This book is captivating with its intricate and diverse characters. The author does a wonderful job building the fantasy world and balancing several different personalities and different species of beings. The intrigue and gradual development of plot details and secrets ensures that the story is not predictable, and keeps you interested and reading to see what will happen next. It is truly a great introduction to a new world and a new series.
