The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria Book #1) contains the first four parts of The Elements of Kamdaria by Kay L Moody; Ice Crown, Wind Crown, Dust Crown, and Flame Crown. It is a wonderful YA Fantasy- with magic, mystery, action, and adventure. I think it has a bit of an Avatar The Last Airbender feel to the story- but definitely has its own unique identity and originality too. I found the story to be well written and very interesting. I think this series holds great promise, and if this is anything to go by the rest of the series looks set to be fabulous. I am looking forward to exploring the coming instalments and am intrigued to see where the series goes from here!

The Groomsman is the second book in the Unexpected series by Marina Hanna. It’s a wonderful contemporary romance that completely captivated me with a wonderfully sexy story. The chemistry between the characters nearly set my Kindle on fire. In this story we follow Lauren Roberts and Mark Taylor. We met Mark and Lauren in the first book, Love Unexpected- Jules and Adam’s story, as Lauren is Jules best friend and Mark is Adam’s lawyer and best friend. I really loved the first book, so it was a given that I would snap up a copy of this to find out more about Lauren and Mark. With Adam being a groomsman and Lauren a bridesmaid at their friend’s wedding, chemistry begins to combust- then sparks fly and things get very steamy. What was supposed to be a one-night-stand to release their sexual tension gets a little more complicated and angsty than they expected. Will love win out in the end? This is definitely worth the read to find out. The story was everything I could have hoped for and more. A fun story- but with enough drama, angst, and emotion to keep the momentum going the whole way through to the end. I loved catching up with what was happening with Jules and Adam too. Bring on Marina Hanna’s next book!

Dare I say I loved this book as much as, if not a smidge more, than the first. If you dont read book 1 and immediately dice into book 2, the author has kindly put a character list in here (which I needed for a refresher) I really loved these characters and their story. I felt all of it, the love, danger, suspense, you name it it was in here. Great new series and Cant wait for more!
First off, I’ll start by saying that this was the first book I’ve read by this author but it most certainly won’t be my last! This was a thoroughly enjoyable read, one that I was able to read in one sitting as I was so captivated by the characters and their dynamic that I couldn’t seem to put it down.
This author wrote with such great detail that I was able to picture everything playing out in my mind, which was a real treat as this couple had insane chemistry! Though this was a quicker read I felt like the author did a great job in making it a well-rounded story with the perfect amount of drama.
If you are looking for an intense romance read look no further this is the book for you!

This book and series are must reads!!! Seriously so amazing!! Blood Oath is the second book in the Mafia Elite series, a series that I would recommend reading in order for full reading enjoyment.
This storyline is action-packed, intense, twisted, unexpected and truly entertaining. The characters always have me feeling so intrigued and captivated, just like with the first book I ended up reading this book in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading. This author writes with so much detail that I found myself fully immersed in the story and unable to put it down.
Even though I just finished book 2 I am already looking forward to reading the next book of the series asap!

This is the 4th book in the Default Distraction series. As with the books before I have really enjoyed this story. The author does an amazing job with her characters. The characters are all relatable and their stories are moving and heartbreaking as well as heartwarming.
Luke is a member of Default Distraction. He has a hard start in life after his mother left him on the church steps when he was born. He grew up in the church orphanage and his determination brought him to where he is today as part of a successful band. However things haven’t always been good for him. After losing his wife to a drug overdose he now finds himself alone with his young daughter. As the guys in Default Distraction start making plans for their future Luke needs some to care for his daughter. And that’s where Nikki comes in.
Nikki also hasn’t had a great upbringing. With her dad leaving her family she has taken on the role of supporting her family. Now she finds herself out of a job and no idea what to do.
When she gets the job as Nanny to Lukes little girl she feels like all her dreams have come true. She has always been attracted to Luke but does her picture in her head match what Luke is really like? Meanwhile Luke is struggling with his feelings towards Nikki. Since he has sworn off love he struggles to accept what he is feeling now.
Can they both work through their bad pasts and upbringing to realise that love can exist for them both? Or will the secrets and deceptions from their pasts come back to haunt them and destroy them?

My heart needed this beautiful story! CC is on a journey of self healing when she crashes her car into a cattle fence in a remote town. Reese owns the fence and rescues CC, offering her shelter in his home. While awaiting the repair of her car, CC and Reese find themselves each facing a difficult past, thus putting distance between them.
I loved CC’s playful, Christmas loving character. The way that she tried to lighten the environment and make it magical is so relatable. I am a lover of Christmas Spirit and would want to create Christmas joy just like she did. Reese seemed to be the strong and silent type, but his story is so complex, it was wonderful to see his layers revealed. I love that Laurie Lewis was able to sprinkle a little faith in there, and bring the love of God to her characters! This story made me feel like I was watching a movie, like I was actually there with Reese and CC. I would love to see their story continue, I NEED to know what happens next!

KG Fletcher brings her musical time-travel romance series back with, “Love’s Reverie”, the conclusion to the “Stardust Duet” saga.
Finally, pianist Philip and singer Kat have been reunited, after literally decades apart. Desperate to keep Kat in his life, Philip proposes, and Kat eagerly accepts. The two plan on touring together after they wed, but their plan quickly falls apart when Philip realizes he cannot leave their small town without literally disappearing. Kat does not want to lose Philip, but certainly can’t let him give up his dreams of being a famous pianist- and Philip knows that Kat has a wanderlust to travel and perform, and he, too, cannot be the reason she gives it up. Now, both are torn with the decision- do they give up their dreams in order to stay together?
Fletcher’s novel is every bit a cute, easy-to-read romance story, with time travel components that fans of “Outlander” will instantly connect with. With an old mirror being the only way to travel through the ages, “Reverie” brings together two people from two different generations, and connects them through their mutual love of music.
I struggled with the relationship between Philip and Kat in the first novel, “Love’s Refrain”, due to the large age difference between the two main characters. In “Reverie”, this was not an issue and I found the romance portion easier to accept, and easier to enjoy. There was also less misogynistic language in this one (being mostly set in present day, there was fewer “doll face” comments), which also made “Reverie” a more enjoyable read.
A delightfully sweet read, full of passion and a love of music, Fletcher’s writing flows well and her characters are adorable and extremely likable. I cheered for both of them from the first page. It is not often that a series of novels ends at only two entries, but I think it is appropriate for this one. Fletcher is able to end the series well, without overdoing it. The “Stardust Duet” duo of books will be enjoyed by “Outlander” fans, and fans of light-hearted romance.

Fate, Frankincense & Funerals by Naomi Valkyrie is an amazing short story that kept me through it all. Acheron has lived in Kharon his whole life. He finds that something is pulling him to a city he’s not allowed to go to as a vulture shifter. When given his assignment to go, he takes the chance and finds Errapel, a hare shifter, the nurse to his assignment as well as his mate. During his whole stay, he learns about the life of his assignment, and how he will choose his future. You will have to read how it all plays out. With only 57 pages, this is a masterpiece! Thank you, Naomi! 🙂
This was a very interesting story. The characters were fascinating. Two different species brought together to bring change. A mother always watching her son from the outside. I found a them of “being on the outside” throughout the book. This made it very intriguing to read. I think the author could make a series from this short story. The characters were fascinating. It left me wanting to know more about their society and the people in it. Unanswered questions make even a short story soo very good because you are left wanting more; you try to figure out what happens next. It is a very good story that keeps your interest and is thought-provoking, two key features I love. It is worth the read. Take a chance. You’ll want to read to more by this author.
This is an author I never hesitate to pick up. I have loved her books from the first one I picked up. They are well written and her attention to details make her stories realistic. This book is no different. The characters pulled me into the story with ease and kept me engaged to the end. This is a paranormal romance story that is one of my favorites. Kharon feels this strong pull to the city, imagining his surprise when he discovers that it is Errapal. He is not allowed to take a mate but the attraction is hard to resist. On top of it he is there to help him. What will happen with these two? Can two opposites find happiness together and beat the odds? I loved their chemistry and growth throughout the story. The plot also had great growth and kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. This is a must read book that I highly recommend.
Fate, Frankincense & Funerals is an M/M paranormal romance by Naomi Valkyrie. Having not read this author’s work, I was a little excited to see what I would discover. It was a really good read. Although very short and a little rushed, I got the plot and readied myself for an entertaining story. As the M/M trope is my second favourite, this story was a delight in its uniqueness, creativity and originality. A lot of thought went into this short story and it was well set out. I liked the characters and found it was a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Short, to the point and thought provoking. 4 stars.
Amazing addition to the series This series keeps on surprising me. In this instalment we are back with Zelda and Scott as they navigate their life together. Scott is still struggling with his gift and Zelda with her mental illness. So mummy emotions bounce throughout the pages. Angel, Logan and Russ are all there too to offer support. Loved the writing and how the author presents everything so raw and real. Highly recommend.
I absolutely loved this book! The way Kay L Moody has split it into like a 4 part series was super enjoyable, gave me a little bit of everything and made me feel like i got more then just one book. Romance, Action, Plot Twists- it kept me turning those pages. All the Characters were likable, and I felt like I was there with them throughout the different parts. Definitely a must read for any YA Fantasy fans.

Quick Steamy read! Everything you want in a romance book, the chemistry sizzled off the page as you are reading. My first Marina Hanna book, and I will certainly be checking out her other books after how well written the Groomsman is! I have read a few books by this author now and they are never disappointing. They always pull me in and the writing is great. Enzo and Sofia were fantastic characters and they really brought this story to life. I didn’t want it to end and those types of stories are always the best. This book is like reading from my day-to-day job. It hit hard for me. Now I am not a clinical medical worker I work in medical records. At my job, I read through patients’ hospital history and when I see that they don’t have any family I tend to leave the office twice a day to talk. This book is very special to me. I will buy the hardcover. It’s emotional which towards the end of anyone’s life is. LOVE it when the hardcover comes in I will read it again.

I love this book so much! Victoria Zak’s book Rock Me to the Top had me so invested in the main two characters I never wanted it to end. Joe, the drummer of Gracefall, has just learned with the rest of his bandmates and his manager that they will be headlining their first ever summer tour. Amongst all the shock, aww, and excitement there’s only one person he really wants to share the news with. He makes that call to his best friend Melody, to not get her on the phone but Dani instead informing him that Melody is drunker than she’s ever been. Joe has loved Melody since he met her but they promised one another that their friendship was the most important thing in their lives, so he’s kept that info to himself. Sad but I get it, I’ve been in a situation myself while you sit by and watch as the one you love you can’t have, it’s not easy. So that hits close to home. Melody just found out she lost a shot at getting a chair as a cellist in the LA Orchestra, her dream. Feeling like a failure she turns to “Mind Erasers” to forget the pain. I’ve been that person too and I didn’t hit my rock bottom when I did, I probably wouldn’t be writing this review today. This book hits very close to home, but I love these characters! The way Victoria Zak wrote them independently and together is what made this story. Joe and Melody face the obstacles of their past as well as fears of what’s to come,on their path to each other. This is such a sweet holiday story. Liberty is a reporter who loves being the one chasing the story and getting the scoop on something rather than being in front of the camera. Sawyer is a workaholic who has helped his father make their business a Fortune 500 company. Liberty is nosing around to find out who is donating so much money as a secret Santa. She has three suspects. The first two don’t pan out to her thinking, could it be the third? Her interviews with Sawyer are squeezed in and look and feel more like dates. Her boss is expecting the story by the end of the week. Will she keep pushing through for her job? Or is her heart going to rule? I really enjoyed the flow of Marianne Rice’s writing. I am going to have to put the first three books on my TBR list.
Mark and Lauren were supposed to be a one night stand after their best friend’s wedding. In fact, they didn’t exchange numbers and Lauren made the walk of shame to her room the next morning. But…they are both feeling a connection that they swore they would. Lauren has been burned by men in the last and does not trust her own gut feelings when it comes to trust. Mark has resigned himself to a no-strings lifestyle because he has a lot going on in his life that leaves no room for more. But, when these two find themselves going back for seconds (and thirds and fourths…) they are not sure how to make it work. And, when secrets come to light, there might not be a relationship to worry about. This is a story about finding the person that makes you change your tune when it comes to dating. The person who makes you think that you could be in it for the long haul. But both characters have some growing to do before they are ready for something serious. Are they willing to make that change or are they too set in their ways? This was a good book that pulled me in with the chemistry between the two main characters and kept my attention to see what would happen. I enjoyed the story and definitely want to know the story behind some of the other characters.

The Mating Call by Brooke May is the first book in the Long Claw Pride series and a paranormal romance. Who doesn’t love a paranormal story set in a small town with mountain lion shifters and soul mates. Throw in some action and drama, hopes and needs, wants and love and mix it up with fate and you have yourself a great read. I enjoyed the characters and the world that Brooke’s narrative has given us which is so easy to imagine and get lost in. They are positively crazy, most definitely fun and a lot wild this pride but you can’t help but fall in love with them good or bad. Cheyenne had hoped for more but she can’t stop what fate has in store for her and when the Call comes she can’t ignore it. But letting go of her past is not going to be easy. Lane just wants to finally belong and have something for himself but the road has been long and he isn’t sure he will get what he is seeking. Reviewed by @jennadb

A Spell of Rowans by Byrd Nash is definitely a hard and highly emotional book to get through. The rage and sorrow I felt was palpable. It had my heart breaking and I really wanted to hurt someone, badly. It’s a little bit of everything from drama, mystery to child abuse, murder, suicide and a lot more. There is some paranormal aspects to the story but not what I would call fantasy. I found it is strangely fascinating and engrossing and as much as I didn’t want to like it because of the suffering, I did. Rachel Rowan is a nasty, nasty, vicious woman and now she is dead (If only it happened earlier). Not only do the scars they thought once healed, or as healed as they were going to get, have now reopened having to deal with her death but her children are now caught up in the mess she created and her many enemies. Cross-Country Christmas by Laurie Lewis is a sweet and heart-warming romance that was fun to read. What a better time and place to set a Christmas story with cowboys and a ranch. I enjoyed the teasing banter and witty humour between our characters which was fun to read. This story has a little bit of everything with hope and forgiveness, tragedy and pain, family and friendship, hurt and love. The story is about two souls healing and second changes but to get there there needs to be forgiveness. As much as I liked this story there are a few unanswered questions. CC is trying hard to leave her past behind her and make a new start for herself. Reese has been burnt and has trust issues. So when they literally crash into each other’s lives they need to heal and maybe, just maybe than can do it together. Reviewed by @jennadb

Wow, my emotions after this book….really at me. I just love this series and this continuation of Scott and Zelda had so many heartbreaking moments. My heart truly felt for Zelda as there was a car accident while she was pregnant and ended up losing her and Scott’s baby. Not only that, it was an unfortunate event that Scott had to make a decision to save Zelda’s life. After this, Scott and Zelda are distant but yet need healing. Ghosts keep reappearing and Scott has the ability to see them, but one from the past comes with a secret. Will Scott and Zelda come back to each other and heal together or will they fall apart? This story is full of moments of heartbreak and secrets but it was truly a wonderful book.

I must admit this was my first book that I read in the series but I was so hooked that I downloaded the first five books as soon as I finished reading Tenacious. Which was in one day! Now I can’t wait to see what led up to this story. This book has it all! Romance, suspense with action, danger, sex traffickers, sizzle, and sexy bodyguards. Allie O’Conner is a feisty, independent head charge nurse in the ER of a NYC hospital. At first she is against having bodyguards, let alone the God of sexy Nick Montgomery. His sexiness, alpha protector kicks into overdrive when Allie and Lexi are threatened by a sex trafficking ring. This book will not disappoint! Via Mari’s way with words and eyes for detail in all aspects of the story is truly amazing. If you close your eyes you can see yourself right in the mix of the story.

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection #3) by Nikki Lynn Barrett
This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Barrett. Snowfall Serenade was an amazing read and I know others will enjoy it. Barrett has outdone herself with this series.
Scott can see ghosts and it’s taking its toll on him. He has these life-like dreams and wakes feeling guilty. His wife is someone he can turn to, but he feels like she may leave him because of his obsession. The quote I chose for Scott is: “Still doesn’t solve the guilt thing, though. That’s the biggest. This anniversary will pass, but ghosts needing me won’t.”
Zelda is used to her husband seeing ghosts. Now it’s not only her husband, but her daughter as well. She can’t carry Scott’s child and any time she sees a kid she pictures Scott. The quote I chose for Zelda is: “Go. Get the hell out of here. You can’t be seeing Scott in random kids.”
