Rising Star, by Susannah Nix, is the first book in the Starstruck series. This new adult/college romance was a humorous, real-life romantic read. Alice and Griffin were a hilarious pair of characters, from the parts they portrayed to the individuals they were to the lives they wanted to have. Alice was an independent woman, as much as she could be as a grad student pushing through her life. Along side that, Griffin is a rising star on the crest of something big, while trying to find time for his adorable Taco. This story was full of choices and shifts in direction. The roller coaster the characters embarked upon was a thrilling ride that was an absolute pleasure to read while watching these two find who they were each meant to be.
