Like Wind Against Rock by Nancy Kim – Review by Colleen Noyes

Like Wind Against RockLike Wind Against Rock by Nancy Kim
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Like Wind Against Rock was my first book by Nancy Kim and I enjoyed it very much. The author did a wonderful job of storytelling. Her writing style was smooth and engaging and I found myself settling into the story very quickly. The characters are all realistic and each has their own story. I enjoyed that you got to know each character intimately so for me the character building was incredible and connected very well. The mother made me laugh out loud more than once because you could just feel that she was coming into her own and I could picture her little antics. They relationship between the mother and daughter felt real and comfortable and I thought the author did a very nice job of pulling it all together with different perspectives and the main secret wasn’t shoved down your throat, but instead I felt it was slowly built up to. I really enjoyed this book and while it is not one I would normally choose I am so glad that I did.
