My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great read about a second chance. Tom is trying to get his life together with a job on a ranch after his bull riding career ended and his lover left him. His life is changed when Tallie arrives into his life and accepts him the way he is. Can he put the past behind him for a new future?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Tallie independent and a caring mother or Tom trying to make his life better even if it’s difficult. Great cast of supporting characters like the sweet Harlie or the banter nature of Clay. I loved the sense of family in the novel with the ranch workers all looking out for each other was a lovely touch.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel in the sense of the farm with its sights and smells as if you were actually there with the bulls and the horses and the hay. Or the barbecue scenes full of life and people but still claustrophobic for Tom so beautifully written. Loved the sense of the everyday in the novel with two people struggling through life and parenthood. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.
