Descendants of Time and Death by Winnifred Tataw is the second book in the God’s Scion series. This is a well written and detailed book with complex characters that you will be drawn to.
This author is still relatively new to be but after reading this book I have a feeling they won’t be for long. I was absolutely captivated by the story and it’s characters. The were so compelling to read about. I love how much detail the author has gone to with the whole book. It made it feel so much more real.
The storyline itself was also well done. It was clearly thought and executed perfectly. This was a fantastic book and I am definitely looking forward to what comes next.

The story Descendants of Time and Death (The Gods’ Scion) by Winnifred Tataw is a wonderful book. It pulled me in and didn’t let me go until I had finished the last page. I enjoyed how the author creates a world that is exciting and interesting. The storyline is addictive and I found myself turning pages to find out what happens next. It is a book that has secrets, mystery, and danger. I loved reading about the character of Rodrick and his brother. They have been sent to try and stop a war. Will they succeed? Read this book to find out. This story has twists and turns to it that I did not see coming. When I realized that I was on the last page I wished for just a few more chapters to read. There are family ties, secrets, betrayals, and trust that is broken. Some moments will have you holding your breath while other times there are bantering between the characters that either had me smiling or with my mouth hanging open. Don’t miss out on an amazing adventure. I would highly recommend reading this book.

This is a new author for me and I enjoyed her book from beginning to end. It is a creative story that is full of action, lies, broken promises and trust or lack thereof. I enjoyed the characters as they are supportive to each other and they made the story feel realistic. Roderick is convinced to take on a task that will take him on an adventure of a lifetime. This is where the story picks up and betrayal and a fight for control as a race against time starts if they are going to stop the war. I highly recommend this story as these characters are pushed to limits they never expected.

5 out of 5 stars

The story Sarah Smiles by Sean-Paul Thomas is a YA/Coming of age book. It is a story that hooked me in from the beginning and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had finished the last page. This is a book that takes you on a journey with the characters and I couldn’t help but grow to care about many of them with each chapter that I read. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Liam and Sarah. Liam is a teenager who has just started another school. It is here that he meets Michael, the school bully. Sarah is a young girl who seems to have spellbound Liam. He finds himself calling her a friend. Liam and Sarah’s days are filled with different adventures. Many are positive, others have them confiding in each other their fears. What does the future hold for both Liam and Sarah? How long will their adventures last? Read this book to find out. This was a story that has heartbreaking moments and others when you want to cheer for Liam and Sarah. The situations that they deal with while living in an adult world will have you feeling empathy for them. There are also other characters that you are introduced to and some are helpful, while others only think about themselves. This is a book that I enjoyed reading and one that touched my heart. I highly recommend reading it.

The story Wreckers Gate (Immortality and Chaos Book 1) by Eric T. Knight is a wonderful fantasy book. It is a story that has action and adventure. It grabbed my attention from the very beginning and didn’t let go until I had read the final page. I enjoyed reading about the character of Wulf Rome. He has found an ancient axe. It wins him a throne. Wulf is a man that is popular with the people. He stands up to those who act and believe they are better than others. The Guardians are causing chaos and destruction. Melekath must be stopped. There is a stranger who calls himself Lowellin. He tells Wulf that he is an immortal and is the world’s only hope. I found Lowellin a character that is mysterious. Does he have his own agenda? Read this book and begin a journey that is interesting and intriguing. When reading this story, I found myself on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. There is wonderful world-building and the story has a lot of details. I felt like I was right there with the characters. I also enjoyed how there are legends and stories told. There are other characters that you are introduced to. I enjoyed reading about their part in the story. This book is a wonderful start to a series and one I would recommend reading.

Joined: Book One by Mara Gan is Science Fiction/Romance book . I was drawn in from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down. There’s a little bit of everything from action to danger and even romance. The author’s style of writing and her characters are almost flawless. Her attention to detail was incredible and I literally felt like I was right there with them. At times I was on a emotional rollercoaster ride and others I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next. This is a story about a woman who all she wanted to do was sit around and read books, help others and play the sports she loved to play. Problem is duty gets in the way of her doing that. Her talent of reading minds is what she wants to do most times she can tell what’s going to happen before it happens. She’s next in line to rule the galaxy and there are others who want her assassinated. She doesn’t think she needs protection and her protector has anger problems. Other problem with him being her protector is she thinks she’s falling for him. Find out what happens next in this must read Book. I can’t wait to see what’s next .

Mara Gan did a wonderful job creating this incredibly world and characters. She has described it very well. The two main characters are Meda and Perseus. Meda is a princess of not just a world, but a galaxy. She is compassionate and sweet. She has a very independent and stubborn streak that I absolutely love. Perseus is beyond fierce. He is a force to be reckoned with, but he may have found a challenge in Meda. There are ups, downs, laughter, and sadness all in this story. At the end of this story, there is a cliffhanger. This is only the first book in this series so more is yet to come, and I cannot wait!

I have once again found a new author and another great first in a series book. I really like psy-fi and
paranormal books. This was just such a great read and so refreshing. The book had me from chapter one and if I said it once I’ve said it a million times I just couldn’t put this book down.

I like how the book is in first person. I really like how I am seeing the events through the main character’s eyes. The first person narrative of this brings everything to life. I felt as if I was the character and as the events unfolded that I was experiencing them first hand. The world created by the author just came to life within my mind. I also like how things are not so straight forward and the main character falls for her guard over time. I really look forward to reading more from this author and this series as this is the first book and I am so eager to see how things pan out.

Joined: Book One by Mara Gan is a fantastic science fiction/fantasy novel. I have only recently started reading this genre and I’m so glad that I gave it a go as I absolutely loved this book. This is a new author to me and I had no idea of their writing style but I can safely say now that Mara Gan sure knows how to write a fantastic engaging story.
When I think of the imagination required to create this story, it blows me away. Not only are there many different characters who all play a vital role in the story but there are different nationalities, planets, galaxies etc that must have taken a great deal of imagination, planning and preparation.
As to the story itself, I was totally hooked on it from the very beginning and was taken on a rollercoaster journey to the end only to be left wanting more.
The 2 main characters Princess Andromeda (or Meda as she’s better known) and her Protector Perseus are awesome. Meda is sassy, strong willed and does not like having restrictions placed on her. As her life is under threat, Perseus is constantly exasperated by her constant rule breaking. All this is not helped by the fact that they both have feelings for each other but, with Meda being a Princess and Heir to the galaxy, her future husband has been chosen for her.
Can Perseus keep Meda safe from those who want her killed? Can the 2 of them resist the obvious feelings that they have for one another? I’d really recommend that you read this fantastic book to find out. For me, I can’t wait for Book Two as I want to know what the future has in store for Meda and Perseus.

I have to say I was very intrigued by this book by the synopsis, but very wary due to page count. This book is long, yes, but is a really good story. I’m not a big “step out of my comfort zone” genre reader, I love romance and the angst but this book really captured my attention.
The character descriptions felt like they were very vivid in my mind and I could really picture everything i was seeing/reading, I LOVE that. But there were some things that could have done fine with not being included, it just got too wordy, for me personally. I felt like I skimmed a lot, which I hate to do, but it felt repetitive or unnecessary to get to the next part of the story.
I will say I’m intrigued for the next book, as that cliffhanger leaves me to believe there will be another. Overall i enjoyed the story.

This was an awesome book 1 to a series that already has me hooked!

I loved Meda. She was a force to be reckoned with. Even though this was a story about a Princess that needed to be saved, Meda wasn’t your typical princess! Her flaws made you love her!

This was a fast pace read with action and suspense! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough just to see what would happen next. Great start to new series and I can’t wait to read the next book. Mara Gan is now a must one-click author for me!

I went way out of my comfort zone on this book. It was recommended when I mentioned I needed something different. This was definitely different for me. I don’t read sci fi and I’m not a huge fan of YA, but in saying all of that I did enjoy many parts of this story. I definitely had no questions regarding the characters as they were well described and had the depth you need to truly understand. The surroundings and times I could almost visualize with the descriptive words used. There was definitely a uniqueness to the storyline which I completely appreciated.

In saying all of that, this book was a bit long and drawn out for me. I’m not crazy about reading a book I find myself having to skip through especially when an author works so hard to give me the words to read, but I did skip quite a bit, it felt very wordy in many places and I might be exaggerating a bit but it almost feels like half the page count could have been eliminated. Okay, maybe not that much but it did leave me with that feeling.

Again..in saying all of that I will be reading the next in this series as there was enough of a cliffhanger to have me craving more, and although this story did not change my choice of not reading this genre it is quite possible that the next in the series will.

Definitely do recommend for anyone that loves a good NA SciFi romance novel without too much of the romance.

I loved the plot and character development. The female lead is strong, intelligent, compassionate, and a bit stubborn, which makes her immediately attractive. Joined was a great 4 star read and book one in the Joined series.

You get all sorts of great things in this sci-fi book, humor, action, romance and so much more. I like being taken to another world and I really enjoyed this one.

Princess Meda was great, she has feistiness to her. She also has a love for reading. She has people out to get her, trying to prevent her from taking her rightful place as the next ruler. When things take a scary twist and she is forced to flee, she has Perseus assigned to protect her. Perseus was a little bit of a jerk in the beginning but he eventually grew on me. As these two spend more time together things start to grow between them.

Can they have something together? Will Perseus be able to keep her safe?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, I had several LOL moments. Mara pulls you right in with her writing, the world she created was amazing. All of the characters were great. I will warn that there is a slight cliffhanger. If your looking for a great Sci-fi read this is the series for you. 1-click and get started today.

Joined: Book One by Mara Gan is a new series and author for me. I enjoyed the story and the characters. I also like the nod to mythology with the characters of Andromeda and Perseus. This is an intriguing story which kept me reading from beginning to end. Also, the character development is well done. I enjoyed the story also because it was was not overladen with sex and course language. This was a refreshing thing to see in a YA story which could be read by all ages. I also think this allowed the characters to develop in relationships and character because there was not only a sexual focus. I look forward to reading more in this series to see where the author takes us next.

Joined: Book One by Mara Gan was magnificently creative and romantic. I loved Meda and Perseus. Both characters were developed well and easy to fall in love with. I also felt that the author did an excellent job on the supporting characters as well. There was enough description and backstory for several of them that seemed to help the storyline. Speaking of the storyline, I felt that it was easy to follow and had an amazing climax. Not once was I bored with it and honestly I had a hard time putting this book down. I also greatly appreciated the various artistic settings the author described in her novel. They were definitely creative and fun. I truly enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gumshoe and the Mysterious Mushrooms is the first book in the Gumshoe Mysteries series by Laura Hawks. I was taken with this book the moment I laid eyes on the beautiful cover- and as I had read several of Ms. Hawks’ books before, and had really enjoyed them, getting this one was a no-brainer.
It is a YA mystery, with is a paranormal elements, action, adventure, humour, fun, and a bit of whimsy. The story was intriguing, even though it was a little predictable in parts, and even though it is targeted towards younger readers- I still really enjoyed it.
The characters are well developed, fully realised, quirky, and entirely interesting. This is a very original, fun, quick, and easy read- it has a pretty fast pace and a smooth flow- which enabled me to devour the book very quickly.
Ms. Hawks has always intrigued me with her clever storylines, and this story was no different. I loved meeting Mia, but particularly Gumshoe- who really stole the show.
My favourite of Ms. Hawks’ books, so far!

Thank you, Ms. Hawks!

Gumshoe and the Mysterious Mushrooms is the first book in the Gumshoe Mysteries Series by Laura Hawks. This teen mystery book was a good read and held me until the very end. Today is Mia’s 15th birthday, her parents are called into the school to speak to her teacher and then her father is arrested. Then out of nowhere a cat shows up and starts talking to her! Instead of getting upset, she sets out with her new found friend to help her family and spare the family name. But now the only question is, will her snooping help her or be the end of Mia? You must read this to find out and I will say you WILL NOT be disappointed.

This is my first read by this author and it will not be my last. I found the story line strong, characters I adored, and a plot that held me till the end. Mia and Gumshoe really wormed their way into my heart and I cannot wait to read more in this series! 4 stars and highly recommended.

By Laura Hawks

Gumshoe And the Mysterious Mushrooms is book one in the Gumshoe Mysteries by Laura Hawks. Ok so I struggled a little with this book, but it was by no fault of the author as this book has been written perfectly. While this is not for me the younger audience are absolutely going to love it, they will also love the pace this book moves at. The book is centred around a 15-year-old girl by the name of Mia Thomas. Not only does Mia’s teacher need to speak to her parents, her father gets arrested and she makes friends with a cat named Gumshoe. If that isn’t enough, she has the knack of talking to and understanding cats. Mia and Gumshoe join forces to try and work out what on earth is going on with her family. Will they find out what is behind her fathers arrest? And what lays before them while they try and work out the issues.

This book was great! It was about a 15 year old named Mia and her familiar Gumshoe. Mia was a fantastic MC! She is bright and spunky and kind of adorable. Gumshoe is something else that’s for sure. He is a loud, coffee drinking, obnoxious cat that helps Mia solve mysteries! They have to careful though, because the case they’re on right now might be Mia’s last one if she doesn’t watch her back! She might be able to solve the mystery BUT being able to stay alive is going to be hard…

The story Joined: Book One by Mara Gan is a YA/Science Fiction/Romance book. It is a story that pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until that final page. She also is finding herself with an attraction to him. The bodyguard is determined to keep her safe. He also feels the pull of an attraction to her. Read this book for their full story. This is a book that has action, danger, and romance. There are times when I was turning pages wondering what was going to happen next.
