Just Exes is written by Charity Ferrell and I have read a few of her books and I simply adored this second chance romance. I fell in love with Ms. Ferrell’s writing when I read ‘Just One Night’ (Book #1) and ‘Just Her Body Guard’(Book #2), and when I saw this book there was no question, I knew I just had to read it. I have to say that this book was everything I had hoped for and expected from this great author. The characters are well written and amazing even with the emotional turmoil they go through. We also get to see the other amazing characters from books 1 and 2.
Lauren runs into her ex that she hasn’t seen in nearly a decade is never a good time. Running into your ex while he’s arresting you is humiliating. The handcuffs close around my fists at the same time he promises to hate me until he takes his last breath. I can’t blame him. He pleaded for me not to walk away. He doesn’t know leaving him broke my heart as much as it did his. It wasn’t for me. Rather, it was for someone else.
Gage skipped town after Hurricane Lauren obliterated his heart. Coming home was a hard choice he had to make. Arresting her isn’t. She has no idea of the demons he carry with him now. No idea that he is a new man. Two women ruined him. One he gave his heart to. The other punished him for it,
