated to females that are regular humans. Derek and Annabelle met while younger and dated for a few years before Annabelle was forced to move due to a bad marriage and her parents getting divorced. Annabelle’s dad seems to have a problem with people, no one seems to make him happy including his daughter and ex-wife. As we progress through the story, we find out why Annabelle’s dad hates Derek, and life in general and takes this anger out on everyone around him. He wants everyone to be miserable just as much as he is and has no problem going to extreme measures to achieve this. This was an amazing first book in this series and introduces a ton of great characters that I am so excited to get to know more in the next books.

This is book 4 of the Powder River Pack series and tells the story of Alexa and Miles. The long wait is finally over, we get to find out why Alexa was so hot and cold towards Miles, and what happened to her in the past that has caused her to be so damaged when it comes to relationships. I loved the drama that this book was filled with and the thrill of trying to figure out who was watching Alexa. The characters were amazing, it was awesome meeting and getting to know the newest characters, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I’m excited to see which character’s story will come next.

After a past relationship gone wrong, Alexa does not want to get involved with another shifter. But, fate intervenes when she meets Miles. Miles is a shifter and does not believe the lore of fated mates until he sees Alexa at the bar. While Alexa is battling between her heart and mind when deciding what to do, her past comes back to haunt her. Will Miles be able to find her and keep his mate safe? And will Alexa realizes not everyone is like her ex before it’s too late?!?

I enjoyed this story. I have ready other books by Brooke May and enjoy her writing style. This story had a little twist on your average shifter romance and I found it interesting. I am excited to see what the rest of the series has in store!

Resisting Nature (Powder River Pack Series) by Brooke May

Resisting Nature is the fourth book in the Powder River Pack Series and is a wonderfully written Paranormal Romance that I absolutely loved reading. I’m a huge fan of this author and have read several books by her. I love that no matter what genre she’s writing she pulls you into their world and makes you feel apart of the story. The characters are relatable, fully developed and some are creative. This Paranormal Romance grabbed me from the first page and I literally read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. This is packed with drama, secrets, action, love, alpha shifters , werewolves, pain , hope and so much more. Alexa and Miles, she’s just wanting a fresh start from the mess her life had been in and she wants to be happy so she trying to start over. Can she find the happiness she’s looking for? Miles thinks he’s found his mate until he loses her. Can he show her that they are meant for one another? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Resisting NatureResisting Nature by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Resisting Nature was a really good read. With that being said I really dislike any books about werewolves. It was a bit much for me to read this but, being a huge fan of the author I pushed through.

Alexa was saying a guy named Grant who turned out to be a horrible person. He hurt her and forced her to give up her virginity. She ended up pregnant but knew she had to get away from him because he was dangerous. She ended up giving her baby up for adoption but kept in close contact with the family who know has her son. Alexa moved far away In Hopes that Grant will never find her.

Years later she’s at a bar with her friend and right away there is something between her and the bouncer at the door. They both are drawn to eachother immediately. What Alexa doesn’t know is Miles is somewhat like Grant only he’s not a monster like he was. Miles is loving, caring and sweet. One morning when she wakes up alongside Miles who happened to shift during the night at some point, she is very afraid and decides she can’t do this again.

After a month or so of not talking or seeing eachother they end up talking and trying to work things out when Grant shows up out of the blue. Somehow he finds Alexa and he won’t stop until he has his little family back. Somehow he knows, he has a son somewhere out there.

Will Miles and his pack be able to save Alexa ? Will they be able to make it to find where Grant is hiding her or will Miles lose his mate when he finally just got her back?

If this was written by any other author aside from one I love reading, I may not have been able to finish the book, but I’m a big fan of her writing so I’m glad I was able to finish the book.

I have enjoyed this set of books. Even though it is a series they can all be read on their own. The author has made the characters enjoyable and her writing style makes the story flow so easily that you will get caught up and forget about time. This is book four and is the story of Miles and Alexa. She is running away from an awful situation and hopes the new town and new start will be good. That is until trouble shows up on her door step. Miles, of course, wants nothing more than to love and protect Alexa but she pushes him away. Will Alexa be able to trust Miles?

The Alpha of the Powder Pack, Mason, has resigned himself to a life of raising his son alone. That is until his wolf gets the scent of his mate in his bar, Riley. She is a biologist and has recently returned home hoping to help in the community. Mason of course knows from the first time he lays eyes on her what is happening. Riley on the other hand is not knowledgeable of supernatural beings which may or may not cause problems. The idea of being in insta love due to the Moon Goddess (or any name that the author gives to this unseen character) having chosen someone has always made me kind of skip of that part of the first meeting, but the author made this seem natural. I have really enjoyed her approach and take on this supernatural being. These stories, at least the first two, seem like they can be read as as a stand alone, but I have a feeling we will see some of these characters in future stories. Even if we don’t it is worth it to read them all.

Derek and Annabelle seemed like they were going to together forever. After her family was torn apart by divorce she left the pack and went on to become a well known and respected wildlife photographer. However, her father is dying and she must go back to help settle his affairs. She has a bunch of mixed emotions about returning and doesn’t know what to expect. How will she be received? Derek didn’t think he would see the love of his life again. He was left with no explanation and a broken heart. He had managed to move on with his life, but now that she’s back he won’t let her go. I have read a few other books by this author and enjoy her writing style. I look forward to seeing how the rest of this series plays out.

Resisting Nature (Powder River Pack Series) by Brooke May – Review by M Policicchio

Resisting NatureResisting Nature by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read a bunch of werewolf stuff. This was a different take on shifters and the shifter-verse. I liked how the young wolves shifted early, around 3 years of age. I was not a fan that only males were shifters. It made the shifter-hound storyline with Thea so easy. Of course even when there are she-wolves, there are those that try to latch on to high ranking wolves. Not the point, the point is that I was not a fan that only men got to be special.

Okay. So our story…..Alexa was seduced then abused by a werewolf. She escaped him after she found out she was pregnant. Alexa didn’t tell anyone that she was leaving or about the baby, except her parents who helped her run. Alexa had the baby and gave him up for adoption, hoping this would keep him safe if the ex found her. Alexa went to school and became a lawyer. She moved to Montana with her best friend to continue her new life.

Miles was just another male shifter living the life of freedom and women when he met Alexa. They had an instant connection. He knew she was his mate. Everyone could sense their connection. The only problem was that Miles had to tell Alexa that he was a werewolf, not knowing her history. When Alexa discovered Miles’ secret she walked away from Miles and their connection. She would not do it again. Alexa started seeing a therapist to help her work through her issues. The therapist encouraged Alexa to tell Miles about her past.

As Alexa is finally able to disclose to Miles her history, the ex re-emerges from shadows and takes Alexa. The ex knows about the baby and he wants his son. He takes Alexa to go get his child, with Miles chasing them to rescue Alexa. Alexa is crafty and manages to keep her and the child safe and even manages to escape from her ex. Miles makes it so Alexa will never be haunted by her ex again.

This story has many good points and a few bad. But overall, the good wins out and the story is delightful and at times, very fun. Excellent read.

Resisting Nature is the fourth book in The Powder River Pack series by Brooke May. This is a wonderful paranormal romance, with shifters, werewolves, fated mates, mystery, angst, action, drama, chemistry, steamy developments, struggles, heartache, and emotion.
Alexa Hart’s past experience with love brought her nothing but pain- so she’s determined to protect her heart at all cost. That becomes increasingly difficult the moment Miles Fischer wanders into her life. She is drawn to him, and still she tries to fight it. Nature and fate have their own plans though. But, what happens when secrets are revealed? Can Miles still win her heart and convince her that they were fated to be together, and that that kind of forever-love is worth the risk. Well, this is well worth the read to find out.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Broke May!

I was happy to see a new book by Brooke May was out and couldn’t wait to get it in my hot little hands. There is not one book that Brooke has written that I have not loved. I like that she writes several genres and always comes up with a good storyline but paranormal is my first love. Resisting Nature is a paranormal romance tale in the Powder River Pack series. Make sure you read them in order, or you are missing out on all this alpha goodness.
With fated mates and alpha shifters, werewolves, love, action, drama, passion, heartache, pain, hope, secrets, longing and more. This is my favourite book to date and love the characters that are a part of this world. They are interesting and well developed and it’s hard not to like them. There are also times where you find yourself laughing as well.
Alexa is trying to start over and move on from the mess that was her life. She wants a peaceful life, a good life only if the past stays in the past. Is l ready to let someone in? Could she truly be happy?
Miles has never been one to have control when he sees something he wants. S is more than something he wants she is his fated one. He will make sure all she sees is him. He finds the one thing that will make his life complete, but will she accept him or will her past keep them apart?
If you love paranormal romances, then you will need to grab a copy and enjoy.

This is another brilliant addition to this series and I think has to have the strongest characters so far. I really connected with them and I feel like they were so real and believable. Their connection to each other is so strong as well. It isn’t plain sailing for them either which I think made them more interesting to read about.
The story fit really well with the characters. It was an interesting story and I was pulled into it straight away. I always enjoy this authors writing style and her books never fail to entertain me. This series feels like it is going from strength to strength and I am looking forward to the next.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading for a while now. Her books are such that they are full of romance and her characters heat up the pages. I enjoy how she can pull you into the story with ease and keep my attention to the end. This book is no different. It is a well written story about Miles and Alexa. He thinks that he has finally found his mate until he loses her. She is afraid of who he is so she pushes him away. Miles is determined that Alexa is his mate and to change her mind about him. Will nature take its course or will her stubbornness will out? I enjoyed these two characters. They made the story easy to read and hard to put down. I enjoyed their chemistry and attraction. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout. This is a fast paced story that you don’t want to miss. Will Miles and Alexia find a HEA? Are they mates? I highly recommend reading this book to find out.

I loved this story. Alexa is working through some prior issues from the past. Miles is learning about fated mates. Together they seem to somehow be making this work. the people around them seemed to be supportive. I am guilty of the little chuckle when you go to bed with a human and you wake up the next morning to literal dog breath. I love how this author writes because you get so involved in the story right from the start. It’s a really intriguing story that kept me so into it that I couldn’t put it down. This is a great book that didn’t take much time to read. It is well paced and the story line doesn’t feel rushed. Things are explained and set up for future books. The way that the characters are written makes you feel like they could be your neighbor or your friend. Ok, I wish that I had friends like this but more because of the whole shifter element. You are instantly connected to the characters and who doesn’t root for a bad boy turned good guy. I loved the push and pull that happens with the characters because it is something that you could see actually happening. The pushing away to protect someone from the past, the pulling them closer because you just can’t stay away from them. I love the tenacity that is shown in this book. It was a quick read and there were things I was not expecting which made things even better. It is so hard to not say everything because I don’t want to give any spoilers. If you have a day that you can just spend in a book, let this be that book. I promise you wont be disappointed. I can’t wait for more.

I have to admit that paranormal romance are definately a genre I love and I have read this authors work before so I knew I was going to enjoy it. This author never disappoints me. If you love stories about strong protective warewolf shifters and their fated mates then this is definately a book for you.

In this story we are with Alexa and Miles.
Alexa has had a rough relationship in the past with a warewolf shifter which causes her to run as far away as possible. She plans on never allowing another man to get that close to her again. That is until she meets Miles. The attraction to him is instant, she feels a connection she has never felt before but is it all too good to be true?

Miles has heard stories about fated mates but he’s not sure it’s real until Alexa walks into his life. He knows that she is his fated mate and he will stop at nothing to make her his. However he is hiding a secret. He is a wareshifter. How will Alexa react to this news? Will she believe him even?

With Alexa’s past how will she react when she finds out the truth about who Miles really is? What happens next is a fight between her heart and her head. She knows what happened in the past and she doesn’t want to fall prey again but this connection with Miles feels so different.
Miles on the other hand is determined to prove that this is real and fight for his mate but will her constant rejection and pushing him away prove to be too much?
What is going to win Alexa’s head or will she give into nature and what it is has store for her and her mate?

Kieran. Alpha wolf.

She needs his abilities and because he isn’t killing anyone and trying to win her hand in marriage to become the ruling member of the Blood Sector.

There are a lot of Shifter books out there, and this one is Excellent. The characters are so well written you feel like you know them intimately. Quinn is a strong female lead who is trying to solve the mystery of her parents’ death while protecting her people. Kieran is our male lead who is a strong alpha male who is simply too perfect. He is supportive and forgiving yet makes mistakes and assumptions and apologies. Too Perfect! (*sighs longingly)
The world is built and layered really well. There is an entire Omegaverse series that ties in to this book, but this one is a stand-alone. I haven’t read the other novels and didn’t feel lost at all. It was nice to get enough backstory about the world to know how it worked, but not so much that half the book bogged down in details that took away from the story. It was a really well executed balance.
I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this one and have already pre-ordered the sequel!

At first, I didn’t quite understand some of the terminology such as knot but it was easy to understand once Quinn was found by Kieran. I love the dynamic between them. I found the process of how their wolves came out intriguing, such as purring or seeing them in the eyes. The secret of why Quinn originally left kept me reading till the end. The book was a fast read. I can’t wait to read more of the V-Clan series books!

I’ve always loved books by this author and this one is no different. The attraction and passion between Quinn and Kieran is off the charts. Kieran is a strong alpha who’s been chasing his betrothed for a century. Finally catching her, he intends to never let her go. Although he can be full of himself and dominant, he is also tender and cherishes her. I absolutely loved him!! Quinn is a strong Omega princess, heir to her throne. She is smart but has many secrets. She propositioned Kieran to save her sector then ran knowing it was in safe hands. Her time on the run is up, Kieran found her. Can she get away or will he punish her for her disobedience? The book hooked me from the beginning and had me flying through the pages. It’s been awhile since I read a story about werewolves so I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Quinnlynn McNamara is the Princess of Blood Sector. After her parents death, she’s in line for the throne and all the Alpha Princes are fighting for her hand.

For the last century she’s been in hiding, but with Alpha Prince Kieran O’Callaghan finally catches up to her she is taken back to Blood Sector to tame her. Kieran is determined to take what was promised him and to finally claim her as his.

Quinn definitely wasn’t expecting what was waiting back home for her…but will she accept it?

This was probably one of my fastest reads this year, and I had definitely planned on taking my time. Blood Sector was a delightful, steamy, and suspenseful read. I loved every minute of the book.

Its well written and captures your attention almost immediately. The characters are enjoyable with plenty of mystery and growth.

I thought I knew what to expect but there were plenty of twists to keep me guessing. I’m ready for the next book!

This was a great steamy read! This was a different take on shifters that I have not read before. I really loved all of the passion between Kieran and Quinnlynn. The patience he has for her is so sweet.I enjoyed getting some background to Quinnlynn’s story and what really happened to her parents. I didn’t want the story to end and can’t wait to read more from this author. They have a very detailed and passionate writing style.

Blood Sector (V-Clan Book 1) by Lexi C. Foss – Review by Monique Espitia

Blood Sector (V-Clan #1)Blood Sector by Lexi C. Foss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my first trip into Lexi Foss’ Omegaverse world and let’s just say, I have no desire to ever leave. Quinn and Kieran’s story reached all the right angles. Mystery, tension, angst, suspense, passion and redemption. I loved everything about it! Quinn, betrothed to Kieran, disappears suddenly leaving him to hold the responsibilities of the clan while he desperately searches for her. She has her “reasons,” of course. Despite her sassy, “I don’t need any help,” attitude, she finally realizes that Kieran has always wanted to be by her side, sharing her secrets, sharing her burdens, no matter what. Kieran is definitely book husband material and I loved everything about him. This was a great book and I can’t wait to read the next one!

Blood Sector: A Standalone Shifter Omegaverse Romance (V-Clan Book 1) by Lexi C. Foss – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur.

Blood Sector (V-Clan #1)Blood Sector by Lexi C. Foss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Quinn McNamara is an Omega wolf shifter, she is also a Princess and she is the centre of a war for her hand as her mate and the Alpha Princes will fight for her until the end, but she has another idea and she has made her choice, but it is one that nobody expects. Kieran O’Callaghan is a wolf shifter as well and he is also an Alpha Prince, but when a young woman intrudes upon his territory with a deal combined with a challenge, he cannot resist, especially when he finds out the identity of the woman involved, however, when she runs away, a game of hide and seek begins.

Quinn hides in the places she knows are the least likely to be checked and so far she has gotten away with it and has managed to keep running despite the Alpha Prince who is chasing after her, her methods of evasion aren’t the safest, but they have been working, that is until she decides to risk it all to save the life of another, so when Kieran finally finds her, she knows that the game us up. He calls her his trickster, but now he has found her, he is never letting her go, he wants her and he will do everything to make that happen, he has also been the acting King of Blood Sector in her place and he will now have his Queen beside him, whether she wants to be or not.

This is where their true courtship starts, they know nothing about the other and trust is something that they each have to earn, but will Quinn’s assumptions about Kieran’s personality be correct, or will he be as brutal, terrifying and cruel as the other Princes? Will Kieran be able to tame his tricky little Omega, or will she be more trouble than she is worth? This is a paranormal romance with plenty of action, not to mention plenty of steamy scenes throughout, but it is also an emotional rollercoaster as the two almost strangers try and create a future with each other, in this story which hooks you in and keeps you hanging throughout.
