Revel (The Howl Series Book 1) by Alden Elway – Review by Sara Shalovelo

Revel (The Howl Series, #1)Revel by Alden Elway
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If it has teeth, claws and fur – I’m in because I’ve always been a sucker for a good werewolf story. So stumbling upon this book, I had high hopes and expectations too. I always do for a werewolf story so I took no time in devouring it.
I got about a quarter way through and I seriously considered about stopping. It felt dry, slow and I felt like there wasn’t really anything to sink my teeth into. With much thought, I decided to keep going and then suddenly, the pace picked up. It drew me in slowly and before I knew it, I was completely pulled in and lost all track of time.
The story became more than just about a girl, stuck between two worlds. It became about a woman, torn between duty of who she is and who she wants to be.
So, even though this story starts a little dry and heavy, trust me when I say it’s a diamond in the rough. You’ll fall in love with the characters as they grow each chapter, cheering them on every step and stumble of the way. Then, before you know it, the story will have completely devoured your attention, leaving you hungry for more.
