Draigon Weather (The Legacies of Arnan Book 1) by Paige L. Christie – Review by Cindy Rushin

Draigon Weather (The Legacies of Arnan, #1)Draigon Weather by Paige L. Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I do love novels about dragons, but when I first started this book, I was a little lost. But, as I persevered, I found my way. The story of Leiel and Cleod was epic and I am glad I persevered. I love a good adventure with heroes and heroines, which Draigon Weather had. As you read you enjoy the duel, but separate path Leiel and Cleod take. These paths place them exactly where they need to be. The story was intriguing and fun to read. I look forward to the next installment to  follow Leiel’s and Cleod’s journey and how it plays out.

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3)Hitting The High Note by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the Four Horseman series and it did not disappoint. The story of Uriel and Veronica had some really interesting twists and turns as they found their way to each other. I really enjoyed following them on the journey. As for this series, each new story adds more pieces to the puzzle of what Dante is looking for. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series so that I can, hopefully, find the answer. I am never disappointed with a C.A. King novel and I do not think you will be either. I do recommend this book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Draigon Weather by Paige L. Christie is the first of The Legacies of Arnon book series. I was sucked into the story very quickly and did not want to put it down. There are great characters and story developments that left me wanting more. I really enjoyed the development of Cleod and Leiel. The friendship they share and how their lives are changed beyond their control is well done. I became invested in knowing what would happen to them next. I do not want to go into any plot points in the fear of giving something away. I look forward to the next book in this series.

My Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of CamelotMy Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My Life Series by Necie Navone is now available as a box set. If you have not read any of these books this is a must read series. Necie Navone’s attention to detail keeps the book alive in my mind’s eye. One thing I have learned is to make sure I have enough time to read the entire book in one sitting. The roller coaster ride has many twists and turns and even a loopy loop thrown in once in a while. There were several times when I yelled at the book and my dogs thought I was crazy. The story is about Alessandra and her mob family. Alessandra is in line to run the family one day. When she was a child of the age of 6 her life changed. Her father knew that Alessandra has to become a warrior who takes nothing from anyone. It was great to watch Alessandra grow into a confident young lady. Alessandra went from Princess when younger to the Queen of the Italian Family. The transformation is astonishing to read.I cannot wait to see what Necie Navone has in store in the future.

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C. A. King

5-Stars

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C. A. King was an excellent addition to the series. It can be read as a standalone and provides enough detail for readers who have not read the first two books to prevent confusion. As seen with the other two novels, the author begins the book with a brief history of what led to the current issue with the keys from past events. This book focuses on Uriel, Veronica, and Bekka and their role in the main story searching for the keys. Uriel is portrayed as a hunky red headed cowboy while Veronica and Bekka look very similar to each other. Only one of them is the key though. This story was fascinating and very different from the first to books. I loved the change and enjoyed that the story still easily flowed from page one to the end. The characters were also easy to relate to and at times frustrating. This story carried me away and I read it in one sitting. I highly recommend this book and the series and can’t wait to see what the next book has in store.

I enjoyed each of these books from the first to the last. This author created a series that takes obession and addiction, mixes them together to create a dangerous love or is it really love? The characters pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me engaged. Hayze and Taylor have great chemistry and bring the story to life. They bring drama and secrets that kept me turning pages. What will happen when said secrets are revealed? Is there a HEA in their future? I highly recommend this book.

This story is a little different for this author and I enjoyed it from start to finish. She still brings the romance but in this story she also brings in the cute animals to help her. It is a well written story about finding love where you least expect it. The characters including the animals make the story engaging and connectable. June has a passion for helping animals but love is not her strong suit until Carter. Will one Great Dane bring two people together? I highly recommend this book.

Dark Feathers is another incredible read from Natalina Reis, this is an epic Romantic Suspenseful Fantasy read that has you completely and utterly captivated, to the point I never wanted the read to end! I do have a love for fallen angel reads, and I had a series of fallen angel books that I absolutely adored, I can now honestly say, this book is now up there with them!

It had everything and more that I need from a fantasy read, it has some action, some adventure with a twist of suspense and then its made even better by it being a romance. I absolutely loved Phoenix & Joan they were real, relatable and lovable and I couldn’t help but be totally captivated by their journey/story.

Natalina Reis definitely has a way with words, she continues to captivate the reader with her incredible storyline and amazing characters. I want more of these characters, more of Phoenix and Joan’s story, it is a book not to be missed! This is an author not to be missed!

Journeys Through SpaceTime (Journeys Through Book 1) by James Talisman – Review By Sarah Oakes

Journeys Through SpaceTimeJourneys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great read about adventure. A mysterious voice calls out acrosss the universe, sounding in the heads of a multitude of people from different planets. It brings together a series of characters as events unravel and they are taken on a quest of adventure and danger. What does the voice really want from them all?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. A series of well developed characters like the brave warrior Cassius or Hirisho trying to make his father proud or the wise and kind Nerities. However, at times it felt like there were a lot or characters to keep track of and this could have been reduced to help the readee follow the story.
A great example of world building with a wide range of fantatsical beings and worlds with their own rules and laws and societies wonderfully written. I liked the feel of different worlds having different feels to them like the Egyptian or samurai soldiers, making the universe feel diverse and full of culture and life and people, wonderfully written.
I liked the mystery of the voice and what it wanted, making you want to read on to find out answers.
However at times, it felt like the book was more concerned with characters than describing the details of the planet in question to engage the reader. The switches between worlds were often jarring and hard to follow and could have deserved a chapter each to give this and the description justice. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

Toxic Blonde (A Johnny Delarosa Thriller Book 2) by David Stever – Review by Erin Wolf

Toxic Blonde: A Johnny Delarosa Thriller (The Delarosa Series Book 2)Toxic Blonde: A Johnny Delarosa Thriller by David Stever
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Toxic Blonde: A Johnny Delarosa Thriller (The Delarosa Series Book 2) by David Stever, 5 stars.

PI Johnny is back and this time his case involves yet another cheating spouse. But hey, there’s good money in it. Only, this isn’t so simple. His client quickly fears for her life, and then the client’s uncle comes to him and says that there’s much more than just the husband cheating. He sounds a bit paranoid, but Johnny quickly realizes that it may all be true. But who or what is behind it all? Just how far will they go?

I loved the first book and could not wait to read this second one. I was yet again blown away. The author pulls you in with action quite quickly, unlike some books who draw it out. Then there are the characters, both the returning ones and the new ones. I love Johnny and the people he works with, it’s so great to seem them all again. You get to meet quite a few new people attached to this new case too. Every one if them is interesting and you’re left with who is actually guilty — like the great Agatha Christie, you can see how each one could be a suspect.

This book harkens back to the great PI novels of old, but adds an updated approach with new technology and younger secondary characters. I love that Johnny himself as well as his partner are older, they’ve seen more and have a different take than the young detectives. In my opinion, this is not something we see enough of.

If you are a fan of the classic whodunit, but with an updated twist, I highly recommend this book and series. You do not have to read book one to follow the story, but I do suggest it since it is also so good.

Hi! I’m Brittany! I’m from East Texas where I live with my husband, son, and two dogs. I have a degree in Criminal Justice, and I used to work as a legal assistant for a criminal defense firm. These days I’m a writer and co-owner of Magnolia and Pine. I have a love-hate relationship with both CrossFit and wine. I have my days and nights mixed up, and I spend most of my time doing everything I can to avoid being productive.

I’ve always had a crazy imagination and I love writing. So, I started writing Forever Careless at the age of 21 to see if I had it in me. It was too much fluff for me, however my friends loved it. So, I wrote another; this time I pushed to boundaries of fluff.

One day, while in a very bad mood, I thought of a story without a happy ending. One with real problems and real people. A story that was very close to my heart. It nagged me constantly. Months later, I sat down and started Hazed. At first, he was going to be apart of the Forever Series. Just come in and wreck their lives. Instead, I went another route. Only weeks later, Hazed was finished. I was obsessed with it.

It took me over a year to finish my first novel and weeks to finish this one. I knew what that meant. I liked to write about bad people who do bad things. I like to get inside their minds and feel their crazy. So, if you’re looking for hearts and flowers, you won’t find them here. My stories are real and they aren’t pretty.

Devil's Dilemma (Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #4)Devil’s Dilemma by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil’s Dilemma is the fourth book in Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter series that is the spin-off of her original Satan’s Devils MC series. It is an absolutely smashing addition to the series and it lives us to the expectations that one has after reading ALL of Manda’s MC books! You can read it as a standalone BUT I recommend you to read them in order as you keep meeting the characters again and again from one book to another and you do want to get the connections and it helps to know their backstories!
The writer takes us on one heck of a ride with Melissa and Pyro and at times the turns and twists leave you breathless and going ‘oh my god, how is that possible!!’ I love the strength of a woman that Melissa has in bounds as the ride she will be on is not for fainthearted! I cannot share with you the twists and turns but I can promise you that you will not regret the time you will spend with the Colorado Chapter and Melissa and Pyro especially! The story is filled with pain and heartache and love and hope and it tells us the great story of how the lasting relationships are built on friendships.
It was also great to learn more about the Las Vegas Chapter and I hope that Manda will give us another spin-off series! I can see some goodness coming our way (wink, wink) …

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC is the second book in the Colorado Chapter series by Manda Mellet.

Looks like the love bug that hit Tucson found it’s way to Pueblo when Pal and Jayden moved up there. We’re going watch the club go from a bunch of single bikers to a bunch of giant scary looking teddy bears. The first Colorado member to go down with a fight is Demon.

Demon is the Prez of the MC and has no intention of settling down and getting married. Then he runs into his childhood best friend’s younger sister Violet and all bets are off.

Their story kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat, wait to see what was going to happen and to figure out why it all started. Violet seemed to fit in pretty quick but definitely had assistance.

Not sure how these bikers seem to find all the trouble and come out fairly unscathed but they do and I’m always amazed.

This entire series has been great, and I love this Colordo crew. Can’t wait to watch them all drop like flies.

This is the third book in the series and I have been eager to read it. The fight continues and the search for the key aka their mates continues. I really like how the author writes her take on the four horsemen of the apocalypse. The take that they are good is very unique.

This book is Uriel’s story and I really like how the author does not make it obvious and throws in little twists. I really like how the romance is underlying in this story and that there is just enough drama and a bit of mystery thrown in. I like how this story was not so straight forward and had a bit of twist. If the blurb doesn’t have you wanting to read this book then let me just tell you – Sugar & Spice doesn’t even begin to describe this book. Cy has never had a “REAL” job and his family has him going uncover in the family theme park. When Cy first lays eyes on Red Velvet Queen “Jolie” he has to know more about this beautiful woman. But will this single mother be able to forgive Cy when/if she finds out who he really is?

I am still a new reader to Phoebe Alexander but this series just became a must-read for me. All the characters were wonderful but there was just something about Cy and Jolie chemistry that made them click. I can’t wait for the rest of the series; it’s going to some fun times at the theme park.

My Life Series: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone

5++++ Stars

I have never read the first book of a series and then 3 smaller books that were a prequel to the actual series but it was completely awesome. This author has a forever fan in me as her writing is out of this world and this series is simply outstanding!! Below a short review of each of these books. This is Aless’s story and what a story it is!!!

Book 1 – My Hidden Life
I was so excited to read this book after finishing The Only One, we got a glimpse of Aless at the end of that book but this story starts when she was a young girl, the daughter of the head of a crime family who wants to shape her into the one that takes over the family when she gets older and marries whoever it is her father decides she will marry.
I highly recommend this story as well as the first in the Brothers of Camelot, I can already tell this whole series is going to be one that I’ll want to reread in the future.

Book 2 – My Tragic Life
Another awesome part of this series…Im so anxious to get to where we meet Aless in the 1st book of Brothers of Camelot I can’t hardly stand it. Aless is totally awesome and I have fallen in love with so many people in these books and just seeing how all of this plays out is like nothing I’ve ever read…I normally don’t like prequels after the fact but this has been done brilliantly in my opinion by this author.
Im left with What is going to happen??? These characters I love so much, how are they going to play in to all of this…the tie in to the first in the Brothers of Camelot is so spot on, I’m just so excited to finish this story but I don’t want it to end either. Like I said this author has me all kinds of messed up.. LOL

Book 3 – My Free Life
I was so scared to start this book because I just knew when I finished Id want to jump right into the second book of The Brothers of Camelot and that is exactly what has happened. I love how this author started the Brothers series and then went into these 3 prequels. The My Life Series was awesome and the way she pulled in the Brothers in this story was brilliant. This author has to have a pile of notes or a white board with all kinds of stuff on it because she didn’t miss anything. Everything ties in perfectly and I truly believe Aless’s story needed to be told and this just has me needing the next book like right now!!
This part of Aless’s story was so full of twists and turns and I just can’t wait to see how this will all play out in her future. She’s probably one of the strongest female leads I have ever read about and I do hope that where she is now and what is to come she is able to find her softer side but I’m thinking that she will still need all of her training because we haven’t experienced yet the reaction to her actions in this story, that transition happened a bit too easy and I have a feeling the repercussions are still to come.

Read this series…It is so amazing and having these in a convenient box set will make it so much easier when I reread them in the future!!!

LOVED LOVED LOVED!!!
