This is a new author I haven’t read before. I wasn’t really sure how I was going to feel about this book because usually the cover grabs me. This one didn’t but it was a romance book So I gave it a shot.
I’m glad I read this book because it was a very good read. The pages flowed, I loved the chemistry and the fighting between two of the main characters.
San Sity is a small town where everyone knows everyone. Mitchel Scott is a farmer who was raised by his dad and his aunt. His wife cheated on him multiple times and he always took her back. He didn’t like
Anyone talking bad about her until one day when something snaps and he decides he’s done with her.
Mitchel and Jules don’t get off on the right foot but quickly become closer and then Katie shows up again trying to get Mitchel to take her back again!
I thought this was a great read, loved the characters.

The Lonely Hearts of San Sity by Stacy-Deanne is a contemporary western romance with an opposites attract/enemies to lovers element, cowboys, drama, BWWM/interracial romance, chemistry, steam, finding love unexpectedly, challenges, humour, banter, and a small town setting.
What do you get when you mix a Hollywood talent scout, a down-to-earth rancher, a small country town, and a reality television dating show? Well firstly, you get plenty of sparks, that’s for sure….
This is a very short story, which made for a very quick and easy read. I would have liked this story to have been longer as I think I would have enjoyed even more detail, depth, and development and allowed me to really sink my teeth into the story. As it is, this makes for a fun read….
Happy reading!

Thank you, Stacy-Deanne!

Definite enemies to lovers, what happens when two stubborn people come together and try and make things work? Jules is a talent scout in San Sity wanting to find someone for a reality dating show…and as soon as she locked eye on Mitchel, she thought she found her next star….that is until his very stubborn ways being a hardworking rancher and wanting nothing to do with being on any reality TV show. When Jules and Mitchel stop bickering and get to know each other on a different level, feeling change between then and sparks fly. Mitchel had to learn to let go of the past to let Jules into his heart. Will Mitchel and Jules be able to be together even if Jules wants her reality TV show to be her next big hit for a career move?

The banter between Mitchel and Jules had me laughing at many moments…if you love a contemporary romance full of very steamy moments between initial bickering enemies then to lovers…this one is for you!

The Lonely Hearts of San Sity is a quick and easy read and is not your usual enemies-to-lovers romance tale. They say there is a thin line between hate and love.

Set in a small town there are those who think they know best. It is these quirky characters that gave the story some humour that had me laughing and giving our protagonist a run for her money. Gotta love small towns.

With an eager talent scout and a reluctant sexy cowboy, you are in for a ride. There is lots of sex appeal and chemistry between Mitch and Jules but is their antagonism too much to see past?

This fun read is a nice escape for an afternoon read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this enemies to lovers, cowboy romance set in a small ranch town named San Sity, in Florida. Hollywood talent scout Jules turns up in San Sity to scout talent for an upcoming reality dating show to be filmed there. One man, a hunky cowboy, Mitchel Scott catches her eye, and Jules decides to convince him that he’s the ‘spark’ needed to make the show a big hit. However, the no nonsense, blunt, rough, rancher wants nothing to do with either Jules or the dating show. At least, that’s what he claims, and what Jules believes, and they continue to fight each other, over everything. Neither Jules or Mitchel are prepared when their growing animosity actually turns into love. The chemistry between Jules and Mitchel sizzled off the page, and I was hoping they would get their HEA. The setting really came to life through the descriptive narrative, and made me feel immersed in the story. I loved the main characters, and liked how Jules and Mitchell’s relationship changed and developed throughout the story. The small town feel really came across in the narrative. The storyline had me hooked, and I was happily turning the pages of this enjoyable and engaging read.

I always enjoy all works by this talented author. What they write and create, always seems to pull me in and hold me till the very end. I enjoyed this book. it had fame, romance, passion, and all that I love!

I love the writing as always. This one had a good build up of heat and steam I found. Jules and Mitchel were not rushed into what they were feeling, it came with time, and those feelings that came, really came with the whole fire work show! I loved their interactions together, even if it was rather bumpy at first meet, by the end of it all it had blossomed into something more, that I believe neither of them wanted or suspected at first meet. I always love the humor the author puts into the stories as well, this one was no different. Great main characters and great contribution of side characters as well Really enjoyed it! A great read!

I always fall in love with the works of this author and the characters that they bring to life. This was a charming and great love story! I highly recommend this book and author! Both are a must read!

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. I enjoy how she uses her writing skills to make her stories and characters pop. This is one of my favorite yet of her books. This is a well written story about Mitchel and Jules. Their relationship is one that is tough in the beginning and turns into something neither one expected. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow throughout the story. They have great chemistry and are supportive of each other. I enjoyed how they pulled me into the story from the start. They made the story easy and entertaining to read. I enjoyed what they brought to the story. This is a great romance story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is one of those books that ends up making you smile. The chemistry between Jules and Mitchel is classic. I found myself laughing because they have it so bad. “I wanna have his baby.” is a classic line that Jules said. I am a fan of this author. Her writing is contemporary and fresh. The plot of casting a reality show in this small town is quite refreshing and full of quirky characters. The characters are off the charts. They would fit this insane town I live in. I love how the older people are coming out to audition to be on the dating show. This is one of the most refreshing romances I’ve read this year. I highly recommend you read this one.

This was a good four star read.
Paige had seen an artist technique on a painting that got her traveling to go seek out the unknown artist named Mark. When she gets to the farm and meets Mark she is immediately attracted to him. Mark enjoys painting as more of a hobby, and he is not interested in making it more than it is. He is happy on his horse ranch adopting older horses. Eventually she does convince him to do a show. There is a twist that ends up bringing them closer, can they keep things professional or will they give into their feelings?

Overall this was a fun read. I really enjoyed this couple. And I love horses so that was an added bonus. The author did a great job with her writing and I look forward to reading more from her. 1-click and get started today/

Paige and the Reluctant Artist

I’m a sucker for animals and they usually are my favorite character in the book and as much as I like Paige and Mark, Storm Cloud stole my heart.  I could picture him and his personality in my mind and knew it was love.

Paige’s priority is her job, aside the fact she is good at it, she also loves it which in turns helps her in success.   She sees a piece and entranced by it and eventually it’s creator the moment she lays on it and him.  Their attraction was instantaneous but she refused to get out of her head.

Mark is about as down to earth and humble a very rich man could be.  Money isn’t his focus except how it helps the animals he rescues.  He gets in his head too but like Paige.

This was a sweet love story that I enjoyed.

Paige and the Reluctant Artist is such a sweet romance where two hurt individuals surprisingly find their way into each other’s lives. They both harbor some bad feelings from a past relationship which colors their opinion of everyone they meet.

Paige and Mark seem completely opposite from first glance as she is a sophisticated city girl, and he is a handsome painter from the country. They are brought together because Paige is an art curator for a very grand art gallery and Mark’s artwork is one-of-a-kind. She tries to persuade him to do an art show at the gallery, but he is adamant about staying in Montana and taking care of his rescue horses. Will she be able to convince him to share his breathtaking art with the world or will he send her back to the city with nothing but sorrow?

I enjoyed this cute love story because the characters are lovable but just a bit out of touch for me. I adore the relationship between Mark and his horses, but particularly with the main mare, Storm Cloud. I recommend this quick yet enchanting romance!

Paige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia – Review by Wendy Wary

Paige and the Reluctant ArtistPaige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After a failed relationship with a former client, Paige swears to keep things strictly professional moving forward. When she discovers a new talent for her boss’s art gallery to represent, she goes to Montana to meet with Mark, the artist, and convince him to sell his work at a show.
Mark, who doesn’t need the money, just wants to stay on his ranch and continue his rescue efforts for old horses that would otherwise be put down. Painting is a hobby and release for him, but he’s not interested in Paige’s offer. The woman, however, he’s intrigued by, despite his own previous heartbreak dealing with an ex-fiancee, whom it turns out was only in it for his money.
Paige feels a connection to Mark, but holds to her vow to keep things professional, at least for some time. The pull for both is strong, but Paige continues to push away, despite convincing Mark to do a show with a guarantee of a large sum of money to help his rescue efforts. She has to fight her personal reservations while staying with him as he completes the paintings, which becomes more difficult with time.
By the time the show comes around, Mark tires of the mixed signals and overhears a conversation that jeapordizes any chance of the two finding a happy ever after.
Only when his rescue horse, the one that he painted and caught Paige’s attention with, falls ill do the two come back together. The question becomes if the pair can overcome their stubbornness and history to finally accept one another and begin a true relationship.
This was an enjoyable read with lovely characters. The author did a nice job of weaving the personalities of the animals into the story, as well.

A wonderfully written read full of heart! That is how I would describe this story of Paige and Mark. Paige is totally captivated by Marks paintings and upon meeting him the man himself as well. She has been hurt badly by a previous relationship where she was involved with a client so to say she is reluctant to have anything other than a professional relationship with Mark would be a huge understatement. The attraction and connection they have to each other is so strong it truly can not be denied. Can Paige see past her broken heart and dissolve the defences she built to protect herself, to fight for a chance at a future they have both only dreamed of? Well that is the big question isn’t it! do yourself a favour and grab a copy of this book you won’t be disappointed!!

LeviLevi by Edith Mackenzie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Edith MacKenzie has created a thrilling adventure in Levi; the first book of the series on The Brothers of Creekside Ranch.

Levi, an extremely angry ex-seal is tasked with protecting Bella turned Beccy. As Bella learns to be a nanny/housekeeper for Levi and his family, sparks fly between her and Levi – not always in a good way.

The story was fairly forthright. We know that somethings coming and hope for a Happily Ever After. The characters were intriguing with just enough background to help with flow but not enough to fully clear the mysteries of the past. I did have trouble with some of Bellas decisions which caused me to have to put the book down to breathe but I’m so glad I finished it. What a story!! Now onto the next installment!

What can I say but I really enjoyed reading this book. I love romances in general and this was just a really good read. I like how there is the sense of confliction and it was not predictable. The author does a good job of writing in enough drama to help balance out the romance and keep the reader glued. I certainly didn’t want to put it down.

The characters have a great chemistry and it helps to enrich the book. The totally different personas of the main characters makes it more down to earth and easy to relate to. I will certainly be reading more from this author .

What they don’t realize right away is their mutual attraction of each other.
The story is easy to read, I connected to the characters and got invested in their thoughts and feelings, and the descriptions of Mark’s home and pastures make you feel like you’re in Montana. This book was a really sweet read and one that I really enjoyed. When I first read the synopsis I wasn’t sure it would be my kind of story and worried I wouldn’t connect with the characters but I was wrong on both things! I will say that it wasn’t that instant connection but I grew to care about the characters over the story. I liked Paige, she clearly loved her job and it was important to her, the author certainly got that across well and she seemed like a genuinely nice person. I actually really liked the fact that Mark was a billionaire but not your typical one I would normally read about – it actually made for a refreshing change. There were a few slower parts in the story but as a whole I really did enjoy it and would definitely recommend to others!

Amos: A clean and wholesome contemporary cowboy romance (The Brothers of Creekside Ranch Book 2) by Edith Mackenzie – Review by Colleen Noyes

AmosAmos by Edith Mackenzie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love A good hot cowboy story and Amos definitely fits the bill. The author does a great job of introducing Olivia to the series and the connection that you see forming between Olivia and Mrs. Applebottom really brings some depth to the story. I enjoy that the author brought back Mrs. Applebottom and that this author has all characters from the first book playing equal part in this story even though it is about Amos. So often an author just takes characters and shift them to the back burner instead of letting them be an Integral part of every story.

The camaraderie between Olivia and Bella is sweet and I really like the fact that there’s no cattiness just two grown women enjoying each other‘s company and slowly becoming friends.

I find it beyond amusing how Bella has overtaken the house and the men. I love how much they’ve grown to respect her, become afraid of her, and have excepted her fully into their home and family.

This series feels like coming home to a little cabin with the fire going, blankets around your shoulders, Hot chocolate in cups, and being surrounded by the people you love most in this world. It has that type of cozy, warm feel to it that you just want to enrapture yourself with.

Just like with Levi, this story has some action and suspense. It was a great twist to see how far one character falls. I hope that at some point we get a little more background into each of the ladies pasts as I don’t feel there was enough history given, but Edith MacKenzie is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Don’t miss out on this series especially if you like cowboys, strong women, and a clean wholesome romance.

Paige and the Reluctant ArtistPaige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was so excited for this book when I read the blurb. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The story is sweet. Mark is a wealthy rescuer of horses. Mark’s parents died when he was young, leaving him with a desire to help animals and the means to do so. Mark has a hidden talent, painting. He paints with such skill and feeling that you can practically feel the power and muscle of each horse he paints. Paige, a sought after gallery curator, spots a painting of Mark’s. Paige is enthralled. She must get him to agree to a show in New York at the gallery she represents. Paige goes to Montana, where Mark lives, to get him to agree to paint for her gallery. Instalove connection. Each has their own baggage they have to battle to allow themselves to believe that they could love again.

I enjoyed the description of the scenery, the paintings, and the horses. The author did a fantastic job with these elements. For me, it was the lack of dialogue that bogged this sweet story down. I needed to hear these characters more to connect. The author told me everything I needed to know but, again for me, left me wanting more interaction not only with the characters but between the characters.

Maybe this delightful story just wasn’t my cup of tea after my typical fare. The story is enchanting, the characters darling. I just didn’t connect. Sorry.

Mark is a amazing artist and owns Carmel Ranch and rescuer of horses. Mark is attracted to her but is reluctant about putting his paintings in the gallery until she makes him an offer he can’t refuse.
