Wild Desire (The Protectors Series Book 1) by Toya Richardson – Review by Amelia Stansell

Wild Desire (The Protectors, #1)Wild Desire by Toya Richardson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book one of the series. It was a really good read. You can predict a bit what will happen but it will not stop you from turning each page to find out what happens. This book is different from other shifter books. Elias is a deer shifter. Mila moves away and after a few years she feels a tug calling her home. She has a connection to the animals and a bit more. Ready to read book two.

Engaño (The DeWitt Agency Adventures Book 2) by Lance Charnes – Review by Kerry Carr

Engaño (DeWitt Agency Adventures, #2)Engaño by Lance Charnes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great read. It is the second book in the DeWitt Agency Adventures. The story is fast paced and will of action, danger and intrigue. You get completely drawn into the story and following the twists and turns that you get taken through.

It is a story about Mafia, drugs and when Carson goes on the case to return a daughter to her father she gets dragged further into the rabbit hole of this world than she ever dreamed possible.

There are a lot of characters to this story and the connection between them can get confusing at first, however I recommend sticking with the book because once you get a grip on the connections and who’s who the story then becomes an amazing read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Don is the first book in the Her Three Immortals Series and it is a Why Choose/Reverse Harem series. Just with that fact alone i knew i had to pick it up. I am a sucker for why choose books. This is my first book by this author and this book was a great intro to this authors work and i really liked it! The plot was intriguing and the main characters were awesome. I am excited to see what this author comes out with next and will for sure be continuing this series asap! I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a good why choose book.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Bow is the 3rd book in the Her Three Immortal series and picks up where book 2 left off, so i would highly recommend reading this series in order to get all of those juicy important details we saw in the previous books. This book is by far my favorite in the series. With every book the authors writing gets better and i was pulled into this world because of the attention to details and world building this author put into their books. The main characters are likeable and i like seeing them overcome so much in the last 3 stories. I cannot wait until the next book comes out and i would for sure read more books by this author in the future!

The God (Her Three Immortals, #2)The God by Hazel Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The God is the 2nd book in the Her Three Immortals series and this book picks up exactly where book number 1 left off so i highly recommend reading these books in order! This book was my favorite in the series so far because it had a little more spice than book number 1. The story grabbed my attention and i didn’t want to leave this world. Its adds more details to the story we started building in book 1, and we are starting to see the bigger picture. There was some romance, mystery and suspense. Good book overall and i would recommend to anyone that liked RH! I am looking forward to reading book number 3 and i know it will be just as good as this one!
Happy Reading!

Kingdom of Embers (Kingdom Journals Book 1) by Tricia Copeland – Review by Jessica Phillips

Kingdom of Embers (Kingdom Journals #1)Kingdom of Embers by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kingdom of Embers is book one in the Kingdom Journals series by Tricia Copeland. I couldn’t put this one down. This is my first read by this author and I was impressed!
I think for me, it was the combination of fantasy, reality and suspense that kept me turning the pages. I was being drawn into this world that had me thinking/feeling it was real.

Alena is half witch – half vampire, and that is a no go. So of course she has to pretend to be something that she’s not, human. I really enjoyed her character. She’s a good kid but she’s got a lot of questions that are going unanswered, like who’s her dad and where is he? And she wants to get to the bottom of it regardless of what her mom says and the danger it could cause.
When she runs into her childhood imaginary friend, she realizes he wasn’t imaginary after all.
They get together to see if they can solve the mystery of how something like this could be possible.
The book does end in a cliffhanger, so now I have to get the rest of the books in this series.

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards # 6)Tenacious by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 6) by Via Mari

4 out of 5 Stars

Via Mari creates a vivid world in which bad guys are brought to justice because the good guys want to help the innocent. It is a beautiful world. I also enjoy that the good guys work alongside the shady guys because it works for both of them.

Allie O’Conner has seen some rough stuff as an emergency room RN in NYC. Allie has learned to numb herself to the emotions the patients show in the ER. She learned from years of numbing herself from the traumas of her childhood. Until she met him, Allie knew how to balance her emotions, desires, and life.

Nick Montgomery is a bodyguard. That is not only what he is but who he is. Nick is a protector. He always has been. His protective instincts have been kicked into overdrive since meeting Allie. Nick has to find a way to protect her and crash through her walls at the same time.

While Nick is hunting the human traffickers threatening her, Allie comes face to face with the devastation caused by these folks.

Via Mari mixes romance in with her suspense. It is a delicious blend!! This is my first jump into the series. I have to know more. Books 1-5, here I come.

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven Book 4) by AJ Renee – Review by Tamisha Janay

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven, #4)Cursed Touch by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh, Carter. This book went by a little too quickly for me. I love the characters and the development of the relationship, but I didn’t feel like I had enough from either side this time. We start with Vanessa who is suspicious of everyone and everything because she can sense that there is more out there than what meets the eye. She is seeing eyes change color, amongst other things, and is mentioning it out loud – likely in the company of someone she shouldn’t be. She brings her neighbor into the ER because he’s been injured and luckily for her (and the neighbor) Carter happens to be there to lend a healing hand. There is the ever-present undeniable connection between the two of them that can only mean one thing. But how can Carter’s mate be mortal? There is a target on her back and so many secrets are left to be uncovered. That mate connection is something that is inevitable and always in control over rational thought, but I felt like their story moved a bit quicker than the others. Prepare for some revelations, brand new characters, and both happy and eye-rolling moments. Add in some meddling from the constantly growing Broderick clan and this story can only have one type of ending: a happy one. Although I wish this story had been more fulfilling like the others, I will not be stopping my read-through of this entire series. AJ has captured my full attention with this world and I’m excited for what is yet to come!

The Boss Prince (It's Raining Royals, #1)The Boss Prince by Alix Nichols
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first book by Alix Nichol’s and I absolutely adored it. This book has such a delightful array of characters, and the story itself is original and well developed.
Max and Lucie make quite the pair!! They start off the Royal series with a bang.
Lucie gets a job in Paris working for Max and it all starts off from there. Max is an undercover Prince and a man on a mission, and that is where Lucie comes in because he hires her to assist with his project. Lucie finds Max downright sexy and is happy for the job, but still curious as to why her. Lucie is smart and independent and is very much a match to Max. As these 2 embark on their mission you cant help but get sucked in. The story unfolds with plenty of mystery, steamy chemistry, flirtation, and banter that will keep you smiling until the end.

Another page turner in the Broderick Coven series! This book follows Carter, the brother who is a doctor and can heal people. There were sometimes I was a little lost with all that was happening, but the story pulled me in and I finished it in a few days. Vanessa is tough and just what Carter needs in his life. This book was full of even more magic, new characters to learn about, and the big family dinners that pull the characters together. This story turned the steamy romance up a notch too.

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by AJ Renee – Review by Tamisha Janay

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven, #5)Cursed Luck by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

EDWARD! Yet another of the Broderick clan with an amazing ability. He has an intuition that allows him to know just the right things to say or do to help his clients become more successful. Unfortunately, he also tends to insert his foot directly in his mouth when he comes face to face with his chosen mate. We meet Mia in book 4 of the Broderick Coven series. She has such a free-loving personality and is enamored by him at first glance at the beginning of this story. Once again, mates don’t necessarily have to be of the same ‘species.’ Edward has spent much of his life feeling like the outcast of the family and thinking that he would never find his true place or the love of his life like the rest of his siblings have. Mia is the daughter of nature-loving parents who – unfortunately – care to spend more time communing with nature than taking care of or being with their daughter. The fact that fate decided to bring them together made me happier than I imagined I would be going into this story. There are normal couple squabbles and a few misunderstandings, but the fact that this book brings out the sweet and caring side of Edward made it all worth it. I love this couple and I have loved every single one of these books. I am now on the edge of my seat awaiting the next installment and cannot wait to see what is in store for the rest of the characters! AJ – seriously, great job! If you haven’t picked this series up, please do! Start with the beginning book and immerse yourself in a wonderful world with amazing characters.

A new story focusing on another brother from the Broderick family of witches! In each book the author changes point of view to a different brother and the magic that they are learning to use. Max can speak to animals which is a fun way to see into the minds of the animals he treats and the werewolf he finds in the woods. This one was interesting with the werewolves so involved in the story and learning more about the pack life. I like the large family dinners and how they are so protective of each other. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Cursed Luck was a really good read! This was a quick and easy read. I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, romantic, steamy edition to the Broderick Coven Series. Each book gets better and better I think but I still can’t figure out which installment was my favorite. I was easily lost in this book. When I picked it up I hardly wanted to put it down, the pages just flew by. I loves reading Edward’s story and finally getting some details on the most mysterious of the Broderick brothers. I hope there is another book in this series, but I did see at the end where Renee is starting a series on the Alumbra pack and definitely can’t can’t to read those when they release!

This was the first book that I read in this series and will need to go back and read book one to learn more about the family and the back story. The series is about a family of witches who just learned that they have powers. This book follows one of the brothers, Ethan. I love the family and all of the characters. I also loved learning more about the high priestess since I haven’t read much about them in other books. If you like witches, werwolves, magic, and some spicy romance then you need to read this book series!

Wrong for Him (The Love Lottery Series Book 3) by Christi Barth – Review by Michelle Austin

Wrong for Him (Love Lottery, #3)Wrong for Him by Christi Barth
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great 4 star read. It started out a little slow for me but picked up a few chapters in.

Amelia is starting over after a cheating ex. After winning an old inn through a lottery she embarks on a new adventure with her brother and his best friend, Teague. The best friend that she has crushed on for years. And it gets even more interesting when she ends up living at the inn with Teague while they are remodeling.

Of course old feelings start to come back to her and she wonders if he looks at her as more. I had some LOL moments with the things she would do to get his attention.

Teague is trying to do the right thing and not show more for Amelia. She is his best friend’s little sister. But she was the one person who helped him get through his deployment and it meant alot to him. Will he be able to keep things platonic or will he let things go too far?

Overall this was a good read. I really enjoyed all of the characters, they added a great element to the story. This was a fun couple to read about. I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.

I was hesitant to read Wrong for Him due to it being the third installment in the Love Lottery Series, but I was pleasantly surprised when I had no trouble following the story or characters. Very few instances in this book referenced anything from the other books in the series so it could easily be a stand alone read. Christi Barth has a well written story and amazing characters that are so well developed that I wished that I could be their friend! It took me a while to dive into Wrong for Him, but ultimately well worth it! I am looking forward to reading the other two books in the series, if in the wrong order. I would recommend this book to fans of friends-to-lovers and best-friend’s-sister romances.

The Guardian's Legacy (Coin of Time, #1)The Guardian’s Legacy by Luciana Cavallaro
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Guardian’s Legacy (The Coin of Time series Book 1) by Luciana Cavallaro was a very interesting and short read for me. I was initially drawn to this novella by its cover, the colors were beautiful, and the drawing intricate. But upon reading the first chapter I found myself fascinated with the characters and the story of the 2500 year old magical coin, that is so powerful it must be guarded at all costs. This novella included lots of Greek mythology, fantastic characters, and an amazing plot that will keep the readers reading until the very last word. I loved this story so much that I initially just wanted to read for a little bit and found myself reading the whole thing on one sitting. So if you want to find out if this magical coin falls into the wrong hands you’ll have to read The Guardian’s Legacy (The Coin of Time series Book 1) by Luciana Cavallaro for yourself.

The Bastard Prince (It’s Raining Royals) by Alix Nichols was a great addition to this series but I must say to make sure you read the first novel in this series as they do connect to each other. Once again Alix Nichols gives us a sexy but sweet romance filled with great characters, mystery, intrigue, and so much more. While there are some super steamy scenes between our main characters it is really more sweet and intimate then most romances that you will read, but personally I love the combination of mystery with romance. The Bastard Prince: a royal romance with humor and suspense (It’s Raining Royals) by Alix Nichols

This is the second book I’ve read by Nichols. Its Raining Royals is a great series so far. Nichols knows how to keep the readers coming back for more.

Sasha is writing a book and is looking for breakthrough stories. She then gets the opportunity to work with Arnaud on a case. She wants to get him talking, but will she fall in love with him? The quote I chose for Sasha is: “Me too! What’s particularly incomprehensible is how little we know about the women who fought alongside men in the 1793 Vendée insurrection, also known as the War in the Vendée, also known as the Chouannerie.”

Arnaud is a plastic surgeon and a good one at that. He doesn’t see himself falling for anyone. Once his brother asks him to work with Sasha things change. He falls hard and fast for her. The quote I chose for Arnaud is: “Fine. But what’s your quarrel with Mount Evor? If you really have governments eating out of your hand, then how can a tiny, hidden principality stand in your way?”

Highly recommended for Romantic Comedy lovers.

I really enjoyed book #2 of Arnaud and Sasha in this series. Sasha is a reporter trying to find the next big story while trying to battle kidney disease, Arnaud is the 2nd son of the late prince and a plastic surgeon. Arnaud finds he has family that he did not know and learned that his father was the late prince of Mount Evor. When Arnaud is tasked to find the 2nd secret key he has to team up with Sasha all while trying to evade the evil Kurt, whom wants Mount Evor to fall and find the keys for himself. Will Sasha and Arnaud find the 2nd key while sparks fly between them? I loved the puzzle behind the story, different areas and landmarks they may have to search in France. Great Read and I am so looking forward to book # 3 with Theo and his story!!

The Bastard Prince (It’s Raining Royals) by Alix Nichols – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

The Bastard Prince (It's Raining Royals, #2)The Bastard Prince by Alix Nichols
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This novella is a continuing tale in the Raining Royals Series. The Bastard Prince being book two follows Arnaud, a plastic surgeon who doesn’t know he is a prince. When he learns he is he almost doubts it. Ever the playboy he does have a liaison outside the main characters and it does make his character a little less lovable.
Sasha is an instantaneous love for me. Challenged with a disability that she doesn’t let get in her way, she works hard for what she has and she goes at life with spunk and curiosity. Being a reporter that curiosity is probably a necessity but the author makes it feel more like a natural trait than a must have due to vocation.
This installment in the Raining Royals is more charming and tender than the first book which gave us a steamy love affair with Max and Lucie. This ends as the first did with a HEA and a continuing arc for the next tale in the series. I do look forward to reading it.
So why did I give this four starts instead of five if I liked it so much? As a nurse I see people with the condition Sasha has and I feel like the author could have put a bit more research into it to make it more believable. However if you are not in the medical field or have never dealt with a kidney condition you probably wouldn’t notice this. Now on to book three!!

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Richardson. It is the first book in The Protector Series. This series can be read as standalones.

Mila has come back to her hometown after being pushed out. She was bullied when she was younger because she was different. She could hear and communicate with animals. The quote I chose for Mila is: “I’d forgotten how beautiful it is here.”

Elias has finally found his mate. The thing is though is one of the other Supernats is the cause for her pain. When he takes her to meet everyone on the good side he’s taken back to how kind she is. The quote I chose for Elias is: “You’ve given Morgan hope he’ll see his daughter again. He’s been all over the world consulting with all our strongest seers and not one has ever seen his daughter.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Romance lovers.

The Boss Prince (It's Raining Royals, #1)The Boss Prince by Alix Nichols
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This novella is charming, fun, a bit mystical and definitely worth a read. The main characters Max and Lucie go on some daring escapades to find the keys and save Max’s hidden gem of a kingdom. Lucie does not know he is the Prince so that makes for some interesting double talk.
This little page turner has a little of everything, intrigue, mystery, suspense, action, adventure, steamy romance, fun, flirty and another royal falling for a commoner. It is filled with a vast amount of information that I wonder if it is important to the continuing tale. If it is kudos for putting so much work into making a much larger story from a series of smaller easy reads.
This story is the beginning of a continuing tale of a secretive mystery that has yet to be solved. I look forward to book two which I am starting NOW!
