Beneath the Fallen City (The Omni Towers Series Book 1) by Jamie A. Waters. I find myself want to expand my horizons in the reading world so I was glad to pick up this book and give it a try. And I’m so glad I did. I found myself completely drawn into this world the author has created in a short time and found I really enjoyed the adventure I was taken on with Kayla and the other characters. Kayla’s character was one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon I just loved her attitude and found I really wanted to have a friend just like her. Like I said this was a bit outside my wheel house of reading but that being said I was impressed with the characters and storyline. It’s well written and paced nicely. It’s a unique story and I found myself not wanting it to end. I’m excited to see where readers are taken next. Four stars and highly recommended!

When I first read the synopsis of this book it didn’t really resonate with me. So, I passed it by on one or two occasions. One day when I just didn’t have anything else going on, I picked this book. And WOW I am glad I did. I have to say I am well and truly hooked into this series. In Beneath the Fallen City: The Omni Towers Series, Book 1 Jamie A. Waters has given us a world that is so well described you come away feeling like you are as familiar with that culture as you are your own. The two cultures in this book are meticulously described and so well fashioned. Kayla is tough, tough, tough and stubborn to boot. Right away you are sucked into wondering what could produce a young woman so hard-headed, and you just keep reading cause, you gotta know……right? Carl our hero of this story……or wait……maybe it’s Alec you just won’t know until you pick this one up and immerse yourself into the ruins and the Omnitower. There are some sexual situations that might be offensive to some, but this book gets a maximum rating from me and I really am looking forward to the next one.

This story is so good. I don’t usually read dystopian stories but thought I would give this one a try as I may get the chance to meet this author in a few months. I am so glad I did!

The setting of this story is after the apocalypse. People have been divided, obviously. Kayla is our main character. She is rough, tough and oh so sexy. She is completely awesome. She’s smart, funny and doesn’t take crap from anyone. She lives to find lost treasure. However, others want the lost treasures of the world as well. Carl being just one of them. Carl is also rough, tough and oh so sexy. He is a little higher on the social scale than Kayla but you wouldn’t know it. These two cause problems for each other as soon as they meet.

With some unexpected twists, these two end up fighting for love, humanity and basically world peace! The adventure Kayla takes is breath-taking and a little unbelievable. She learns things about herself she never even imagined.

I “hated” the way this story ended, mostly because I didn’t want it to end at all! So glad there is more!
Highly recommend this story!

Beneath the Fallen City by Jamie A. Waters a four-star read that will swoop in and save you. This is number one in the Omni Towers series and if the rest are as good then it shows great promise of being a series you wont want to miss, as this has some great world building and some great backstory for the characters, that for a single story wouldn’t work very well, but as a series shows great promise for the story. This is a great story of action and adventure with some love thrown in to change up the mix, Kayla is a great character and one you won’t want to miss.

Beneath the Fallen City (The Omni Towers Series Book 1)
By Jamie A. Waters
My rating 5 out of 5 stars

I love post-apocalyptic stories and this book definitely did not disappoint me. There is action, romance and drama, all tying together to make for an excellent read. The characters were very well developed and the story sucked me in right away.
Kayla is one of our main characters. She is strong and independent and can stand on her own. She works as ruin rat, finding artifacts to trade. Carl is handsome, and works as a trader for Omni Lab, who acquires the artifacts requested from kayla.
There is an immediate attraction between the two, but they also both despise each other because of their different backgrounds. Carl ends up wanting to recruit Kayla to be on his team and at the same time Kayla is being hunted.
This book is again, so excellent and well worth the read. I do hope we get to see more of Veridian and read more of his story as well but either way I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Kayla works with a group of other but is a girl who can hold her own. Carl is her nemesis and an official trader. He has a habit of ripping her off amongst others. These two are not able to live OmniLab Towers, they were built before the war and only allow select people who are usually wealthy. Find out what happens next in this must read. I grew to care about them with each chapter that I read. Kayla is intelligent, independent, strong, and stubborn. The story is well-written and creative. I also enjoyed reading about the other characters that are introduced in the book. The author does a great job in writing a detailed story. There are times that I felt like I was right there with the characters. It is a book I would highly recommend.

Beneath the Fallen City by Jamie A Waters is the first book in The Omni Towers series. I jumped right in and I am glad I did. This is a dystopian story with a science-fiction edge to it. Kayla is a survivor and tough to boot. When she becomes the hunted she has to team up with her enemy. I do not want to give more away because you need to read Kayla’s adventure to find out what happens. The writing is really well done and kept me reading from start to finish. I have never had the pleasure of reading anything by Jamie A. Waters previous to Beneath the Fallen City. I really just loved the cover and the blurb was just enough divulging that I really wanted to know what the whole story was. Beneath the Fallen City is the first of The Omni Towers Series. I felt like there is something for everyone with this book. You have the dystopian world that is post-apocalyptic. Of course there is the action and adventure that seems to accompany the genre but I like the drama and character stories. They add a flare that I feel lacks in a lot of the dystopian novels that I find myself reading. I definitely enjoyed our MC, Kayla. She is a strong voice and a strong woman who takes up the task without hesitation. I loved the world building as well. I felt as if I was in the far off world with Kayla as she scavengers and attempts to keep herself alive and in one piece. I am looking forward to seeing what the next books will bring. In the time I wait I will go and see what else might be available by Jamie A Waters.

Beneath the Fallen City (The Omni Towers, #1)Beneath the Fallen City by Jamie A. Waters

I give Beneath the Fallen City (The Omni Towers Series Book 1) by Jamie A. Waters.

Ok, this is a new author to me and it sounded good, but I have been disappointed so many times in the past, I had no idea what to expect. OH. MY. GOD. This book was so good! The story itself is original and captures you from the beginning, never letting go until the end. And there is so much to the story! I found at least two different spots where a other books might end, but the story just keeps going on. You definitely get your money’s worth buying this book. The story itself covers many feelings: despair, love, fear, hope, and some humor thrown in to make it a rollercoaster ride of emotions you will happily ride. The world building is superb too, the author totally paints the picture of what she envisioned and you feel like you are there.

But we can’t forget the characters. Kayla is a superb main character. She feels lost, her parents have been gone for so long and in one way or another has lost all those she loved. Her best friend is all she has. Then she meets more people along the way and she has to decide if she should open her heart or not. There are many decisions she has to make in the story, and she uses her heart and what she has learned to decide. Most people do not understand her, but that still hasn’t stopped her from caring. There are so many secondary characters I could mention too, but I do no want to give anything away. I can say though that each one — whether friend or foe — is individual and stands apart from the others. There are quite a few I hope to see in the next book.

Ok, I think I am done gushing now. I have found a new author to love and cannot wait to read the next book. Needless to say, I highly recommend this wonderful book!

Beneath the Fallen City (The Omni Towers, #1)Beneath the Fallen City by Jamie A. Waters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath the Fallen City (The Omni Towers Series Book 1) by Jamie A. Waters is a paranormal romance. It is a story set in the future where going outside could kill you and there is a distinct separation between the classes. The empowered in the tower and the ruin rats who make a living foraging for treasures.

Kayla has spent her life in the ruins looking for treasure, it gives her a sense of calming being there, but her methods have raised the notice of others. Some good some not so good. But what happens on a routine trade changes her life and who she is forever.

It is a well written story that will keep you fully engrossed to the dangers and goings on in the world that Jamie has created. Whilst I truly loved this story, I do not agree with the author (cause you know it is my story, lol) on the choice of Alec and Kayla together, it’s a NO from me. This needs to be fixed, (Jamie break that bond) because I fell in love with Carl.

Anywho, it is absolutely worth the read. Bring on more Kayla and Carl………………………….

One of the great things about Kindle Unlimited is that I can borrow books that I wouldn’t “normally” read.

BENEATH THE FALLEN CITY is the first book of what looks like a 6 book series (so far). Book 1 is a lot of world building detailing the who’s who and the what’s what.

There are a few weird twists and it seems as if the story line was being plotted as it was written. It changes direction and it never really puts itself back in the same direction again.

I will be adding book 2 to my TBR pile because I am curious enough to how the story continues.

Beneath the Fallen City is the first book in The Omni Towers Series by Jamie A. Waters. I really loved this book- the story really drew me in and had me avidly following along on this incredible journey. The story is a mix of dystopian, post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, fantasy, action, and adventure. It’s quite unpredictable and kept me guessing much of the time. With tension, intrigue, danger, secrets, revenge, discoveries, scavengers, traders, and plenty of drama to keep things moving along- I was completely captivated. I fell in love with Jamie A. Water’s stories, imagination, and writing style after reading “How to Kill a Fae”, just recently, and there began my fascination with her work. When I found this book- I knew I NEEDED to read it, so I grabbed a copy and dove right in.
What I discovered between the covers was an incredibly well-woven story full of rich and vibrant details which brought the whole story to life. The characters are cleverly crafted into fully realised interesting and complex individuals, with their own personalities, quirks, and flaws.
The world building is superb- Ms. Water’s skillfully created a complex, vividly detailed, and interesting world in which to stage her story. As I noted previously, her attention to detail is remarkable- giving the story much depth and complexity.
Kayla is a scavenger in this post-apocalyptic world- searching the ruins of cities for anything valuable as her means of survival. We join her on this adventure as her scavenging brings her to the attention of a trader intent on recruiting her- as well as a dangerous man who begins hunting her. She soon discovers that nothing is what it seems- and she is thrust into way more than she bargained for. And so the excitement begins.
This was such a fantastic start to the series- and I can’t wait to continue the adventure!

Thank you, Jamie A. Waters!

This book blew me away! Jamie A. Waters is an amazing storyteller. Her writing style reminds me of Sarah J. Maas in the way she pulls you into her world with captivating characters and a complex storyline. I fell in love with not only the main characters but the secondary ones as well. I’ve always loved strong female leads and Sabine is one kick ass lethal heroine.

She’s been on the run for the last ten years, hiding amongst humans. With two demons and a witch by her side to protect her she should be okay but the Wild Hunt never gives up. Sabine can’t help but be intrigued when a smuggler shows up with his own secrets to hide. She extremely attracted and his power is pulling her in but can Sabine trust him?

To Kill a Fae (The Dragon Portal Book 1) by Jamie A. Waters is a magical paranormal story that gets you right from the very first pages. This is a first for me with this author and I have to say I have found a new favourite. Jamie has done a great job with this tale that is exciting and intriguing, dynamic and vibrant. The characters are unique and an unruly bunch, but Jamie has done a wonderful job of making them come to life and pop off the page. With possessive demons, witches and pixies along with one kick a*se Fae, plus a stranger who is the captain of a ship that deals in smuggling and you have the recipe for one explosive nonstop action tale. I was so engrossed and entranced with this story that I had to stay up late to read each and every word. Who cares if you are tired the next day for work? Certainly not me, not when you have a gem like this one in your hands.

Sabine has been in hiding for many years from those who want her dead, but she has made some powerful friends who will not let anything happen to her but how will they stop her from hurting herself? Just how far will her enemies go to get what they want? Once the Wild Hunt begins there is no stopping it. Will she lose everything and everyone she loves?

I absolutely loved everything about this book. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.

A great read about secrecy. Sabine is a Fae living in disguise in the city of Akros. One night, she is tailed and ambushed by a group of men. She is saved by a man who is more than he seems. Sabine seeks to find out the truth of who is hunting herd despite the safety risks, fearful someone knows her identity. As events unravel, powerful forces come into play and the past returns to haunt her. Can you ever turkey stay hidden forever?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Sabine fierce and brave but caring underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the overprotective Dax or the more tender Bane.
I lived the visual detail throughout the novel like with the crypt with winding paths and standing stones for a sense of ancient magic and mystery. Or with the bar with the tree with the glass and the vines as beautiful in a deadly place. Or with the kaleidoscope with ti’s bold beautiful colours for a sense of wonder so vivid it’s as if you’re actually there..
I loved how the book drew the reader in at the start with the action and magic in a fantasy world. I also liked the use of suspense as details about the attackers and or Savines past were revealed slowly to keep you reading to find out what happened.
A great example of world building with fantatsical beings and creatures living alongside humanity with their own rules and laws and societies and customs. I loved the wide range of creatures like goblins and fae and demons giving the feel of a mixed society full of life and character and wonderfully written. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

I am SO glad I picked this up. It is attention getting right from Start. The writing in here seems to appeal to something in Me. I love the intrigue, the bits of information given and the relationships between the characters. It all keeps me going and wanting to know who, what, when, where and why.

This is filled with a plethora of wonderful and amazing characters. Pixies, witches, faeries, goblins and demons among others. I rarely say this but I came to enjoy meeting each one of them. Their relationships are so interwoven I couldn’t wait to figure them out. Who controls who? Whom are friends/hates who? Who is stronger? Who is lying and why? I was so happy to get these answered among others throughout the book.

The story is fast paced and is intricately woven to give me some Information. But I am a puzzler so I need to figure out the unasked questions. Therefore I could hardly put this down. Because just when I figured out one thing…another would catch my interest and I’m off again. Everything was explained so well and at the perfect time. Not too much background information at any given moment.

This is a first time author for me! I am impressed with the quality of work done on this book. I think she hit ALL the marks for a story well done. I absolutely LOVED it and highly recommend to all Paranormal lovers! I look forward to more from this author but especially these characters!
