This book takes us back to the world of Arcelia and Rodrick, as they go through their adult life and manage their relationship with the politics of their families. I very much enjoyed this book, it was a quick read that I disappeared into after a day out on the river. With the way it ended, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was a final book in the series, but I would like to see another book pop up. Overall, a good book and a good series to try out!

I definitely liked this book a lot better than the sequel in the series. I really enjoyed how it followed a different character, and the book definitely kept me engaged. Sometimes I feel like I get slammed with character after character, and I feel like there could be more to the story, just a couple more details here and there. The plot was a fantastic plot, and it I enjoy seeing the writer grow as the series grows. Catch you at book four!

Descendants of Time and Death (The Gods' Scion, #2)Descendants of Time and Death by Winnifred Tataw
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The book seemed to drag on a little bit through the beginning and middle. It goes over a lot of politics for a good half of the book, which does tie in to the plot, but also can be a bit tedious. After the first books ending with Roderick and Arcelia, I was expecting a bit more romance, but of course nothing comes as easy as we think with books. I do enjoy the plot the author gives out, but the writing style can be a bit confusing. There’s a lot of POV jumps from character to character, and half the time I didn’t know what character was telling the story until about halfway through it. Make sure you’re reading the series in order, since the first book goes over the lore and background of the world and society set up. Over all, a book I did like, and I’m curious to see what the author does next.

This is the fourth in the Gods’ Scion series and I highly recommend reading the previous books before reading this one. By doing so, you’ll have a clearer picture on what had happened previously, the current struggle faced, and the characters involved.

Once again, I applaud the author’s world building and ability to paint a vivid picture of the scenery with words. The characters are well-constructed and have you rooting for them beginning to end and feeling their emotions alongside them.

There are more secrets and lies to be uncovered in this book and the twists leave you unsettled and asking who can be trusted.

I enjoy this series and how there are unique aspects to each, you just can’t get bored reading these books.

I hope to see more from this author soon!

This is the second book in the Gods’ Scion series. I haven’t read the first and would recommend that anyone looking at reading this one, go back to read the first book beforehand. However, I was still able to follow along and gain a base knowledge of previous events.

The author created a beautiful magical world and was able to paint vivid pictures for readers to enjoy. The writing was easy to follow and characters well-constructed. I enjoyed the brothers and experiencing their relationship under the strain of their task. It was believable and added to the danger of their experiences.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable read and I was excited to move onto the next book in the series. I will be going back to read the first too.

This is the third book in the Gods’ Scion series. I would highly recommend reading the first two books before this one for a better understanding of events, the world and characters.

Once again, the world building in this series grabs my attention almost immediately. It’s strong and links together between the books beautifully. The author also does a great job in painting vivid imagery to bring it to life for the readers.

The plot is gripping, and I was intrigued. It’s unique and enjoyable full of lies and adventure for the characters to discover as the story unfolds. Another aspect which stood out to me is the emotion that the author includes. Not only is it clear what the characters are feeling, but the emotion leaks out through the pages, and you almost feel them as your own.

I have been enjoying this series and look forward to more.

This was a really good YA fantasy to fill my downtime with. I’ve read other books by this author and always seem to enjoy myself, so I didn’t hesitate to pick this one up. I liked the relatable characters and the detail throughout this story. I would recommend picking up the previous books in the series as they build upon each other, and you risk not fully capturing the essence of the book without them. The author expertly crafts a world that is full of secrets and seems to expand with each chapter. The flow of the story felt a little odd at times and it snapped me out of the adventure a bit, but overall, I really enjoyed myself. I plan on following this author’s work in the future!

This was another book to this series. Highly suggest that you read the other books in the series before diving into this one. This book had me from the beginning once again, I couldn’t read it fast enough to find out everything that was going on in it. This book was very well written that it makes you feel like your right there with the characters of Arcelia and Prince Rodrick. the love between these two almost feels like your eves dropping on then and you really shouldn’t be, but it really makes you love and care for each one of the characters in their own way. This book had some twist and turns that were unexpected but amazing and really kept me reading more. It is high paced but filled with so much from love, romance, secrets, lies, mystery, suspense, action.

Anticipating Book # 4 of this series…this story continues to bring me intrigue, adventure, secrets, love and family. I had to really pay attention a bit as the change of the chapters of whom was “speaking” but I quickly caught on and I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much.

Picking up with Arcelia and Prince Rodrick ….Arcelia is trying to prove she is with Prince Rodrick for love and not for power as Prince Rodrick’s mother believes this may be. Arcelia heads to underground city of Siesa Arid…. where her family, twin cousins, resides. In light, Arcelia is trying to find out if her mother is behind some devious crime. Will Arcelia find out any truths or be encircled with more lies? Will Prince Rodrick be there for Arcelia, especially with danger around?

This is a very good fantasy story that really leaves you wanting more. I am so looking forward to seeing what is in store to come from this author!

I enjoy the names she comes up with like “Street Crawlers” and “Mohidens”. It really keeps you reading because it is so engaging! The Sisterhood of Secrets (The Gods’ Scion Book 4) by Winnifred Tataw is a great young adult fantasy.

In the story, Arcelia, her damaged family, and Prince Rodrick travel through the deserts and the Siesa Arid underground metropolis. Since she learned that her mother might be a murderer, everything has been odd, and she has been haunted by rumors of falsehoods and unfulfilled promises. She is hoping that a trip to Siesa Arid, the country of her twin cousins, will lead to the kind of family reunification she has been waiting for. Threats from a criminal organization disturb Arcelia and Rodrick, who are also troubled by moral dilemmas about right and wrong. Diversity. Balance. Though this is the fourth book in the series it is the first book I have read by the talented Winnifred Tataw. While I was initially concerned about being confused about the story or not being able to understand what was going on I found I had no issues with understanding. This book was very informative about building the world and characters in the first several chapters. So, I am confident in saying that from experience this book could be read as a standalone, though I plan to go back and read the previous three soon. Told through several characters’ perspectives, it gives a well-rounded story.
Alistine was once a part of the castle staff now with the crowned prince Rayden. Arcelia is the girlfriend of Prince Rodrick, Rayden’s brother. Rodrick, prince of Diar but also the Acolyte of Time. Nikolai the Acolyte of Life. While all the characters have their side story or own situations, they are all tied together to varying degrees. Arcelia is determined to prove that she is not like her family that she is not with Rodrick for power but for love, primarily to his mother Queen Riva. Nikolai has many duties as the acolyte of life, one being as an unbiased tiebreaker for the beings of balance. In past situations when he was needed, he was given details on who or why a person was so important to upcoming events but this time he has told very vague details. Leading him to wonder if he knows the person that could be the single sacrifice. When all things begin to change where will they fall in the balance of the world.
What is better sacrifice one or many, did Nikolai make the right choice? Will Alistine and Rayden finally complete the process of her becoming his princess? How will Arcelia’s visit with her estranged family go? Was Alistine’s feeling that something wasn’t right worth worrying about? The world that the author creates is beyond fascinating in not only the mix of cultural diversity but with the blurred lines between the past and present. Honestly at first, I thought this was a story placed more in medieval times, or closer to that era, until the mention of “scrolling through my phone” and the realization that it was a more current story in terms of technology. The story reminded me in many ways of Game of Thrones in terms of one overlaying story but each character or set of characters having their own side story simultaneously to the main plot. I can’t wait to read the previous books and will be keeping my eyes out for what comes next.

Very interesting book. At times I was confused with the changing points of view, and some of the vocabulary, but was able to quickly adapt and understand once I got about a paragraph in on each chapter. Princess Arcelia and Prince Rodderick are fighting for their love, their families and their people. Rodderick’s mother annoys me in that she gives her son and ultimatum regarding his prince title. Arcelia’s family are something else. All of the lies they tell and the secrets they keep, I am proud of Arcelia for standing up to them finally. I don’t see them moving past the most recent debacle quickly but it seem like her mom is devastated at the turn in their relationship. Arcelia’s aunts can go jump off a cliff with that nasty behavior. The world in which this author creates is interesting and gives the story life. This is my first book in the series, and while I was lost on some aspects, and missing out on some things, I was still able to grasp the story. I recommend reading this series in order.

Recommended for ages 12+ its a fantasy PG romance mentions of war and familial arguments.

The sisterhood of secrets is apart of the gods of scion series. However, I feel this book in particular can be read as a stand-alone since it’s focus is on a acolyte and his love interest.

This book is strongly focused on world building and intricate details explaining the landscape. It’s told in 4 POV transferring between people can be a bit rocky but in other times is done seamlessly.

It took approximately 8 chapters before I could discover the plot or a hint towards what the plot could be.
Climaxing approximately halfway through the book, it seems to right itself but does not end on a cliff hanger. It does maybe leave an inkling that there could be another book that delves deeper into the princesses family secrets.

The sisterhood of secrets is based on a duchess who is in strife with her family because of her choice in love interest. Her love interest is another prince but also an acolyte. Learning to love each other outside the background noise of their two families. They must stand united when the duchess’s life is in danger. Will they win against the shadows ? Who has been spinning the lies and secrets in this web? I suppose we shall see what happens next.

This incredible book is the fourth installment in the God’s Scion series. The gorgeous cover art pulled my eye to the title and I’m so glad I chose to read it. I love Fantasy Fiction and although I had never heard of this author or this series, I was able to fully engage with the overall plot, character building and emersion into this unbelievably compelling world.

I especially enjoyed the characters created and effectively grown throughout this story. You can find that they were so well written that their uniqueness and complexity works in their favor versus being distracting to the reader.

I found this story interesting and intriguing. I think I’ve not only found myself a new fave author but a new series to read in full. I give this book five out of five stars. Excellent read.
