Iris is the newcomer in close-knit Salvation, West Virginia. It’s a small town, and she’s finding out that the townspeople don’t view outsiders with a favorable eye. Things take a turn for the worse and Iris finds herself dropped out of school, homeless, and exposed when Sheriff Stone arrests her father. Mr. Anu is telling her crazy things about what she is and what she’s meant for. And then she meets the handsome and driven Jacob. She feels drawn to him, even though he doesn’t seem to want to return the favor.

She’ll have to decide if she believes in Mr. Anu, in soulmates, and most of all in herself. Will she be able to do all of that? Especially when she sprouts . . . fur?
