I do believe I have a new favorite series. Or at least a tie. I was hooked from the first line! I started reading this morning and did not put the book down until I finished it. I’m now going to read other books by this author because the stories she tells are so captivating and imaginative. This book has most of the things I love in it. Magic, romance, thrills, and a strong female lead. I cried at the end of the book and cannot wait for the next one. Several times my heart nearly beat out of my chest with excitement and wonder at what was going to happen. I am so happy I stumbled across this amazing book. Please do yourself a favor and read it. I promise you’ll fall in love!

What she does not expect is to get wrapped up in an investigation involving a missing woman. Rather than sit idly by Camille feels compelled to help her brother Zach, and his partner Russ. Camille aids in the investigation by keeping tabs on the missing woman’s husband, neighbors, and friends. What starts out as a way to keep track of the missing woman’s husband turns into so much more and Camille never expects to fall in love with the missing woman’s husband.

Murder Among Friends was a real page turner. It took twists and turns that I never saw coming with one big twist at the end that seemed to come out of nowhere. This book will keep you hooked as you delve in to see what will happen next.

This is a nice story. The two mc haven’t seen each other for years and he is her brother’s bestie from years ago. Those are some of my favorite tropes to read. While I enjoyed this story I didn’t love it. All the elements are there other than the narrative. There is a lot of thinking in their heads even while having conversations. So a couple pages could go by before one would answer the other. To be honest I just started skipping to the dialogue so I could stay in the moment.

I loved the idea of a small town in Australia. It’s different but yet the same and we meet some wonderful characters. Her brothers are great and I could see stories being built here.

Overall its nice, lighthearted and fun. I will check out others in this series.

Code Name: Vulture: Dark Vampire Romance (The Order of the Condor Series Book 1) was absolutely phenomenal. I’ve read my share of books with dominant males. Most of them crack so early in the book makes you question their dominance. Not in this book that’s for sure. Vulture let’s you know who’s boss.
I really liked that there were several supernatural creatures in the story. There was tons of action.
Overall I really enjoyed reading Code Name: Vulture and getting to know the characters. I can’t wait to “sink my teeth” in book 2

Wow, where to start… I suppose with two of my favorite things in one place, mafia romance, and Amy McKinley. Boom, pretty sure you have the makings right there for a fab read, so it was a no-brainer for me to just one-click this read the moment I saw it. I am so glad that I did and cleared my evening because this book consumed me. Max and Lilianna quickly became one of my absolute favorite book couples that I have read of 2021 and I was hooked on the chemistry that they slowly and painfully built up on my kindle. I love how McKinley does that and she really did a wonderful job of it in No Way Out. I am so excited to see that this is the first of a series and that we will be getting more of this deliciousness on our kindles hopefully in the near future. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of Max and Lilianna either even though I loved how Ms. McKinley tied this book up.

I just love love love Karina Cardinal mystery books from the ever talented Ellen Butler!! With every book in this series I find myself saying over and over these get better and better and I once again find myself saying that with Swindler’s Revenge. I was up way past my bedtime to read how Karina would get herself out of the mess she found herself in once again in this one. I just had to know. This one was so good I couldn’t read it in pieces so I dove in and found out and with every page I was more and more hooked into her story laughing and yelling at my kindle as the hubby stirred next to me and rolled his eyes at my excited reading. People these books are not ones that you want to miss if you love mystery, crime, drama, romance, suspense, laughter, travel, and so much more. Every time Butler takes you to a new place and on a new adventure that will make you feel as if you have slipped on your private investigator shoes and jumped right into the action yourself. I love it and I only cry when I read the very last page because it is over. This one brought us so many changes but I can’t bear to divulge them. While I may have not read the first book in the DAG series, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I became invested in the characters of UNSETTLED SCORES, and the DAG Team. This story is very fast paced and full of action as much as it is full of romance and intrigue and suspense that kept me on my toes and reading well into the night. I just had to know how things were going to work out for Amy surrounding the death of her sister. I won’t’ give away much more on the story line because that would be a huge spoil but this is one you don’t want to miss if you love drama and crime mixed with a small bit of romance. I enjoyed this one enough that I will be going back to read the first in the series and look forward to seeing what may come next from Kel O’Connor in the near future.

An enjoyable and engaging read which had me hooked from page one and kept me happily turning the pages. Set in a small town in Australia, the authors descriptive narrative really brings Bunya Junction to life and I could picture the setting which made me feel fully immersed in the story. Nurse Sindy Carruthers returned to her home town following the break down of her relationship and was welcomed back and supported by both her family and the community. Sindy runs the local medical practice and is enjoying having her confidence back and not thinking about romance until her brothers old friend returns.
Dr. Ryan Flanagan is an renowned plastic surgeon to the stars and has only returned to Bunya Junction to pay his last respects to his friend and mentor, but then learns that he has been bequeathed half of the towns general medical practice. As he’s not a fan of Bunya Junction and the judgements of the townsfolk he’s unlikely to stay until he learns that the other half belongs to his closest friend’s twin sister, Sindy. The couple cannot deny their mutual attraction and instant chemistry, which came across in the narrative, but will a romance complicate them being business partners. This is a heartwarming romance between two likeable and relatable characters and I was cheering them on hoping they would get their happy ever after. I look forward to returning to Bunya Junction in the rest of this series.

This book took me a little under 2 weeks to read leisurely, but I could have devoured it in a day had I the time to do so. I’d give it 5 out of 5 stars. The characters are extremely well written, and all the interactions were believable and above all, relatable. The story follows a young woman who blows into town to close- up her grandmother’s estate after being gone since childhood after her passing. She soon realizes there’s more than meets the eye in this quaint little witchy town. As she finds her way through her own issues as well as some odd town dynamics that she comes across, she also meets some great people along the way. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series and seeing how the relationships flourish in the coming books. The storyline was believable and doesn’t end exactly the way you’d think it would- which I love. I wasn’t completely oblivious as to how the story would end but the ending was a good one and set future stories up very well. I think this is a series that will continue to get better and better. I’m really looking forward to reading where this storyline goes and what other interesting characters will be brought into the spotlight. Great, easy read that will have you hooked and keep you coming back to see what happens next. I look forward to reading more of your books Shawn McGuire, blessed be!

Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle & Elle Madison is book one of The Lochlann Feuds series. I had not read the previous series when starting this book so didn’t know what to expect from these authors. I really didn’t expect to find such fun and relatable characters. The whole book is absolutely fantastic. It is adventurous, exciting, entertaining. I read the book in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down.
I don’t think you need to have read the previous series in order to enjoy this one although I can say for certain I will be going back to add them on! This was a great introduction to this world as a whole and to two new authors that I can’t wait to discover.

Home to the Outback by Nicole Flockton is the first book in the Welcome to Bunya Junction series. This is a really enjoyable story that I found myself easily swept up in. I really loved the characters in this book. They felt so real right from the word go, probably because you could see that they each had flaws.
This author really does know how to create easy reading, romance stories that are worth every minute of your time. I always love to sit down with one of her books, this one being no exception. A great story yet again and one I would definitely recommend.

Emme is a high school freshman that finds herself in a relationship with Brendon, the senator’s son. Throughout the book it’s a evident that Emme struggles with self-esteem and Brendon struggles with the pressure of who he’s supposed to be versus who he actually is. Although it’s been 10 years since I was a high school freshman one thing for sure is that I communicated with my friends mainly via text versus email like in the movie. I did talk a lot on the phone with crushes so that portion was relatable, but I have never used email communication outside of business. Emme also changed her emotions very rapidly frequently which threw me off a bit. The storyline is solid, but I couldn’t get into the way it came about throughout the book.

Scarlet Princess is the first book in the Lochlann Feuds series by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison.

I loved this book. It was an unexpected breath of fresh air. It is action-packed right from the start, there’s no easing into the story, it really kicks off with a bang.
I really enjoyed the characters, particularly Rowan. She is really relatable which I loved, fiery, full of personality, and always finding herself unintentionally in trouble. When she finds herself at the mercy of her enemy the last thing she expects is to fall for him.
This love story had me hooked from the get-go. The pages turned so fast, I was frustrated at myself for finishing so quickly, but once you get stuck in there’s no stopping. I can’t wait to read book two.

Gardening, death, mystery, murder, suspense and cast of great characters created a great reading experience for me! I loved the plot and quirky characters that made this book such a pleasure to read. My favorite character was Anne who was the Nancy Drew of the book and so labeled by her boyfriend who called her ND. I fell in love with the tiny details and relationships that were portrayed in Potager Plot. Watson described the characters so completely and gave each one their own persona it was as if I have known them all my life. Such a great read that was too good to put down and I am now needing to read the rest of the books in the series. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to feel like I was a part of the community and had a vested interest in solving the mystery. Definitely a must read from page one to the very end So yourself a favor and pick p the book, get absorbed into the community and see why this is such a wonderful book!

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. Her books are well written and her use of details give her stories a realistic feel. This book is no different. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning. This is the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading the first book as well to help your enjoyment of this series. The characters are connectable and make the story engaging. They are creative and unique. They bring the story to life on each page as well as keep me turning pages to the end. I read this book in one sitting as it is that great. The growth and chemistry of the characters made the story pop. This is a shorter story about vampires and finding the truth. This is a really great story that I loved the characters and the plot. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is a short story that is a gothic fairytale. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her. The one thing I enjoy most about her books is how well written they are and how her use of details keeps the story engaging. This book is no different. I was pulled into the story from the first word. This is a fast paced story that even though it is shorter, it packs a punch. I enjoyed how the characters brought the story to life as well as being relatable. They made great characters that truly made the story for me. There could be some triggers in here for some but if you get passed that, you will find a great story by a great author. This is a story about breaking free from the past and finding yourself in the process. This is really a great story that brings hope and healing. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her. This is a second chance romance story that is written with a lot of heart and soul. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the characters and the emotional roller coaster they took me on. I also enjoyed how connectable they are and how they kept the story engaging. This is a fast paced story that kept me turning pages to the end. Cassandra falls off her horse, knocking her head. The site that flashes before her is her first love Rhett. She realizes it’s time to go back to see if there is any chance for them left. When he sees her, he is surprised. Will the same things that kept them apart, keep them apart still? Will they get a second chance or will pride step in and take over? I enjoyed their chemistry together as well as their growth throughout the story. I found myself hoping they would get back together. You will have to read this book to find out which I highly recommend. This is worth the pick up for sure!

I thoroughly enjoyed this romantic suspense novel which follows the story of CC Chapman, a pilot for Trident Security. Conrad works for a team who intervene in life or death situations and it’s his job to fly them in and out of danger. However when Jane, his sister in law asks him to help an abused women he feels more of a responsibility towards her than just flying her away from her husband who is likely to kill her. Callie is sure that her husband is going to kill her and her only chance to escape is with the help of her neighbours brother in law, Conrad. Conrad makes her feel like she can actually learn to live again and take a chance on living a real life, but can she also take a chance on Conrad. This is an enjoyable and engaging read where the main characters are both taking a second chance at love despite many obstacles. The storyline is full of suspense, action and plenty of romance. Conrad and Callie are both likeable and relatable characters and the chemistry between the couple does come across in the narrative. I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story, and it’s nice to have slightly more mature main characters falling in love in a novel.

I truly loved this story. I had a hard time in the beginning to connect with Jayne. Though, as the story moved I really started liking her. She came to close on her grandma’s home after a rough couple of months she was ready for a much needed break. Though, she was met with chaos and a dead body. I adored the mystery with sprinkles of paranormal. The little town full of big secrets just sucks you in and doesn’t let go. Be prepared to be in it for the long haul. I know I am!!

This book had me hooked from the start! In the beginning I was thinking oh this will be a nice family story and I could see the neighborhood in my imagination. Linda Burson is an excellent writer, painting a full picture of this murder mystery! I was on the edge of my seat, and almost couldn’t put it down! I was intrigued by the story of the mystery woman and all of her friends. I won’t give the story away but you must read it! Camille wanted to relax for a summer but her plans for R&R were halted by the events occuring at her brother and their family’s home. I highly recommend this read, and will be reading more from Linda!

You will fall in love with love during this book. It has everything that any romance reader could ever dream of. It contains suspense, character development, tragic life struggles, loves being brought back together due to unforeseen circumstances, and an amazing group of friends. The author keeps you on the edge of your seat by building the suspense about what happened and where things are going to go. The character development seems genuine and is completely relatable. You can feel the burn that the main characters have for each other, their love makes even the most skeptic people believe in love.

Swindler’s Revenge is book 5 in the Karina Cardinal Mysteries series by Ellen Butler but for me it was the first book I have read not only in this series but by this wonderful author. I will definitely be finding more books by Ms Butler to read and back tracking to read the rest of this fun series. Even though I did started with the 5th book in this series and there was small references to other the books, my enjoyment of this book was in no way diminished by not having read the first 4 books. Would I recommend you read them first? Well yes I would but purely because if they are anything like this book you will absolutely love them and not because it is needed to enjoy this book.

Karina Cardinal is a vivacious, fun and spirited character whose talented for unintentionally finding trouble has once again found her in the middle of a mystery she just can’t leave alone. When her Ex Boyfriend, FBI agent Mike Finnegan, is accused of a serious crime, she just knows right from the start that he is innocent. With help from the gorgeous and very serious Rick Donovan and his team at Silverthorne she will do all she can to prove just that.

Quite the cast of characters join our heroine Anne, as she uncovers yet another mystery in the not so sleepy town of Carolan Springs..

We are given a bird’s eye view as Anne winds her way through the suspects and clues in Book 5 of Vikki Walton’s, A Backyard Farming Mystery Series. This small town murder mystery is simmering with intrigue, a little romance, small town secrets (you know the kind!) When the President of the local Gardening club is found dead.. there are a lot of unanswered questions and Anne can’t help herself but get to the truth of the matter!

My first book by this author, but I was impressed with the way she pulls all the tiny details together to build a great easy to read mystery! It worked well as a stand alone, but I will definitely be looking for the other books in this series.

Dating the It Guy by Krysten Lindsay Hager is a sweet, cute, YA story- about first love, teenage drama + angst, friendship, dating the ‘popular’ guy, miscommunications, family drama, emotion, romance, self-doubt, grief, and heartache.
It is definitely a YA story- although it isn’t quite so light and ‘fluffy’ as others. This does have an emotional component with the family complexities faced by Emme. The miscommunication and teen drama were a little frustrating for me, but still a nice story overall, with just enough added complexity, angst, and drama to keep things interesting- while still keeping things suitable for the younger (YA) reader.

Weep, Woman, Weep is a Gothic Fairy tale about Ancestral Hauntings by Maria DeBlassie. This novella is a short read but filled with plenty and what a quagmire. It is set in New Mexico and details the lives and curse of generations of women who have lived with pain and sorrow, fear and hatred, racism, and misogyny, ghosts, and magic. This haunting tale shows so much suffering that is so heavy it almost becomes palpable. Generations of Mexican children have grown up afraid of La Llorona and this story is no different. I am so grateful I don’t live with that.

The myth of La Llorona in Latin American folklore is that she is a ghost who roams waterfront areas mourning her children whom she drowned.

Dating the It Guy by Krysten Lindsay Hager YA contemporary romance where insecurities rein. The usual emotions, drama, angst, and jealousy. But let’s not forget the mind games others play when they don’t get what they want but there is also some deep feeling due to family issues. I would not like to go back and relive that time in my life. There are characters that you can’t help but like and then there are those who you just want to rip into and give a piece of your mind with a healthy dose of a slap.

Dating the “IT guy” should be a wonderful thing, but with it comes self-doubt and feelings of never being enough when compared to others and deep-seated insecurities.

Ye Gods! The Law is an Ass! (Donovan Trait Book 2) by Seelie Kay is an original is a paranormal suspense story that is different than the norm and that is what makes it fun. A Lawyer who is a vampire, but the ancient Vampire law has let him down. There is suspense and fear, vampires, and sexy charm. Seelie has given us complex and beautifully written characters with words that brings them to life.

Facing outdated and antiquated laws and beliefs of others Donovan is persecuted and on the run. With the Vampire Coalition on his back Donovan is being hunted and he will do nothing to protect his family even if it means going up against those that want to see heads roll.
