What an amazing book! This one grabbed my attention from the summary and the amazing cover and then just never let go. Fast paced, action packed, I literally couldn’t put the book down until I read the very last page. From start to finish I found the story to be thrilling, thorough, and spellbinding. My emotions ran high and I connected immediately with the characters. I cannot wait to read more!

Landing the Lawman (The Hills of Texas Book 5) by Kadie Scott. Ok I feel like I’ve said this a time or two with this series but hey I really mean it this time! This one was my absolute favorite out of all this series. Don’t get me wrong they are all amazing but this one spoke to me differently and honestly I can’t put into words why but it did. Carter and Logan completely captured my heart from page on of this book. Each of them pulled me so deeply into their story that I didn’t and couldn’t put it down. You can read these in any order but I do highly recommend them all because they all stand to give you everything you’d want in a story. These characters just had a connection I could feel deeply. They worked well together and had me completely hooked start to finish. It’s a well thought out storyline and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I highly recommend this book, series and author. Five stars all the way!

5-Stars
Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series #1) by Phoebe Alexander was a very steamy read. I loved it. Sarah was an amazing woman. She was an excellent character in this novel. I loved her lifestyle and her strength. She was not only an amazing professor but a wonderful single mother of two amazing kids. She was unique and developed well. I also loved Rachel and James’ characters. Rachel was very outspoken and social. This book had an excellent storyline that was easy to follow. It was organized, creative, and descriptive. I highly recommend this novel and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This book is so cute! It has romance and drama, sweet moments and heartbreaking dialogue. The story of Zane and Shannon is beautiful. When Shannon meets Zane on a flight to San Francisco, I was wondering where and how this would lead them to being involved. The events leading up to them meeting again and their time spent together is all very intriguing to read and I had a feeling Shannon would be the woman to change Zane’s mind about serious relationships and move his heart. At one point I thought they were moving a little too quickly but given Zane’s age and the love he seemed to have for Shannon, I figured why not. Of course it can never be that easy and some heartbreak is involved, enough to make me question if this would ever work between them.
I would recommend this book to any romance lover, it’s a nice, quick read that I think will leave you satisfied. I really do hope there are more books to the series, more specifically centered around Shannon’s 3 brothers.

This is the first book I have read by this author, I enjoyed it. I will be looking for more from her. This is a suspenseful story that is well written and engaging. The characters are connectable and made the story feel real. Hal is a great character that has some money problems but when she recieved a letter about inheritance she may have found her way out of her mess. This is where the story really picks up and the twists and turns had me turning pages. The story started out slow but once it picked up, it took off and it was hard to put down. I highly recommend this book.

The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart is by Jacquie Biggar. This book is amazing. I seriously started it and didn’t put it down until the end. Its the story of Holly Tremaine a professional musician who is coming home for the holidays against her better judgment, after being in the hospital with a serious illness that caused her career to come to an abrupt halt. Her sister Susan ended up marrying the man Holly was in love with and now has a family with him so Holly knows its going to be uncomfortable. Holly’s parents are not the happiest couple either so that makes things even more tense. Levi Anderson is Steve’s brother who Holly had a drunken one night stand with after her sister’s wedding. He’s in town and wants more from Holly than another one night stand. Will Holly and her sister Susan work out their relationship, will Holly fall for Levi? Levi is determined to do what it takes to win Holly’s heart this time. Will Holly’s health be ok? This book is full of emotions and will have you up and down like a roller coaster! I loved it!

Kudos to Mark Nolan on his Jake Wolfe book series! I highly enjoyed them, they each had a great storyline and plot, and very likeable characters. I loved seeing how Jake progresses throughout the series. I loved the writing style, it completely gripped me. The humor was dark enough for me to love it! I loved the suspense, the thrills, and how well Nolan was able to build up the story that didn’t seem to drag on forever. I highly recommend this series and can’t wait to read more from Mark Nolan!

Brutal & Raw: Mafia Romance & Psychological Thriller (Beneventi Family Book 1) By Sonya Jesus 5 out of 5 stars
The story Brutal & Raw: Mafia Romance & Psychological Thriller (Beneventi Family Book 1) by Sonya Jesus is a dark and thrilling book that had me wondering what was going to happen next. It is a story that had me on the edge of my seat. It is the story of Breaker Beneventi and the one he calls 327. It is an emotional journey that includes twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Will Breaker find the girl that has escaped and could destroy his organization? Read this book to find out. This story pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. There are many different characters that are introduced besides the two main ones. They range from helpful to the downright dangerous. Some of them you have to wonder about their motivations, and some are only out for themselves. I found myself reading far into the night to find out the ending. The author did an amazing job of making me feel like I was there with the characters. This is the first book in a series and after reading it I can’t wait for the next one.

Mountains Wanted by Phoebe Alexander is the first book in the Mountains Wanted series. This is the start of yet another fantastic series by one of my favourite authors. When I started this book I knew that I had to set aside the whole afternoon as once I picked it up I would not be able to put it down. I was hooked immediately with this book, drawn in to the stories and the characters. The characters did work well together and I liked the development you could see between them. At first their relationship was a little awkward but it became so much more. I really enjoyed seeing this instead to two perfectly made people. The story had enough romance and action to keep it interesting and fast paced. It was a brilliant start to the series and I cannot wait for the next one.

Chasing Starlight: Cassandra’s Story by Matilda Reyes and Jennifer Siddoway is a story in the Daughters of Night Chronicles. This book is a brilliant read and one that you will not want to put down once you start! Both of these authors are new to me and this book is a great way to learn about them. The whole book was so well written – both the characters are the story line are developed perfectly, with just the right amount of suspense and excitement. The story was different to other books I have read in this genre. It felt fresh which made it, for me, even more exciting to read. This was a fantastic book and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. I cannot wait to read more by these authors.

Landing The Lawman is the 5th book in the Hills of Texas series by Kadie Scott. I have to hang my head in shame and admit that I still haven’t read the 1st book in this series although I have read books 2-5. I really must get around to reading the first book as I’d love to read Cash’s story. In this book we get the story of the 5th Hill sibling, this time the one and only girl Carter, twin sister of Cash. Carter has recently broken off her engagement as she decided to put her career first, having spent many hard years working for her masters, then her PhD. Carter helps in many cases for lawyer Logan Cartez and now that she’s single she’s starting to see him as more than a friend. Logan has always admired Carter but as she was engaged, kept their relationship strictly professional. Now she’s broken off her engagement what can the future hold for Carter and Logan? Having read about her brothers, I was impatiently waiting for Carter’s story. It did not disappoint. I loved this story and was pulled in right from the first page. The interactions between Carter and Logan are so funny at times as she tries to get the stuffy lawyer to loosen up and enjoy life more. The more time he spends with her, she drags him more and more out of him comfort zone. Will Carter be able to have the career she wants and have a relationship too? Will spending so much time with Carter make Logan realise that he has missed out on so much? I recommend that you read this fantastic book to find out. While you are there, I also recommend that you read the rest of the series too as it really is awesome.

Sky to Sea is the second book in the series, Crimson Sash by Amanda Marin. I would highly recommend reading the first book, North to Nara to enjoy Sky to Sea fully. Marin has created a beautiful world for the backdrop of this dystopian book. Her characters just fly off the page. This story is about Neve and Micah. They are living in a shelter for refugees as they are trying to get citizenship before they are deported back to the Nation.I have found myself flipping through the pages as I wanted to know what lies ahead for Neve and Micah. It was a roller coaster for sure. I love the twists and turns. What will happen to Neve and Micah? Will they be trapped in between the worlds or will they be able to gain citizenship to live in New Republic?

I will be the first to admit dystopian is not my go-to read genre but once I had read the first book of the Crimson Sash series I knew that I would need to know more and be back again with Amanda Marin and her fabulous collection of characters that we get to know and love in this series. These books are romance but geared to young adults so most of the romance is pg at best so that can be a nice refreshing change of pace if you read a lot of erotica or dark stuff normally.
I really enjoyed reading about Neve and Micah and really I just fell in love with them as a whole. These two are some strong young adults with old souls I felt as I was reading. They kept me engaged and I never found myself overwhelmed with made up jargon or over detailing so that is also a plus with these books. Sky to Sea was probably my most favorite yet and I honestly can’t wait to see what we will get with the next book. I will be back again for sure!

Wow that was one heck of a ride with Brutal & Raw: Mafia Romance & Psychological Thriller, the Beneventi Family. I could not put this book down, literally from the moment I saw the cover. Once I did have it I couldn’t wait to see if it the story inside would live up to the epic cover that graces this novel. I have always appreciated the way Sonya Jesus can take a dark and twisty world and still make it feel as if you are reading a fairy-tale at times. This one however takes the cake, and has become my favorite of her to date!
In Brutal & Raw we have the story of 327, a woman who has found herself among the worst of the worst and in a mafia ring she can’t escape. She meets Breaker there and he completely shatters her first impressions about all of it. Breaker is one of those Alpha’s that you want to hate and not fall for but I can assure you that by the end it will be hard to deny the goodness that hides in the soul bathed in darkness. I loved all the twists and turns and I can’t wait to see where things will go with the next book.

Mark Nolan has given us a present and has packed the first three books in his Jake Wolfe series into one bundle box set! The set includes Dead Lawyers Don’t Lie, Vigilante Assassin, and Killer Lawyer. There is also a fourth book – San Diego Dead – that you need to get separate if you fall in love with the series like I did! The first book, Dead Lawyers Don’t Lie, introduces us to Jake Wolfe who is a lawyer but who originally was not on the mysterious killer’s wealthy San Francisco lawyers kill list. He unfortunately happened to take is picture and so does the deadly game of cat and mouse start. The first book gives you a taste and you will get addicted as Mark Nolan is mixing drama, suspense, mystery, crime, military, flashbacks, sexy women … you name it and he has included it! Jake Wolfe is a military veteran who has a secret past and in the opening act he is working as a photo journalist for a local news channel! What a great way of stumbling into something that one would never want to stumble into, a murder! The writer also gives us Jake’s military dog Cody who is a character in his own rights and I think all of us will think that ‘I wish I had a dog like Cody’ after reading the book. The second book, Vigilante Assassin, takes us deeper into the amazing world that Mark Nolan has created! Vigilante Assassin is a story filled with action and suspense and mystery … I loved the way the writer is spinning the story, it pulls us in and we feel we are next to the action taking place … I loved how Cody ‘talked’ and how much it all gave to the story, creating another layer … At times I felt though as if the way the writer had Jake speaking that it was too short but the more I got into the story, the more I grew comfortable with it and I felt that it actually added to the story … Not only do we hear Jake and Cody’s thoughts, we also ‘hear’ the other characters’ thoughts, what an intricate weave! Killer Lawyer is the third book in Mark Nolan’s Jake Wolfe series and what a story it is! I have to say that the writing gets better and better with each book! The writer is a master of intense action thrillers and you are guaranteed a head spinning rollercoaster ride! You could read the story as a standalone but you would miss out of having met Jake and Cody and Sarah (Jake’s girlfriend who is a veterinarian) and seen how they began! In Killer Lawyer our ex-marine lawyer turned Jake Wolfe with his war dog Cody are thrown into find out who is the serial killer who seems to be killing random people … These two get involved when one of Jake’s friends is killed so we are getting a story of revenge and survival and outsmarting of the killer! I loved complex story line and the interaction between the characters, the companionship and comradery among the men, the bond between Jake and Cody, the longing for peace and quiet and at the same time the need to step in and right the wrongs! AND add to this the alternating point of views, oh my, to be in the head of that evil killer … chills along your spine! If you love a good suspense story that grabs you and doesn’t let go and has unforgettable characters then you’d better pick up the bundle!

A Sun So Bright was a great 5 star read and book three in the Reigning Hearts series.
Its New Years eve and Fiona is at a party with her best friend Petra and her husband. She is the only one alone and finds herself thinking about her father and the one that got away. Petra has set Fiona up in the past which turned out to be a disaster so she refuses to let her do it again. Coming into a lot of money, men are intimidated by her.
Where was her forever when she needed him most?
When she finds a seat in the hotel bar she meets a bartender that happens to recognize her from another evening that she is trying to forget. Chris remembers Fiona and is glad to see her again, she is beautiful. When she invites him back to her place he is surprised, at what Fiona offers him, pretend to be her boyfriend. Needing the money he accepts.
Can they convince everyone they are a couple? Will they be able to keep their hearts out of it?
Overall I really enjoyed this story, both Fiona and Chris have a connection when it comes to their fathers. Fiona is the classic spoiled rich princess, but Chris is exactly what she needed to ground her. There were some twists and turns and emotional moments. Their story really pulled me in and I didn’t want to stop until I was done. The ending was perfect, I loved it. This can be read as a standalone. 1-click and get started today.

How do I start? Can I just say I seriously would love to throat punch Phoebe Alexander right now??? LOL! I won’t tell you much about the book because you can read the blurb and find out what it’s about. What I will tell you is how it made me feel. This book absolutely crushed me emotionally! I kept having to put the book down the closer I got to the end because I was crying so hard I couldn’t see the pages anymore!
When I started this book I thought it was really good…hot, steamy, sexy…everything I love in a good romance. I loved learning about Sarah and really connected with her and her views on relationships throughout this book. The way she handles her children and their questions was so impressive. I was totally invested in them early on. So I’m reading and getting somewhat frustrated with her and her choices as the story proceeds. Well…by the time I was about three quarters of the way through, I was done for! Sarah’s emotions hit me so hard! I was torn up from that point to the very last page! Then I cried for about an hour after I finished!
This book was so good and I honestly can’t recommend it enough! And while it does end, it is somewhat of a cliff hanger that will have you screaming for the next book in the series! You will fall in love with all of the characters in this story. Smile, cheer, and laugh with them. Sob, hurt, and ugly cry with them. Well done Ms. Alexander! 5 stars and then some!

5-Stars
Brutal & Raw by Sonya Jesus was a thrilling read. I could not put this book down. I was shocked at first with how quickly the author moves the reader through the terror and horror of what the mafia was doing. Wow. I was at the edge of my seat. I also lived the main characters and how well they were developed. They were easy to visualize as the story progressed and realistic. This was such an invigorating and addictive read. I highly recommend it.

Do you want a dark story that will keep you reading into the night? How about on the edge of your seat? Well I couldn’t put this one down! The story left me Brutal and Raw! This isn’t your normal hearts and flowers read. It is dark, suspenseful and thrilling. The characters are evil, difficult and manipulative. I couldn’t get enough of them! Being inside Breaker’s head…I am twisted up! I can’t even say whether I like or hate Breaker for his choices and decisions. 327 is strong! She struggles with herself over thoughts and feelings, living or not living. Does she want to be free of him or free with him?
This is not my first book by this author. Each one is better than the last. This story blows me away! The characters are so hard and difficult but yet a small glimmer of softness. But Day-Um she knows how to manipulate my heartstrings with them. I will tell you she doesn’t give all the answers. I can’t wait for the next one!

This is not what I expected for Carters Story. This is better! I love the humor and attitude she has. I don’t think I could love this family any more than I do. They make me laugh, cry and just smile a lot when I’m reading.
Now I have many favorite parts of this book but DAYUM!….Who knew Lawyer talk could be so HOT! Logan knows just how and when to use those words! I don’t think I could be in a courtroom with him after that and not be *uncomfortable* (if you know what I mean)
Logan….Logan….Logan…I love how straight laced and focused you are! But the winds of change are upon you. It’s nice to see you start breaking your mold. That last scene with you and the family??? I would have been sweating bullets or peed my pants…but you hung in there like a champ!
As always I loved seeing and hanging out with all Carters family! The brothers are a hoot in this one. Glad their wives are there to reign them in.
Overall this his highly enjoyable! The writing is so smooth. I am captured from the first paragraph and I can hardly do anything else until that last page is read. Of course then I am sad it’s already over. I will miss this crew until I pick up a book for a re-read.
*nod to the author* I LOVE the play on words with the title. Very cute! Also the jobs these two have were interesting to learn about. Thank You for these great stories!

This was such a great read. The chemistry between Shannon and Zane was instant and couldn’t wait to see where it went and how it unfolded. Shannon was strong and I loved her little quirks, i mean of course we women talk to ourselves we need expert advice after all! Zane is a confirmed bachelor and we don’t learn the exact reasons until almost the end. He feels Shannon is different and tries to distance himself from her in the emotional way as to not develop feelings.
I really liked these two, and I yelled at my kindle twice as they made stupid decisions or comments and I wanted to hit their heads together.
I hope we get more books as I want the brothers stories as they’re going to be good I know!

Covert Threat is the 5th book in the Gray Ghost series by Amy McKinley. It can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading the whole series, as all have been wonderful. The characters only slightly overlapped, and enough details were given that you wouldn’t feel like you were missing half the story. I have loved them all so far, and this book did not disappoint. The characters are great, and I loved that the female lead wasn’t a total push over, but was a strong, brilliant woman. I liked how their relationship developed slowly and you could feel their connection. It was a perfect mix of action, romance and mystery, with the full picture only being revealed at the end. The pieces gradually fell into place. This story follows Trev and Jules, as they work together to solve a mystery. Jules is being threatened by an unknown, and Trev is hired by her boss to find out who is the threat and to keep Jules safe. She is a genius scientist and her research and developments are vital to her organization. While Trev is being paid to protect her, soon they develop feelings for each other and he wants to keep her safe, even without the money. I don’t want to spoil any surprises, so just read the book!

I loved this book. This is the first book in this author’s new series, I can’t wait for the second book. I have read all of this author’s books and this is my favorite yet so far. This is a well written story that has a little bit of everything in it including suspense that left me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what was lurking in the shadows. Her characters are connectable and both good and bad which makes the story engaging and a page turner. Lyla is on the run from the mafia boss but she is also the one that has the control to bring his organization down. She is a great, strong character that has a great control but what will she do with it? I highly recommend reading this book and find out what happens next.

He wanted everything. He could have my nothings too.
My whole life, I’ve been running, living just under the radar. The day I arrived on the East Coast, looking for a new start, I found an end instead. One careless night landed me in the hands of a dark mafia boss, who wanted nothing more than to render me a number—to eviscerate my identity with his brutal mind game.
327.
That’s what he called me. That’s all I was to him.
At least at first, before Breaker Beneventi told me all his family secrets, trickled his way into my heart, and then ordered my death. He set me free, knowing the butcher would find me.
Now, I’m the girl who escaped. The one with the power to destroy his organization. And he’s relentlessly searching for Lyla Vaughn all over the country, spilling the blood of innocents and losing his control.
But he’s not going to find me. Because that’s not my name.
From Bestselling author Sonya Jesus comes “Brutal and Raw” a psychological thriller romance full of plot twists, interwoven with dark mafia romance.
Sonya’s a nerd—a cool nerd—who loves science, books, make-up and unicorns. She even has unicorn slippers and unicorn plushes adorn her office. It’s not an obsession (or so she says), it’s simply an ode to her imaginative side. Storytelling has been her passion since her youth, but her family believes it’s more than that.
Painting, sketching, carpet-making, lyrics, poetry—artistic endeavors have no limit with Sonya. They may not always come out perfect, but art serves as an outlet, which helps balance out the factual, science-driven part of her brain.
Though she’s fun-loving, complex-minded, and heart-driven, her philosophy on life is quite simple: Shit happens. Keep going.
When asked to elaborate, she said, “Believing in yourself is probably one of the hardest things to do, but look in the mirror. You’re still standing. That’s strength. Don’t underestimate yourself.”
Sonya also believes in fairytales and in the beautiful things a mind can conjure. She’s a firm believer in empowering the crazy fictional ideas, putting them down on paper, and letting them flourish into a story.
“There’s so much potential in a dream… a thought… not exploring it seems like such a waste of something absolutely beautiful.”

This book is a fantastic beginning to a series I look forward to devouring. Grand world building with relatable characters, Hart has introduced me to a beautiful new universe to dive into. I found the book well paced and beautifully detailed. It felt epic and complete. A wonderful introduction to the author and her series. I can’t wait to continue the saga!

Mountains Wanted (Mountain Series Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander. I have loved every single book by this author!!!! She has easily become one of my absolute favorites. Dr. Sarah Lynde is a sociology professor, single mom raising 2 kids and what one would call a free spirit when it come to sex. She has fun with whomever she chooses and likes to keep her options open. While giving a lecture, she sees a young, sexy guy. James McAllister, is not only hot and sexy, but he is also a military guy. He is a ROTC instructor and he has his sights on Sarah. First meeting for coffee, which seems harmless enough, and eventually starting a friends with benefits relationship. (This is where my review gets difficult for me) Sarah is not looking for a serious relationship and for the last few years, has “seen” multiple people at the same time. Can James be a game changer for her? Did she find love when all she was looking for was fun? James has always wanted to get married and start a family. When he meets Sarah, is he prepared to change his direction or is Sarah just a fill in until he meets “the one”. I am looking forward to reading Book 2 in this series to find out what is truly in store for Sarah and James. Will Fate bring them together or are they meant to just be friends?

I sincerely can not say enough good things about Phoebe Alexander’s novels and the way she manages to take a taboo or unfamiliar subject and spin it into the beautiful love stories that she pens. Mountains Wanted is a perfect example of that and a series that I have come to love a lot! These new covers, make you want to read the book just from them alone too. In Mountains Wanted we get the story of Dr. Sarah Lynde, a single mum of two and a professor. We also get a glimpse of her polyamory way of life that she lives with her beaus that come into play, James McAllister and others that will come into the picture as well.
I adored how this was so real and raw. I personally live a poly lifestyle so for me this book was such a close hit home. Communication is something that we are always working on, 24/7/365 it is very necessary part of the polyamorous life. You get that from reading Sara’s story and can see how things work a lot like they would in a traditional or mainstream relationship, just multiplied by the amount of people that you find your soul connected to.
One note I want to make is that this book is the beginning of a fabulous series and this story will not wrap up in Mountains Wanted. You will want to read the next book and the next I can promise you that but just a heads up because I know some like to start series all together. I can’t wait to dive in deeper in the next book, Mountains Climbed!

WOW!! I loved the first book of this series but I think this one was even better, I have become so emotionally invested in all of these people …I’m not normally a huge dystopian fan, and also not a huge YA fan, but let me tell you if taking YA and dystopian and throwing them together gives me this? Im sold. Throw in some awesome clean romance and I’m done.
Not sure how to explain this author’s style of writing except smooth and with feeling because I felt it all. I’ve even got the whole picture of their room, the park, everything described in this story I saw it clear in my mind. I was literally transported into the story. It was awesome!
Neve and Micah might just be 2 of my favorite characters ever. They were both just so sincere…I just can’t say enough about this whole book. Simply amazing! You truly have no idea what is going to happen or why from one page to another and I could not put it down!
This is a continuing storyline, although it may be possible to read this as a stand alone i do not recommend it and it’s so good you won’t be sorry reading them in order. It does not end in a holy moly throw your kindle kind of way, but does end where you feel like you wont make it till the next is released. Not sure what is in store for Neve and Micah but I know I’ll be one of the first in line to find out!!
