Sizzling hot short stories. Great for the book lover who has a bit of time to listen to one story and then get stuff done. Great before bed if you get caught up reading through the night. The stories range from vampires, to babysitters, to threesomes, and to virgins. A little bit of sexual exploration for everyone’s interest. Some of these stories I would actually love to read the entire book. Leaves you wanting more. Enjoy.

Carnival of Shadows is the second book in the Black Water Magic series. I didn’t realize this was the second book in the series when I picked it up, but you can catch on to the story fairly quickly without having read the first book. Although, I feel like I would have connected better to the characters if I’d read the first one. Especially since it felt like Teagan went from one guy right to the next when it’s clear she still has feelings for the first guy. I think if I’d read book one, maybe that wouldn’t have seemed so abrupt. Context matters. The story line was interesting. Teagan seems to be a bit rough around the edges, but that could just be because her character is still mourning the loss of her grandmother and trying to deal with everything at the same time. The only character that I really connected to was Sean. So, again I’m going to say, it’s probably a good idea to read the first book before this one. All-in-all, it was a good read. It’ll be interesting to see where things go from here.

This book was very interesting and different from what I’m used to reading. It took me a little to get use to it and the way it was written, but once into it, I found it interesting to see how the author was able to write about civilization and the way that every type of person thinks differently towards there environment. Example is a ship lands on a new plants there are animals and plants around, this group starts killing the animals and really not caring what they do while another group of people, who got ran off by the first people, used the plant as a resource and, growing fields for harvest, saving the animals. The women in this book thou are considered less then men at first, but they influence the men and trick them into doing what is right in some instances. This book makes me feel like its world starting all over like us, were we didn’t have cars or mirrors, and that they evolved to make things and start civilization. All in all, a really interesting and enjoyable read.

What a great children’s book! Morning the super bird has such a big heart. When he sees the problem of extinction he doesn’t just sit there and get mad, he gets others involved. This book is a great way to show kids you don’t have to be a grown up to help when they see something wrong in the world. Empowering our children to believe that their actions are important is the first step to changing the world.

I loved this book! It was a very cute and educational way to teach children ways to help the earth by playing to their love of animals. I myself am a bird lover, especially owls, so even though I am an adult I enjoyed it.
Its about a young bird named Mornin who decides to tape his flying adventures. He comes across sculptures of birds that no longer exist and is determined to make sure it doesn’t happen again. He gathers up all his animal friends and passes on his findings. The book then gives children ways to help make sure that the birds stay safe.
I would definitely recommend this read to anyone with kids!

Overall, the story was a decent, quick read though I did have a heard time getting involved in this story. I would have liked to see more depth of the characters though I do understand that since it was short that is not always easy to do. The base of it is enjoyable and I really liked the character connections between Fiona, Connor and Lach. I would read more from this author and would like to see other types of books from her.

Jumping into this story, I knew I would be in for a wild ride. What really pulled me wanting to reading this story all starts with Sophie. Sophie had been injured, losing a leg below the knee and is a wheel chair. She’s being hunted by her best friend’s ex boyfriend and her saving grace is a biker gang called the Satan’s Devil. My favourite thing about Sophie is she isn’t just the girl next door. She’s got a mouth and isn’t afraid to use it. She struggles with her trauma and tries to overcome it and grow from it too. The helping hand comes from the most unlikely of places, from Wraith. Meeting Wraith, the VP in the gang, he is the walking-talking epitome of a VP biker gang member. His inner thoughts are laughable but when I wasn’t in his head, it felt like I was reading a totally different character. This story felt like a movie, as it is fast pace and full of action, and if your into biker gangs than this would grab your interest.

This story was laid out nicely. The strong memory that Cade had of Nadia was well thought. I also liked the personal reasons that guided them together. The connection from their past encounter and their present was clever. I didn’t get a strong sense of suspense as I’ve seen in other reviews but the story was carefully thought through. I appreciated the shorter story because I feel that the length may have drawn it out and impacted the feel of the story.

This book had a nice story but I had difficulty embracing Giana’s character. Sergio’s romanticism was great but their chemistry wasn’t a complete sell for me. I did appreciate the women tapestry of the past and present, mirroring what was god on against what had already transpired. I loved the pieces of history and the connection to art. I also enjoyed how the characters fit in together and Giana’s relationship with the parties that were her present but also how it connected with her past. The fountain scene was my favorite!

This is one twisty thrilling ride! I loved every second! I never knew what was going to happen next. The story and the characters are both unpredictable. There are many twists and turns that had me going “wait…what just happened?” I could not read this book fast enough. It really drew me in and kept me entertained.
The characters are plentiful but the main ones are Divine and his team. There are also those characters I love to hate. To pick a favorite character is tough. Valerie is cold and calculating but she also embodies strong female. I was impressed with the devotion Lance showed the family. Hunter is a strategically smart guy. I also liked the random “muscle guys” that were in here..they added some comic relief the second time we see them.
I enjoyed this intricate puzzle piece thriller. The author did an outstanding job putting this all together. I really enjoyed the very end of the epilogue. It rounds it all out nicely.

Book Review: Turning Wheels: Satan’s Devils #1 Author: Manda Mellett Five Stars Manda Mellett is a new to me author, thank goodness for my Kindle Unlimited subscription I get to meet all these new authors and fall in love with their characters and stories. Turning the Wheels is a 1% Motorcycle Club book about the Satan’s Devils and Sophie. Sophie came to them to hide from a man who was trying to hunt her down to torture and kill. Wraith turns into her hero in this story, among other things. There are many twists and turns to this story and to find that Sophie acutally has a few things in common with the men in Satan’s Devils is really cool. The way they come together to help each other is pretty cool. Loved this book and I will be picking up more of them. KLH

Mornin the Super Bird: Mornin Finds a Way to Stop Extinction is such a cute book and the illustrations are to die for. I was able to read this book to my granddaughter, who just fell in love with Mornin and the quest to stop extinction. I think it was a great way to show how all species and living beings can and should work together to save species from going extinct. Mornin is such a sweet character and really inspired my granddaughter to do better in her treatment of all living things. I am in love with this book and the author. It is so important that children learn to work together for a greater cause and this book provides the inspiration to do just that. What a great lesson to learn in such a cute and easy to understand way.

Forged By Secrets by Amy McKinley is the 3rd installment of the Deadly Isles Special Ops series. This story tells us the story of Tyler and Malina. I’ve read the two prior books in this series and I have enjoyed them all. I appreciate this book because it gave us more of a story within the SEAL team dynamic and how all the storylines are intertwined. Malina’s backstory is actually my favorite of the main female characters of this series. She brings more depth to the series by the past she has endured and it adds to the level of trust and faith she places in Tyler to help her when she is framed with treason. Also, the level of respect within the main male characters of this series, all brothers, is fantastic. All the main characters are likable and have been fun to get to know throughout all 3 books.

Mornin The Super Bird: Mornin Finds a Way to Stop Extinction is a wonderful children’s book with a major teaching moment by Jules Heartly. This is the first book I have read by Jules Heartly. I look forward to reading this book to my grandchildren. This story features Mornin, The Super Bird, as he flies around taking videos. One of his videos is of statues of extinct birds and other animals. When he showed it to his friend they decided to get the information out to everyone. This story is filled with hints about saving the world. I would definitely recommend everyone read this book to children of all ages.

This was such a good read. The author takes you on a journey full of twists and turns that keeps you guessing from beginning to end. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen there is another surprise that you don’t see coming and changes the whole story.
The author does an amazing job with the characters and how they all twist and turn and link with each other in ways you don’t expect. What starts out as a story about a girl that goes missing 20 years ago turns out to be so much more and this had an effect on so many more lives. I really enjoyed this book and wasn’t able to put it down until I got to the end and found out the truth. Be prepared for a journey full of secrets and lies and people who aren’t who you think they are.

I will read absolutely ANYTHING this author writes. I love her ability to tell a story and make it seem so real and easy to follow. I find myself picturing every scene and believing everything that is going on. I used to love dystopian novels until some of them turned into more of a fantasy world than how I’ve always looked at the dystopian genre. This hit every mark for me on what I love about a dystopian story.
There was a lot of Catholic religion mixed into this story, alot of doctrine and tradition which was all spot on. It didn’t mean you had to be a Catholic or supremely religious person to get completely wrapped up in this book and this story of this young man. I guess it’s more of just having a belief that there is something that connects us all even if it can’t be explained.
I was completely lost in this book while I was reading it. Could not put it down and felt like I couldn’t read it fast enough. The next thing I knew it was over. It ended too quickly only because I didn’t want to put it down and think of starting another book. I wanted to stay in Ruth and Jeremy’s world a little longer and learn more about how they lived day to day. I loved everything about it and will read it again in the future, maybe a few times.

It is a story of good and evil. I loved the mix of characters. There were some places throughout the book that I just had to laugh (wait until you get to the goat!). It did take me a few chapters to get in deep to the stories as I flet that I was missing something by not having read the prior book. But once it caught me I could not read fast enough. Oh and the warewolf is WOW – I would love to find one for myself!

Competing with the Star by Krysten Lindsay Hager is book two of The Star Series. You should read book one before reading this one to get a good background on the characters and how they got to where they are in book two.
This book has the drama! Hadley and Nick are together after all the drama in book one and have a real bond. Things start spiraling out of control when Hadley realizes Nick had a crush on her friend. Insecurity sets in and threatens to ruin everything. Will Hadley be able to trust Nick?
This book would definitely be suitable for young teenagers. It was well written and the characters are great. Insecurity in young girls is very relatable. I think Hadley didn’t give Nick enough credit but I can see where it would be difficult too. I enjoyed the book!

Intriguing and suspenseful A very well written and unpredictable thriller. Molly is easily relatable, at times I felt she was younger than her actual age but this was a deliberate execution by the author. The twists and turns kept coming and the story unravelling as the past and present collide. I really enjoy Jessica Aiken-Hall’s books and this is another that I highly recommend.

This is a great collection of seven short stories with fire and excitement. The narration is brilliant and really draws you into to each story with passion and wanting more.
Although these are short books, they wet your appetite for you to want explore them further and want to know what happens, so I wish some of these novellas will be turned into full length novels but we will see.
For something to listen to they are short enough for a car journey but watch who you have in the car as some of these can be pretty raunchy.

Awwww this was such a sweet book. I really had fun reading this to my son. It isn’t just a storybook but a great lesson to teach your kids. The illustration is also absolutely amazing. Mornin takes notice that animals and birds are going extinct and then decides to start a campaign to bring this global crisis to everyone’s attention.

I love this author and have already listen to the first two books in this series and this book does not disappoint, we meet Hannah in the second book briefly but not quite understand how she is in the jungle but this book delves into her background and gets you wanting to hate her but I ended up routing for her and Jack.
The narrator is brilliant and really draws you into the story, I loved the way that the characters react to each other and the drama builds with the twists and turns.
I can’t wait to listen to the next book in this instalment.

Mornin The Super Bird : Mornin Finds a Way to Stop Extinction by Jules Heartly is a kids story. The story is colourfully illustrated, and it will draw them in with pictures and song and give them some tools to help the planet. Mornin is a sweet hearted bird, who is on an adventure to fix and educate others about extinction and environmental issues and how to help along the way. It truly is an educational story, and the author provides links etc to further inform you. This wonderful tale will keep not only children but adults alike thinking about long after you have finished it. I read it to my two grand boys who are two and four and whilst they didn’t fully understand it’s meaning they loved the pictures and singing along. Reviewed by @jennadb

Travels Through Aqua, Green, and Blue: A Memoir by Mary E. Gregory is a memoir of the authors life and travel. It is a moving story that will touch on the ol’ heart strings and it is also interesting. The writing style takes a bit to get used to as it is written in diary form and there are a lot of details that could have been left out. As they say “less is more”. Having said that I did enjoy the story and Mary’s trials and tribulations and it takes a lot to bare your sole and put yourself out there like she has done. Give it a go. Reviewed by @jennadb

We continue with Hadley’s story, she is now living in Grand Haven. She is seeing NIck, but of course that doesn’t come without issues. His ex girlfriend is causing issues among other girls trying to cause drama. Being her first relationship she struggles with this. Nick is great with Hadley.
Overall this was a good read, we get all the high school mean girl drama. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. I struggled with the girls that Hadley called friends, since some of them seemed to have hidden agendas. But of course that’s high school drama of course. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. If you’re looking for a great YA series to read 1-click and get started today.

House in the Woods by Jessica Aiken-Hall is a book you will not be able to put down! This book is filled with so much fear, suspense, and love that you get sucked into the story. Several times I had thought I knew what the ending would be, but then had my theories thrown out the window as another clue was discovered by the main character, Molly. Molly is such a likeable character. From the moment we meet her, she is a kind-hearted woman. When she finds the flyer of a missing woman while searching for her ill mother, her curiosity to learn more of who this woman was draws the reader into the mystery. You will not be disappointed with this well written book.
