My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow… I’m a bit of a mixed bag of emotions on this one. I read Primogenito, the first book in The Fuentes Legacy series, a year ago, and I really wish I had gone back and reread that one prior to starting this one again. One of the things that I get a bit mixed on with Greta Cribbs’s writing is that it’s extremely detailed. This is both a positive and a negative for me with her. I enjoy the scenery and character building. It makes me feel as if I am there with the characters and experiencing everything firsthand. It is also frustrating to read at times. I find myself having to go back or stop and rethink things and make sure I have my facts straight because it is super easy to get confused with her storylines. The writing is spectacular though and I enjoy the way the story has built so I have to see what comes next in the series. I do hope that we get a bit less detailed. I find it hard to give much away as far as the plot without spoiling too much so for the details you will have to read them yourself. I can say if you like twisty plots, adventure, deep dark secrets, and graphic and dark scenes then this is right up your alley.
